Paul Middleditch and Hamish Bennett talk about working with stars, Minnie Driver, Rhys Darby and Julian Dennison on this film based on actual events in 1981 when South Africa Springboks toured New Zealand during Apartheid and how a 17 year-old student, played by Julien, is forced to get off the fence he has actively sat on all his life to stand up for himself, his Maori family and his future in this heartwarming story of identity.

In this bonus interview, Bill Baker sits down with the directors of the film, Uproar, starring Minnie Driver, Rhys Darby and Julian Dennison. Hamish Bennett and Paul Middleditch talk about the story behind the film and working with the incredible cast.
Uproar is set in New Zealand in 1981, when the arrival of the South African Springboks sets off nationwide protests against apartheid and racism. Josh Waaka, played by Julien Dennison, a 17-year-old of mixed race who has been a passive bystander all his life, is suddenly forced to stand up for himself, his whānau, or family, and his future.
Dennison's acting is superb, filled with humor and emotions.

Ilona was still recovering from a leg injury and anxious to get back on the circuit, looks back on her career thus far, including being named to the World Rugby Dream Team and her time at Quinnipiac. Does she see herself playing 15s again? You may be surprised by her response.
Also, Fitzy and I take notes as Ilona teaches us old farts how to go viral on social media… while keeping our clothes on.

Hingano, fresh off her USA XVs debut and player of the match honors, talks about earning that first XVs cap, her future rugby goals and who on the team has been the most helpful in her progress… lets just say, we needed to nudge her to say something nice about Rachel, who was sitting right next to her! 😂Rachel discusses the importance of these tournaments in the growth of the women’s game, playing for multiple USA head coaches of late, and the 2023-24 PWR season with Exeter Chiefs.
