Collaborations are gaining in popularity lately and it’s easy to get caught in the trap of doing them just to do them. But what you need to keep in mind is whether or not collaborations make sense for you and your business as a marketing strategy.
In today’s episode, I’m sharing what collaborations are, why they sometimes don’t work, and how to determine if they are right for you. Plus, collaborations are not one size fits all, so try a few different ones and see how it feels.

The topic of business success keeps coming up lately and I had to record this episode to address what I’m seeing and how to reframe it. So many business owners focus too much on the timeline of reaching certain business milestones and not enough on what’s already been accomplished.
In today’s episode, I’m sharing how to redefine what business success really means, how to celebrate what you’ve achieved, and how to stop comparing your business to someone else’s.

Not feeling aligned in your business can lead to feelings of frustration and imposter syndrome. Listening to what other people think you should do in your business is not going to fulfill you. You need to discover what lights you up.
In today’s episode, I’m talking with Lindsey Lopez Horwitz, founder of Virtually Lindsey and a former client of mine, about how she embraced alignment in her business and made the mindset shifts to get her there. Lindsey shares how being coachable, finding the things that lit her up, and reframing how she presented herself online led her to become unapologetically bold in her business.

Selling is something we’ve all struggled with at some point or another. We’ve seen the icky practices online and want to avoid it at all costs. I get it. I’ve been there, too. There’s a lot of pressure when it comes to sales and it’s even worse when you don’t have the confidence you need to sell like a CEO.
In today’s episode, I’m sharing how you can build that confidence and shift your mindset when it comes to sales. It’s a pep talk from the heart with advice on how to approach sales as a connection. Remember: not closing a sale isn’t failure. It’s practice and research that you can use to build more opportunities in your business.

When you started your business, did you have trouble stepping into the CEO role? Perhaps your people-pleasing tendencies or insecurities had you asking other people for advice and permission instead of leading the way. These barriers are normal and can be overcome by shifting your mindset in your business.
In today’s episode, I’m talking with Marissa Miluk on how she’s fully embraced being the CEO of her business by infusing it with her unique personality and continually investing in herself. By doing so, she’s fostered a deeper sense of community with her audience and grown her social following by leaps and bounds.

This is a story about how I learned to bake sourdough bread from scratch, after being intimidated by it for quite some time. But it’s really a story about how imposter syndrome can seep into every part of your life, and how you can fight it.
In today’s episode, I’m sharing what exactly imposter syndrome is, how it shows up in our lives (no matter who you are), and my advice on how to change your mindset and move past your limiting beliefs. Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there and try something new. Even if the outcome isn’t what you expected, it doesn’t mean you failed.

When you come up with an idea for a business, and even when you’re well into owning and running a business, imposter syndrome can hit hard. It can be easy to think that you’re not capable or that you have to try something completely different. But if you take a beat and follow your intuition, you’ll see that you don’t have to ditch your business or start all over with a new idea.
In today’s episode, I’m chatting with Amy Nielson about how she has grown her business making printables for teachers to a multi-million dollar business operating on a membership model. She’s talking about how important it is to do something that you love, how to reframe entrepreneurial challenges as opportunities, and the importance of collaboration.

Summer is coming, and I know we all want to soak up the sunshine with family or friends or even have some extra time to ourselves. That’s a big part of why we became entrepreneurs, right? To prioritize time off to recharge.
In today’s episode, I’m talking about why it is so important to prioritize the life that you want to live. I’m sharing three things I want you to do, right now, to make time for yourself.
Whether it’s shorter work days in the summer, taking off the entire month of December, or 3-day weekends, make yourself a priority. Your business should support your lifestyle and not the other way around.

For today’s guest, she realized that teaching required valuable energy that meant she was too tired and overwhelmed to pour into her own child. That was the wake up call she needed to make a change.
In today’s episode, I’m chatting with Arianna Vernier, a teacher turned work-from-home mom who coaches other moms and former teachers on how to start their own virtual assistant businesses. She herself started out as a VA after leaving her teaching job, and the transition to mentor and coach has allowed her even more flexibility and freedom.

Today, I’m talking with my guest and dear friend Natalie Gingrich of the Ops Authority all about core values.
The hard truth is that you can’t make the best business decisions and attract the right clients without clear, defined core values. You have to define, refine, and incorporate your core values and let them create the foundation for your business before you can do the work that is most aligned for you.
In this episode, Natalie shares how she defined her core values, her experiences with making business decisions that weren’t aligned with her values, and how you can make creating your core values a priority right now.

So many women I speak with want to move their business to the next level, but they just feel… stuck when it comes to getting to the next step. These aren’t women lacking in skill or expertise or even ambition.
No, what they’re missing is the confidence they need to believe in their own strengths and strategic abilities. And so often, they’re lacking confidence because they don’t know themselves.
In today’s episode, we’re going to talk about how to get to know yourself, why knowing yourself allows you to be confident in your decisions and skills, and how that confidence can transform your business, by allowing you to step into roles where you can share your strategic brilliance, instead of relegating yourself to an implementation role for others.
If you’re ready to unlock the key to business growth with ease, keep listening. This episode will get you started on that path.

You have poured your heart and soul into your business, making sure that it’s aligned with who you are and what you want to offer … and now you need a brand that fits. And not just a logo and color palette but also visual messaging that speaks to your target audience and also what your business represents.
In today’s episode, I’m chatting with Abbey McGrew of Wayfarer Design Studio about building a brand with a heart-led strategic approach, starting with baby steps when you don’t know what you want, common mistakes to avoid, and the benefits of working with a brand professional.
Whether your business is brand new or getting a revamp, your brand is an important part of relaying who you are to your potential customers. And while you technically can DIY it, working with a professional saves you time and gives you invaluable expertise for landing on a brand that feels truly aligned.

Embracing your CEO role on a deeper level is so important. If you have listened to this podcast before, you know how strongly I feel about personal leadership development. If you’re not already doing it, I want to encourage you to find what works for you to explore who you are at your core, what drives you, and how you best operate within your business.
In today’s episode, I’m talking about my three favorite tools—The Kolbe A Index, Enneagram, and Human Design—and how I use each of them in embracing my role as CEO, building teams, navigating projects, and more.
We are not all designed the same way. Even within each of these tools, there are many different ways to be and function and thrive and move through the world. Take some time to dig deep and embrace who you are on a deeper level.
Do you want to get to know your own personalized energetic blueprint? Click here to download your FREE human design chart. To go even further, I’m offering a day of Voxer where we can dive deeper into your chart and how you can show up as a more empowered version of your CEO self.

Leaving the 9-5 world to become an entrepreneur comes with a lot of flexibility. However, if you don’t set boundaries—and stick to them—you won’t be able to achieve the balance that you desire. It’s easy to trade freedom for burnout if you’re not careful.
In today’s episode, I’m talking about why entrepreneurs get burnt out, the importance of sticking to the boundaries that you set, and how to have difficult conversations around boundaries.
The more you know who you are, the easier it is to identify boundaries that work for you. Asking questions of yourself and taking steps to implement your boundaries will keep you aligned in your business.

If you don’t trust yourself, it’s going to be really difficult to step fully into the role of CEO. Unfortunately, it’s common for women in leadership to overlook this need to trust in themselves. They’re afraid to go all in.
In today’s episode, I’m sharing why learning to trust yourself enables you to be the CEO that you desire to be, the importance of knowing who you are at your core and how that affects your growth, and trusting yourself enough to try new things and put yourself out there.
Learning to trust yourself is an ongoing journey toward alignment as the CEO of your business, but it can change everything!

Learning about yourself, digging into your Human Design or your Enneagram, figuring out what works for you and what doesn’t—that can be really fun. But if you’re not taking action on what you learn, you’re not going to get very far.
When you’re not showing up as the leader of your business, you’re not in alignment with yourself or your clients.
In today’s episode, I’m sharing three practical tips that you can do this week to further step into your CEO role. When you learn to delegate, embrace your expertise, and apply what you’ve learned about yourself to your business, that’s a game changer for growth.

I’ve been in the online business world since 2016, and I’ve learned a lot along the way—about myself, about what I want for my business, and about who I want my clients to be. This year, I’m focusing on three specific business development practices, and I ‘m explaining why this is my 2023 focus.
In today’s episode, I’m talking about fine tuning my offer suite, repurposing and being more intentional about content, and enhancing the client experience. These three areas are important to how I want my business to grow.
No matter what stage of your own business you’re in, these tips will help you understand the importance of focusing on what is important to you and making sure that your business is aligned with who you are as a person.

It’s a new year, and I’m excited about the prospects and growth to come. At the end of each year, I choose a word of the year for the new year to come. I’m sharing my 2023 word of the year with you all in this episode.
With my word of the year, I’m focusing not on anything new, but on supporting what I already have going in my business and making sure that it aligns with what I want for myself, both professionally and personally.
My hope for you is that you spend some time getting really clear on what success means to you—not on how you think it should be defined or based on others’ thoughts and values. My hope is that 2023 is the year that you continue to uncover the truest version of yourself and show up as that person the best that you can every day.

How we define success is often influenced by those around us, society, the industry that we work in—outsiders whose opinions aren’t really relevant to our sense of self. The most important factor in your success and how you operate as a leader is you.
Today’s guest is Nicole Kalil, a coach, podcast host, author, and speaker, who I met at a retreat where we bonded over wanting less with intention instead of more, more, more. She’s here today to chat with me about what it looks like to embrace our own definition of success.
In today's episode, Nicole also shares why it’s important to lead yourself, get out of your comfort zone, and adopt a growth mindset. She also gives us her best advice on what you can do today to start building trust and confidence in yourself and what you want for your business.

During this season, everyone is reflecting on their year—how it went, what they want more of, goals for next year. As an entrepreneur, the journey is full of ups and downs, and you may be wondering if you’re “cut out” for the role you’ve taken on as CEO of your business.
In today’s episode, I’m sharing why it’s important to do your inner work in order to have the success you want in your business. Reflecting on what feels right, what alignment looks like for you, your definition of success—all these things can help you to become a more empowered leader. And if you’re not doing these things, it can be easy to feel like entrepreneurship isn’t right for you.
Sure, a 9-5 job comes with stability, and if that’s what you want, you should follow what feels right. But if becoming a badass CEO is what you want, you can do it with a growth mindset, clear vision and goals, and by finding a way to sell your services that feels aligned.

No matter where you are in your business, if you want to grow strategically, you’ve got to have some kind of planning in place for the future. There are really traditional ways you can do this, but that’s not the only approach, or even the best for everyone.
Over the years, I’ve refined my annual planning approach and figured out what works well for me and my business, and in today’s episode, I’m going to share my step-by-step process.
Planning for the year ahead should be rooted in your core values and vision for your business. By reflecting on the current year, choosing a word for the next year, and creating a roadmap for your business, you will find more alignment and be able to build your business in a way that supports what you want for your life.

In business, we are so used to a go-go-go mentality. Climb the ladder. Work long, hard hours to get ahead. Burn yourself out. And all for what? At the end of the day, is a lot of money accompanied by misery and exhaustion what we want out of life?
In today’s episode, I’m chatting with transformational coach Gina DeVee about bringing feminine energy into your professional and personal life. Gina shares her story from broke and in debt to owning a multimillion dollar business. Did it take work? Of course. But by prioritizing feminine principles, she is living an abundant life on her terms.
When you are open to receiving, when you believe you can achieve what you want, when you speak it out loud, when you visualize it—you can make your dreams happen.

I regularly meet with a group of women who are leaders in my industry. We share ideas, hash out frustrations, and lift each other up. It’s one of the most positive experiences in my professional life.
Many people might see us as “competitors,” and it’s certainly easy to view your peers as competition. The truth is that we have different business models, individual experiences, and unique expertise that set us apart, even though we’re in the same space.
In today’s episode, I’m sharing the value of building relationships with your peers, and why it’s important to find communities and circles that feel right for you. Building relationships is not only a great way to have trusted connections that you can bounce ideas off of and share wins with, it is also an opportunity for networking, referring, and growing your business.

If you’ve never invested in a program or mentorship, you might question if anyone would want to invest in a similar offering from your own business. Or maybe you don’t think you know enough or that you’ve refined your offer enough or made your sales page appealing for a large audience.
While there’s nothing wrong with slick offers or gorgeous landing pages, it’s not a requirement for you to launch your product. That voice in your head saying “it’s not good enough yet” is just Imposter Syndrome talking.
In today’s episode, I’m sharing how investing in yourself and understanding the benefits of having a mentor or a coach, taking courses to amplify your business, or prioritizing growth can help you see the benefits of what you’re selling and quell the Imposter Syndrome voices that are holding you back.
Once you’ve experienced investing in yourself, it’s so much easier to see the benefits and confidently share your own offers and expertise with others, without letting little excuses or fears get in the way.

When the going gets tough, you might find yourself wanting to throw in the towel. You lose a client, you worry about raising your prices when there’s inflation, you just don’t know if you can keep going.
In today’s episode, I’m sharing what to do when things feel hard or constrictive in your business. The answer is not to quit; it’s to be adaptable. Scarcity is very real, but so is the flip side which is opportunity—whether it’s adjusting a retainer with a current client, or being open to new clients and situations that are in alignment.
When the going gets tough, a little flexibility goes a long way.

If it feels like something isn’t working in your business, it’s important to get really honest with yourself. Don’t ignore those little nudges telling you something is wrong; take some time to get to the root of the problem.
In today’s episode, I’m sharing some questions to ask yourself when things feel off, how getting to know yourself as a leader can bring better alignment in your business, and why stepping away from the day-to-day can help bring clarity for the future.
Whether it’s your business model or your offerings that feel misaligned, when you get really honest with yourself about what you want, you’ll know the steps you need to take to make it happen. There’s no shame if things aren’t working. There’s an opportunity to create something that works better for you.

Sales is something every entrepreneur has to engage in—and often something that feels terrifying or intimidating. No one wants to come across as sleazy or pushy or overbearing, and often, that’s how people think of sales.
That is not how selling has to be.
In today’s episode, I’m sharing a recent experience I had that I think is a helpful reframe for how to approach sales. It doesn’t have to be overly complicated; it’s about engaging in authentic conversation, asking questions, and genuinely wanting to help someone.

Burnout is a real thing. And it can manifest in a huge number of different ways. If you’re not taking the time to rest and recharge, you’re going to notice burnout creeping up on you and keeping you from the life that you desire.
In today’s episode, I’m sharing how to recognize the signs of burnout and make shifts in your business and schedule, as well as the importance of taking time to rest and recharge.

As business owners, we’re constantly tweaking our processes and trying to figure out how to sustainably scale. We have goals for higher revenue, shorter hours, vacations where we actually go on vacation, and more time with family. It can feel like you’re constantly working toward something that will always be a work in progress.
You may wonder, will I ever be content?
In today’s episode, I’m talking about how I’ve achieved contentment in my business, where I still have room for growth, and how to recognize contentment as a journey.

Coaching is similar at its foundation. And because of that, it can be easy to look around in your area of expertise and see others who are doing similar work to you. It can be easy to get in your head about whether or not you should even move forward with your offering.
In today’s episode, I’m talking about celebrating your uniqueness (and others’), getting clear on your values, and sharing your story with your audience. Your experiences, personality, and approach all make your offering something completely its own.
Let who you are and your values shine through in your messaging and marketing so that the right people will see your uniqueness and want to work with you. It’s your story—not the fact that you’re a coach, but the parts about you that are relatable—that will draw in your dream clients.

If you’ve ever seen the marketing strategy where someone shares how they booked 10 new clients or did $10,000 in sales all while hiking through Europe or drinking cocktails on the beach, you may be wondering … How?
The truth is that what it really takes to create a thriving, sustainable business is not always shared in marketing strategies. It’s misleading to think that someone is running their business while they hang out on the beach.
In today’s episode, I’m sharing how important processes are to the sustainability of your business. The thing that allows you to have more time freedom is putting in the work to make sure that your business is running smoothly, whether it’s hiring a team or getting client systems in place.
When you prioritize processes, you’re building something that feels good for future you and for the future version of your business.

Private coaching can be a real game changer for your business or personal development—as long as it’s with the right person. When it comes to private coaching, you want someone who is going to provide accountability and who truly cares about your journey and your growth, not someone who sees you as just another transaction on their spreadsheet.
It’s important to be able to identify your values and seek out a coach who is aligned with your needs, desires, and goals. I’ve had both fantastic and terrible coaching experiences, and in today’s episode, I’m sharing with you what to look for and what to avoid when it comes to identifying the right private coach for you.
I want you to feel confident investing in private coaching. Taking the time to really get clear about what you’re looking for, research coaches and ask questions, and follow your intuition on the emotional connection will yield a private coaching experience that feels supportive and expansive.

I am so excited for you to hear this episode with my friend Latrice Prater. Latrice now runs an agency that works with business women to help them build their systems and operations. She also works as an ADHD success strategist, helping others to understand how to find their strengths and craft a business and schedule that works for their unique needs.
But, before her ADHD diagnosis, Latrice jumped from job to job when she got bored, and never fully understood why she couldn’t settle on one thing. Her diagnosis helped her to understand that she has to do work that truly lights her up. She learned everything she could about how her neurodiversity affects her specifically—and how to see it as a gift.
In this episode, she shares how her core values and knowing her worth impact the work she does and the clients that she works with. She uses her individuality to her advantage, plays to her strengths, delegates what isn’t for her, and runs a business her way.
I hope you love these inspiring words from this powerhouse entrepreneur and follow her example by embracing your own unique traits and personality to build a one-of-a-kind, fulfilling life and business that works for you.

I am so honored to have Meg Burrage, my online friend and brilliant business woman, on the podcast today. Meg discovered the online marketing world while she was pregnant and was determined to leave her corporate job behind after maternity leave. After taking one course and then learning by helping others set up and market their own courses, Meg finally took the plunge and developed her own program.
But her transition wasn’t linear or easy. Meg learned about hiring employees (and letting go of employees), shifting business structures and plans, finding a partner, and acquiring clients on the go, which meant she overcame some steep learning curves on the way. So today, she’s sharing her wisdom and knowledge with us.
Creating a business that allows for freedom and flexibility through lifestyle launching and focusing on creating a product that’s available instead of completely perfect has always been a priority for Meg.
Crafting an individual launch strategy that can work for you and can provide a constant revenue stream can completely transform your business. Meg is here to remind us that there is no perfect way to launch your course.
You can do what works for you and what feels good in your life, whether that means moving to the Caribbean just to see what it’s like for a few months like Meg, turning down clients and projects that don’t feel in alignment with your business, or even just accepting that you’re more comfortable finding partners instead of employees for your business.
You can create a business that is in alignment with your life, your goals, and your personality, and this episode with Meg will inspire you to do just that.

When it comes to marketing, many people assert that they’re “bad at it.” It feels scary. They don’t know where to start. They think they have to be constantly creating new content, and that just leads to burn out. There are so many platforms and methods for marketing your business—it can feel overwhelming.
But marketing doesn’t have to be this big scary thing.
In today’s episode, I’m sharing with you a simple marketing strategy that makes it easy to put yourself out there. If you’re relying mostly (or solely) on referrals, consider this method as a way to diversify your strategies. It all boils down to documenting your work. When you take the time to write down what is happening in your business in the moment—what you do for your clients, their challenges and how you solve them, their wins, their aha moments—you’re creating opportunities for marketing.
Marketing isn’t only about numbers and data. It’s not just about how many clients you serve, but how you serve them. This is what people want to hear about and hope they relate to you and your business, and it’s how you’ll attract the right clients that you want to work with.

Emily started her business on a bit of a whim and is now doing multiple six-figures in revenue a little over two years since she took the leap. While this might sound like an overnight success story, it’s anything but.
Emily understood early on the importance of accepting support as she grew her business. She found me and knew that a business coach would help her work through the growing pains. She hired a team so that she could scale her business and still have time to travel and spend time with her family.
On top of all that, Emily is a go-getter who doesn’t let fear hold her back. She takes risks in her business because she knows they will bring great rewards. And she learns from the lessons that come up along the way.
There’s no magic wand you can wave to make your business a success. It takes hard work, a good support team, and systems in place. It takes curiosity, a willingness to learn, and being open to the opportunities and challenges that come your way.
Whether you’re just starting out or in the process of growing your business, this episode will inspire you to build a prosperous and rewarding career as an entrepreneur.

“Just be consistent and you’ll be successful!”
I think every entrepreneur has heard this at some point in their career.
Consistency is an important part of your business, but it’s easy to get caught up in it to the point of burnout. Post on social media every day. Answer every single comment and DM. Be there for your audience 24/7.
Consistency is about more than just showing up on social media. Consistency is about showing up for your audience or your clients, yes, but it’s also about showing up for yourself.
As a CEO, you have a lot to juggle between prioritizing your personal and your business needs. Remember that paying attention to what you need is a form of consistency. Whether you need a day for admin work or you need a full-on break, it’s about checking in with yourself and making sure that your consistency aligns with your goals, your values, and your boundaries.
Consistency is about showing up—but it doesn’t have to look the same every day or even week to week. It’s not black and white. Understanding the nuances of what it means to you and for you will help you go from resisting the idea to moving forward in a way that benefits you and your business.

It’s been 60 days since our move to Florida, and I have taken that time to really reflect on the changes in our life (and the things that haven’t changed!)
One thing I’ve lost track of in the last few years of running my business is the ability to prioritize myself, and this move has given me the opportunity to reset and recalibrate how I look at self-care.
I’ve been making small changes to my self-care practices for several years, but it’s sometimes hard to see the improvements in my life without taking time to look back. And this move has given me the opportunity to do that and think about how I want to ramp up my self-care going forward.
Of course not everyone is going through the major life changes that I have. But, what small changes are you going through that give you an opportunity to improve the way you take care of yourself? Maybe your kids are starting daycare or you’re starting a new exercise program. Improving the way you prioritize yourself just one percent will make you a better business owner and coach (and person and family member.)
Prioritizing ourselves and then giving ourselves time to actually make progress and shift our mindset is key to moving forward in our personal growth and also in our business.
Finding these moments to create new habits and new routines is what has allowed me to create a sustainable business and step into my best CEO self, and it will transform your life too.

How does the word “marketing” make you feel?
Does it get you excited to jump on your Instagram stories and talk about your business? Or does it make your skin crawl?
Many business owners hold fears and limiting beliefs about marketing. They’re afraid they don’t have the right formula, the right message, or the right personality to market their services and grow their businesses.
But good, sustainable marketing isn’t about the formula. It’s about understanding yourself, your business, and the impact you can have on your clients’ lives, and then showing up and talking about it.
Anyone – including you – can learn to appreciate marketing and do it with confidence. It just takes a mindset shift.

I’m giving myself permission to experience change.
In the past month, my family and I have moved across the country (for the fourth time since I started my business).
And while a move of that magnitude is always a bit stressful, it’s also been incredibly eye-opening. It’s taught me to enjoy the present and give myself space to adjust. It’s taught me to be protective of my energy and my time.
More than anything, it’s made me incredibly grateful for this business that can move and grow with me and my family.
If I can build a sustainable, adaptable business like this, so can you. So let’s get started.

You don’t need another program.
You don’t need another certification or business course or endorsement on LinkedIn.
No, what you require to succeed is already within you. What you need is someone to help you see that power, unleash it, and use it to your greatest advantage.
When I first started working with Nina, she knew she was skilled, but she had no idea what she was capable of. Months later, she’s finally stepped into her power, transformed her career, and embraced her identity as a CEO.
So before you go enrolling in yet another program, look inward. You’ll be surprised what you find.

I don’t buy the “million-dollar business” narrative.
Which isn’t to say I don’t think you should shoot for a million-dollar business. If that’s what your soul desires (not your ego), go for it.
But I don’t believe that your business has to make seven figures to be successful. And my own business is living proof.
My business affords the lifestyle I want to lead. It allows me to be flexible, to spend time with my family, and to remain personally involved in every aspect of my work.
So I love my little “lifestyle business” because it aligns with my version of success. Does yours?

I’ll be the first to admit that there’s no shortage of coaches in the online business world.
But that just means it’s more important than ever to find a coach who really gets you.
Someone who knows where you’re coming from and understands where you want to be. Someone who will guide you gently in the right direction while also trusting your individual path. Someone who agrees with–and lives in accordance with–your core values.
That connection might not be immediate. It might take a while for you to really open up to your coach. But the right connection can make all the difference–both in your mindset and your business growth.
So what do you say? Ready to get started?

How do we look at what we’ve built and then create offers or opportunities that aren’t in direct correlation to our output but will increase our revenue? That’s the true essence of scaling.
A lot of times in business, you’ll hear these two terms interchangeably: growth and scaling.
The truth is that these concepts aren’t all that similar.
You can have growth without scaling but to scale your business and take it to that next level, you’ll have to understand what it means to scale.
You’ll have to learn and put scaling techniques into practice to ultimately grow your bottom line while keeping the joy and running a business that you love.

If I asked you to open up your business bank account right now, how would you feel?
Uncomfortable? Defensive? Downright scared?
I’ve met beginner business owners and seven figure CEOs alike who aren’t confident in their ability to manage their money. Even those with proof of their financial success–massive profits, sold-out launches, healthy savings accounts–get uneasy when they have to face their numbers.
In a way, it’s natural. But learning to consistently appreciate, manage, and make money is part of stepping into the role of empowered CEO, the next chapter on your business journey.
You deserve all the abundance that comes your way. It’s time you started believing it.

I know it’s tempting to slip into autopilot.
To automate your processes. To fall into a pattern. To forget to check in and adjust.
But there are certain systems in your business that you just can’t forget about. They might not be the most fun items on your to-do list, but they’re vital to your growth and success.
For me, this means keeping an eye out for opportunities to improve every part of my business. I’m always asking my clients for feedback, connecting one-on-one with my audience, and seeking new ways to serve my people. These are the things I can’t see myself automating, the things that keep my business growing and evolving.
So go ahead. Take a few items off your to-do list. But make sure you keep the really important ones.

As women in business, one of the biggest hurdles and challenges we often think we’re facing is in terms of sales and marketing. What if I told you that wasn’t actually what you're facing? What if instead, it was actually your mindset? I hear this time and time again, “I need help with sales,” “I need help marketing my business,” but when you dig deep, and really peel back the layers you’ll often find that what people really need is confidence that pours over into those areas.
If you’ve ever felt unsure about your role as a business owner or your alignment with your work and business, this is the episode for you.

Sometimes, growth has nothing to do with money.
In the online business community, we’re so obsessed with chasing the big numbers, hitting seven figures, and running the race to the top.
But in real life, growth isn’t always about numbers.
Growth means becoming more–more aligned, more confident, more rested, more balanced. It means getting closer to your vision, your long-term goals, your purpose. It means defining your own version of success growing into it.
Revenue is great, but not at the expense of your personal growth. So rest, connect, and keep growing.

Can you embody the “my business, my way” mindset and still ensure excellent customer care?
Of course, you can. It IS possible to have a business that serves you and your clients very well.
Lately, I’ve noticed that customer service seems to be a bit of a dying art, but it doesn’t have to be that way.
Sometimes you need to take a step back and look at what’s really working in your business, especially within your client experience and learn how you can showcase that.
This will empower you to stand up even more confidently in your bold, leadership position and to say, “I’m a badass AND I take really good care of my people.”

Are you ready to step into a more aligned version of your CEO self? There are a few small tweaks and shifts you can make to start to embody your next-level version of yourself.
Your path doesn’t have to (and won’t) look like everyone else’s so you have to let go of the idea that it will look like how Z, Y, Z person did it.
Instead of taking the safe way out, it’s time to examine what feels good to you and what makes sense for yourself and your business.
It’s time to stop downplaying who you are and what you’re capable of accomplishing as the CEO and leader of your business.

Do you truly embody the role of CEO in your business?
I don’t mean the typical corporate CEO archetype. I mean the CEO you desire for your business, the version of yourself you strive to be in all areas of your life.
Becoming a CEO isn’t something that happens overnight. It doesn’t come with your business license or first sale. It’s a journey you take in bettering yourself–as an entrepreneur, a boss, and a person.
Even after several years in business, I recognize that I’m still on my journey to becoming the CEO I want to be. Every day, I work to better myself, both in- and outside of my work. I pursue my passions, take care of my body, and (most importantly) seek support when I need it.
It’s about time you stepped into your power, as well. It’s a long road, so start today.

What’s happening inside your body affects every aspect of your life: your energy, your stress levels, your sleep, and even your business. Think about it. If you don’t feel your best, how can you perform your best?
A while back, I started digging deeper into why I wasn’t feeling my best–why I was bloated, tired, and stressed out. I discovered the topic of gut health, and when I dug a little deeper, I discovered Dr. Heather Finley.
Heather is a registered dietician, gut health expert, and sought-after speaker covering everything from disordered eating to constipation. She’s a firm believer that gut health is key to creating balance in your health and life.
If you’re feeling sluggish, bloated, or even “backed up” (yes, I went there), trust your gut. You’d be surprised what a difference it can make.

There’s a wealth of information out there on how to grow your business. It’s a blessing and a curse.
On one hand, there are so many coaches, educators, and entrepreneurs willing to share what they know and guide you as a business owner.
On the other hand, each of those people has a different method, and it’s sometimes hard to know who to trust.
But before anyone else, you have to trust yourself.
In the past few years, I’ve learned that the best way to grow your business is to lean into your intuition. Take bits and pieces of what you learn online, try what feels aligned, and trust yourself as a business owner. What works for everyone else might not work for you. Trust that you know what’s best for your business.
So don’t force it. Flow with it.

Change is hard.
Sometimes, it feels impossible to break out of the day-to-day operations of your business. Even small tweaks to your systems can feel like massive shifts in your work and life.
But a successful business–a sustainable business–is meant to evolve.
Take a day to stop and think about what’s really happening inside your business. What’s working? What’s taking up too much of your time? Which offers light you up, and which could you do without?
Then, make changes. Start small. Open yourself up to new possibilities for your life, your business, and your inner self.
While the individual changes seem sudden, reimagining your work is a life-long pursuit. Embrace it as part of the journey.

I’ve always known who I am.
I’ve always had a strong sense of what I like, what I don’t like, what I want, and who I want to be.
But in creating such a solid identity for myself, I sometimes close myself off from new possibilities. In focusing so hard on the path in front of me, I sometimes don’t notice the detours.
The new experiences I could have. The open doors in my business. The ways I could realign myself with what I want.
Recently, I’ve learned to open myself up to these possibilities. I’ve given myself permission to reimagine–my vision, my business, and my identity. And in doing so, I’ve become more true to myself and my life’s purpose.
The path you’ve chosen isn’t the only one, and you’re allowed to reimagine your journey and everything that’s possible for you. Here’s your permission slip.

My Word of the Year for 2022 is allow.
Allow for ease. Allow for flexibility. Allow for freedom.
For most of my life, I’ve kept a tight grip on my career. I’ve attempted to control fate, to plan every step of my journey.
And while this system has gotten me this far, I’ve also seen what my business can do when I give it room to breathe. When I step back, become flexible, and work in the way that comes naturally to me, the pieces fall into place.
I get flooded with messages from ideal clients. I break my own income records. And best of all, I feel great doing the work.
So this year, I’m releasing control and allowing myself and my business to grow. As we get into the swing of the new year, I invite you to do the same. You’ll be amazed what a little breathing room can do.

Providing done-for-you services can sometimes feel like running on a treadmill. You’re working hard, putting in the energy, but never really moving forward.
So how do you scale your business, increase your income, and ditch the overwhelm? Try consulting.
After years of working as a virtual assistant and online business manager, I realized I was meant for more. I desired a lighter workload and more high-level work, work that would get me excited to sit down at my desk every day.
I found that in consulting. Now, instead of running on the done-for-you treadmill, I get to support high-level business owners with their strategies and help them create plans to grow their own businesses, all while scaling my own further than I ever thought possible.
If you’re looking for that new opportunity, the next big thing for your business and your life, here it is. You’ve got knowledge that’s worth sharing, so why not make money while you do it?

When you think of the word “pivot,” what comes to mind? Leaving something behind? Abandoning an idea? Wasted time?
When I think of pivoting, I think of one thing: progress.
I’ve unfortunately watched so many business owners spend years working towards goals that no longer felt aligned with them. They cling to their original dreams instead of pivoting to something they might enjoy more.
But when you give yourself permission to pivot, you open yourself and your business up to so much more growth. The time, energy, and money you spent on your original dream isn’t wasted; it’s a necessary step on your business journey.
So here’s your sign to practice self-trust and make that pivot you’ve been avoiding. You're in charge, after all. You deserve a business you love.

There came a point while I was working as an OBM that I felt I hit a wall.
I’d started reaching consistent $8k months, but I could feel myself burning out. I was a wife, mother to a newborn, and overworked entrepreneur elbows-deep in client work every day. It was exhausting, and it wasn’t sustainable.
Then, on a whim, I offered a consulting package to a client. They snatched it up without hesitation, and my business model has never been the same since.
Through offering consulting, I’ve been able to scale to $10k and $20k months without adding extra work to my plate. And not only has my business grown, but so has my confidence. Every day, I’m sought out for my expertise and treated as an equal by high-powered businesswomen. There’s no better feeling.
So if you’re on the fence about offering consulting, here’s your sign. Your knowledge is worth something. Get out there and share it.

So many of my clients come to me desperate to attract more clients to their offers.
But when we really dig in, we find that the issue isn’t their offers. It’s their energy.
Long before your ideal clients fall in love with your offer, they need to fall in love with you–your magnetism, your creativity, your messiness. Once they do, the actual container is secondary. They’re already sold on working with you.
If you want to attract these clients–the ones who will fall madly in love with the business owner you are–you have to show up consistently and authentically. That’s the kind of marketing that draws people in and builds the know, like, trust factor.
So get excited about what you have to offer. Get real with your audience. Talk about your business, and when you feel like you’re talking about it too much, talk some more. If you’re lit up about your offers, you’ll spark that same excitement in your audience.

Do you ever open your calendar, see a week full of calls, and feel a creeping sense of dread?
It seems like even the most extroverted business owners get sick of taking calls. Between selling to prospective clients, meeting with current clients, and collaborating with other business owners, it’s easy to feel drained and overwhelmed.
But is it really the calls making you feel this way? Or is it the idea of these calls?
Many of us carry the trauma of our corporate years into our own businesses. The years of feeling unheard and unappreciated create a sense of dread around all meetings. Before we’ve even logged into Zoom, we’ve convinced ourselves the call won’t go well.
But you aren’t working in corporate anymore. You’re the boss here. And when you learn to distinguish the exhausting calls from the ones that truly energize you, you can start attracting the kind of people who make you excited for meetings.

The new year is still a few weeks away, but my feed is already full of New Year’s goals:
Huge income months. Massive program launches. Brand new products. Everywhere you turn, you’ll see fellow business owners are caught up in the “season of goal setting.”
But personally, I don’t set goals. In fact, I truly believe they can damage your business, your growth mindset, and your self-worth.
The trouble arises when we unfortunately (but inevitably) don’t reach one of the goals we set for ourselves. When that happens, we focus on what we didn’t achieve, completely forgetting to honor the growth and knowledge we gained along the way.
So before you start writing down your 2022 goals, let’s work on making them more intentional and progress-driven. That way, no matter the outcome, you’ll be appreciative of what you learned along the way.

As we near the end of the year, I begin to look ahead.
And while I don’t believe in overworking myself in Q4 to prepare for the coming year, I do believe in setting my intentions for the future. I know myself, and I know that, once I commit to a vision, I will stop at nothing to achieve it.
The singular practice that has aided me most is my “word of the year.”
Defining my word of the year is non-negotiable. It sets me on the right course, provides a jumping-off point for the new year. Even as my life and business shift, my word remains the one unchanging waypoint I can count on.
So before the new year begins, set your intention and define your own word of the year. Commit to it, share it, and see yourself thrive.

Running a business isn’t always pretty.
There are long nights and early mornings, overwhelming launches and unsettlingly slow months. There are days when I can’t show up for my business even if I wanted to, and there are certainly days I just don’t want to.
In those moments, there are two options: power through or step away.
Luckily, I”ve built a business that can survive without me when it must. When life pulls me away, I lean on my systems. I lean on my team. While I rest and recuperate, my business continues to grow. And when I’m ready to return, it’s right there waiting for me.
Building a business you can step away from isn’t easy, but entrepreneurship never is. Are you ready to do the work?

I’ve experienced firsthand the value of working with a coach.
I’ve witnessed the growth that comes with having an experienced CEO on your team. I’ve been empowered by communities of women on the same journey as me. I’ve watched my business grow in more ways than I could have imagined.
And more than that, I’ve experienced the intangible results of working with a coach, the results that you feel.
Now, when I coach my own students, I provide them with that same transformation–from unsure business owner to aligned CEO. As I help them scale their businesses, I also help them uplevel their mindsets. Every day, I get to watch their confidence blossom.
The right coach, the right program, and the right community can truly inspire you. Are you ready for a glimpse of your transformation?

When I started my own business, it affected every part of my life.
My friendships. My marriage. And most importantly, my relationship with myself.
It hasn’t been easy. There have been times when I wanted to give up, times when the mindset blocks seemed too great to overcome. But with the support of my family and husband, I powered through.
As my business has gotten stronger, so has my marriage. In the shift from corporate employee to CEO, I’ve discovered exactly how much I’m capable of and my husband got to see a side of me he never had. Every step I took in my business brought us closer together and closer to the freedom we’d been longing for.
If you’re in the midst of that shift yourself, prepare for change. Prepare for growth. Prepare to become a different person–a more confident, resilient version of yourself. I know I did.

Looking back, I spent way too much time playing small.
For years, I couldn’t seem to cross that $10k month threshold. No matter how hard I worked, no matter how much I wanted it, it was always just out of reach.
Eventually, though, I made a major shift–in my strategy, in my finances, and most importantly, in my mindset.
Since then, I’ve scaled far beyond those $10k months I used to dream about. And every time I surpass a new income goal, I feel even more aligned with my purpose.
If you want to scale, it’s time to make a leap, take a chance, and invest in yourself. That’s where the real growth happens.

I’ve never been comfortable with slowing down. I felt guilty taking days off, treating myself, and even just tapping the breaks in my business.
But as my business has grown, I’ve learned to create - and embrace - white space in my schedule. I’ve seen the difference that a period of rest can make.
It’s so tempting to keep pushing, to accomplish one goal and immediately move on to the next.
Slow down. Take a look around. Appreciate how far you’ve come and rest up for everything that’s in store.
You have permission to take a break, to appreciate all you’ve done so far, and to give yourself time to recover. You - and your business - deserve it..

Fall is my favorite time of year, and I’ve come to embrace it for what it really is: a season of transition and transformation.
And because this fall also marks my six-year anniversary of leaving corporate, I’ve been doing a lot of reflecting...
On what I’ve learned, how I’ve grown, and what I wish I’d have done differently.
Slowly, I’ve learned to embrace messy action and celebrate the wins, big and small. Today, I’m reflecting on my highs and lows with you, and I challenge you to do the same.
Give yourself permission to let go of what’s passed and really appreciate all you’ve accomplished. You’ve earned it.

The recent outage of Facebook and Instagram inspired me to reflect on why email lists are so important and I want you to remember this…
Challenge yourself to look at those messages of what you “should be doing” with a grain of salt.

Believing in yourself is a pivotal moment for you. Are you believing in yourself and the progress you’re making?
When you want to become that version of yourself that you know exists, it takes this type of belief.
You have to embrace the mindset shifts that you’ve been practicing and fully step into who you’re meant to be.
It’s time to let go of that scarcity mindset and that feeling that your self-worth is wrapped up inside of your work.
Those thoughts are no longer serving you and embodying your true CEO-self is more within reach than you could’ve imagined.

I want you to truly grasp onto this idea: you don’t have to do it all on your own.
If the thought that you do have to do this by yourself has crossed your path, that’s scarcity speaking and you don’t have to listen.
This couldn’t be further from the truth! You need support. Not just in your business but your personal life too.
Support can look like many things: it could be a graphic designer who saves you hours of time and energy on Canva. It could be a dry cleaning service that helps you with your laundry.
Delegation is one of the most valuable assets we have and if you haven’t begun to embrace this fully, there is no better time to start.

Where do you fall in terms of your mindset around marketing and sales?
A lot of people will say, “I hate marketing!”, or “I am not a salesperson at all!”
That’s probably not exactly true. There are some changes you can make to start to build momentum forward. You deserve to have the business of your dreams.
It all depends on how much effort you’re willing to put out there and how much you truly believe in yourself. You can become the CEO that you’ve always visualized being.

How does your business run today? Have you ever stumbled across a scenario where you thought you had every “if this happens, then I will do this” situation figured out?
You have it all mapped out until you realize, this wasn’t in the handbook!
How can you take the steps to fail-proof your business when challenges arise?
Our businesses are ever-evolving and changing so we have to learn to give ourselves grace when these things do happen because it’s inevitable, problems will happen.
We’re human and the best thing you can do is to lean in with a growth mindset and embrace what you CAN learn and figure out how you can prevent similar challenges in the future.

The theme that I’ve noticed often holds people back from becoming the next level version of themselves: change.
This is a topic that comes up in my coaching sessions and even in conversations with my peers.
If you want to become the CEO of your business, change is necessary and guaranteed.
How can we make small shifts to impact who we are? How do we become the woman that we strive to be?
If you’re not yet embracing evolution and being a person who makes changes, now is the time to start.

When was the last time you did an audit of your motivation? Are your motivators strategic? Is it yours and yours alone?
You want to make sure that your motivation is one that serves YOU well, not someone else. If you want to obtain the success that you deserve in your business, your motivators have to serve you.
So many of us fall into the trap where we’ve been influenced by those around us, whether it’s that guru on Instagram or your aunt… the fact remains that we gather motivators from other people and adopt them as our own.
It’s time to strategically audit your motivation and ensure that your motivators are coming from you and you only!

You have the power to shift the way you look at success. Success isn’t only achieved when you reach your milestone or end goal.
Success is all of the little moments.
You have to reframe the way you look at it or you will spend too much time feeling unsuccessful. Enjoy the achievements big and small along your journey.
Do the things that will make you feel successful, whether that’s treating yourself to a well-deserved pedicure every other week or signing up for a Stitch Fix subscription so you can embody that successful founder.
We spend too much time living out someone else’s version of success. Reframing how you view success will change how you show up every day in your business and as your CEO self.

Each and every one of us seems to be striving for more balance. But what does the term “balance” really mean? Is it something we can actually achieve?
I have my own thoughts about what work-life balance means and for the most part, I don’t subscribe to it. It ebbs and flows. It’s ever-changing. The goal should be getting to a place where you can tap into where you fall on the spectrum.
Being mindful and finding ways to rest is not beyond reach! There are a few strategies and exercises you can do every day to help you achieve a more balanced life.
You have to get clear on your core values and what lights you up and brings you joy. This is what will help you balance with more intention and ease.

I’m going to let you in on this word of advice: the strategies may change, the algorithms will change but guess what won’t change? The absolute value of building relationships and networking.
I have a different vantage point from most when it comes to marketing and visibility. I always get asked this question, ‘How in the world do I continue to get a steady flow of new clients?’
It’s all about the art of consistently making an effort to build connections with those around you!
No matter what else you do on your social media, email list, etc. this strategy is the one that will be there for you long-term and will pay huge dividends.
Give yourself permission to put yourself out there, try new things and get at least 1% better each time.

Raise your hand if you despise launching. Does the thought of it give you a knot in your stomach? I have a hunch that I’m not alone in this feeling.
A lot of the business experts in the online space will tell you this or that about launching but I am here to tell you that launching doesn’t have to be stressful or perfect to have outstanding results.
In fact, when you step into your authenticity and let your launch be just as messy (or not messy, if that suits you!) as you want, you will be pretty surprised at the results. If you give yourself the space to show up in a way that’s effortless to you, you might even find yourself saying you don’t mind launches as much as you once thought.
Let’s redefine what we’ve been told about launching and do it in a way that’s more genuine and true to who we are and the business we’re creating.

Every week in my coaching calls, mastermind, Voxer coaching or in my one-on-one coaching, this question comes up. It doesn’t matter if you are on your way to your first 5K or 10K or 20K or beyond. How do I get more sales?
To step into that great role as your CEO self, you HAVE to commit to showing up for yourself and your business. You also have to show up for your current clients. By nurturing and really building relationships with your clients, you can leverage that as a way to get more sales.
It’s not about being on every single platform, running a huge marketing campaign or building a huge Facebook group. It’s about creating real relationships with your current clients and audience.
Getting more sales means making more connections. If you keep showing up and keep doing the work, it is going to pay off. When you truly lead with your heart and caring about people and caring about the services you provide, that's going to help you rise to the top.
If you are ready to take massive action in your business and want the guidance and accountability to get you there, head to www.melissafroehlich.com to find out the ways we can work together.

There is so much taboo around working on weekends, especially in the online space. Business coaches and gurus have long touted the notion that “if you’re working on weekends, it means XYZ,”. That’s simply not true!
You don’t HAVE to make working on the weekends mean anything about you. Let’s shift the way we think about running our businesses outside of “traditional” working hours. When you have clear boundaries and expectations communicated, it makes everything a whole lot smoother.
Just like a doctor is on call for the weekends, there are times in your business where it makes sense for you to work hours that aren’t typical. That’s okay because it’s your choice!
When you give yourself the power to choose, you empower yourself to become a more aligned version of your CEO self.

Do you always feel like you need “more” in business?
This is a trap I’ve seen entrepreneurs fall into time and time again. They say, “I will launch once I’ve done MORE research,” “I will hire once I have MORE systems in place,” and the list goes on.

Are you wondering how consulting could fit into your business?
Today I am joined by my good friend, Kiva Slade, and she is going to be talking about how she added consulting into her business model.
She’s sharing how she did this without burning down her current business model, what resistances came up for her in the process, and she is giving advice on how to know if consulting is something that you would want to add to your own business.
If you have questions about consulting, this is such a great conversation because Kiva and I are getting into it all.
Kiva is our accountability coach for my new program, the Consulting Framework Accelerator. The program is now closed, but you can hop on the waitlist HERE to be the first to be notified when it opens again in the fall!

How do you define success? Did you take your definition from someone else, or have you really taken the time to define what success looks like for yourself?
Today we are going to talk about something near and dear to my heart: the definition of success. More specifically, we are discussing how important it is to have your own definition of it.
If you take nothing else away from this episode, I want you to know that your definition of success is your own. It does not look like anyone else's, and it is uniquely yours.
In this episode, we dive into what it means to define your version of success, the importance of having a good support system along the way and why you need to trust the process even when it looks different than what you were expecting.

Sometimes doing nothing can be just what your business needs to grow. Sound crazy? Hear me out!
Last week we talked about the balance that we're all searching for in terms of growing a business, but also living well in our lives.
This week I want to take that conversation to the next level. I want you to think more about taking time to be still. What do you do to be still while also allowing growth to happen in your business?
We spend a lot of time in our businesses, but we need to make sure that we're carving out space for our energy, creativity, and clarity to come back.

Have you ever lost a sale because you made assumptions about your potential client?
I have! And you'll hear all about it in this episode.
Today I want to talk about marketing, the importance of the educational piece of it, and why we always need to be educating.
We should always be educating about what we do and how we can help our ideal client. We're so close to our own businesses that it can be easy to forget that not everyone knows what we do or the lingo we use. I want to make sure you don't make that mistake! I am covering the importance of educating your potential clients so you can make sure your ideal clients know who you are, what you do, and how you can help them.
I'm going to share a little story with you in this episode about why you should never make assumptions and how they can come back to haunt you when you do. This is such an important episode, so make sure you don’t miss it!

Here’s a question I get asked a lot:
Can you really find dream clients in Facebook groups?
My answer? Absolutely. And that’s what I want to dive into today.
When I was working as a VA and an online business manager, I found some of my most amazing clients in Facebook groups.
Now, I don't want to oversimplify it or suggest that it's so easy to find clients in Facebook groups, because it's not. Just like everything in business, it takes some tweaking and really figuring out what works for you. But if you’re willing to put in the work, Facebook groups can be a fantastic resource for you.
If you’re wondering how to network and connect in Facebook groups so you can find your dream clients, tune in to this week’s show!

Today, I want to talk to you about a topic that is incredibly important as we grow and scale our businesses: BOUNDARIES.
How does that word make you feel?
Does it excite you? Does it make you cringe a little bit because your boundaries aren't as great as you’d like them to be?
Guess what? That only means that you have room to improve!
And here’s the thing. Clients love boundaries! They want to know what their boundaries are so that they can perform at their best.
In this episode, we’re getting into what boundaries really are, why they’re so important, and how you can implement them.
If you’re ready to start building a business around the life you really want for yourself, this episode is going to be one you don’t want to miss.

What does “becoming” actually mean?
I want to get into this because it looks so different for everyone depending on where you are in your journey, and I think it’s healthy to talk about and normalize some of the frustrations that we all face along the way.
My hope is that this discussion will help you to know that you can get past the seasons of overwhelm, and you can reach your goals.
