Believe it or not, some of us (some of YOU) actually enjoy your day job! You're using all your skills and talents, you have an amazing supervisor and incredible vital work friends. You know you make a difference every day for your company. Am I right?
And yet, your heart has been telling you for years now that you have other talents and skills the world should experience. Like, maybe in a Side Hustle!
But you're a busy person, balancing your job, family, friends, and a lifestyle you like. So who has the damn time? YOU DO. We all have the time. And that’s why I’m here.
Hey there, my name is Kris McPeak, and I help career professionals create side hustles that complement their day job, supplement their income, and are manageable for their lifestyle. Once you adopt the “Elevate Your 8" philosophy and set some goals, you, your day job, AND your side hustle are going to be unstoppable.
So if you’ve got a calling beyond your 9 to 5, then sit down, relax, and tune in to this show, because YOU’VE Got Side Hustle!
My side-hustling friends, I have come to the realization that it's time to say goodbye to the GOT SIDE HUSTLE show. As it started, "ELEVATE YOUR 8" and morphed into GOT SIDE HUSTLE, I have made some amazing friends and learned so much about myself and what it takes to build a business.
I have come to really understand productivity and time management and how I can make the best of every hour in every day.
I have created systems and procedures for working my side hustles in less than one hour a day.
And now it's time to do something different.
The show will still be around - and from time to time I will likely do a special episode when I really have something to say or I have a great guest...
But until then, the GOT SIDE HUSTLE show is always here for you.
THANK YOU for being part of this community and for subscribing to the show. I appreciate each and every one of you more than I can possibly say.
HAPPY REX MANNING DAY! In honor of this amazing annual event, where we eat special brownies, pizza, and watch the delightful 1995 movie about teen angst, music, and making your dreams come true (sort of) - today's episode features Side Hustle Lessons derived from some of my FAVORITE moments in the film EMPIRE RECORDS.
From ABC.NET.AU: "
If you grew up in 1990s, you might be familiar with Empire Records.
The film, which followed a raggedy crowd of employees at an independent record store facing corporate takeover, resonated with those of us who listened to "alternative music" and wanted to telegraph our displeasure at The Man.
It was a very cool thing," Jenna Guillaume, a pop culture writer and the author of two works of young adult fiction, told me when we spoke about Empire Records, which was released 25 years ago.
"The characters were outsiders and you were an outsider if you loved it and that became a token of your cool status."
But the film was a disaster.
It was abandoned by its studio just weeks before its release.
While it gave early platforms to Liv Tyler and Renee Zellweger, critics mostly dumped on it and it barely made it to US screens, let alone Australian ones.
With a budget of more than $US10 million, it made just $US150,000 in cinemas."
Anyway - I have derived more than my fair share of enjoyment from this film and I'm thrilled today to be able to share some amazing lessons on rocking your side hustle and doing the passionate work you were made to do!!

Okay, so why does Self Care matter and why do we need it? One of my favorite quotes is from Eleanor Brown: "you cannot serve from an empty vessel." And that goes for your side hustle as much as it goes for your day job, work-life balance, and everything else. Without self-care, you cannot take care of anyone or anything - and that includes your side hustle.
This quick-and-dirty episode gets to the heart of self-care and why we need it. And I'd LOVE to hear from you on what kinds of self care YOU utilize.
See you next time!
What's that old adage - "Teach What You Know?"
Right now I totally know what OVERWHELM feels like. For shizzle.
And thus, instead of burying my head in the sand and ignoring my overwhelm, I'm choosing to focus, get my bearings, and tell y'all what I'm learning.
This week's episode focuses on some tips and strategies when it starts to get super duper crazy at your day job and you don't want to fall behind with your side hustle(s). And what I'm learning during this period is that it's really REALLY important for me to give myself a little grace and realize that this is all temporary. You bet.

It's really important to put that start date out there ASAP and TELL PEOPLE! When you do this, you give yourself NO EXCUSES to launch because you've made it public. This is a scary, scary thing - but y'all can do it.
Then it will be super important to talk about how many hours a week you'll dedicate to your launch plan and then how many hours a week you'll "work" once that side hustle is up and running.
Review your Elevate Your 8 strategies for this homework and guess what - you are getting closer to launching that brand new small business of yours!

2020 may have been a total booger and truly shitty year, but 2021 was a rollercoaster of a ride if ever there was one. And I LOVE roller coasters, but I’ll tell you what…I’ll take a little bit of a kiddie ride for a while if you don’t mind me saying so.
Regardless, there were plenty of lessons to learn in 2021 and I’ve come up with 21 of them to share with you for this week’s ``better late than pregnant” episode LOL.
These lessons are all business related in the sense that they are personal and frankly, when you have two side hustles, one with your husband, and a day job that you truly love, then everything gets a little personal every now and then. From working ahead and setting deadlines to having your own professional development curriculum and rocking your mindset, I hope you enjoy this fun list that I’ve shared in Episode 157.
If you still haven’t started that Side Hustle yet and you want a jump start, I’d like to invite you to join me starting the week of January 3rd with the Ultimate Bundles Side Hustle Challenge. It’s for the full month of January and only costs $5! Join today!!

It’s always great to learn more about couples who side-hustle, so I was thrilled when this couple reached out to me. Suzy Sevier and Michael are definitely serial entrepreneurs and I LOVE what they are doing in this space.

You’re right - it’s not my usual thing. But it’s been a busy two weeks and I feel so SO very grateful to be back in action at GSH with today’s show.

Can I just tell you how much I did NOT want to do an episode this week?
Well, it's true.
I'm in a slump, y'all. An icky one. Like the kind where they send you back down to the minors. But slump and all, I learned a few things today and I wanted to share them with you because I think they are worthy of getting me out of my slumpy-ness.
I have used an app called VIDA through my employer's health insurance. It's AWESOME. I have a fantastic health coach that I meet with every week and the app is sort of a combination of FitBit, MyFitness Pal, and every other food tracker on the planet.
Today, VIDA was hosting a webinar on dealing with stress during the holidays. I decided to check it out and it was AWESOME! I got into more detail in the episode, but let's just say I had a slight epiphany and I feel very hopeful about the next few weeks!
Are you in a slump? How might this episode help you more?
Hey Side Hustlers! Pick up my FREE Quiz, “Which Side Hustle is Best for Me?” and figure out which of these four would be the ideal direction for you as you start your first side hustle.
So, I like to think that I’ve got the energy to spare for three or four people, but my guests this week have got me totally schooled in this department. I met Gail Scott and Christina Massey through the Clubhouse Community and now am totally digging on their brand new podcast called MIDLIFE MOXIE.
Gail Scott is a 27 yr veteran in skincare and beauty sales. She has worked that business as both a side hustle and a full-time career. As of late, she has created other side hustles coaching and teaching women on working virtually and growing a new podcast, MIDLIFE MOXIE™️.
Christina Massey is a serial entrepreneur. She has several businesses, including 14 years in the beauty and skincare industry. She is always looking to expand her portfolio and the new MIDLIFE MOXIE™️ podcast is the newest addition to her gigs.
I'm not a parent - and I don't plan one on TV - but this subject gets even me a little anxious. I have nieces and nephews so I definitely do not envy parents with this whole birds and bees conversation. And YES - there are people who do this stuff for a living and thrive on it. So I was really happy to talk to Amy Lang of Birds and Bees and Kids today. It's a very fun and funny conversation - and Amy brings some great tips to the table specific to the side hustle...so, no, we aren't talking about sex the whole time, LOL. Talking to your kids about the birds & bees can be really uncomfortable. - And most of us dread the idea of having “THE TALK”….….. but it doesn’t have to be this way! - Our guest, Amy Lang had been a sex educator for over 16 years when she freaked out about talking to her son about her favorite topic! -Once she recovered - and did a bunch of research - Amy started Birds & Bees & Kids to help parents learn how to have these important conversations. -Sex advice guru Dan Savage says Amy is a “parent’s best-friend-with-benefits” when it comes to the birds and bees talks. - She is also the host of JUST SAY THIS! An advice column-style podcast where she answers all kinds of questions from parents about the sex talks. - Through her books, classes, and podcast Amy has helped 1000’s of parents around the world become their kids’ go-to birds and bees source.

So who’s on Clubhouse? Who’s on Wisdom? Who knows what the hell I’m talking about??
Yes, if you haven’t heard, Social Audio is the new “thing” and for podcasters it’s tres cool because it’s what we do! But beyond that, there are some AMAZING and impacting conversations that are taking place on these platforms and I’m excited to share my first few Wisdom experiences with you!!!
What’s Wisdom, you ask? Wisdom is a pragmatic solution to monetize your expertise while doing good by helping people. We need people like you to make Wisdom a success! We provide mentors/experts with the necessary tools to take questions from your community while monetizing your expertise and building your professional brand. I was recruited a few months back to become a Top Mentor with the app; I somewhat dropped the ball during the Beta period, but I’m there now and trying to make some waves as I share space with individuals like YOU who have the wisdom to share!
In today’s episode, I’m pulling in two of my solo talks from Wisdom, but starting in two weeks I’ll be sharing my shared talks here on GOT SIDE HUSTLE as we talk about side hustles, day jobs, time management...all of the things that people want to talk about on Wisdom.
Come join me on the app! And thanks, as always, for downloading this week’s episode!!!!
Mystery Shopping is probably the biggest side hustle you never thought was legit.
It’s TOTALLY legit.
I’ve been doing mystery shopping since 2013 and my main reason behind starting up with this was - you guessed it - money money money. In this case, I needed money BADLY. My hubby had been very sick for some time and I could not take any more payday loans. Yes - sometimes a side hustle does come out of desperation. But I stuck with this one because I actually enjoy it AND it’s a good way to make some extra money doing something that you likely had to do already.
I got started doing Mystery Shopping with cell phone audits - I would line up 8 to 10 of them in a weekend. Let me tell you, I learned SO much about mobile phones...when my hubby and I were looking at upgrades, I would always take him along on some phone audits so we could make informed decisions. I soon discovered that I could basically get my grocery shopping reimbursed with a few shops here and there. So I have stuck with this and have made close to $5000 over the years. And this is only doing 4-5 shops a month on average.
Some of my favorite agencies include Trend Source and ISS Shopping. But there are dozens and dozens of agencies. A quick google search will get you moving along.
Give it a try! But stay out of my territory - LOL - I’ve got dibs!!
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again - podcasters RULE. To say “some of my best friends are podcasters” is not an attempt to just embrace podcasters. It’s so freaking true! And today I chatted with a podcasting dude who I felt like I could talk to FOREVER.
Today we are talking to Matt Franklin from the Rogue Retirement Lounge and man does this guy have some awesome stories. Never mind his kick-ass appearance on Shark Tank back in the day, Matt is a serial entrepreneur, an inventor, and a fellow Gen X’er with some truly delightful stories and he’s full o’knowledge, so I know you’re going to love this episode.
Matt Franklin is a serial entrepreneur from Portland, OR. He’s run a one-man video production company since 2006 and on the side, he’s a part-time product developer. His most successful product landed him on Shark Tank in Season 4.
Since his Shark Tank appearance, he’s spoken with hundreds of entrepreneurs of all experience levels as they try to launch new products and businesses. In doing so, one thing he discovered is that self-employed people and gig workers are terrible about retirement planning and investing. There are a number of reasons, but being behind on retirement preparation seems to be a universal problem among entrepreneurs.
Upon realizing that he too, was unprepared for his golden years, Matt became obsessed with retirement investing, while at the same time running his businesses. He completely overhauled his investment strategy, and by getting out of the stock market and into cash-flowing investments like rental houses and apartment syndications, he was able to shave ten years off his working life. Now enjoying “pre-tirement,” Matt is hosting a podcast called the Rogue Retirement Lounge. His mission is to help entrepreneurs and self-employed people develop retirement strategies so that they won’t have to work into their seventies.
As you may already know, my FAVORITE interviews happen when I learn something myself that will help support my business, and this week's episode is no exception. As someone who is totally concerned with time management and productivity, the idea of creating courses to help support others in their drive to create side hustles is a no-brainer for me.
Enter this week's guest, Gemma Bonham-Carter. Gemma gives us a quick once-over on all things course creation! So whether you already have a side hustle but want to create a course OR you have decided that the "Creator" is your Side Hustle Personality and you want to build your business around courses, this show will totally be your jam!
Gemma Bonham-Carter is an online course strategist and digital marketer who has helped over 6,000 entrepreneurs launch and scale their businesses.
With her two signature programs, Course Creator School and The Passive Project, Gemma coaches clients on how to monetize their ideas using online courses and digital products. She helps her clients build scalable, sustainable digital businesses with a long-term vision and effective strategies that work throughout industries - from entrepreneurship, the arts, nutrition, health and wellness, parenting, and more!

So: in light of the big Stroke Clinic that my swim team hosted a couple weeks ago, I wanted to do an episode on the joy and frustration of running a business (or in my case, a Side Hustle) with your significant other. If you are a married or partnered person then you can probably feel me just a bit here - because I have always said that people who claim they don’t fight with their spouses/significant others are full of crap. LOL.
Much of this episode is a bit of a catharsis for me, but all of the experience I share is coming from the heart. I love working with my husband on the swim team, but it’s hard work. Just like marriage. So in many ways, we have two marriages: our life together and the business. As much as I say to my day job colleagues, “never start a business with your husband,” I am truly joking because I love him and I love the work we do together.
Thank you for being part of the Got Side Hustle listening community. Do you have topics you’d like to see discussed on the show? Send me an email at info@krismcpeak.com

OH, but I do live this creative accounting lady, Heather Zeitzwolfe of the “Get the Balance Right” podcast. Another Pod Pal I met from Adam Schaeuble’s bi-monthly Zoom Parties, Heather and I share a love of podcasting and crazy, creative hair colors. I really enjoyed talking to her and I know you will love this interview.
In her own words, “I'm a creative, empathic nerd who enjoys numbers. I help my clients understand their finances so that they can make empowered decisions in their business. My approach is the non-judgmental and shame-free approach. Through my coaching, I offer my clients accountability, support, and honest feedback.
I'm not your Dad's accountant (Unless your dad's accountant has funky colored hair, transforms tofu into delicious desserts, and geeks out on writing sketch comedy)! I'm here to get down and dirty in your numbers. I want you to understand your financials so that you can take your business to the next level. I work with creative small business owners helping them get a handle on their cash flow, increase their profitability, and forecast the future. But it's not all about profit, I help clients with a holistic approach to business that focuses on people, the planet, and purpose. I believe as business owners it is our duty to make choices on how it will impact our planet and society. Want to join me in this (peaceful) revolution?
I'm a total geek who loves creating spreadsheets, watching cult movies, and in my past life, I must have been a drag queen. l am passionate about learning, growing, and challenging myself, and helping my clients do the same. I get really excited about data, organizing processes, and exploring new technology. But...I also like to get super crazy on the dance floor and bust a move. My passions include cooking amazing plant-based foods, standing up for animal rights (this includes humans), and hosting my podcast.”

This week I just wanted to throw in a shorter little episode to talk about the differences between a Second Job and a Side Hustle. I came to this realization a while ago but it didn’t really click to me until I was preparing my webinar, “How to Run Your Side Hustle in Less Than One Hour a Day.” Because there really is a HUGE difference and it’s not just one of mindset.
This is a quick and short show - so I’m just gonna leave it at that! ENJOY!
Are you still struggling to find the time to work on that side hustle? Do you have one free hour a day to dedicate to it? Then you need to check out my free webinar, “how to run your side hustle in one hour a day!”
Let me just tell you from the beginning that I did not want to interview Fabe from the get-go. I had such a bug in my butt about “serial entrepreneurs” coming on my show and telling the audience why they need to quit their 9 to 5. Not on this show. But Fabe broke through my bias to explain to me why his message would benefit you guys. And DANG - he blew it out of the water.
Fabe and I share the same brain in so many ways - and I loved this conversation from start to finish. I think you’re going to LOVE his message and his VICE method.
From college drop-out to a multiple profitable business owner, Fabe knows all too well the saying "starting from the bottom.” If you’re like Fabe, not handed a silver spoon, you know that it doesn't matter because your success has nothing to do with your current situation but everything to do with your passion, focus and your desire to grow.
Fabe’s mission is to help side hustlers with a passion and a desire for a better life like you, to grow and scale their side hustles by tackling burnout, procrastination, and fears by implementing systems that work. Because having a profitable side hustle means a better quality of life for our family, friends, and community.
Check out his community and programs HERE.
If you are a “woman of a certain age,” then this is the podcast episode for you! Another connection from my Pod Pals experiences, I connected with Daphne at one of Adam’s bi-weekly chats. Daphne shares her experiences as a podcaster side hustler and as an insurance broker. And I definitely learned a thing or two about life insurance that is going to help me as that “woman of a certain age.”

Hey everyone! Hope you're continuing to enjoy the Greatest Hits! We are about two weeks away from being back to new content. Meanwhile...enjoy this oldie but goodie about BURNOUT.
Well, it happened! The World Health Organization has finally come up with a medical diagnosis for burnout. In the workplace, at least, not in life.
Still - this shit is REAL. Read about the new diagnosis here.
But meanwhile - we still have to figure out ways to avoid it, right? So Forbes and I have come up with Five Strategies (that is, Forbes shared the strategies, I'm coming up with some additional tips and resources).
Don't forget that the music for the Elevate Your 8 Podcast comes from Ben Sound.

OH MY GOD - I am so honored and excited to share today’s episode of Elevate Your 8 - it’s quite possibly the biggest deal interview to date!
My guest today is Sarah Knight - NY Best Selling Author of books such as “The Life Changing Magic of Not Giving a Fuck,” “Get Your Shit Together,” “You Do You,” “Calm the Fuck Down,” and the newest, “Fuck No!”
Before Sarah became an “anti-guru,” she spent fifteen years as a book editor in New York City. The utterly terrifying decision to quit that career underpins much of the advice in her best-selling No Fucks Given Guides series.
In the NFGG’s, Sarah writes about mental health, setting goals, taking risks, getting motivated, getting organized, and all the usual self-help stuff...but she does it with profanity and silly charts and long-form analogies involving cartoon chipmunks. It DOES work.
It was such a joy to talk with Sarah and realize that we are simpatico with many of our own philosophies - plus she also prefers Diet Coke to Diet Pepsi and Madonna to GaGa.
MEANWHILE - I'm cooking up some very cool stuff during this Summer Break...including a NEW membership and a FREE Masterclass. You can register for the masterclass HERE. it's happening on Saturday, July 24th at 10 am PST. I'll see you there!
I've got more vacation going on this week - I'm doing a Staycation while some of my teammates from SilverPeak Performance are in North Carolina swimming at Short Course Yards Nationals.
This week is all about self-care for me. I'm planning to spend some good quality time alone, with Duke (my dog) and some friends of mine. It's time to spoil myself, my dog, and get my routine back.
See, I've had a bit of a tough time coming out of Covid, getting back to work five days a week, AND balancing all this other "stuff," so it's time to get back to basics. More on that later.
And, of course, I'm launching my membership this week, "The Smart Side Hustle Society." You can still get on the waitlist, OR register for my Saturday webinar, "How to Run Your Side Hustle in Just One Hour a Day." Either way, y'all are in for a treat!
See you SOON!!!
It's been almost two years since this episode launched...and in that time, I've come to think of Adam Schaeuble as not only a coach and mentor but as a really amazing friend. Adam gives so much of himself with every lesson, every podcast episode, and every hilarious Instagram Reel.
This was my first collaboration with Adam, but it won't be the last. Adam will likely be providing a masterclass for the Smart Side Hustle Society and he's shared some great material with me that I'll be posting after the summer vacation.
Meanwhile, enjoy this episode, one of the Greatest Hits of Elevate Your 8.
I am SO effing excited to publish this show! I had an absolute blast talking with Adam Schaeuble, the Ph.D. (Previously Heavy Dude) of the Million Pound Mission and Casting the Pod. Adam shares some of his story on how he lost 100 pounds, opened his own gym and shared his passion for health and fitness around his community in Bloomington, Indiana. Five years later, Adam has helped the citizens of Bloomington lose over 35,000 pounds and he's not stopping until the nation reaches ONE MILLION!
Adam and I share a love of 90's pop culture (Party Time, Excellent!), letting our passion be our purpose; and, of course, podcasting! Make sure you listen to the very end of the show to catch the "blooper" cut!
To learn more about Adam, check out his bio HERE.

I hope you are having an amazing summer so far. I thought I would just pop in and give you a quick update on my break!
I'm enjoying the downtime and I can't wait to get back to it! See you soon!
This episode is my most downloaded one to date! And that makes me giggle because of that whole "shake it off" thing.
But seriously - it's so easy to let one little insignificant thing wreck your whole day...
That TPS report thing...
The damned copier...
Not enough pieces of flair...
You get the picture. So rather than let the day tank or destroy the copier, use one of these ten little tricks to shake off the bad day and move on.
You CAN do it. And it's super easy...and fun, too.
Meanwhile - while Got Side Hustle is on summer break, I'm gearing up to launch my first membership program, The Smart Side Hustle Society. You can get on the waitlist today and get all the launch updates...PLUS you'll be eligible for lots of pre-launch goodies!
I'm really excited to re-release this episode on how your values impact your productivity and vice-versa.
We go where our values lead us. If we value getting lots of shit done, our time management will focus entirely on finishing those projects and moving to the next thing. If we value scrolling and kicking it, then we get very little done, but maybe we feel good about that in the immediate here and now.
Either way - this is a conversation you must have with yourself every time you chose activities and priorities.
But don't stress about it - ease into it, learn and grow.
You've got this.
Meanwhile - I'm SO excited to be launching my first membership, The Smart Side Hustle Society, and it's time for YOU to get on the waitlist so you get the first shot at all the launch goodies! CLICK HERE to get on the waitlist today!
SO: here’s the deal. Finals are over, summer is officially here, and I’ve come to realize that I have WAY too much on my plate. Even though the college doesn’t close, there’s still that underlying notion that things should slow down, get a little easier, right?
No fucking way. I’m busier than I’ve ever been. And I’ve got to get some stuff off my plate.
In this episode, I’m talking about what I need to do to get my priorities in gear. How I want to realign my life and get things in order. And I’ve decided that Got Side Hustle is going on summer break.
So you’ll be treated to the Greatest Hits of Elevate Your 8 and Got Side Hustle while I realign my shit - and then I’ll be back with new vigor and energy. Because I deserve it - and you all, especially, y’all deserve it too!

Summer vacay is here and it’s time to CHILL a bit. I’m taking that advice myself, but I wanted to put out some tips and tricks on some little bitty things you can do every day to work your small business and make your side hustle AMAZING. I love the idea of chunking out small periods of time here and there to do the little things that help move your biz forward - like engaging in your community, writing an email to your list, or creating graphics in Canva. So here are 8 of those - I hope you LOVE them.
In that vein, I have a workbook that can help you get all the shit done in your side hustle in just ONE HOUR a day! I know, it sounds unbelievable, but it truly does work! You can grab that little freebie RIGHT HERE.

This week we talk to Rebecca Kay about how to take back control of your life and your time, especially if you have a corporate job and are a mom. I loved this conversation with Rebecca - she’s an incredibly genuine woman with an amazing coaching business!
The audio is a little wonky in places, so just wanted to make you aware.

Her mission is to help mompreneurs like her, leverage the power of systems, strategy, and structure to build their businesses without having to feel guilty about pursuing their purpose as a mother.

Zoom - dang. How many of us have a true love/hate relationship with Zoom (or Go-To Meetings, or Google Meet, or whatever else is out there)? For realz, the pandemic put virtual meeting software front and center - it’s been a blessing and a curse, it’s been groundbreaking and frustrating. And I’ve got news for y’all - Zoom is NOT going away.
I’ve been completely blown away by how meaningful Zoom can be, but I also know that it’s really REALLY hard to be fully engaged at times because it’s basically a passive method of communication. And I wouldn’t be the first person who’s turned off their video to work on other stuff.
So - this week’s show is dedicated to how you can be more engaged and present during Zoom meetings. They are all easy tips that are fun to implement and you can, in some ways, even make a game of it. Enjoy the episode!

I really loved talking to Johnny Guidry of Refractive Podcast and probably could have continued the conversation for hours on end. Johnny is funny, smart, caring, genuine, and has a big heart.
Johnny and I talk about his journey to becoming a coach and a podcaster right out of corporate America. His story is really powerful and he is definitely an example of someone who realized he was not happy in his current day job and paved his own way. You’ll love this interview!
A 16-year veteran of Human Resources and Training, Johnny Guidry is a motivational speaker, coach, facilitator, and the founder of Refractive Coaching. This week, while preparing a new freebie, I got to thinking about what goes through everyone’s heads before they hire a coach. I recall how I made MY decision. It wasn’t easy...until it WAS.
The process that I describe in this episode is exactly what I went through before I hired my current business coach, Lindsay Maloney. Hiring a coach is a BIG investment if you are going to do it right...and just like any big investment, you’ve got to do your homework.
I also think that there’s a certain amount of “universal interference,” LOL, when you are going through this process. But I can honestly say that I discussed with myself all five of these considerations before finally taking the plunge. And boy, am I glad that I did!

Every once in a while, I get to interview a previous staff member from my housing days and it’s just as much fun to connect with them in that way than to get to know the new Side Hustler Person. Christina Armstrong is one of those people.
If you are a person who struggles to say “NO” in Student Affairs work, then this is the episode for you. And I was reminded of Christina’s conviction in being a well rounded professional as well. She taught me a thing or two during our interview.
Christina is a results oriented Personal Productivity Coach who specializes in taking Student Affairs and Higher Education professionals from overwhelmed to overjoyed. Nobody knows the unique needs of a Higher Ed professional quite like a fellow Higher Ed professional.
As a 10 year veteran, Christina knows the unique challenges of the field. What works for a live-in RD won't work for a Director of Student Activities! By combining the unique skills and talents of each person with the best tools and resources, Christina helps give stressed workers more control over their time, energy, and freedom!

At the beginning of this year I went on the quest to find the perfect planner! Sure, there’s no such thing, but it was going to be a fun experiment and I wanted to get started. Planners can certainly be very helpful in keeping our lives in order, setting goals and creating a checklist of tasks and projects to be completed. And don’t forget the occasional affirmations or other motivational things.
The goal for 2021 was to try out four planners, one for each quarter, and then share my experience with you. I started out with Goal Crazy. A fabulous planner in Rose Gold that really helps set you up for success before your day begins and lets you reflect on the day when it ends.
I thoroughly enjoyed my 90 days with Goal Crazy and this episode will give you all the deets. ENJOY!

I had an absolutely delightful time speaking with this week's guest, Chris Hurley, from Perspective Pathways. Chris and I are both Recovering Housing Professionals and our places of employment not far from each other. He's quite the renaissance man given his youth and I am so excited to see what Chris brings into the world through his work.
Chris Hurley is an educator who has dedicated their career to supporting Artists and Designers. In Higher Education, he has had the joy of working at a number of art and design colleges including MICA, The New School, Otis College of Art and Design, and is now a Career Advisor at ArtCenter College of Design. As a former design student and professional designer, Chris brings design thinking and creative problem solving into every aspect of their work.
After years of supporting art and design students, Chris decided to open his own business, coaching Artists and Designers to have a successful creative career in the industry of their dreams. Chris believes art and design have the power to change the world and wants to support creatives in creating positive change. Chris is also passionate about personal finance which he hopes to bring into his business at some point in helping artists and designers fund a creative career.
While still a beginner, Chris loves the Irish language and serves on the board of the Irish language school The Gaelic League of Los Angeles.

I spent about five hours in urgent care this week - nothing too "urgent," per se, but I did have the doc tell me one thing: you have too much stress right now.
YIKES. Isn't that what they tell you when they are about to put you on medicine or tell you to lose 50 pounds? Well, I do need to do the latter, but that's beside the point
By Friday of this past week, I was crying almost every hour and I finally figured out why. So this week's episode is all about three things that are making me sick and stressed right now.
They aren't surprising things - they are probably things that happen to you, too. And they are easy to mitigate and navigate, so stay tuned for a new episode in the coming weeks on how I'm choosing to deal with it all. I have a plan, of course!
Do you have introvert qualities? I bet some of you do! And did you know that introverts make amazing business owners? To see if this sounds like you, CLICK HERE to pick up my new assessment and guide.
This week we are talking with a healthcare professional who is changing lives in so many ways. Not only does she work a nursing job in LA, but she also invests in real estate! Talk about getting your Side Hustle ON! This was a totally delightful conversation with Savannah Arroyo, also known as The Networth Nurse.
Savannah and I talk about all things real-estate-side-hustle, which is completely greek to me, but it was an amazing conversation. We discuss working with your spouse, something we have in common; and what it's like to work a full time job and side hustle with kids, which we do not have in common. LOL.
Savannah "The Networth Nurse" is a full-time Registered Nurse in Los Angeles, California. She uses her skills as a leader in healthcare operations to manage multi-family syndications. She also helps busy medical professionals create passive income through real estate investing.

If you’ve read my book, “The 9 to 5 Side Hustler: A Guide to Managing Your Day Job with Your Small Business,” then you know that clear separation is key to finding the time to do both jobs well. It’s not hard work to do this - but you do have to work hard. It’s important to be intentional and thoughtful about your approach - but these six tips will be helpful to as you find clarity with this process.

Well, friends, here we are! The new show is launching and I am SO friggin' excited! It's been great fun to work with my coach and make the decision to niche down a bit and start talking to career professionals in higher education about creating time to work on their side hustles.
And the result is "The Got Side Hustle Show." Still the same host - me, Kris McPeak - and still a huge focus on productivity and time management. "Elevate Your 8" really hasn't gone anywhere - it's still the basis for everything I teach and role model and it will be shared often with the new format.
But I really wanted to start talking to the people that I'm best designed to support, and that's folks like me who work in higher education. In that vein, not all the guests will be higher education practitioners, but we can all learn from everyone who has ever held a full-time job AND a side hustle.
If you haven't listened to the BONUS episode from February 22nd, please go check that out because it really digs into why I wanted to shift my show around.
And now - here's my FIRST guest!
Leslie Levito is an entrepreneur with over 25 years of experience. Her first business was a multi-million dollar action sports retail shop. She moved to LA and became the International Sales Director and then COO of Baker Boys Distribution. Her next stop was Co-Founder of a top branding agency, called FaustLevito, which created brands that hit some of the hottest Top 10 lists in Los Angeles.
Currently, she has 2 businesses... she relaunched her branding agency as Etcetera and has a startup called Cutclass, which gives professionals and small business owners are the tips and tools she has learned doing business and getting her executive MBA. She just launched her first podcast, Out to Launch.
She’s an expert in branding and business strategy, and flip turns in the pool.

Well, here it is. I’ve been working on this new show concept for about three months now. And I’m so excited to roll it out!
Elevate Your 8 is now The Got Side Hustle Show! This is the show where I help Career Professionals in higher education create time for their side hustle so they don’t waste their potential. You know who you are - the Student Life staffer who longs to create a consulting business on diversity. The Fiscal Services auditor would like to build a tax preparation gig on the side. Or the Career Services manager who wants to coach career changers on the weekends. There are dozens and dozens of possibilities and I want to help you get there.
This show will feature solo episodes where I teach a concept or strategy, interviews with career professionals, and “hot seat” coaching episodes (which are FREE - apply here).
I can’t wait to share more interviews and episodes with you! Make sure you hit the SUBSCRIBE button so you don’t miss an episode!
We are creeping up on the last episode of Elevate Your 8 and getting ready to transition to "The Got Side Hustle Show." Are you as excited as I am?
For this interview, my mind was absolutely blown to realize just how strong one woman can be. Rebecca Packard worked as an EMT and a Firefighter AT THE SAME TIME before an injury forced her retirement. Now she helps other people deal with their trauma and her story is pretty amazing. You will really be moved by the episode.
A leading accredited preventative trauma care teacher and educator, self-help instructor, Youtuber, speaker and Live Happy ambassador. Rebecca works with entrepreneurs and service-focused individuals to scale, adapt and pivot their life for whole-life wellness and success.
She is trained in disciplines including Emotion Code, Body Code, EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques or Tapping), Say’s Who Method, Ho'oponopono, Advanced Ho'oponopono, Yoga, Meditation, Crystal healing, and 15 years of Emergency Medicine as a career Emergency Medical Technician.
Over the past 5 years Rebecca has transformed the lives of many business owners, coaches, and talent from an array of industries through her private practice, workshops, and speaking events.
Don't forget to mark your calendars for February 24th - there are some amazing new changes coming to the Elevate Your 8 Podcast!

From LinkedIn to resumes to automated candidate systems, today's podcast interview covered a lot of ground and I LOVED talking to this lady!
Claudia is a Career and Negotiation Strategist and she helps serious professionals secure dream jobs, with dream salaries, at their dream companies -- including fast-growing startups, rockstar midsize companies, and Fortune 500 and Tech Giants like Amazon, Google & Facebook. Some even received salary increases of up to $50,000. Business Insider selected her as one of the Top Most Innovate Career Coaches of 2020 and her work has been featured in Forbes, MSNBC, Yahoo! Finance as well as other major news outlets.

Something else fun about podcasting is when you can use it as an excuse to catch up with your old friends. I mean, that’s what Zoom is for, right?
But seriously - getting together with Mark Martell from the University of Illinois-Chicago for a good 45 minute visit was one of the highlights of the month of December. Mark and I met when we were both working for University Housing at UIC in 2000, and we’ve been great friends ever since. Our interview covers a ton of ground through that 20 year relationship - what drew him to Higher Education, why does he stay, how did he manage to stay at the same institution for almost 20 years, and what was it like working on his PhD while working full time. Oh, and why is Wonder Woman the shit, and who performs “Elephant Love Song Medley” the best at karaoke.
Mark Martell is a 1.5 generation Filipino American who grew up in Miami, Florida. Mark has 20 years of Higher Ed Administration, including teaching experience, and he holds a PhD in educational policy studies. His research interests include race, gender, comics, education, and Asian American topics. Mark has a chapter in the recent publication Teaching to Close the Achievement Gap for Students of Color: Understanding the Impact of Factors Outside the Classroom (Routledge Press).

HEY: are you looking to set up your first side hustle in 2021? Take my FREE skills assessment to figure out where to start!
Welcome to my first Workshop Week!
Since the Elevate Your 8 Philosophy covers your workday, then I think it’s time we started talking about the main tool you need to get the job that aligns with your values and talents.
The Resume.
Many people know how to create one, but very few people actually know how to format a resume so it elevates your skills, talents, and career highlights.
I’ve been in the workforce for more than 30 years; and since switching to the resume format that I’m going to teach you in this series, I have NEVER had a failed job search. And I’ve ALWAYS been invited to interview.
The key to a solid, functional resume is completely understanding where you’ve been and how to represent what you can do. Potential employers want to know how you can contribute to their organization - they DON’T want to look at a laundry list of your job titles.
For this final lesson, we are discussing Career Highlights and Action Verbs. Career Highlights are those "feathers in your cap" that help your resume stand out. And then action verbs bring more credibility to your resume by speaking to exactly what you did in a particular program, task, or responsibility. My favorite online reference is at The Muse.
Did you enjoy this workshop week? I'd LOVE to know! Please email me at info@krismcpeak.com

Lesson Four - Rank, Post, Format
So let’s recap: you reflected on all your previous positions and wrote down the tasks and day to day duties of each one. That was exhausting, I know. Next, you took those tasks and grouped them into themes, then turning those themes into various skill sets. And then you listed the most relevant tasks under the skill sets.
With today’s lesson, you are going to rank your skill sets accordingly so the most important ones are listed towards the top and format your document so it fits the position for which you’re applying.
That’s right - you may very well be tweaking this document from time to time in order to best fit the representative duties for that position.
So carve out some time this week to explore the entire workshop, and feel free to email me at info@krismcpeak.com if you have any questions about the workshop!
This is Lesson 3 of our Workshop Week! Today we're talking about Skills and Categories...

Lesson Two - What Can You Do?
In Lesson One, we talked about doing a thorough excavating of your current resume, including but not limited to creating a week or so of “Time on Task” at your current job in order to identify all the various tasks that you have done in your current and previous jobs. This can be a rather tedious exercise and I totally compliment you on completing this.
After today’s lesson, you will be preparing to organize and synthesize all of these tasks into various themed groups that will lead to your skills and competencies.

So, I am finding that some of my very best friends are coming to me through this podcasting thing. And many of these people I have only met once or twice in “real life,” if at all! DANG! I guess when you find your tribe, it’s very easy to find those like-minded people who “get” you, right?
Today’s guest is the ultimate example of such a relationship. I’m talking to Paula Miller of the Reclaiming You Podcast. I met Paula very briefly during Adam Schaeuble’s live event in September of 2019. She joined the Rise and Bloom mastermind group shortly thereafter, and we have finally come together for a dual interview that is airing on both our shows.
If you are a 50-something woman, then this show is REALLY going to speak to you, but I personally think that we hit the nail on the head on many topics, including body shame, finding ourselves, and being a new podcaster.
Paula Miller has battled with obesity, body shame, and low self-esteem since kindergarten. She eventually lost 100# and became inspired to compete in Bodybuilding and eventually found CrossFit which was her life for 7 years. Paula then transitioned into powerlifting and qualified for drug-free Nationals where she received multiple records all this while battling hormone imbalances, infertility, and diagnosed with Stage 3 Adrenal Fatigue.
An RN of 28 years by day and a striving entrepreneur by night, Paula has a deep desire to make an impact to serve others by helping to overcome body shame by developing daily habits and a positive mindset.
Paula is a host of her own podcast Reclaiming You and a co-host on the Lost AF Wellness Wellness and is on a mission to help those who are lost and alone and need to release fears, frustrations, and limiting beliefs and transform those thoughts into a sense of joy, fulfillment and a passion for life.

Look out Elevater’s, because we are going to bust out some serious sleep info in the next month or so. It all starts with today’s episode and my new sleep guru, Mollie McLocklin.
Mollie is the creator of Sleep Is A Skill, a company that optimizes people’s sleep through a unique blend of technology, accountability, and behavioral change. The company was born from “scratching her own itch” after a lifetime of poor sleep habits culminated into a mega-challenging bout of insomnia for months without end. With a background in psychology & human behavior, she went down the rabbit hole to solve her sleep disturbances without sleeping aids. She became fascinated with chronobiology, and by extension, its practical applications to restore a state of homeostasis not only to her sleep but also to her life as a whole. Knowing the difference between a life with sleep and without, she’s now dedicated her life to sharing the forgotten skill set of sleep.
Mollie and I talk about circadian rhythms, sleeping with the TV on, and why alcohol really doesn’t help you sleep at all. And I think she’s pretty well convinced me to buy an Oura Ring, finally. I really enjoyed our conversation and I know that you will as well!
After you awake from your blissful sleep, your next move should be to nail down a new morning routine! You can put one together when you join my minicourse, “Morning Routine Glory.” In five days you’ll have a morning routine that takes you from hitting snooze, to complete all your “to-do’s” CLICK HERE to get the free course today!
Phew! All these interviews lately - it's been incredibly exciting! But today I thought I would send a little bonus over your way since the holidays are coming!
I used to do a Runner's World Holiday Streak back in the day when I was still running...so I thought it would be fun to do a Gratitude Streak this year. A challenge. 39 days where we express appreciation for something in our lives. I share three ways you can give this a try.
If you choose the sticky notes, make sure you tag me on Instagram @krismcpeak...I'll be watching and will give away some goodies on January 2nd.
You can also download your own 39 Day Gratitude Journal by going to www.krismcpeak.com/gratitude.

Now we get to further deconstruct the importance of finding happiness in all that you do, from your morning routine until you put your head on the pillow.
It’s hard NOT to smile when you listen to Susmitha’s passion and excitement for pursuing happiness in our day to day lives. Her drive to help people find joy has made her a sought after podcast interview - and I haven’t even begun to tell you about her awesome vegan cooking skills!

Having grown up on a vegetarian diet, her vegan journey began in 2003 when she became aware of the cruel practices in the dairy industry. After that, there was no looking back! She started out as an ethical vegan and later learned about the health, environment, and spiritual benefits of the lifestyle.
Susmitha has been exploring spirituality and energy work since she was a teenager. Her passion for veganism and connection to spirituality are the biggest influences in every aspect of her life. I was so excited to interview one of SilverPeak Performance’s Coaches and Yoga Instructors, Carolyn Neuhausen. I really loved this conversation because Carolyn gets pretty vulnerable and we cover a lot of ground. Oh, what I wouldn’t give to be her career coach for realz!
Carolyn is a freelance writer and yoga and wellness coach. She believes the path to wellness encompasses nurturing all aspects of life - those that affect the mind, body and spirit. Her own path to wellness began in 2013, when she was introduced to high intensity interval training, fueling confidence, pride and positive changes in her body. After gaining weight in high school and college, and ultimately losing 35 lbs, she understands the struggle and the emotional highs and lows that can be a part of the wellness journey.
Carolyn is a certified yoga teacher, and completed her 200 hours of training through Madre studio in Eagle Rock. Her love for yoga has deepened her understanding of the mind-body-emotion connection and how each plays a part in the total wellness of the individual. When she's not coaching or practicing yoga, Carolyn can be found writing, hiking or gardening.

I’m pretty sure that in another life, J.J. Caffey and I were the same people, now reincarnated in this life, having split one brain into two have become superpower strong, etc. etc. This interview was one of my absolute FAVORITES of all time.
JJ and I spend our time talking about revolutionizing today’s work culture, something that we both feel strongly about. We touch on things like high quality/deep work, avoiding burnout, pros and cons of co-working spaces, and trying to keep that 8-hour workday within the framework of working from home and doing remote work. There’s also a big focus on how management needs to allow their employees to engage in self-care and downtime. Seriously, managers, listen up!
JJ Caffey is an entrepreneur specializing in the future of work. With a focus on community, connectedness, and efficiency, JJ’s mission is to revolutionize American work culture. JJ is also Co-Founder of Venture Foragers, a venture capital research firm enabling student teams to explore frontier tech sectors. YAY - I am LOVING these opportunities to talk with young professionals about jobs, careers, time management, and so forth. These hot seat sessions are getting super fun for me!
In this week’s episode, I’m talking to Joey from Portland, OR. Joey just graduated from his university after spending two years at his local community college - that’s always a smart thing! We talked about seeking that ideal job while still living at home but being a fully-functional-adult-member-of-society, as my dad liked to call it. Joey’s actually in a really good place because he’s working and still connected to his internship, so together we filled in the blanks and made a networking plan. GOOD STUFF.
Joseph (Joey) Surico is a 22-year-old college grad who's based in Portland, Oregon, he just completed a bachelor's degree in marketing at Portland State University and is now in the middle of a job hunt during unordinary circumstances. He currently works in Geek Squad at Best Buy doing computer repair but also works a marketing internship at Portland-based running event company Terrapin Events but is now searching for a full time opportunity so that he can fully dedicate his skills to a job

Hey! Welcome to Episode 4! I just celebrated by 26th wedding anniversary with my hubby and he took me to Las Vegas. The “Elevate Your 8” philosophy totally went to hell on this trip and I felt a bit of Routine Hangover when I got home. So today’s episode is all about how I enjoyed my amazing anniversary weekend and how I’ve been rebounding. Because OH MY GOD - the hubby and I really enjoyed acting like newlyweds again and getting home was tricky. As I’m listening to the show to edit, I’m realizing that the show is a part editorial comment on the current state of Las Vegas, but that’s okay. I had a lot to say.
I have a new mini-course to help my Elevater Peeps with your morning routine. You can find that at krismcpeak.com/morningglory. Welcome Welcome Welcome to Season 2 of “Elevate Your 8!”
Wow, Season 1 was long, wasn’t it? LOL. Not really sure how I decided I wanted to have a Season 2, but now we have it, and there you go.
OH MY GOSH, it’s been a summer and a half, hasn’t it? COVID this and COVID that. BLAH. While I recognize that this is the most significant global event of my life and I completely understand the severity and impact, I don’t have to like it; and, thus, I don’t. But I’m hanging in there like many of you and I’m making the best of it. I have about a dozen face coverings at this stage of all sizes, shapes, and colors!
But, Season 2...I have a new intro and I’m super pumped about it! The musician and narrator’s name is Chris Corral and he’s open to doing more freelance work, so I hope you’ll check out his YouTube Channel and email me him HERE if you’d like to get some music composed and performed for your podcast or whatever you need.
I hope that all of you had a chance to pick up my new book, “The 9-to-5 Side Hustler: A Guide to Balancing Your Day Job With Your Small Business,” yesterday on Amazon. It hit #1 Best Seller in 7 categories and was a #1 New Release in 4 Categories. You can still get the book today for 99 cents because I am just that cool.
Today’s Guest is Nick Loper, from Side Hustle Nation. In his own words, Nick is….
“Chief Side Hustler at Side Hustle Nation.
I’m an entrepreneur involved in a variety of projects. Like any business, it has its ups and downs, which can be stressful, but I learn something new every day.
I started this site because I believe in the hustle. After all, what’s riskier: starting a business, or relying on your job as your only source of income?
I used to work full-time for a giant corporation, but I built my biz nights and weekends. You can do it too.
Everyone has their reasons to side hustle:

This is the final episode of “Season 1,” which began in October of 2018. I’m excited to take the show to a new level with the publication of my third book and a relaunch of Elevate Your 8! So for the next couple weeks there will be some bonus interviews and compilations to get you through!
Season 2 will kick off the day AFTER my book launch! That's right, my third book, "The 9-to-5 Side Hustler: A Guide to Balancing Your Day Job with Your Small Business" will be on sale on Amazon for 99 cents. And that is August 4th, my sister Jennifer's birthday. You can join the launch team by clicking HERE - and you'll get all sort of early access to chapters, giveaways on launch day, and other fun swag!
But now let’s talk about Lilli - I first met her when she was invited to be the keynote speaker for our Lancers for Life Leadership Academy that I launched at PCC in the fall of…. 2016, if memory serves. Dang, that was a while ago! Lilli’s message really stuck with me so as I was visiting my LinkedIn page one day I found her profile and invited her to join me. In this episode we talk about how people can bounce back from furloughs and layoffs, reinvent their careers, and exactly why Strengths Finder is THE penultimate personality assessment tool! We share the talents of Maximizer, Relator, and Connectedness, so it was a great conversation all around.

HOLY SHIT has it been a few tumultuous weeks!!!!! I really did fall down a big old rabbit hole of reflection, exhaustion, and busyness with a side of shame/guilt and some other “stuff.” During all this time, I also helped my swim team get back in the water, I decided to write a third book, and I am doubling down on weight loss and going dairy free. FUCK YEAH.
But I’ve also been back to work for about 5 weeks now and I’m learning a great deal about coming to terms with what is, what was, and what could be. And that’s what I’m talking about today.
Meanwhile, you’ll be seeing some changes on the show during the month of July as I take a short hiatus to focus on the book and do a little bit of rebranding.
NEW MUSIC
NEW INTRO
NEW OFFERINGS
OLDIES BUT GOODIES
The book will launch on August 4th and the podcast will relaunch on August 5th. I am really looking forward to seeing you all there! Join the book launch team HERE and get all sorts of free goodies!!
Hey! Here's the second repeat guest in the history of my show - not counting like panels and stuff. And I'm glad it's Jeff because he's just one of my favorite people in the world.
Remember, I'm a "Recovering Campus Housing Professional," and spent about 20 years living in and managing college residence halls. Jeff was one of my staff members at my very last housing job and was part of what I consider to be my BEST, STRONGEST, and MOST FUN professional staff EVER. I loved each and every one of these amazing people.
Fast Forward 7 years later, I'm still working at my post-housing gig which is a HUGE deal for me, and Jeff is a Career Advisor at Chico State University. That's right, I'm still on this Careers-During-Covid-19 thing, but hey - it's absolutely just messing up people's careers right now and I feel the need to talk about it. I think there are definitely things we could all be doing to help people get back to work, and I'm so grateful that Jeff is out there spreading the word.
In this episode we talk about the positive soft skills that students (well, anyone for that matter) need to get into the workforce. Jeff shares his theory about how students can get connected into a job right out of college. And he offers three suggestions on how people can keep their heads up high during this time of uncertainty.
Now we just need to get Mark Brice and Shawn Brackett on this show, too!

This was an incredibly delightful experience and talk about a generous, witty, and compassionate woman. Dr. Lois Frankel, President of Corporate Coaching International, is a New York Times and Wall Street Journal bestselling author, executive coach, and an internationally sought after keynote speaker in the fields of career and leadership development.
Dr. Lois and I continue the conversation I started with Tiffany Taylor in our previous episode: what’s unique about the current career environment due to Covid-19. She provides outstanding advice and tips on networking, adding value, and being heard. Dr. Lois is a true champion for strong women in the workplace.
Although she is proud of her many accomplishments, Lois is most proud of having founded two nonprofit organizations in Los Angeles: Motivating Our Students through Experience (MOSTE) and Bloom Again Foundation. She has been recognized for her work with women and girls with the Los Angeles County Commission on Women’s Woman of the Year Award, Maybelline New York’s Women Who Empower through Education Award, a Doctorate in Humane Letters from Phillips Graduate Institute, and a Presidential Medal and Distinguished Alumna Award from the State University of New York at Oswego. Her earned doctorate in Counseling Psychology is from the University of Southern California. Originally from New York, Lois loves living in California where she enjoys gardening, bicycling, and photography year-round.

I DO like to go back in time a little and connect with my Residence Life colleagues, because I worked with some pretty amazing people. Today’s guest is one of those! Tiffany Taylor and I met when she was working at Stanford University and we connected over running. And if you can keep a secret, I’ve had this crazy girl crush on her ever since we met!
Tiffany and I talk about how she successfully transitioned from Student Affairs to EdTech and essentially developed her current position at HandShake. There are SO many valuable tidbits in this interview and I had so much fun visiting with my running buddy again.
Tiffany spent 12 years in Higher Education working in Student Affairs and now serves as the Training & Education Lead at Handshake. She has worked intimately with student development and retention and is always seeking new avenues of learning.
Her pivot into EdTech was a way to expand her reach in working toward access for ALL students by connecting with students beyond a singular institution. At Handshake, she is able to continue her "student first" approach with a direct mission-alignment in providing access for all.
Find her on LinkedIn here where she shares weekly #tayloredtips

Okay, I got a little crazed this week thinking about all the people who are out of work and struggling. And I wanted to talk about that.
You guys - getting laid off totally sucks. Getting furloughed is horrible. But it’s NOT THE END OF THE WORLD.
In fact - it might be a blessing!
And I’m not kidding. This Gallup Poll suggests that 85 percent of Americans are unengaged at their job. EIGHTY FIVE PERCENT. That means only 15% of you are loving what you do. And that pisses me off. We spend way too much time at work to hate what we do.
In this episode I got into strategies for changing your situation, and I am very intentionally trying to set a fire under your butt. SOME OF YOU NEED IT. So listen up and get motivated. And let me help! FOR FREE. CLICK HERE to sign up for a free discovery call and let’s talk about your scenario.

I hope everyone is doing okay, staying healthy, and taking care of yourself. Right now, more than anything, we need serious coping mechanisms and a way to keep our minds, bodies, and spirits healthy and vivacious. Today’s episode is meant to do that…
BUT: so is this amazing FREE online summit that I’ve produced with the help of my buddies at Rise and Bloom. It’s called “Coping with Covid.” With more than 12 health and wellness entrepreneurs participating with free offers, interviews, online courses and ebooks. this Virtual Online Summit was designed to specifically with YOU in mind so you can find comfort in this time of uncertainty. And it’s absolutely, positively FREE.
I’ve been really enjoying all the interviews I’ve been having with amazing people who have amazing stories to tell. But it was nice to just hang out with myself this week and talk about the stuff that is bringing me hope and joy. While listening to the news (the reputable news, anyway) and staying abreast of what’s happening with the virus in our world right now, I still think it’s incredibly important to keep our spirits up and our vibration HIGH. So that’s what today’s episode is all about!
that today. I don’t want you to miss an episode. I’m adding a bunch of bonus episodes to the mix and if you’re not subscribed there’s a good chance you’ll miss out on those. Click here to subscribe in Apple Podcasts!
