AJP-Renal Physiology would like to recognize an important article out this month by Kelli Sas and her colleagues entitled, HYPERGLYCEMIA IN THE ABSENCE OF CILIA ACCELERATES CYSTOGENESIS AND INDUCES RENAL DAMAGE.
Listen in as Associate editor Jennifer Sullivan and Dr. Sas discuss how hyperglycemia, in the absence of cilia, results in renal structural and functional damage and accelerates cystogenesis, suggesting that diabetes is a risk factor for the progression of polycystic kidney disease.
