This season, Paul is delving into the simple truth about what makes managers great.

When Paul saw a short video about Todd, a guy who'd won 'Apprentice of the Year', little did he expect what would happen in the last few seconds of the film. When Todd was asked about the best part of his job he said, "My manager".

At that moment, Paul knew he needed to speak to him. Not Todd, but his manager, Martyn Coles, to find out why Todd said those words.

What Martyn shared was so simple and a masterclass in how to create the perfect manager's mindset.

Are all eyes on you to find a way for your organisation to keep the world turning, from home?

Has the current crisis caused some think – or was it already believed – that flexible working could never work in your organisation? But you know that it can, with the right approach, and time.

Or have previous attempts to explore flexible always run into the same problem...trust; that people will stop working when they’re out of sight?

As time rebel, author, creator of the Diary Detox and now, a podcast called ‘What the FLEX are you doing?’, I wanted to help make flexible working work; not by talking to the individuals who want it, but by talking to the companies who are worried about what it might do to their organisation.

In this, the first episode, I take my dog, LOKI, for a walk in the cotswold countryside and ponder flexible working and what you can do to make it work.

Future episodes will be further walks talking with people from companies who have made flexible working work. To hear their ideas, their learnings and what finally made the difference.

I hope you enjoy it.
