Season 3, Episode 1. The Talk Tuesdays, the podcast has a new segment called ASK LELE. Ive juggled this idea for a year and ultimately I am going forth with it! This project evolves each year. The ideation phase started from a book I wrote after being inspired by a college entrance essay. Now I want to make ASK LELE more personable and connect more. For the first episode this season I discuss some alternative forms of medicine. I share my experience with acupuncture, supplements and vitamins in addition to cycle syncing. Which is something I am learning now while reading In the Flo by Alisa Vitti. Mind blowing and powerful to learn how to connect my life and my plans to my bodies hormones and cycle. If you interested in any of the aforementioned topics or are curious about an alternative form of medicine which I did not mention please complete the google doc:

and Ill be sure to unpack your topic. Til next Tuesday...

Outside of the confines of a work uniform, school uniform or a specific event which requires according attire you can use fashion to express yourself. Unlearning

What does it mean to unlearn.

Before we can take on something new fully we have to analyze the previous conditioning or experiences that may have developed a bias or worse a limitation within us.

Unlearning is important for growth.  There are some things I learned as child which were very helpful for the environment I was in then but to think from that same perspective limits me much.  I did a huge self reflection and read my old journals and learned I was living the same experience because I was approaching life the same way.

I learned by looking back and examining what worked in my past and what didnt.  I now examine myself fully before throwing myself into a situation.  I work hard to be the best version of myself.

Its hard work working on yoursef but someone has to do it.

Ask yourself what beliefs are you holding on to from your past that may not serve you presently.

Ask yourself are you growing and evolving with the world or are you holding on to convention for safety.

Ask yourself where are you now?  Spiritually, mentally, physically?  Are you comfortable and open to new things.  Do you approach new things with an open heart?  If not maybe its time to unlearn somethings.

We Voted & we changed some thangsssss

This year my friend @emilyfemily_ worked at the polls and she shared her experience with me and I was blown away!  Im so used to older citizens who are retired and volunteer to work at the polls. So when I found out my friend was working and got paid to work I thought wowww!  How many young people would have showed up to work especially for one day.  Most citizens are dealing with unemployment so extra money would have been a huge benefit to get people to show up.  Also geting people that look like you to show up.  Eat a churro at the polls, roll up (Outside the polls), twerk at the polls.  We can make voting fun.   Please tap in with @emilyfemily_  on istagram.  Soon, we will host an IGTV chat to discuss more details about her poll worker experience

powerthepolls.org is a website with more info pertaining to working the polls

Talk Tuesdays is a self development podcast and today we are focusing on accountability. During the episode I mentioned I would share some of my favorite self development books. Those books are: The Untethered Soul, Michael A. Singer When Things Fall Apart, Pema Chodron The Community of Self, Na'im Akbar Let Your Life Speak, Parker Palmer All About Love, Bell Hooks How To Love, Thich Nhat Hanh

Those are just some books and all of them are fairly simple quick reads. Compelling, straightforward and quick.

I hope after this episode we can all be actionable regarding accountability in our personal and professional lives.
