In past years, many different nationalities have moved to Scotland. The idea of my show, YOUR show, is to tell you about people from Russian speaking countries.
Today is the last episode of Top Summer music from Russia with love. In this episode, we will listen to some Russian, Ukranian, Bulgarian and Polish songs.
The music of Bulgaria refers to all forms of music associated with the country of Bulgaria, including classical, folk, popular music, and other forms. Bulgarian music uses a wide range of instruments. Some folk instruments are variants of traditional Asian instruments. More modern style instruments are often used in the modern dance music that is an offshoot of traditional village music. Let's listen today to some Bulgarian songs!
Traditional Latvian folklore, especially the dance of the folk songs, date back well over a thousand years. During the Soviet era, rock music became extremely popular, as well as folk song. Nowadays, the pop music sphere is dominated by pop music. Today we will listen to different singers fro Latvia.
Poland is a Slavic country with rich and diverse traditional music. Historically it has been under the influence of many European music. The oldest trace of music in Poland comes back to the 13th century. Today we will listen to some national folk music. For example, Mazurka is one of national dances of Poland. It is a fast dance which pairs glide across the floor. It is known for its improvisation character. One more is Polonaise, this genre of dance is also one of the five historic national dances of Poland. It is usually the first dance in the big events.
In this episode, I am talking about Belorusian famous singers. We are going to listen to some songs. Belarus is an Eastern European country with a rich tradition of folk and religious music. The country's musical traditions spread with its people to countries like Russia, Kazakhstan, Latvia, and Ukraine.
Today I present another episode called Top Summer music from Russia with Love. I would like to talk about Ukraninan famous singers and listen to some of their songs. Some of the Ukranian artists present their songs in Russian, Ukranian and English languages. Today we will listen to Ukranian versions of the songs.
I would like to introduce new episodes called Top Summer music from Russia with Love. We will talk about Russian, Ukraninan famous pop artists and listen to different types of songs. I will talk a bit more about our music culture, our concerts in Russia and why Russian people like going to concerts.
Today I want to talk about Russian Appreciation Society at Stirling University. We have 25 members and I am talking today about our events, experience when we opened the society and our experience with international people. Also, I am talking with Sheldon, the guy who is a member of our society for a couple of months, his experience, his favorite Russian food, and songs.
