[Episode 38] Don't be scared of secular books for kids! Just sit down with them and learn the difference between what we know and what the book writers want them to believe.
It's busy summer time here, so no report, but we have a good time snuggling on the couch and sharing with you how I teach young ones to understand what the secular writers don't share with kids.
At the end of the day, the natural world shows us its Creator clearly.
[Episode 37] Come take a deep dive into one of the most confusing bits of the Creation account. We'll look at the heavenly "generations", explore what the plants of the field would have been, and imagine what the "mist" God mentions means. Reminders of God as Creator are hidden all through the Scriptures. Today we look at the first two chapters of the Book of Hebrews and how it points at Jesus as the maker of all things. Then we learn about a fascinating way mathematical shapes work out in theory and in the natural world. Last, we hear about God's biggest creature, the Blue Whale.
Episode 18: This podcast wraps up our series on the celestial bodies God created on Day 4 of Creation Week with the planets. We explore why we call them “planets”, learn something special about each one and even a couple ways to remember their names in order. Then we share how we tried out our new geology kit and our first experiment for this year’s science course.
Just how many stars are there? Do we know how many are in our neighborhood? Can we even measure the size of the universe to make decent guesses? We look at the answers to these questions and wonder at an amazing verse telling us this is no problem for God. Next, we learn a cool fact about a cool animal family: Cephalopods. Then it's on to the simple machines we rely on every day and explore a little of how God uses them, too.
Episode 16: We're back on Day 4 of Creation Week exploring the biggest understatement ever! What are stars like? Why do scientists who live for decades predicting what would take billions of years to happen? And, a little of how God might have flung the stars into place while letting us see them. Then, we learn about a totally different light source: electrical switches.
Episode 15: Today we look at an important Greek word about who Jesus is, we talk about some cool jungle missionary kids, share our experiments watching salt burn, and have a look at some awesome fossils.
