In this week's podcast episode, we're excited to welcome back Richard Ranson, who last came to the show recently. It must have been over a year or two since we last saw him, so we're eager to catch up and see what he's been up to. Not only that, but Richard will also be sharing his valuable insights on two critical topics: menopause in women and mental health in men.
Mental health is an issue that affects us all, and it's crucial to have open and honest conversations about it. In this episode, Alex talks to Richard about how to avoid or help ourselves get better and what we need to look out for. Richard shares excellent advice and tips that can benefit everyone, regardless of gender or age.
We have a whole season of episodes dedicated to healthy living, covering various topics beyond mental health. So, if you want something specific, please check out our older episodes. We hope you find them helpful and informative.
Lastly, it's important to remember that while we strive to provide helpful guidance, we're not medical professionals. Our advice is intended to guide you in the right direction, but we always recommend consulting with your doctor or healthcare provider if you have any concerns or questions about your health. If you have any questions or feedback about the podcast, please let us know - we always appreciate hearing from our listeners!

Alex and Tammy discuss well-being with Charlotte, who is based in Berkshire and works for GymCats. They provide personal and group training to motivate and support individuals. In addition, they offer retreats that aid in discovering one’s inner animal.
We have been invited to join the GymCats team in an ice bath, and we plan to document the experience through filming and podcasting. What do you think about this?

I woke up feeling enthusiastic and ready to tackle the day. Today is my favourite day of the week! It’s time to listen to some exciting music, spend time with my wonderful friends, and become fit in the process! I quickly put on my workout clothes, grab my water bottle, and head out the door.
Upon arrival, I am welcomed by the friendly faces of my workout buddies, and we start exercising right away. The music is loud, the atmosphere is lively, and we’re all pushing ourselves to the brink.
I can’t help but feel grateful for these fantastic women; they motivate me to be the greatest version of myself while also making exercising enjoyable.
I’m looking forward to doing it all over again next Thursday!
There was once a young woman named Emily Ibbott who had a strong interest in health and fitness. She devoted numerous hours each week working out at the gym, constantly striving to improve herself. One day, Emily decided to take on a posing competition to challenge herself and take her fitness journey to the next level.
For months, Emily prepared for the competition by working with a trainer, refining her form, and practising her poses every day. She also made sure to maintain a healthy diet and get enough rest to stay in top physical shape. Emily knew that the competition would be challenging, but she was ready to give it her all.
Following the competition, Emily continued to pursue her passion for health and fitness, inspiring others to do the same. She learned that with dedication and hard work, anything is possible, and she was confident in her ability to tackle any obstacles that may come her way with the strength and determination she gained through her fitness journey.
This week’s episode features Berni and Beckie discussing the topic of diabetes and sight loss in greater detail. Beckie discovers new technology that can aid in the management of diabetes and has several inquiries for Berni. If you have any questions for the team, feel free to email jack@buzzpodcasts.uk.
The role of technology in diabetes care is becoming more important every day. Thanks to recent advancements, people with diabetes can now enjoy better and longer lives. There are a variety of devices and tools available, including Flash glucose monitors, continuous glucose monitors, smart pens, insulin pumps, and closed-loop technology.
There are many personal trainers on social media, but what sets Sonny apart from the rest? Tammy provides a detailed account of his services and what you can expect from working with him. Unlike most trainers who just put you through your paces, Sonny is dedicated to helping you achieve your goals and surpassing them. He has a quirky catchphrase on his Instagram, where he turns his clients into anime characters. If you desire to be in top shape, healthy, and have a muscular physique to flaunt on stage, then Sonny is the perfect trainer for you.
It’s essential to remember that Sonny doesn’t just focus on building muscles; he strives to help you reach your fitness objectives and assist you in attaining them.
This week, our focus is on fitness, and we recently discovered a lady on Facebook who we felt would be a great guest to invite for a chat. During our conversation, she shared her personal journey of how fitness has positively impacted her life, which led her to become a fitness class instructor and teacher. She specializes in teaching a range of classes including boxing fitness, circuit training, rebounding, meditation, and well-being. Tammy, our presenter, is asking all the important questions on your behalf. Through our discussion, we discovered that attending fitness classes can help you to socialize and make new connections while keeping fit. It’s more than just a workout; it’s a community where women support one another.
We are joined by Berni again as she discusses the impact of diabetes on her and her family’s eyesight, and the adjustments they had to make. This is the second installment of a three-part series where individuals with diabetes share their personal experiences on how it affects them. If you have any queries, please reach out to us. In the upcoming third part, we will address common questions that may arise.
About Berni
I am an expert patient with a massive interest in diabetes and technology. I am partially sighted and use many forms of technology to help me manage my diabetes. I enjoy public speaking and have had the opportunity to help HCPs, students in ophthalmology and diabetology, as well as charities learn about the impact of diabetes and sight loss.
I have had opportunities to speak at Universities (City and Oxford) and within Westminster about my experiences. I am particularly interested in helping companies make their products more accessible to those with sight loss.
I have a passion to be an advocate for those who have sight loss and diabetes and am striving to help them live in a world where their needs are included too.
I also pay it forward as much as I can, whether that is sharing knowledge or helping others in a practical way, such as learning Braille.
I recently learned about Mind Body and Pole, a great way to stay fit and healthy. I was impressed to hear about how the business started and its recent move to a new location in Camberley. The owner has worked hard to prepare for the soft opening this week, and I am confident it will succeed.
I also discovered that the presenter, Tammy, has been a Mind Body and Pole client for some time. It’s always interesting to hear about people’s experiences with fitness programs.
Mind Body and Pole has been around since 2011 and is known for providing a unique and personalised experience to all students, regardless of their age, size, or ability. They offer classes for beginners as well as advanced-level students and welcome everyone from the age of 6 and up. It’s a great place to learn and have fun in a friendly environment.
This week’s episode is a must-listen for anyone looking to slim down. Angie Williams from Slimming World Camberley provides expert insights on portion sizes and how to lose weight without sacrificing your favourite foods.
Neil and Tammy also tackle some misleading YouTube videos related to weight loss. With plenty of valuable information to digest, this episode is definitely worth a listen.
In this week’s podcast, we explore the effectiveness of hypnotherapy and answer common questions surrounding it. We provide insight into how hypnotherapy can benefit you and even share some personal fears of our presenters, Neil and Alex. But fear not, solutions are available to help you overcome your own fears. Tune in for an intriguing episode.

Andrea Rimington joins us on this podcast to talk about how she discovered the love of Yoga and how now she teaches it, the following is from her website. The first time I took a yoga class I was very cross and impatient! I had a shoulder injury and yoga was the only “exercise” I could do. I was frustrated at my body for being injured and letting me down. I resented HAVING to do a yoga class to get some exercise – I thought I would be laying down doing nothing. I certainly didn’t think that years later I’d be teaching it!
During that first class I found that yoga was quite challenging, and, more importantly, I found a few seconds where my mind just stopped…It was quite an amazing experience. My inner voice – that voice that tells me that “I can’t” or “I’m not enough” was for once quiet…
Despite this revelation, I still felt I had to punish my body to stay “fit and healthy” and focused solely on the physical postures in my yoga classes, wanting to create picture-perfect poses – like those yoga pictures on Instagram.

What's it like to live with this condition, Eleanor joins us for an open conversation about how she lives her daily life.
Fibromyalgia is a condition that causes widespread pain throughout the body. Fibromyalgia can also cause sleep problems, fatigue and mental or emotional distress. People with fibromyalgia are often more sensitive to pain than those who do not have fibromyalgia.
This referred to as abnormal pain perception processing.
There's no cure for fibromyalgia, but treatments like painkillers, talking therapies and exercise programmes may help ease some of your symptoms.
It's not clear what causes fibromyalgia. It can start after a stressful event like an injury, illness or the death of a loved one.
Imagine what's it like for her as well as a full-time mum, and how she gets through her daily routine, what music brings to her too.

Inspired by Sebastian, a little boy who sadly lost his life to cancer whose wishes for the future inspired his parents to go on and set up the charity and make 'it' happen, as they say, 'There for families of seriously ill children. Always.'
Have a listen to this inspiring tale, hear about the people who work tirelessly to support those families that need the help, hear about the families that are supported and find out where to get the help from if you need it too.
It's also about finding the fun in fundraising and building awareness, so grab a cuppa, take a few quiet moments and tune in, you'll be glad you did.

We tell the story from the beginning of the breakdown, and how she spent hours on her own in her room. How do you break that cycle, she explains how she got through this time, with support of her husband, and daughter?
This lady has achieved so much in last 12 months, by doing her drop-in sessions in Wokingham, helping people with depression and anxiety, and now creating a fab new podcast, called ‘Thoughts Versus Facts’ which is available here at Buzzpodcasts.co.uk
Richard loves to spread the word about Healthy Living and makes lots of podcasts with us. He is very clear and well versed on Nutrition and his brand of choice Mannatech.
Richard reminded us today that food production allows nutrients to slip away through farming techniques, and that we need to be aware to top up. Buy Organic, fresh produce and do not overeat and indulge. Use moderation, and be mindful of your routines and habits. You truly are What you Eat! Later down the line, bad habits will catch up with you.
We discussed the need for greater education in schools for Life Skills, eating and exercise as well as maybe money management.
Another delightful conversation.

Health and fitness have always been a huge part of my life. From starting ballet at the age of 2, performing in dance shows and in my teenage years finding a love of the gym, this gave me a healthy focus.
However, I found I often had back and joint pain but was unsure as to why this was. During my late teenage years, I was diagnosed with minor scoliosis and schmorl’s nodes, I was informed there was no cure or surgery to fix this and I would have to manage the pain. I went to a number of specialists, went through rehabilitation and went right back to the beginning with my fitness programme to regain proper core stability and strength, and exercises to strengthen the area around the spine. I was determined to get back into weightlifting, even though I was advised against it. Over the years with proper treatment the symptoms have eased although still there. My spine has started to straighten slightly, mainly through doing dead hangs daily, regular exercise and very thorough warmups and warm downs of every single joint – which can take time but is definitely worth it.
I always knew I wanted to do something with fitness, but I wasn’t sure what it was until I was spotted in my local gym in 2018 by a person that trains individuals for bodybuilding and bikini fitness which put me on a clear direction. This person is now my current personal trainer and has shown me a way I can combine all of my interests which include fitness, health, fashion and beauty. I put in the effort daily and started properly this year preparing for my first competition.
Next year I will be competing internationally in the top world federations of fitness, including IFBB and WBFF. I am so excited to see what the future holds and can’t wait to start on my journey of competing. Anything is possible when you want it enough and you make it happen!
