Over the weekend was the 23rd annual “Legends for Lights Pheasant Jamboree” was put on by the Northern Lights Athletic Scholarship Foundation (NLASF). These legends stopped by for an autograph session with 250 local kids at the Boys and Girls Club of the Hi-Line. I spoke with Bill Kollar (MSU Bobcat whose number is retired, went on to play in the NFL and coach for 34 years, the last nine with the Denver Broncos), Robb Nen (12-year professional baseball player with 314 career saves, which is 25th in MLB history), Dane Fletcher (MSU Bobcat 2005-2009 who went undrafted and eventually landed in New England with the Patriots with an in between stop in Tampa Bay to play for the Buccaneers), and Casey Fitzsimmons (Carroll College alum who went on to sign with the Detroit Lions and play there from 2003-2009).
