That Mexican Beer Podcast: Recent Episodes

Its 2020 and life has changed as we know it as Covid-19 has hit humanity with a wallop. My podcast is a bit of a sanctuary in which I try not to mention the name of the virus which has caused a global pandemic and shares its name with a certain Mexican brewed, alcoholic beverage. With nowhere to go and no work to do, I’m in self isolation: Reflective, Recording the unusualness of the new sounds around me; Writing my book and drinking some Not Mexican Beer! Come and join me in my musings and get away from the media frenzy for a few moments.
In this podcast, you find me back in a world we took very much for granted until recent weeks. I’m playing a bluthner grand piano having just tuned it. I made the recording in early March, when Social Distancing was a new and still, incomplete notion. My playing style is very relaxed and I talk a bit about the piano while I’m playing.
Join Usher and I in the secret garden where, by popular request, we go out to capture ambient birdsong, condensed over a couple of cloudy and sunny days, you can hear the difference. The constant is that Usher consistently interrupts the solitude as he bounds around the garden and pesters me for His breakfast.

More ambient sounds as you join me outside where the garden feels like nature has come back to stay. This tranquility is not the norm and causes me to reflect that at some point in this strange chapter we are living in, much of the old normality will return as man made noise takes over once again.
