Dr. Steffen Heinrich holds a PhD in computer science and robotics and has been developing algorithms and software components for self-driving cars since 2009.
Steffen started out to develop intelligent systems at Freie Universität Berlin focusing on humanoid robots. He has later joined the former DARPA Urban Challenge contender AutoNOMOS Labs run by Prof. Dr. Raul Rojas.
After joining Volkswagen Group in 2012, he has worked in their German and Silicon Valley offices to develop core self-driving capabilities.

Gesche Joost, Professor of Design Research at the Berlin University of the Arts, is a researcher, founder, political advisor, and tech consultant. She focuses her work on digital transformation and its implications on our society both in her research practice and on the policy level. She runs a research lab at the German Research Centre for Artificial Intelligence specialized in human-computer-interaction and wearable computing and is part of the Weizenbaum Institute in Berlin.
From 2014 to 2018, she served as the German government’s Federal Internet ambassador to the European Commission. Since 2015, she is a member of the supervisory board of SAP, ING, and ottobock. In 2016, she founded Calliope gGmbH, a non-for-profit organization offering digital learning to children.

Anja Hendel studied computer science and acquired several years’ experience at the European pharmaceutical wholesaler Celesio AG, now McKesson Europe, and IT consultancy Capgemini. Later she was director of the Innovation Management and Digital Transformations Finance department at Porsche AG and worked in Berlin as Director of Porsche Digital Labs.
Since the beginning of 2020, Hendel supports the diconium management as managing director. One of her key tasks will be to expand the direct collaboration with Volkswagen AG and advise the company on its digitalization ambitions.

Maggie Johnson, the Vice President of Education and University Programs for Google, manages all technical education, content development, and information management programs for Google engineers and operations staff, as well as Google’s K16 educational programs in STEM and Computer science (CS). Maggie has worked to provide engaging, high-quality CS content to middle school students through CS First; modern digital skills and computational thinking to all students through Applied Digital Skills; and, she works closely with key partners in the community to make CS available to all K12 students. Prior to Google, Maggie was teaching faculty and Director of Educational Affairs in the Department of Computer Science at Stanford University where she was responsible for the Undergraduate and Masters programs in Computer Science.

Dr. Gérard Le Lann holds an M.S. in Applied Mathematics (University of Toulouse), an Engineering Degree in Computer Science (ENSEEIHT, Toulouse), and a Ph.D. in Computer Science (University of Rennes). He started his career at CERN, Geneva (Switzerland). At Stanford University (1973-74), working with Professor Vint Cerf, he was involved in the design of what became known as the Internet TCP/IP protocol. He has spent most of his professional career as a Research Director with IRIA (now INRIA).

J. Philipp Schmidt is Director of Digital Learning and Collaboration at the MIT Media Lab, where he leads the Digital Learning + Collaboration Studio. He is also a co-founder and board member of Peer 2 Peer University (P2PU), a non-profit organization that provides access to online higher education through public libraries, and a board member of College Unbound. Philipp served on the founding board of the OpenCourseWare Consortium, co-authored the Cape Town Open Education Declaration, and is an advisor to a number of non-profit and for-profit education projects.
