It's that time of year again: the time we give into yet another commercial holiday to buy new calendars, new planners, and gym memberships because we were finally permitted by the societal Gods to start over on the 1st of the year. Are you setting goals that are your own, or are you setting goals that seem like the things you SHOULD be doing to be successful in the eyes of society? For me, New Year's Day is a load of horse sh*t and typically yields goals that aren't sustainable or easily attainable. Naturally, because of this, we typically get discouraged, demotivated, and uninspired, and our once AMAZING "New Year New Me" goals are null and void. So, we tell ourselves we'll just try again next year when we're granted permission to start over again. As we start this new month, I encourage you to ask yourself how you want to feel instead of worrying about all the things you need to do and all the goals you need to hit. If you focus on how you WANT to feel, I’m sure you’ll be surprised as to how much your goals or resolutions may change as a result of reframing the thinking behind setting usually arbitrary goals based on societal norms of what’s successful and what’s not. Not sure how to do that? That's what this episode is for, so sit back, relax, and enjoy!
As we enter the holiday season, stress levels typically start to increase, emotions are heightened, and grief tends to feel heavier than usual. Instead of leaning into the busy hustle and bustle that comes with this time of year, it's important to incorporate rituals that help you stay grounded and present. In this month's episode, we'll discuss various ways to incorporate more self-care to enhance your physical and mental space while simultaneously learning how to let go, surrender, and trust the process.
There's always so much to look forward to in the future. Alternatively, once we begin thinking "When this happens in the future, I'll be happier," looking to the future becomes the means to escape the present. By projecting our thoughts to future versions of ourselves and future wants, versions that are by no means guaranteed, we are wasting away the only spec of time that is promised to us: the present moment (duh). Obviously, living in the moment is easier said and done, so this episode walks you through ways you can incorporate more patience and flexibility into your everyday life instead of getting lost and anxious in the "what if's" and "will be's." If you find yourself daydreaming about the future so much so that it's causing you to be impatient or have a hard time breaking out of your rigid routine in an attempt to have as much control over your day as humanly possible, then this episode is for you. So relax, get comfortable, and enjoy!
This month's episode discusses how interior design, mental health, and physical health are all related as well as the meaning and ethos behind moodysolace.
Life is the most beautiful mystery. But sometimes, you can't help but think "What the FCK is the point?" As we grow older, our carefree child-like state eventually turns into debilitating anxiety as our mortality becomes more of a reality. What's the point of joy, happiness, and excitement if the end result always ends with despair? We're all thinking and experiencing the exact same thing, but we don't often have conversations with one another regarding these very human and common emotions. So how do we manage these emotions? I have no fcking idea, but I think this conversation is a good place to start. Happy Listening!
Who are you? Are you happy with who you are or are you a version of yourself that you aren't proud of? Identity constructs are weird and strange, and too often we find ourselves chasing the identity of a person we think we should be instead of stepping into the person we'd authentically love to become. In this episode, we'll discuss ways you can try to tap into your deepest desires and wants in order to become the most expressive and authentic version of yourself. Time to throw social constructs and expectations in the mother fkn trash can, and time to step into the badass version of yourself that you've been doubting. Happy Listening, plebs!
I don't know about you, but I feel like I've been stuck in the same patterns and the same cycles for the last few years. Part of me welcomes change and applies necessary changes to my life, but another part of me stays where it's comfortable and familiar. But, growth does not come from comfortability. Growth happens when you discover new aspects of yourself by trying new hobbies, trying new foods, traveling, exploring your self-expression, and getting out of your comfort zone. That's cool and all, but where do you start? Well, that's what this episode is for. Time to change sht the fck up.
Society, social media, celebrities, movies, and shows all feed us constant images of perfection and happiness. We look at people through a screen wondering why our lives aren't as great as someone else's and wondering why everyone around us seems to be so happy without a flicker of anxiety or depression. The reality is, we're all struggling, but we all do a good f*cking job of hiding it because we've been conditioned to. In this episode, I open up about my most recent mental breakdowns and explain how I've managed to navigate some extremely dark thoughts. You're not alone, peeps. We'll get through this shitstorm together. Happy Listening!
Nostalgia can bring us comfort and peace, or it can bring emotions of longing for things we've lost in our lives. Most of us are either living and dwelling in the past wishing we could go back in time or looking to the future for hope. But, what about the moments in between? Social media is draining our batteries, our attention spans are diminishing, and we're unable to be here in this moment without reaching for a distraction to pull us out of those precious moments. So how the FCK do you stay present while still dealing with life's bullsht?!? Let's find out.
Do you feel alive or are you just living and going through the motions? Are you getting out of your comfort zone and exploring new things that ignite your sense, or are you sticking with what's comfortable because it's what you know the best? Come on now, stop being boring. Let's have some fun. Happy Listening!
When was the last time you tapped into that child-like side of yourself and let your imagination run wild? When was the last time you allowed yourself to be creative and create something that you envisioned in your mind? As we grow older, we allow the serious side of ourselves to outshine our fun, free-spirited nature as a result of following the "normalized" grain of society. In this episode, we take it back to our inner roots and remind ourselves of what it's like to see life as exciting and full of possibilities just like a child. Enjoy!
Do you allow your emotions to get the best of you or do you just ignore them hoping they'll just go away? Whatever the case, emotions are there to teach us something. I've adopted the idea that emotions fckin BLOW, and I've done everything in my power to suppress my past trauma and pain. I'm finally facing it, and the struggle is most definitely real. So, how can you learn to face your past and your darkest pain without crumbling? I don't fckin know; I don't have the answer. But you do.
We live, we laugh, then....we die. Why? What does this all mean? The hell if I know, but it's a topic worth dissecting. Life is strange. But death is even stranger. So, let's talk about what the f*ck happens when we die, shall we?
If your life isn't panning out the way you've dreamed and you're not sure why, look at your current life structure. Are you managing your time efficiently? Do you tap into your own intrinsic motivation and create structure for yourself outside of work or is your current structure formulated by your external responsibilities? Are you organized or just going with the flow waiting for change to happen? We're capable of more than we think, and, more often than not, the reason for staying stagnant in life is simply due to the fact that you don't know where to start to get back on mfkn track. So, let's analyze our day-to-day, shall we?
It's a glow-up year, my dudes. Let's take a moment to reflect on where we are in our lives and to ask ourselves WHY we're really doing everything that we're doing. Life can be stressful, but are you choosing to stay in situations that make your life even more stressful than it should be? Let's dissect our "whys" so we can figure out how to glow the f*ck up, shall we?
Do you have a daily routine? Or do you have a daily ritual? In this episode, we discuss the importance of setting intentional rituals and creating comfortable spaces within your house in order to feel more at home within your body and within your space. Whether it be good or bad, your physical space is a direct reflection of your current state of mind. And yes, I did drink some wine prior to recording this episode, thanks for asking. Anyway, enjoy.
Are you living the life you’ve always dreamed for yourself? Or are you holding yourself back out of fear, negativity, or comfortability? It’s easy to be miserable and stuck in your ways, but it’s not easy to do the hard work you need to do to get out of your slump. Soooo how do you do that exactly? I don’t know, I don’t have the answers for you. Sorry dude. But, I know a good place to start...
Neuroscience says we're built one way, but anthropology, or the study of culture, says otherwise. Are we hard-wired to be who we are, or are we simply products of our environment? Perhaps both? I don't f*kn know, I don't have all the answers, but I do have a strong opinion on the subject. Let's discuss, shall we?
Almost a year later, but I’m back, plebs. Life’s “what the fck” moments are usually met with frustration, but it’s also met with realizations and breakthroughs. My what the fck moments this past year have given me a new perspective on various aspects of my life; but, more importantly, I’ve gained a better and healthier relationship with myself in the process. This episode and episodes to come are no longer meant to provide you with advice; instead, join me on my journey towards relatable self-discovery, epiphanies, and my attempt to dissect the fcked-up shit that us HUMANS have to go through. We’re all going through the same sht, so we might as well try to laugh through it all. SO, if you need a good laugh, then you’ve come to the right place. Keep on keepin on and enjoy, plebs.
Are you stuck in a constant stream of negative thoughts? Are you feeling insecure about yourself or questioning your abilities? Are you feeling hopeless? In this week’s newest podcast episode, we’ll dive into the world of neuroscience and magic mushrooms to help us understand how our brains work in order to live more positive and meaningful lives. Your negative mindset is more than just a mindset; it’s a conditioned neural network your brain has created to make sense of the world around you. It’s time to weaken those connections in order to make room for new neural networks that, quite literally, strengthen with consistent positive thinking. But where do you start? Sit back, relax, and enjoy to find out. Happy Listening!
When we're in physical pain, we do whatever we can to make sure we can heal as quickly as possible. But, when we're in emotional pain, we tend to shut off, suppress, project, and ignore. In a world full of social turmoil and injustice, we are faced with so many opposing opinions and so many different voices. Through injustice comes inequality, and through inequality comes anger and pain. Anger and pain are valid; however, they are not an excuse to ridicule, to hate, or to oppress others in return. In this episode, I discuss various ways to eliminate hate from your life and to replace it with forgiveness. To forgive is to be free. We can continue to blame the world and people for our problems. Or, we can learn to let go, forgive, accept, and walk this world together. This world needs more forgiveness; this world needs more compassion. If you're having trouble finding the strength to forgive and to rid yourself of your anger and pain, then this episode is for you. So sit back, relax, and enjoy. Happy Listening.

It’s easy to care for someone so much that you lose sight of your own wants and needs. If a relationship seems one-sided, it’s time to re-evaluate and ask yourself why. Are you spreading yourself too thin? Are you being supportive more than you are being supported? Are you having trouble saying no? Love can be blinding, and it’s easy to ignore our own boundaries for ourselves in order to make the people we love happy. In this episode, I discuss boundary setting and how to set realistic, necessary boundaries in order to put your mental health first. Your wants, needs, and emotional well-being are just as important as the wants, needs, and emotional well-being of the people you love. Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know that America is currently undergoing one of the largest Civil Rights Movements in history. America is bleeding, and the people of this country are coming together to fight for real, overdue change. No matter what side of the spectrum you are on, no matter what side you are fighting for, passion can cause hatred and resentment towards those on the opposing side. During this difficult time, it’s important to welcome open conversation. Real change will occur when we choose to listen rather than silence, love rather than hate, and fight rather than turning the other cheek. In this episode, my best friend, Sofia, and I have a healthy, open discussion on racial injustice, our first hand experiences with racism, and how YOU can make a real difference in your community. In today’s episode, I am joined by my lovely friend, Nicole, and we dive right into the topic of body image insecurities and eating disorders. Too often, we forget that the body and the mind are one entity; our body is our mind and our mind is our body. We are quick to shame, criticize, and talk down upon our own bodies, and we let our mind’s run rancid with negative rhetoric. We forget that our bodies carry our stories, our souls, our pain, our successes. We forget that our bodies carry us from place to place and allow us to adventure, explore, and travel. In this episode, Nicole and I emphasize that you are more than just a body, and you’re certainly not your body image. If you’re feeling a little less than confident today, I encourage you to listen to this episode. So sit back, relax, and enjoy. Happy Listening!

In this episode, we discuss our most beautiful and our most abusive relationships and how each experience and memory has taught us a valuable lesson. In order to fully allow yourself to be in a committed, healthy, stable, and beautiful relationship with someone, you have to first allow yourself to be in a committed, healthy, stable, and beautiful relationship with yourself. We’ve all encountered that one asshole early in the morning, or the person that cut you off while driving, or that person that seems to be rude for no apparent reason. What we see is a person lashing out. What we don’t see, however, is the pain, sadness, loss, grief, anxiety, or financial struggles that person may be going through. It’s easy to fight fire with fire, but what will that accomplish? Instead of being quick to judge someone off of a single interaction or experience, channel that judgement into compassion. Radiate kindness and be a light for someone who feels left in the dark. In this episode, my colleague, roommate, and best friend Sofia and I discuss how to leave your reservations about someone at the door. You’ll be surprised at the amount of great people you’ll meet if you just find the strength to push your judgements and assumptions aside. So sit back, relax, and enjoy! Happy Listening!

To me, setting a New Year's Resolution is just a fad. Companies, gyms, and studios feed off of the "New Year, New You" motto to get you to buy more products or sign up for a new subscription. To me, everyday is January 1st, and every day is a new opportunity to re-invent yourself. If you love the idea of starting fresh but don't exactly know where or how to start, then this episode is for you. This 20 minute episode discusses 5 EASY ways to ensure you're sticking with your goals and resolutions. So sit back, relax, and enjoy. Happy Listening!

In this episode, I’m joined by my lovely sister to discuss her current study abroad experience. Anxiety manifests differently within each and every one of us. But no matter what your anxiety may look like, ALL of our anxiety stems from fear of the unknown; anxiety is born through worry, fear, and angst. In this episode, I talk about how my anxiety was born, and how I've learned to tell it to f*** off when it decides to show up during the most inconvenient times. This time of year can bring about a little more anxiety than usual, so if you are having trouble staying grounded and living in THIS present moment or if you find that your mind is constantly thinking about the future, I encourage you to listen. Anxiety doesn't have to be permanent; you just have to tap into the source and find its weakness. So, sit back, relax, and enjoy. Happy Listening!

My discussions or interactions regarding body image has primarily been with females. UNTIL NOW! In this episode, I'm joined by my co-worker and friend, Ryan, and we discuss body image struggles from a male's perspective. We discuss lame diet fads, shady schemes associated with workout programs, healthy diets, fitness, and the macho-man persona male's are typically expected to uphold. This episode sheds light on the fact that negative body image isn't a gender issue, it's a universal problem. Two people, two different perspectives and experiences to learn from. Everyone's relationship with his or her body image is unique. As a society, we strive to look a certain way, act a certain way, and become someone we're not because of a variety of influential factors. On this episode, I had the lovely opportunity to talk with Caitlin and Terra from mmapod (look them up!), and they discussed their own struggles revolving around their perceived body image. Irregardless of what gender, size, age, nationality, or race, it's important to understand that we ALL face struggles and insecurities related to the way we look. The good thing is, society will always follow the most popular trend, so let's make celebrating all of our beautiful bodies the new standard. Enjoy, and Happy Listening!
