This is an ancient homily preached on the descent of Christ into hell (hades) to rescue Adam & Eve and their descendants waiting for the Saviour.
Christ's calls us to love one another as He loves us. Impossible without divine assistance. Christ gives us a pledge of His love for us; makes Himself always present with us; and unites us mysteriously with His Passover in one action. The action is the Eucharist.
As the veils in church hide the images of Christ and His Saints, so we recall Christ hid Himself before the Passion.
