Noah breaks down challenges, opportunities, and solutions he sees within the industry, and tells us maybe the biggest BHAG we’ve heard on the show. About:
Veryable’s mission is to revitalize the American manufacturing sector by allowing businesses to “variablize” labor costs in small increments. This lets them increase costs only as their output increases, which will empower businesses to scale while maintaining a lower and more constant cost structure.
We aim to achieve this through our technology, which enables us to transform an antiquated and inefficient labor market into a real-time marketplace for labor. This will put more people to work and relieve the burden on producers, improving overall productivity and enabling organic growth.

About Satori Marketing:
Satori is a noun. It’s an adjective. Sometimes, it’s even a verb (Wow, we need to Satori the ____ out of this). To most, it means sudden enlightenment. For us, we can’t imagine any other way to do business. We move as one unit – Account Service, Creative, Media, Public Relations, Strategy and Social Media – and we move swiftly. We’re driven by culture. Of the team and of the moment. We walk, talk and think like humans. We don’t believe in fake, even when the waters get deep. You might call it the refined art of keeping it real. We call it the art of keeping it, well, Satori.

Howdy, Ags! Today, we have Sarah Martin '01, author, speaker, and wellness coach. In this episode, Sarah shares building a platform to serve an audience, all while never forgetting your why and your passion. If you are looking for inspiration, then this episode is for you. So tune in and enjoy!
Remember Your Why, Your Passion, and Who You Serve
Sarah is a multi-passionate person. She loves serving the Lord and serving people. Lately, her focus is on equipping men and women for these stormy days that we live in to help them know what matters most, to see revival in them and through them. She believes revival is imminent not only in the four walls of the church but also in the marketplaces. Sarah emphasized that to be an agent of rebirth, it is essential to be bold in who you are and what your voice is, regardless of whether people will like it or hate it. Those that are going to love what you say are going to come along for the ride, and these are also the ones that you would want to serve.
With the challenges Social Media brings due to its unsteady algorithms that could sway you away from your core, Sarah overcomes this by not being afraid to try new things, honing her niche, and using the platform to reach and impact people.

Howdy, Ags! Today, we have Christopher Taylor '07, CEO and founder of Taylor counseling group, a mental health company striving to take Texas from last to first in terms of mental health! In this episode, Chris shares how his group makes mental health accessible to everyone. So make sure to tune in to learn more!
Invest In Yourself and Your People
Mental health awareness opens more spaces for people to acknowledge the not-so-pretty side of things and encourages them to seek professional help. Yet, we do not have enough people in school to keep up with the demand for therapy. In addition to that, therapy is somehow considered a luxury good that only the haves can afford. To address these concerns, Christopher Taylor founded the Taylor Counseling Group to provide access to quality, affordable therapy.
To achieve their goals, Chris considered his group the In-N-Out Burger of therapy, where they do one thing well: to provide outpatient mental health at a very affordable rate. And that's the end of their service. That is all they provide. They collaborate with people who are very good in other medical departments, but they focus on one thing, which allows them to be very successful in providing that one service. Another strategy is investing heavily in their therapists (education, health insurance, benefits, etc.) because he believes that when a company invests in its people, they show up and do their best work.
About Taylor Counseling Group:
Taylor Counseling Group provides affordable, reliable, and accessible mental health services to communities across Texas.

Howdy, Ags! Today, we have Bill Biggs '94, founder of Biggs and Associates! In this episode, Bill shares how CEOs can demand high performance while maintaining a positive disposition from employees. So make sure to tune in to learn more!
Love Your People - Demand High Performance
Bill Briggs believes that the common notion that pursuing one's passion will lead to success is a piece of bad advice. Instead, self-analysis, learning about your gifts, and becoming passionate about those gifts is the pathway to success. Once he realized his skills leaned more on using words to communicate the message, he pivoted into coaching and became a sought-after motivator and trainer.
As a coach, Bill comes into an organization and evaluates the culture and leadership. For him, culture and leadership are the most critical factors in an organization. The top-down approach means the leaders set the tone in an organization, not taking the credit when things go right but acknowledging it as a team's effort, and taking every problem as a leadership problem, pushing them to act and come up with a solution. In his research, he learned that culture is everything one does. It is primarily built upon the values and beliefs of a group of people. Culture in a company or organization draws out the performance in a group. The right cultural construct leads to getting high-performing individuals as it sets the bar higher for one to be able to enter into that organization. A strong culture yields a solid belief in the organization's purpose, of each other, and of the client, which produces people willing to give everything they've got joyfully. Additionally, an organization where leaders appreciate and love their people earns them the right to demand high performance.
About Biggs and Associates:
Biggs & Associates serves some of the greatest influencers in American business and sports. Their work energizes and equips them to leverage their platforms to impact the world effectively. In addition, they create elite communicators by crafting the perfect messages for the most critical moments.

Best-in-class communications strategy for Fortune 500 Companies, NFL Hall of Famers, NCAA Champions, ESPN Broadcasters, and top NCAA athletic departments. Executive interview preparation for America's most sought-after and successful coaches and athletic directors. Media training and crisis management for some of the biggest brands in sports and numerous keynotes, shareholder presentations, and high-level public addresses.
Their founder, Bill Biggs, is a sought-after motivator and trainer with a graduate degree in Psychology from Texas A&M, graduate studies at Harvard Business School, and years of experience on stage and in the boardroom. He's used his unique understanding of what drives communication and human behavior to accelerate performance in media, communications, education, and the corporate world. With leadership roles in pastoral ministry, as Chief Operating Officer of one of the largest law firms in Texas, and as mentor/friend to some of the most talented people in the country, he's devoted his entire professional life to bringing out the excellence in others.

Howdy, Ags! Today, we have Dustin Stewart '03 of Squad Stx! In this episode, Dustin shares how he translated what he does best into a business that adds value nationally as it provides a training avenue for boys to be better men of tomorrow. So make sure to tune in and enjoy!
Good Men, Good Leaders, and Good Citizens of Tomorrow
Dustin Stewart served our country as an infantry officer and realized his ability of leading men crawling around the woods. So when he got out of the army, he created a company that can be an outlet for boys to be trained in surviving in the woods to develop their character, confidence, and leadership skills. As someone who grew up doing Boy Scout as a kid, he knows that there is a need of this kind of outdoor activity especially in this age of technology. He incorporated Laser Tag guns aside from the usual camping and hiking activities to infuse something he is passionate about.
Dustin believes the key to success is to find something you're an expert in and use that to leverage your business. On the things that you are not, studying and being around people who’ve done it are some of the ways that can help.
About Squad Stx:
Nowadays we live in a cocoon of technology that shields us from real-world life lessons that are vital to success. Squad STX's perspective is that less screen time and more physical, action-oriented programs are essential for young men to become grounded in actual leadership. They use primitive camping and orienteering to promote the classic U. S. Army leadership values of loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity, and personal courage!
The executive leadership team is a group of U. S. Army buddies with a combined 35 years of active military duty that are passionate about imparting basic but very important leadership lessons often overlooked outside of the military. Squad instructors are cadets or newly commissioned lieutenants from ROTC programs at Texas A&M, University of Texas, and other Texas schools.
They provide boys hands-on leadership experience and team building skills instead of just talking about them, and they do all this without the trappings of modern camp gear—they use tarps as shelters, not tents. Campers must be motivated to come, because they are not a boot camp for troubled teens, and they don't cancel for rain!

Howdy, Ags! Today, we have Max Gerall '18 of The Reach Project! In this episode, Max shares with us how he founded a wonderful non-profit organization that saw the unseen but essential members of the community. So make sure to tune in and enjoy!
How Listening & Empathy Creates Ripples
Max recalled that he had just recovered from sickness before his first year, and the first person who showed him the Aggie spirit was a food service employee. This encounter, and his love for listening to the stories of others, led him to see the conditions of Aggie's essential workers and moved him to start an organization that would provide access to essential Aggies to tools and resources they need to overcome the multi-generational poverty cycle and achieve their fullest potential. The organization utilizes Aggie students who joined the movement. It thus creates an opportunity for the students to practice their technical skills, develop their soft skills, and enhance their capacity for empathy. So when they become leaders in their field, they hopefully are more empathetic.
He believes that empathy is vital in personal life, in building relationships, and in business. Max shares that being able to put yourself in one's shoes and understand where they're coming from helps you better understand the world and yourself. And so, if you can be empathetic in every relationship, the odds are that those relationships will be stronger and more fruitful in the long run. But when thinking about it from a business perspective, empathy is also crucial because customers drive the business; if their wants and needs are not understood, then a company can also not provide them with the product they will use.
About The Reach Project:
The REACH Project is a nonprofit organization founded in 2017 by Max Gerall, an A&M undergrad whose friendship with a cafeteria worker led to his realization that the 3,000 contract service workers on campus were virtually unknown and unseen, but essential members of the community. They cook the meals, clean the dorms and classrooms, fix the toilets, and keep the campus beautifully maintained, yet they are poorly paid, anonymous, and their value unacknowledged.
Not a legislator, politician, or institutional administrator; what could he do to ameliorate the hardships workers endured because of their unsustainable wages? He realized that what he and other Aggie students did have were time, knowledge, and a commitment to selfless service. With those resources, he developed High Impact Service-learning Opportunities (HISOs), a platform that provides mutually beneficial engagements between students and the service workforce. HISO’s leverage student knowledge critical to the workforce in overcoming multigenerational poverty, while offering students opportunities for experiential learning, soft skill development, and relationships that instill and nurture empathy for a life of service,
REACH kicked off its first programs in 2018, in response to the expressed need of the uninsured workforce for healthcare. Staffed by students from the Health Sciences Center, REACH hosted pop-up clinics and Health & Wellness Fairs on campus. In 2018 and 2019, more than 400 workers and their families attended these events. At the same time, REACH was helping students create their own AgsREACH organization, working with BUILD on the design and construction of its free health clinic (generously funded by a Strategic Philanthropy Grant) and the development of its lifelong learning, personal finance, and homeownership programs.
Early in 2020, COVID-19 came to Texas A&M. As the campus emptied out, service workers were laid off and furloughed. REACH pivoted and implemented its COVID Emergency Response. Over the course of the next 12 months, approximately 700 families were served 200,000 pounds of produce, 40,000 locally sourced restaurant meals, 7,500 USDA Meal Boxes, and 6,000 pounds of frozen meat, by 240 student volunteers. REACH initiated opening on campus Warming Centers, and drive-thru health clinics.
In the second half of 2020, REACH delivered its first courses in finance, ESL, and homeownership. Since then, the number of participants doubled each course offering (with a 98% retention rate), as has the number of student volunteers and interns. Today, more than 300 students representing 28 different majors regularly serve more than 800 families by providing access to food and healthcare, including vision, dental, and breast health clinics, food-producing home gardening, pet Vet clinics, as well as Everyday ESL, and the REACH Journey Home. Three participants have become homeowners; 7 more have qualified.

Howdy, Ags! Today, we have Drew ‘12 and Anna Dudley ‘12, the power couple behind Dudley Engineering! In this episode, Drew and Anna share the values that are key to their company's fast growth rate. So tune in and enjoy!
How Teamwork, Communication, and Passion Lead to Growth
Growing up with an entrepreneur dad who runs a construction company, Drew always had this inkling of him being a part of something great. Frustrated by the limited opportunities laid out to him in his former well-paying job, he started a company despite the risks it entails with few ideas on how he could do better. With Anna’s full support from taking care of the household to taking the lead in operations two years after, these two Texas Aggie Class of 2012 worked their magic and grew their company fast.
Anna in the operations and Drew in the technical – they made their teamwork by establishing strong communication. This communication starts with the two purposely having lunch together every Wednesday to talk about business. It is then passed on to their employees, engraving in them the standards, culture, and processes of the company. They also communicate with the contractors, knowing that these are the people on the ground who do the work; their inputs would be valuable to the success of each construction. With this dynamic of communication, teamwork, and passion, Dudley Engineering provides immense value to the people and communities in which they work.

How Benchly is Setting the Bar
Howdy, Ags! Today, we have the director for business development at Benchly, Haydn Jones ‘17! In this episode, he shares how they leverage technology in the legal industry. We are thrilled to have Haydn on the show!
Law Industry Technology
Documents flood law offices, and without an organization system intact would mean trouble. Luckily, with technology, law firms can have that extra sense of organization for litigation documents. There is a lot of documentation going back and forth between the client and the opposing counsel’s attorney. All kinds of briefs and motions filed to court pile up. With the tools they have at Benchly, Haydn says they can streamline that process for everyone involved. Through that, it would be beneficial for attorneys, their secretaries, and even paralegals, and the overall bottom line is that they positively impact that. What drew Haydn to the legal industry was back in his business class days. Taking law was at the back of Haydn’s mind, but he eventually chose business over it. Seeing the intersection of his passions became a great career move for Haydn, who now enjoys his job at Benchly.
About Haydn Jones:
Sparked by a Business Law course during the pursuit of his Bachelor’s degree at Texas A&M University, Haydn Jones’ interest in the legal landscape found a diverse and demanding arena in which the talent pool possesses unique characteristics and practice areas. As Haydn was suddenly at the crossroads to either attend law school or continue on his planned track of diving into the entrepreneurial deep end, the logical next step was to find the intersection of the law and business. Through this search, he stumbled on the bustling vertical that is legal technology and has yet to look back since earning an early position with Benchly, Inc. As one of the few U.S. companies with a comprehensive case law database, Benchly possesses unique capabilities that other legal technology vendors rely on integrations or APIs to accomplish. This distinction has enabled the company to expand to reach all corners and coasts of the United States with further outreach on the horizon. Of course, the journey with Benchly has proved to be a formidable one that has allowed Haydn the opportunity to be immersed in both the legal and business worlds that he once dreamed of in Mosher Hall at Texas A&M.

Howdy, Ags! Today, we have the founder and CEO of Rockstar Capital, Robert Martinez ‘96! In this episode, he shares how he grew his company from nothing to what it is now. We thank Robert for sharing his knowledge with us today!
Epiphany Moment - How to Turn a Good Life into a Rockstar Life
As a child, Robert’s parents gave him one piece of advice: go to school and get good grades. Being his first mentors, he followed them and went on to be the first in the family to graduate college. The following advice was from his professors, telling him what employers look for and to save for his 401k. Robert worked for ten years in corporate America. Eventually, he had a moment of epiphany – he did not have control over his financial future; his employer did. That was when Robert decided to turn his life around. He learned about real estate investing and got into a paid mentorship program to learn more. Being a sales guy helped him network with partners and clients alike. Robert hustled hard, and that came into fruition with the establishment of his company. If it had not been for Robert’s realization, he would not have a life that he has complete control over.
About Robert Martinez:
After founding Rockstar Capital in March 2011, Robert has since directed the growth of Rockstar Capital’s managed portfolio to 21 apartment communities with a total of 3,762 rental units. Since 2011, he has directed the underwriting, acquisition, and management of 30 apartment communities consisting of more than 5,243 rental units. On top of running an award-winning business, Robert holds an Engineering Degree from Texas A&M and is the only person to have won the National Apartment Association Independent Rental Owner of the Year twice. Robert shares a passion for soccer with his two boys, Ryan and Conner, and enjoys supporting their daily efforts in local club soccer.

Howdy, Ags! Today, we have the managing partner of Ring Ventures, Larry Warnock! In this episode, he discusses how venture capital actually looks at businesses. It is with great pleasure that we have him on the show!
Who Wants To Invest In Jurassic Park with Larry Warnock
Venture capital is never considered a debt. The beauty of it lies in the risk-taking capacity of a firm or investor because there is a potentially high return for it. Venture capital is equity to build a business with the hopes of an exit, being an IPO, or getting acquired. To be an accredited investor, one must meet the criteria the SEC set. By definition, someone making $200,000, or $300,000 with a partner, or has a million-dollar liquidity net means one can get accredited. A venture capital pitch takes six weeks on average, as investors would want to go into the details. A pitch usually takes 30 to 45 minutes, where investors check on the idea, the total addressable market, due diligence on income statements and balance sheets, and other similar things. After the presentation, that is the time investors bid against each other on who gets to buy a percentage of a company with a long-term opportunity to return high gains.
About Larry Warnock:
Larry Warnock is a seasoned venture-backed tech executive with multiple exits via acquisition or IPO. He was most recently the president and CEO of Olono, an AI platform for sales effectiveness (acquired by InsightSquared). Previously he was the CEO of Gazzang, a provider of big data security software (acquired by Cloudera), and Phurnace, a provider of DevOps software (acquired by BMC Software). After moving to Austin from Silicon Valley, Larry was a venture partner at AVLabs, the incubator fund of Austin Ventures. His career has allowed him to work with numerous VCs and companies across California, Colorado, and Texas. Austin is now his home with his wife of 35 years. He started his software career in sales and marketing and has been a VP executive at several successful high-growth companies, including Documentum, OnLink, Siebel, and Vignette. Larry is an advisor to InsightSquared of Boston, MA, and several early-stage companies here in Texas. He is also a Venture Partner with ATXVenture Partners, a seed and Series A stage investor in the Southwest. Larry graduated from Texas A&M and is a frequent speaker at Texas A&M’s Mays School of Business.

Howdy, Ags! Today, we have the CEO of CATCO, Travis Richards! In this episode, Travis shares about their thriving business that uses resilient and abundant energy by manufacturing flameless heating systems. We are grateful for Travis’s presence with us and wish his company well!
The Difference Between Running And Owning A Business
Travis used to put an asterisk next to his name as CEO and entrepreneur. After all, his grandfather, Bill, started the company 40 years ago. Being the third generation, Travis had to take over as CEO of CATCO. On his first day, he realized that running the business differed from owning it. Running the company meant that every decision Travis made meant money and risks. It took eight years for Travis to realize that because he did not know what he was expecting. Moreover, he was in the military before getting into the family business. From there, Travis stopped himself from acting quickly and taking risks without thinking twice because that would have consequences reflecting on the company. It took a lot of adjusting for Travis to become the CEO of their company, but in the end, it was all worth it.
About Travis Richards:
Travis Richards, Fightin’ Texas Aggie Class of ’05, is the CEO of CATCO, a catalytic heating manufacturer. He served in the US Air Force before coming back home to join the family business.

Howdy, Ags! Today, we are joined by the General Manager of Triple A Air conditioning and Heating, Dustin Neff! In this episode, Dustin shares how self-awareness helped him take the business to the next level and how he plans to move Triple A even more forward. We are excited to hear more about Dustin in the show, so make sure to tune in with us!
Dustin, On Letting Go
When asked about the most pivotal decision he has made in the business, Dustin brought up a point in his career where he had to let go of some things. He had to let go of some hats. Initially, Dustin wore multiple hats as a key person in their family business. He worked in the field, in sales, in inventory, and in pretty much every facet of Triple A. But as Dustin went on, he knew such an approach couldn’t continue. Dustin realized he was working way too much in the business and not on it. After working with a business coach, Dustin made the conscious decision that instead of working in different positions, the company would benefit far better if they hired talents that are better than them and could contribute more skills, time, and expertise.

Howdy, Ags! Today, we have the president, owner, and founder of Stearns Design-Build, Hugh Stearns! In this episode, Hugh shares with us why he is passionate about designing and building residential spaces to create health and happiness. We are grateful to have Hugh with us on the show, and we are excited about his future projects ahead!
Quality, Happy Homes
Design is not just for aesthetics – it is something built with a purpose to make lives easier. Hugh is passionate about designing and building happy homes that improve the quality of life. Having a background in Psychology, Hugh read that people who know when the sun rises and sets consistently report that they are happier than those who don’t. The same thing is also applicable to moon phases. Bearing that in mind, Hugh incorporated that in developing his designs when he started his company, thus the tagline “designing happiness.” In architecture, the psychology of space heavily lies in the details of how they are organized. Users are always given high consideration as it is always the cardinal rule to design for people. For Hugh, the home is a family’s hearth and sanctuary – the center of their life. Hugh believes that getting to that center and focusing on the things that create connections for them, that is, with nature and people, is a way to overcome the angst of modernity.
About Hugh Stearns:
Hugh ran Stearns Design-Build as a one-person operation when he founded it in 1993. He has been the first employee in virtually every position in the company. He grew up in College Station and Bryan and graduated from Texas A&M.
His background in philosophy and psychology has helped develop the design theory that drives the company’s unique approach to residential design and green building. He took his first class in green building in 1976 and has remained a student of building science ever since. His passion for remodeling and custom home design is a large part of what has driven our growth and award-winning recognition for customer service. When you meet with Hugh, he will answer any questions you have, explain how our process works, and discuss what you would like to do with your remodeling project.

Howdy, Ags! Today, we are talking to a Leadership & Success Coach and the Founder of Tribe and Purpose, Otis McGregor! In this episode, Otis shares the milestones of going from military to joining corporate to finally finding his life's purpose. He talks about the struggles that made it hard and the things that made it all happen, and we're excited to hear about it!
From Military to Coaching
Corporations are greatly beholden to their stockholders. And that's just generally how it usually is in most corporations. But because of this, sometimes corporate is also not quick to adapt. This is one of the significant realizations Otis experienced when he left corporate in his post-military years and decided to found Tribe and Purpose. As someone who came from the military, an institution that runs on orders, Otis also experienced a significant change of environment upon becoming an entrepreneur. As the founder of his own coaching organization, for the first time, Otis can finally say—"no!" Otis welcomed this kind of change with wide arms as the man behind his own cause and purpose. As an entrepreneur, he can now reclaim the power to say "no" to anything that doesn't align with his values.
About Otis McGregor:
Otis' purpose is to create a legacy of leaders who create great organizations. Because he believes that great organizations create great communities and, with great communities, around the world, we will create a better world.
He leads Tribe and Purpose with his son Camden. This unique combination allows them to blend their experiences and perspectives to be the guide for their clients to fulfill their purpose. Their values drive their purpose to help others discover and pursue their purpose in life.
