In this powerful episode of the Chats with GiGi podcast, host GiGi sits down with family law attorney and entrepreneur Annette Sanchez to talk about the one thing most women business owners never prepare for — protecting their personal and professional assets in marriage, separation, and co-parenting.
Annette brings a rare combination of legal expertise and heart-centered advocacy to her practice. From her early days as a DCF prosecutor to building a firm focused on minimizing conflict and maximizing family wellbeing, Annette shares why she believes the best time to call a family attorney is before things fall apart. In this episode, you'll hear:
* Why Annette believes you should consult a family attorney the moment someone proposes — not when you're in crisis
* The difference between a prenup, a postnup, and a strategy session — and why every woman CEO needs to know all three
* How co-parenting done right can actually free up your bandwidth as a business owner
* The emotional maturity required to be a great co-parent — and how to get there
* Annette's co-parenting toolkit and how it gives clients real scripts and frameworks for navigating difficult conversations
* Why your business, your body, and your children's mental health are all connected to the health of your co-parenting relationship
* A real-life example of extraordinary co-parenting from Gigi's own blended family

The marriage is finished, but the family continues. — That's the philosophy Annette brings to every case, and it just might change the way you think about all of it.
Plenty of business owners are great at the service they deliver, then freeze the moment the work shifts to running the business behind it. Those are two separate jobs, and Kirsten Franklin has built her career in the space between them.
In this episode, GiGi talks with Kirsten, a former attorney who built a title company across three states in her 20s, lost all of it in the 2008 crash, and rebuilt from nothing as a single mom with a nine-month-old and millions in debt.
She now coaches elite athletes, CEOs, and top performers, more than 3,000 people so far, and her work starts a layer below strategy, with the mindset and identity underneath it. They get into what it means to run your business as its problem-solver, how letting go of control can make you a more disciplined operator, and what's going on when you tell yourself you're afraid of the unknown. In this episode:
* What it means to be the solutions developer inside your own business, and why that reframe shrinks every road bump that hits you
* How hiring at 70% capacity buys you a more disciplined business, and the discipline it asks from you first
* The lie hiding inside "fear of the unknown," and the identity shift that turns years of reading and workshops into who you are
About Kirsten Franklin
Kirsten is a former attorney who built a title company across three states in her 20s, lost it when the 2008 market crashed, and rebuilt from the ground up as a single mom carrying a nine-month-old and millions in debt. That season taught her to embody the personal-development work she had spent years collecting, and it reshaped how she sees resilience, empathy, and capacity. Today she coaches elite performers, CEOs, and pro athletes, people who already look successful from the outside and want their next level, on the mindset and identity shifts that get them there. She also spent several years as a board president of a foundation serving youth in the largest public housing project in North America. She's the creator of the MVP Method. A few moments worth the listen:
* Kirsten on the hard days: there is no such thing as a problem, only a challenge, and as an entrepreneur you are a solutions developer who sometimes has to jerry-rig things together to make them work.
* Kirsten on fear: you don't fear the unknown, you fear everything you think you know could go wrong, which makes it the fake known.
* Kirsten on the real work: it's the state of becoming, and the version of you standing here right now has to die a little so the next one can step in.
* Kirsten on capacity, in her Kabbalistic framing: you can't pour a waterfall into a leaky vessel, so the work is vessel repair and vessel expansion.
Come meet Kirsten in person
This is one conversation in the Chats with GiGi series leading up to the flagship event. The full experience, including the V and the P of Kirsten's MVP Method (she hands you the M, mastery of your mindset, right on the episode), happens live at Move, Breathe, Grow™ 2026 on September 19th in Miami. The Performing Paradox: Why Quitting Support After Success Is Risky
GiGi Diaz shares a client story about receiving a non-renewal message after helping the client move from near closing her business to landing huge clients, hiring new team members, and achieving her highest revenue; the client left because she felt too busy and not fully present for sessions.
GiGi explains this pattern as the “performing paradox,” where people abandon the support structures that created their growth because success gets misread as completion, creating a “capacity gap” between business growth and personal capacity.
She cites research on maintenance therapy (Dr. Ellen Frank), elite sports support teams, Anders Ericsson’s work on structured feedback, and Larry Greiner’s growth-phase crises to show why support matters most during peak performance and integration after crisis. She offers three signals and three self-check questions, and points listeners to a five-minute diagnostic in the show notes.

You've been told you can't have it all. Or maybe you've been told you can, but no one ever showed you how to actually hold it all together. This episode is GiGi's answer to that gap.
GiGi breaks down what it really means to build a business as a woman. One that doesn't ask you to sacrifice your family for your ambition or your ambition for your family.
This is the integration revolution: where strategy meets softness, and where your business is designed around your life, not the other way around.

In this episode, I'm getting real about "profitable simplicity" and how it completely transformed my business - and honestly, my life. I used to be trapped in that endless one-to-one cycle, constantly booked but never building something bigger than myself.

I'm sharing exactly how I transitioned from exhausting one-to-one work to a one-to-many approach that increased my impact, income, and freedom.

Trauma is a part of all of us. Sometimes it's trauma we know we carry, other times it's much more subtle, but it's still there.
On my recent quiet drive, I began thinking about how I don't want to lead with the trauma or difficulties of motherhood and I began thinking about all the clients I've had who lead with their trauma and how it holds them back from living to the fullest.
I'm not a trauma expert so I immediately thought about Maggie and asked if I could ask her some questions on the topic cause I wanted to make a podcast episode on it and write an article on it my BRAINZ magazine where I am an Executive Contributor.Maggie said "I'm making eggs for my little one, but definitely call me. I got you" and our conversation was so good I just grabbed it and put it directly into this episode. I hope it serves you.
Margarita C. Lopez, LMHC, CCTP is the founder of National Therapeutic Alliance, and a trauma therapist with a mission to help people learn how to live a fulfilling life post-trauma. Margarita believes in a restorative approach to healing trauma. A combination of mind, body, and soul healing practices. During her 11 years in the field, Margarita has found that taking a slightly more relaxed approach to therapy helps clients feel more comfortable and helps to build rapport. She aims to have her clients feel seen, heard, understood, and most importantly safe. The concept behind her treatment is for clients to achieve a state of “restoration” within themselves and who they are.

There's so much about finance and how money works in this culture that is foreign to us as immigrants and first generation immigrants. The stock market is a perfect example of a huge wealth opportunity we often don't even consider, mainly cause of the fear of not understanding it.
This is where Linda Garcia comes in.
Linda Garcia spent 17 years working in the TV and film industry, helping well-recognized TV networks, movie studios, and streaming services build programming for the U.S. Hispanic market. Despite enjoying the work, Linda knew there was more to life than working to make someone else rich. Eventually, she took the knowledge she’d gained and used it to launch the Let There Be Luz podcast: a weekly podcast aimed to channel one’s spiritual journey, which Linda concluded at its 101st episode.
In 2019, after relocating to Dallas, Linda’s spiritual journey led her to her life’s purpose: to help the Latine community heal the generational money wounds that prevent them from achieving wealth. In 2020, at the height of the pandemic, Linda launched her first stock market course for beginners. She created a rapidly growing community of Latinx investors on Patreon and Instagram known as In Luz We Trust. Today Linda is a published author of Wealth Warrior: 8 Steps For Communities of Color to Conquer The Stock Market, self-made business owner, and a guiding Luz for thousands of POC looking to break free from limiting and toxic money mentalities. Linda’s book can be purchased at Barnes & Noble, your local bookstore, and on Amazon as well as Audible. Linda’s work has been featured on CNBC, Univision, Yahoo Finance, People En Español Forbes, and Bloomberg to name a few.

Psychedelics, microdosing, all hot topics these days. We're breaking it down with a pro.
Paul F. Austin is an entrepreneur, psychedelic facilitator, microdosing expert, and author. He is the founder of Third Wave, a trusted, research-based psychedelics education and community platform featuring psychedelics guides, courses, podcasts, blog content, etc.
Through his initial seven-month microdosing protocol, Paul experienced the tangible benefits of microdosing LSD, including accelerated learning, easier access to flow states, and a deeper sense of presence. Taught by over 10+ years of psychedelic use, Paul views psychedelic integration as a learned skill, one refined through intention, mentorship, and courageous exploration.
He believes mastering this skill will be crucial in the story of humanity’s present-future evolution.

Trauma can be caused by more than mental and physical abuse, PTSD or tragic moments in life. Trauma can happen in much more subtle ways that equally impact our psyche and affect our personal and professional life.
In this episode, Margarita C. Lopez, LMHC, CCTP will teach us about how Trauma You Don't Know You Have Could Be Affecting Your Business.
Margarita is a helper, a rescuer, a restorer. She didn’t just land in psychology either. She endured some of her own traumas, healed them and then set off on a mission to bring safety to others. That’s how her practice, National Therapeutic Alliance was born. Once she defined her purpose, she knew what role she was going to play in the world. Thus, she set off to work as a trauma therapist with a mission to help people learn how to live a fulfilling life post trauma. Margarita believes in a restorative approach to healing trauma. A combination between mind, body and soul healing practices.During her 11 years in the field, Margarita has found that taking a slightly more relaxed approach to therapy helps clients feel more comfortable and helps to build rapport. She aims to have her clients feel seen, heard, understood and most importantly safe. The concept behind here treatment is for clients to achieve a state of “restoration” within themselves and who they are. She states, “my calling is to help people out of the dark”.

The concept of women empowerment has created a global movement that has driven many women to tap into their full potential and get out of their comfort zone. But has this concept evolved to do the oppositve of what it intended? Is Women Empowerment Actually Disempowering?
Today's guest is Diana Perkovic. She's the founder of Good Girl Mafia, a female empowerment company, where "women supporting women" is more than just a cool catch phrase, it's a way of being.
As an experienced Empowerment Coach, Diana has come to understand that the way to achieve empowerment amongst women is to cultivate, grow and unleash personal empowerment in one woman at a time.
Diana knows firsthand what it's like to be perceived as confident and empowered, while feeling like the complete opposite.
Confident enough to interview stars like Jennifer Lopez, Mariah Cary and Mary J Blige on live TV, yet still …disempowered. She couldn't make the life changes that were needed.
Diana managed to get unstuck, pivot and thrive… fully empowered. Now she is on a mission to make the empowerment process much easier for other women. She teaches women how to do what she did: Self Empower.
She has a Master Certification in Neuro Linguistic Programming, she is a twice-Certified Life Coach, Motivational Coach, Social & Emotional Intelligence Coach. TV Personality with over 10, 000 hours of live and unscripted television broadcast into 100 million homes

For better or worse, our ego often drives us and we lead with our own needs and wants over leading with the value we can bring. When it comes to B2B - Business to Business - transactions, leading with value is key. It should be the focus when dealing with clients also, but this episode is focused specifically on B2B. This episode is for those entrepreneurs who want to speak on others' stages and be featured on others' platforms.

Surrender. We hear this word so much but what does it mean in business?
But how do you tell someone who's out to build an empire to "surrender" without making them cringe? How can a word that often causes us to feel powerless, like we've given up actually make us stronger entrepreneurs with more clarity and control over our businesses?
This solo podcast with host GiGi Diaz dives into this topic and plays with the idea that surrender can make up better entrepreneurs.

Do you know what’s one of the things that I absolutely love about doing business and being an entrepreneur? It’s the fact that we can approach business holistically. How does energy connect with our business? How does energy connect us through astrology?

What comes to your mind when you hear the word, “money”? How about…”debt”?
Today, we’re going to talk about debt, and how to get the hell out of it. Whether you’re working full-time as an entrepreneur or from the corporate world, debt plays a role in your ability to succeed. It's an important topic to talk about and tackle but we often shy away from it cause - lets get real - debt sucks and thinking about it is definitely triggering.
Erin Skye Kelly, is a total boss babe, she’s bringing actionable steps to Get the Hell out of Debt.
She is a bestselling and award-winning author, keynote speaker, podcast host and entrepreneur. Her new book launched on July 20, 2021. “Get the Hell Out of Debt'' teaches financial literacy in a way that is approachable, entertaining and inspiring.
Erin’s resources have helped thousands of people pay off millions of dollars in personal debt, and are inspired by her deeply personal journey of regaining financial freedom. Though she is the former owner of a mortgage brokerage, Erin found herself with over $2 million of personal debt. Erin enlisted the help of financial professionals but grew frustrated when their debt consolidation and refinancing solutions only made the problem worse. Instead of paying off debt with debt, Erin set out on a mission to truly understand how money works.
In “Get the Hell Out of Debt,” Erin recorded her findings and her financial advice, along with a healthy dose of love and laughter.

What happens after we die?
Heaven? Hell? Something else?
That’s what we’re talking about on today’s episode of Chats with GiGi. Today’s guest is Catherine Wolff, author of the book BEYOND: How humankind thinks about heaven. Catherine went deep into how many different religions and cultures approach the concept of heaven and what she discovered is fascinating. She shares it in her book and in this episode.
Catherine Wolff has been a teacher, social worker, therapist, chaplain, and the Director of the Arrupe Center for Community Based Learning at Santa Clara University. She edited Not Less Than Everything: Catholic Writers on Heroes of Conscience from Joan of Arc to Oscar Romero (HarperCollins, 2013,) and has recently published Beyond: How Humankind Thinks About Heaven (Riverhead Books/Penguin Random House, 2021). She lives in Northern California with her husband, the writer Tobias Wolff, close to their three children and three grandchildren.

Today’s topic is one that is so close to my heart, self-care! By now you’ve probably heard my burnout story of ending up in an ER due to depletion and overwork. This was a few years ago while I was working on my Master's degree, holding two jobs (radio and TV) managing GiGi’s Academy (my first business) and picking up freelance gigs for extra income.
It took me years to learn to release the guilt I used to feel when I paused to take care of my mental and physical health. It was especially difficult to learn to let go of the guilt of saying NO to what I used to call “opportunities” that were really just shiny objects; cool to have but not really catapulting me to my big goals.
However, when I learned to release that guilt, when I learned to nurture my mind, body and spirit first and foremost, I immediately saw shifts and changes in my life that brought me abundance beyond my dreams, my life partner, stronger relationships and JOY. This lesson is what planted the seed of my Seizing Happy® coaching organization which is dedicated to nurturing the business and the woman behind the business equally.
Today’s guest wrote one of the best books I’ve read this year: Sit Down to Rise Up. How Radical Self-Care Can Change the World.” In this book she brings the effects of self-care to the forefront and shows us how it creates impacts on a local and even international level.
Shelly Tygielski is the author of Sit Down to Rise Up and founder of the global grassroots mutual aid organization Pandemic of Love. Her work has been featured by over 100 media outlets, including CNN Heroes, The Kelly Clarkson Show, CBS This Morning, the New York Times, and the Washington Post. A trauma-mindfulness teacher and a Garrison Institute Fellow, she has been called one of the “12 Powerful Women of the Mindfulness Movement” By Mindful.org and teaches self-care and resilience at organizations around the world.

If you feel like you’re doing ALL the things, but you’re not actually moving FORWARD in your business cause those day-to-day tasks keep you too busy (and too tired) to CREATE and GROW, it might be time to hire a VA my friend. If you’re thinking about adding a new team member, it can be a little nerve-racking to determine, if you’re ready, how to go about it, or where to start!
Don’t worry. I got you!
Hiring someone to take tasks off your list, and to take over the areas of your business in which you’re not an expert, saves you loads of time and increments your growth. You don’t need to be an expert in every area of your business; and just because you CAN do all the things, it doesn't mean you SHOULD.
I’m a mindset and social media coach. Can I build my own website? Sure. Can I run my own Google ads campaigns? Sure. Can I edit every single episode of this podcast myself? After 7 years in radio, I better right? But I don’t do ANY of those things because they take up time! Time that is better spent on getting more clients, serving my current clients better, and doing the things that NO ONE else in my business can do - making podcasts and video content for you, coaching my clients, and more importantly, spending time with my family so I can recharge at the end of each week.
There are a lot of people that you can hire remotely and do admin, accounting, audio-video editing, sales, social media management, or even website-related tasks for you. And NO it doesn’t have to be super expensive!
In this episode, I’m sharing some tips and guides that will help you through the process of hiring someone to grow your team. Always remember, just because you can do it, doesn’t mean you should do it. Delegation is the best way to grow.
Happy hiring!

How amazing is it when you hear someone's amazing story of growth and overcoming obstacles?
On this episode of Chats with GiGi we’re going to talk about the power of your story and the power of storytelling. Whether you’re sharing your story to motivate others, to heal yourself or to establish trust in your brand or business, there is a power behind storytelling.
To talk about the power of our stories I’ve invited Corie Adjmi to join me on the show. She’s an award-winning author and women’s empowerment activist and her award winning book Life and Other Shortcomings, sums up some of her best story telling to date. It illustrates the stories of 12 women, all on a different path in life, with one common overarching theme: the beauty, honesty and compelling nature of the female experience and what it means to be a woman.

Are you seeking to find love? Are you excited to find love? Determined to find someone, but between running your business and dating let-downs, you’ve lost hope that there’s someone out there for you? If you’ve felt dating despair as an entrepreneur, then this episode is for you!
As entrepreneurs, our main focus is often our business. If you have kids, they share that focus too. Then comes family and, if there’s any time left over, your girlfriends. We are so busy we don’t find time to date; and when we do, dates often come up short of what we need. So, no matter how badly we want love and to share our path with someone, we put dating on the back burner cause the ROI just doesn’t make sense.
It can be challenging to date as an entrepreneur, I’ve been there! But, guess what, it doesn’t have to be!

I have always been a proud ally of the LGBTQ community and it's an honor for me every time I'm asked to host Pride events all over South Florida. So I had to share the details of the Gay8 Festival I'll be at this Sunday alongside iHeartRadio, 939MIA and my sister station TU949.
The festival is free. It starts at 11a till 10p with performers all day long including Lucy Grau, Son Lokos, Nic y N'Taya and headliner Albita. On this episode of #CHATSwithGiGi I brought on the event Co-Founder and Producer Damian Prado to tell you all about what to expect this Sunday.
It's pretty much common knowledge that my obsession with Cirque du Soleil is borderline unhealthy. I'll even plan my travel itinerary around whether or not there's a Cirque performance in the city I'm visiting.
This is why I'll never pass on the opportunity to talk with someone from Cirque du Soleil's team. In this instance I was able to chat with Marissa King, a power track performer and University of Florida graduate.
In addition to sharing how she ended up selected by Cirque to become part of the performers, she also talks about the power of connection of support between other women gymnasts and how we can spread this type of support through all other industries.

There is something especially satisfying about seeing the ones you love succeed. That is exactly the feeling I have interviewing singer, actor JenCarlos Canela whom I met over 12 years ago when we were both in the very beginnings of our careers. Him as a singer and performer, me as an event producer and entrepreneur with my dance studio GiGi’s Academy.
After all these years we’ve both continued to root for each other from a distance; continuing to grow in our own fields as people and professionals. It is an absolute pleasure for me to have him on this episode of #CHATSwithGiGi to talk about his new show Grand Hotel, premiering June 17th on ABC at 10p. We also talk about his upcoming Netflix comedy The Expanding World of Ashley García and how he stays grounded when his world gets chaotic.

I fell in love with her as Glinda the Good Witch in Wicked, but many of her fans have followed and supported Kristin Chenoweth since long before that; perhaps since her Tony Award winning performance in "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" or Pushing Daisies, for which she won a 2009 Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress.
Throughout her career the accolades have been multiple and her accomplishments as an artist even greater. Most recently receiving the key to Oklahoma City and being honored with the Vanguard Award from the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus for her LGBT activism.
On this episode of #CHATSwithGiGi, Chenoweth talks about her upcoming show in South Florida at the Hard Rock Live, her views about the LGBTQ community as a Christian, her new Netflix Rom-Com Holidate, and how she keeps it together with such a busy schedule.
