You’ve been saved. You’ve destroyed some idols. You’ve done everything right — and yet something keeps pulling you back.

We all know the feeling — looking around, seeing what everyone else has, and quietly thinking, “I want that.” In 1 Samuel 7 and 8, the people of Israel did exactly that. They had God as their King. Sometimes when we want to please God, we completely miss the mark and our decisions have chaotic consequences. In How Did We Get Here? Pastor Todd unpacks from Genesis 3 the tension between God's sovereignty and man's free will. So often the places where we end up in life are a result of two things: how we respond to circumstances outside of our control and the decisions we make about the things in our control. Persevering faith is confident obedience to God and His Word in spite of circumstances and consequences.
WHAT GOD CALLS FAITH THE WORLD CALLS STUPID We persevere when we stop looking to the world to affirm our faith.
OUR FAITH IS IN THE PROMISE GIVER NOT THE PROMISE The promise giver is our anchor not the promise.
IT TAKES MORE FAITH TO ENDURE THAN IT DOES TO ESCAPE God wants to help you endure rather than escape when life gets difficult.
Do you need an upgrade? Do you want to move from religion to relationship?
MAN The problem was man and our ability to perform the law. God’s Covenant 2.0 is based on God’s ability not mine.
METHOD The sacrificial system was only superficial, physical cleansing, but never cleansed the conscience. A better system, a better method had to come!
MEDIATOR Now we have Christ, the perfect mediator, the only mediator between God and man. We received an upgrade through His sacrifice.
We should step into this new week with God-fidence knowing that through Jesus we received an upgrade. Our God-fidence comes from knowing that Jesus paved the way for a new deal that sets us free.

Do you need rest today? Are you tired? Overwhelmed? 2020 has been a heavy year for many of us. In the midst of all the chaos God has changed our pace. Rest doesn't come natural for many in western culture, but in order to remain healthy it's a necessity.
This is how we enter God's special rest.
RELATIONSHIP Rest is the byproduct of moving from religion to relationship.
RHYTHMS There is a place for a practical, protected Sabbath rest that keeps our minds, bodies and souls healthy.
REPENTANCE We enter rest when we come to God humbly and boldly for forgiveness and cleansing.
Be honest - Have you ever needed to ask for a second chance? In that moment, did you humble yourself and ask for forgiveness or did you instead allow pride to take over causing you to hide in guilt and shame?
Pastor Todd shares three key take aways within Philemon 1, where Paul writes to Philemon regarding second chances.

Refresh : “Your love has given me much joy and comfort, my brother, for your kindness has often refreshed the hearts of God’s people.” 1:7

Request: “That is why I am boldly asking a favor of you. I could demand it in the name of Christ because it is the right thing for you to do.” 1:8

Repay: “If he has wronged you in any way or owes you anything, charge it to me.” 1:18
Our debts have been paid in full with Jesus on the cross! We are called to repay others with that very same grace!

It’s Time to Start Leading
As Christians, we are called to lead - in our homes, in our neighborhoods, in our communities - but many of us don’t know how!
Leadership is a topic that is easy to talk about but actually difficult to execute, however, God has given us a game plan to become effective, fruitful leaders!
In Titus 1:6 Paul begins to address leadership through a letter to Titus, “An elder must live a blameless life. He must be faithful to his wife, and his children must be believers who don’t have a reputation for being wild or rebellious.”
Pastor Mike “OC” O’Connell reminded us that God has given us a game plan. Now we can rest in the Lord, give Him our hearts so we may lead the way we are called to lead.

What are you focused on right now?
Maybe it’s whether or not to wear a mask in public, the fear of sending your kids back to school, racial injustices, politics, pornography - the list goes on! Deception is in the air but God wants to reclaim our focus and place our eyes back on Jesus!
“So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires....” Colossians 3:5

In Galatians 1:6-12 Paul addresses how the people of Galatia had polluted God’s Grace by altering or changing His Good News - leading to their people drifting away from his goodness.
Kap shared that we are facing similar struggles today in a world of chaos. We must focus on popping 4 major bubbles to get back to the good news:
- The Government is not our God
- Media is not our Messiah
- Our hope is not this earthly home
- The virus is not our final verdict

The GIFT of weakness
Weaknesses - we all have them. It seems as though during this stressful season of isolation and constant unknowns; our weaknesses are becoming more prominent.
This week O.C. share’s Paul’s heart regarding how our weaknesses are actually a GIFT as written in 2 Corinthians 12.

Weakness protects us from pride, preventing us from boasting and instead reminding us of our need for God. Like Paul’s thorn in his flesh, it’s a constant reminder that we must remain humble because we are not perfect.

Our weakness propels us to pray. In a season of weakness, how often do you find yourself on your knees praying to God for help, for healing, for change, for anything. Our weakness draws us closer to Him.

Weakness precedes the power of our purpose. God’s power is found in our weakness not in our strength. While we may admire the strong, we connect with others through our weaknesses. We are challenged to share our weaknesses so that the power of God can strengthen us.
This week, would we pray to not attempt to be self-sufficient but rather to press into the Lord through prayer, be vulnerable enough to put our weaknesses on display, and allow God to guide us in strength.

In 2 Corinthians 9, Paul dives into giving. God has given each and every one of us so much. In return we are called to return a just portion of what we have been given.
Paul urges us to be READY to give. Being ready doesn’t come from pressure from others to do so but instead comes from prayerfully considering what God is asking you to give. Your REASON for giving will come from your heart. Opening your hands and giving freely will RESULT in the ability to continue to give abundantly because God provides.

The Love Church family wants to wish all the mama’s a very Happy Mother’s Day!
Pastor Todd & his beautiful wife Denise Doxzon came together this Sunday to share how she “scents” the tone in their home for a faith filled family environment.
Denise shared with us that “our aroma” is A Representation Of My ABBA. The more we are connect to our Father God the more we are able to spread his scent to those around us.
As Pastor Todd asked Denise questions, she shared a memory of a close friend asking her “How do you want your kids to remember you?” This question stuck with her; reminding her to press into the Lord when patience is lacking, worry is striking, and she needs that reminder of having an attitude of gratitude.

Pain is inevitable! We have all endured painful situations and will most likely face pain in the future. Most of us tend to pout over the pain rather than purposing it
Pastor Todd reminds us God is our ultimate comforter in times of pain. As believers, we are called to channel God’s love to help comfort others. Sharing in suffering allows us to RELATE to one another giving us the ability to also share in the comfort.
During times of pain, who do you turn to? Most of us allow our pride to get in the way and believe our own strength will get us through it. But what if we RELIED on God to lift us back up? What if we looked up and gave it to Him - the one who raised Jesus from the dead. He can do all things.
By relying on God - we are allowing him to RESCUE us from our pain! God has rescued us before and he will do it again! God is in the business of miracles - What do you need rescued from right now?

Victory Over THE Virus – 1 Corinthians 15
Virus. Vaccine. Victory.
For the last few months, the corona virus has plagued our world. As we practice social distancing and self-quarantine - millions of people are being diagnosed with COVID-19. While this should be taken seriously, why aren’t we more concerned about the Virus that infects every human?
The Big “V” virus we are referring to is SIN! “When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam’s sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned.” Romans 5:12 NLT
God believed we all deserved a chance at a cure from our sinful nature. Therefore, he gave us his only son, Jesus, who sacrificed his life for our sins. The blood of Christ is the vaccine we need to save us from this Virus!
“He was buried, and he was raised from the dead on the third day, just as the Scriptures said.” 1 Corinthians 15:4
This is the ultimate Victory. Those who belong to Christ will be given new life void of this virus. He is Risen!

What are you doing with that time? Are you settling in and binge-watching different shows or are you using this time to grow deeper in your faith and closer to God?
As we continue in this unique time with the frequent changes, spend time with the Lord praying for Him to reveal what your gift is in this season. Pray for him to open your heart to teach and grow you in this area. Also, pray for him to guide you in Discerning when to embrace your gift and reveal his goodness to others around you.

Coronavirus! The topic is everywhere. Sanitizing our homes - sanitizing our hands - taking addition precautions to remain virus free. We are in a unique season as a society. Many of us are healthy and could withstand the symptoms of COVID-19 if we contracted it yet not everyone is as fortunate; some are more prone to serious complications of this illness. As a community, we are sacrificing our day to day freedoms to ensure others in our society remain safe through social distancing and shutting down our cities.
Today, Executive Pastor Mike “OC” O’Connell reminded us today that as Christians, we should be practicing similar tactics to spread the love and joy of God with those around us. In 1 Corinthians 8 - 9, Paul explains how knowledgeable believers should give up their freedoms to better relate to those less mature in their faith. When Paul was with the Jews, he would live under Jewish law - not because he was bound by those laws, but because he was trying to relate to those he was teaching. His love and knowledge of God was better received when he was living amongst the Jews not just preaching knowledge at them.
As we all continue to adjust to our new routines in this season, we challenge you to find opportunities to love others right where they are and continue to introduce them to the Lord.

The church in Corinth was experiencing some problems after Paul left them. He sent them this letter to correct and encourage them.

We have all racked up a HUGE debt, a debt of sin that we can't repay. Fortunately, for those of us that call Jesus, LORD, the debt is paid.

What do you do in a tough season? Our human tendency is to complain or get frustrated.

You see in Nehemiah 2-3 an example of this same theme. After he arrives in Jerusalem he takes the time to do an INSPECTION of the situation. After his inspection he then extends an INVITATION to all the people there. After the Israelites respond that they are ALL IN, Nehemiah then DELEGATES responsibility to rebuild the walls.

Pastor Ben brought us a redemption message out of John 18 and 21. Do you remember when Peter denies Jesus before the crucifixion and then Jesus asks Peter,

“Yes, Lord,” Peter replied, “you know I love you.”
“Then feed my lambs,” Jesus told him. Jesus repeated the question: “Simon son of John, do you love me?”
“Yes, Lord,” Peter said, “you know I love you.”
“Then take care of my sheep,” Jesus said. A third time he asked him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?”
Peter was hurt that Jesus asked the question a third time. He said, “Lord, you know everything. You know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Then feed my sheep.'

Whose acceptance and approval do you live for? MEN OR GOD’s?
Many of us strive for the approval of those around us. How we look, what we do and what we have and what others say about us are frequently the things that we rely on to determine our worth.
This kind of acceptance is TANGIBLE but it is TEMPORAL.
However, we read in Ephesians that God calls us CHOSEN and ACCEPTED.
This love and approval that come from Jesus is INTERNAL and ETERNAL.
“Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant.” Galatians 1:10 NLT

In John 6 we read about the miracle of Jesus feeding 5000 men (probably 20,000 or more total). This account is in all four Gospels and we know from the different account that the disciples approached Jesus with a suggestion...send the people away so they could eat.
Jesus response...”You feed them.”
Here enters in the dilemma...how in the world are they supposed to feed 20,000 people on such short notice? In a lot of ways in our lives we face what seems like impossible situations like this one...
We can choose to bring God our “not enough” and watch how over time our “not enough” turns into more than enough in the hands of Jesus.

What is your CONDITION? Spiritually, Emotionally, Physically...
“Crowds of sick people—blind, lame, or paralyzed—lay on the porches. One of the men lying there had been sick for thirty-eight years.” - John 5:3, 5 NLT
When Jesus meets us in our condition He is going to ask us QUESTION.
When Jesus saw him and knew he had been ill for a long time, he asked him, “Would you like to get well?” - John 5:6 NLT
This is not a trick question. We have to decide that we want Jesus’ healing touch on our condition.
Even in our complaining and disbelief Jesus loves us and will encourage us to: “Stand up, pick up your mat, and walk!” John 5:8 NLT
In our own strength this is impossible, but in and through Him we can do all things. When we obey the command then we receive the capacity.
We can be CURED!
Instantly, the man was healed! He rolled up his sleeping mat and began walking! John 5:9 NLT

As we conclude our reading of the Gospel of Luke, PT brings us a message from chapter 24, the road to Emmaus.
Jesus has risen but these two followers are mourning because their EXPECTATION was that he would be their conquering king. Our Lord, hidden from being able to be recognized by them, takes this journey to give them an EXPLANATION of Himself throughout the Old Testament.
When they reached their destination and broke bread with Jesus they received ENLIGHTENMENT and understood all that had been told to them.

Do you need a second chance? No matter how far we run, God’s love is inescapable. Life running from Him is like running on a treadmill, a lot of effort but no change in our location.

Running from God is REBELLION
When we are in rebellion The Lord will send warning to us in the form of REPERCUSSIONS. Sometimes the Savior Sovereignly Sends a Storm. Your decisions will not only affect you but also those around you.
If we know that the storm is a result of our choices and actions, our great God gives us the opportunity to end the season. REPENTANCE. We can make the decision to turn away from our disobedience and return to the Lord.

“Instantly Zechariah could speak again, and he began praising God.” - Luke 1:64 NLT
When confronted with challenge “HOW DO YOU SAY HOW?” Watch this message from PT and be encouraged because it’s never too late.
Do you like trailers or previews to a movie? In Mark 8:31 Jesus gives us a PREVIEW of coming attractions. He is going to suffer and die, but then will rise from the grave.
Peter had a limited PERSPECTIVE and tries to rebuke Jesus because he didn’t like the preview. If we would have deleted the scene, it would destroy the story.
Jesus gives us a model, a PATH, and in order to save our life, we have to give it away. The scene that changes everything is our surrender.

We have a need to eat both physically and spiritually. Sometimes we snack on the temptations put before us by the enemy but still end up unsatisfied.
In Mark 6 when He feeds the crowd, Jesus shows us this FEEDING FORMULA... DIVIDE: Get in a small group. Take the time to take a seat.
DELEGATE: Jesus will give you the opportunity to feed his flock.
DISTRIBUTE: Taking what we have received, we are called to give it away.
Would we be a people that connect with our Heavenly Father - Jehovah-Jireh (God who provides), receiving from His infinite font and give it away to those He has called.

What an incredible day for Love Church. Today was the reveal of our total commitments from the All In initiative. This is just the beginning of the next chapter for Love Church.

Pastor Todd brought a message out of the Book of Micah that relationships are tricky. Sometimes in our walk the Lord has to give us a REPRIMAND and a REMINDER of who he is and all He has done for us. The REQUIREMENT is from Micah 6:8 which says: "No, O people, the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God."

“So the people of Israel—every man and woman who was eager to help in the work the Lord had given them through Moses—brought their gifts and gave them freely to the Lord.” Exodus 35:29
In Exodus 35 we see the first building project: God COMMANDS the Israelites to build a tabernacle to worship Him. Moses gives a CHALLENGE to the people. The people PRAY, OBEY and joyfully CONTRIBUTE.
Over the last 5 weeks of the ALL IN Series we have witnessed OBEDIENCE, SACRIFICE, FAITHFULNESS and PERSEVERANCE - Sunday we had the opportunity, as a family, to put all those pieces into play and live the Bible together.
Commitment Day was an invitation for those who God has sent to Love Church to go ALL IN over the next 2 years and release resources the Lord has entrusted to us.
“They went to Moses and reported, “The people have given more than enough materials to complete the job the Lord has commanded us to do!” So Moses gave the command, and this message was sent throughout the camp: “Men and women, don’t prepare any more gifts for the sanctuary. We have enough!” So the people stopped bringing their sacred offerings. Their contributions were more than enough to complete the whole project.” Exodus 36:5-7
When the Israelites obeyed and contributed they had more than enough. We are believing that what the Lord releases through All In will be as well!

At 85 years old, Daniel was one of the highest ranking officials in a pagan and foreign land. Because of his FAITHFULNESS he was frequently chosen for PROMOTION.
The other leaders had a jealous spirit and sought Daniel’s PERSECUTION but they could only do so using Daniel’s FAITHFULNESS against him.

Daniel knew that his faithfulness to the true and loving God meant he would be sent to the lion’s den. Daniel’s FAITHFULNESS caused the Lord’s hand to give him PROTECTION.
Let’s be ALL IN in our FAITHFULNESS!
As we launched into our 2 year journey of ALL IN, Pastor Todd brought a message out of Daniel 1 called “Obedience”
“But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s delicacies, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.” (Daniel 1:8 NKJV)
When Daniel was faced with the ways of the world he made a DECISION to remain obedient and the Lord showed him favor through a DEAL which made all the DIFFERENCE in his life as the Lord continued to show Daniel honor.

In Ezekiel 40-42, the prophet is given a vision where he meets a man "whose face was like bronze" that gives him all of the dimensions of a temple that has never been built. In Ezekiel 43 God tells Ezekiel that he will again fill the temple with His presence and sit on the throne.

We have all experienced SCATTERED and desperate situations.
In Ezekiel 37, God calls the “Son of Man” to prophesy over a valley of dry bones. As the prophet obeys he sees the dead LIVE AGAIN, first they are a SKELETON, then they become covered with SKIN and finally they receive breath by God’s SPIRIT.
'I will put my Spirit in you, and you will live again and return home to your own land. Then you will know that I, the Lord, have spoken, and I have done what I said. Yes, the Lord has spoken!’”' - Ezekiel 37:14
Watch LIVE AGAIN, and pray for God to breathe life into the things we think are hopeless.
“Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds, the leaders of Israel. Give them this message from the Sovereign Lord : What sorrow awaits you shepherds who feed yourselves instead of your flocks. Shouldn’t shepherds feed their sheep?...” Ezekiel 34:1-2

What are you responsible for in this season. The Lord gave Ezekiel a message to prophesy against the leaders – the shepherds - of the people of Israel and Judah. They had in their selfishness caused the sheep to STARVE, be SCATTERED and STRAY away from God’s perfect plan.
But there is HOPE, what is the remedy?
As leaders we need to help our flock be SUSTAINED, Jesus told Peter to “feed his sheep” – John 21:15. Practicing a daily discipline of self-feeding in the Word and being an example to those we are called to lead. We should provide SAFETY, the community of believers comes together and supports one another. Finally, we should be STRENGTHENING and lifting up those that we see God’s calling on to lead with us.
As creatures of comfort we hate the pain, but through the pain we must SUBMIT TO HIS SOVEREIGNTY and STEWARD THE SITUATION.
We were made by God, for God - not the other way around.

When we find ourselves broken and alone the Lord, in all His Grace, says “LIVE!” But in a world that is overly stimulated and under disciplined we allow our blessings to become Idols leading us back down a path to forgetfulness which quickly leads to faithlessness.
Youth Pastor Michael “OC” O’Connell brought a message Sunday that not only checked our priorities but asked the hard question, “Do you remember the reason you needed Jesus to begin with?”
We must REMEMBER being rescued, REPENT of our rebellion and RECEIVE His grace. Only then can we avoid the endless cycle: Distraction - Disconnection - Discontentment - Disobedience.

Kappes Chatfield brought a message that he received from God out of the Book of Ezekiel titled “INTERFERENCE.”
'I, the Lord, will answer all those, both Israelites and foreigners, who reject me and set up idols in their hearts and so fall into sin, and who then come to a prophet asking for my advice. I will turn against such people and make a terrible example of them, eliminating them from among my people. Then you will know that I am the Lord.' - Ezekiel 14:7-8
We were created to worship God and Him alone. There are times in our walk with the Lord that we do not hear from Him due to INTERFERENCE.
Interference is: Intentional - God is using it for a purpose an Indicator - pointing out that thing in our life that we have set in the place of God Instructional - teaching us an important lesson an Invitation to come back to a place of worshipping the One True God

“Son of man, I have appointed you as a watchman for Israel. Whenever you receive a message from me, warn people immediately. If I warn the wicked, saying, ‘You are under the PENALTY of DEATH,’ but you fail to deliver the warning, they will die in their sins. And I will hold you responsible for their deaths. If you warn them and they refuse to repent and keep on sinning, they will die in their sins. But you will have saved yourself because you obeyed me." (Ezekiel 3:17-19)
Ezekiel was commissioned to preach a word of warning to the captives about their sinful ways. He SAW the Glory & Grace of God, was SENT by His spirit, SELF-FED and was then called to SIT and hear their stories - before he could warn he had to weep.

We all have unmet expectations or have experienced things in our lives that we had hoped had turned out differently. This can be especially difficult when we thought that something was supposed to be from the Lord. God allows us to grieve, but does not want us to stay there. Our focus needs to shift from things hope from the Lord to hope in the Lord.

In Chapter 29 the Lord sends a message through Jeremiah to the exiles in Babylon on how to live their lives, which are still applicable today. We must have the Mentality to own our personal relationship with Him, remember the Mission associated with how we walk out our daily lives and carry the Message that we give away which will result in Multiplication.

PRIDE is the problem - instead of receiving God’s challenge to turn back to him - we continue in our stubborn ways and become, “Dirty Undies,” but we do not have to settle in that place. Jesus willingly takes our dirty garments and in exchange gives us clean ones.
Pride can DISCONNECT, DECAY and eventually DISQUALIFY us from God’s purpose for our life. Watch Sunday’s teaching and humbly search your heart before God asking him to reveal any pride you may have within it.

We have all found ourselves at the fork in the road, wondering which path to take... “Yahweh,” the narrow path or “Lucifer Lane,” and continue chasing comfort.
Watch, “Cross Roads,” and in those moments: STOP - push pause and pray. SCAN - consider where you are. SEEK - simply ask Him what he is inviting you in to. SUBMIT - to His Will and get on your knees.
How many of us have a call on our lives, but we make excuses why we can't fulfill it? What is your excuse?
