UPDATE: Since this episode was recorded, American military officials and State Department personnel have released a number of updates. We can now confirm that the explosions that hit Kabul Airport were caused by suicide bombings, not car bombs as was initially assumed. ISIS-K is claiming responsibility for the attack. Tragically, the American military death toll has risen from the originally reported 4, and now stands at 13, although that number is expected to increase. Additionally, an estimated 169 Afghans were killed in the attack, with that number likewise expected to increase in coming days.
