It’s hard to remember WHO you are if you don’t remember WHOSE you are.
The world says we’re “supposed” to be a lot of things—but who God says we’re supposed to be is the only thing that matters.
And Hannah Conway is here to remind us that the only thing we’re supposed to be is a child of God.
In her six-week devotional, In Case You Forget, she reminds teenage Christ followers [and adults too] who God says they are in His Word. They are made in God's image; they are loved by the maker of the universe; they are treasured; they are co-heirs to God's Kingdom.
We had a great time recording this conversation, and only cried a little! Ha!

We are so excited about this four-part mini series with the younger generation.
The future is bright! And God is using this generation in great ways.
On this episode we welcome a newly engaged couple—Emili Dyce & Seth Devine!
This generation values transparency, diversity, and are asking GREAT questions like...What’s true? What do we believe? Why do we believe it? Why does it matter? And how do we live out our faith?
Their questions are valid. In an age where truth is relative and we’re bombarded with so many different views and news 24-7, navigating life becomes even more challenging for these young adults.
We are so here for their questions and so here for this conversation! AND we talk about their wedding date! SQUEAL!

God’s Faithfulness Through a Life-Threatening Eating Disorder…
Sarah Laughren joins us on this episode and shares her story of struggle with body image.
Many women can relate to struggling with body image. In a world filled with unrealistic expectations of beauty, and perhaps we have our own unrealistic standards of beauty, it’s important to hold tight to what God says about us.
What God says is the whole truth, and he says we are fearfully and wonderfully made.
We hope you enjoy this episode, and as you listen, consider these things:
Where does your identity lie—in who Christ says you are or who the world thinks you are?
What are you feeling about God right now? And is it time to go back to His Word and trust what is true over what we’re feeling?
Give thought to your own story. Is God asking you to share your story with someone, and if so, who might that be?
Listen wherever you get your podcasts or use the link in our profile.
And as always, we'd love if you'd share this episode with your friends and/or leave us a review. Thank you!
A Message from Sarah Laughren:
Hey y’all! My name is Sarah Laughren and I have been married to my husband, Will, for 13 years. We share two beautiful boys together.
The walk of a believer isn’t an easy road…thank goodness for our faithful God who walked it perfectly in our place.
I pray that as you listen, you will feel the Lord speaking into your heart to love, know, and serve Him today.

God Can Work Anything for Good…
Anything? Even when the bad things?
Lauren Groves gives a resounding, “YES”! How does she know? Because she’s lived it!
On this episode, Lauren shares openly about bad things that have happened—a murder, a tornado, but has seen God work through those bad situations in a way only He can do. It’s the hardships that drew her closer to God and gave her the inspiration for her new devotional for teens, “New Year New You”.
As you listen, here are 3 things to consider:
We may not know the why behind the hard things in life, but we can trust who does (God).
Is there a story in your life that God has given you, but you’ve been hesitant to share? Consider sharing it. Our stories really do matter.
God is working out all things for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28).

And as always, we'd love if you'd share this episode with your friends and/or leave us a review. Thank you!

Does the word “discipleship” intimidate you?
As believers, we’re actually commanded to go and make disciples. But how? Where do we start? And how do we disciple our children?
Great questions!
You can do this. You don’t need a seminary degree. And you don’t need a ton of time. Simply repurpose the time you already have.
Let’s talk all about discipleship with Sarah Cowan Johnson, author of “Teach Your Children Well: A Step-by-Step Guide for Family Discipleship”.
She gives some great insight into discipleship and some seriously practical tools to help us disciple the children in our lives.
As you listen, consider these questions:
How are you intentional to share your faith with the children God has put in your life?
What God moments have you have seen?
What does the word discipleship mean to you?

Sexual Abuse in the Church & SBC Sexual Abuse Task Force…
Words fail us…
Sometimes there are topics where we find ourselves needing to simply be quiet, listen, ask a few questions, and learn.
This is one of those episodes.
As a word of caution, this conversation is heavy yet hopeful, but it may not be something for younger ears. This episode might also be triggering for anyone who has experienced sexual abuse. However, we believe this is an important and necessary conversation. We pray it promotes healing and brings glory to God.
As you listen, consider these questions:
What is my role or how does God want me to respond to this information? Does He want me to do anything?
How can we listen more and learn more?
How can we do a better job of creating a safe place for abuse victims in our churches? What resources or systems in place do we have?
Listen wherever you get your podcasts or use the link in our profile.
And as always, we'd love if you'd share this episode with your friends and/or leave us a review. Thank you!

How do we stay grateful in the midst of disappointment and suffering?
Great question. Let’s talk about it.
Beth Winn shares her story-–years of infertility, followed by the birth of premature twins, and her husband’s battle with chronic back pain.
It’s been no easy road for Beth, and sometimes it’s just one thing after another.
James 1:2 tells us to consider it a joy when we face trials. But how?
It might be difficult, but we can consider trials a joy. Life can be good…and hard at the same time.
Beth shares how she’s worked to remain grateful and how she’s seen God’s hand in her circumstances all along the way.

In 2006 Larry and Hannah Overton fell in love with a little boy at their church. His name was Andrew. Andrew was a foster child that the Overtons felt a great desire to provide a home for and to "become his forever family." He would be their sixth child, an addition to their five biological children.
A few short months later tragedy struck and their world was turned upside down. Andrew went home to be with Jesus when he passed away from a rare medical condition called Hypernatremia. This condition caused very high, fatal levels of sodium in his body. This sorrowful tragedy was compounded when Larry and Hannah were accused and charged in Andrews death.
On September 7, 2007 Hannah was convicted of capital murder and sent to a maximum security prison for life without the possibility of parole for a crime she didn't commit. This would leave Larry at home to care for their other 5 children. During Hannah's time in prison God not only held her and her family in His hands but also used this trial in mighty ways. After seven years of imprisonment, Hannah was exonerated and all charges were dropped on April 8th, 2015. On May 10th, 2017, Hannah was declared actually innocent! During this span, many have come to the Lord and the ministry is continually growing.
Although Hannah is home with her family, Hebrews 13:3 reminds her to "remember those in prison as if you were there with them." She and her husband founded Syndeo Ministries, a non-profit organization focused on helping women who are incarcerated and transitioning out of prison.

Today’s guest is Briana Stensrud. Briana is a human dignity advocate and the Director of Women of Welcome. Her passion is to equip the Church to engage more consistently and tangibly in holistic human dignity issues. Throughout her work in the pro-life movement, Briana continually faced questions from those concerned about immigrants and refugees. She holds a Masters of Biblical & Theological Studies from Dallas Theological Seminary and lives in Colorado Springs with her husband and two kids.
Women of Welcome is a community dedicated to diving into the whole of scripture to understand God’s heart for the immigrant and refugee. Although we often host authors and speakers, most of our very favorite episodes are those with women who are incredibly nervous to share their stories with us because of their humility and tender hearts. Today’s guest definitely fits that mold.
Amy Baker is Clarksville famous for loving on others through her baking. She shows up with a fudge pie or other delicious treat during times when many of us have no idea what to say or do. Amy is too humble to call what she does ministry, but Hannah and I would have to argue. That is exactly what it is.
We hope that by hearing our conversation with Amy you might think of how God wants to use your gifts to love others well.

Just Rest: A 90-Day Devotional Journal
*Rest.
For your soul.
According to the Anxiety and Depression Association of America, anxiety, and depression affect 40 million adults in the US aged 18 and above. This is 18% of the total population.
I also read about a group of college counseling directors that were surveyed. 95% said, “the number of students with significant psychological problems is a growing concern in their center or on campus.”*
*This same article suggested that the biggest problem impacting college students today is anxiety; depression was a close second.
You may be one of those who do struggle with worry, fear, anxiety, or depression.
Possibly, you deal with all of these challenges. Or, you may have picked up this book because you would like to experience more rest, more peace, and calmness deep within the depths of your soul. You are weary.
There is also a chance that your mom, grandmother, teacher, coach, or one of your mentors gave you this book. You are reading it to be nice to them. That’s okay too!
No matter your reason for reading, the goal is the same. We are going to learn how to find deep rest for your soul.

She went on to receive a Rocky Mountain Emmy nomination as a producer at ABC 15 and even worked in PR with local and national clients. As her family started to grow, Andy left the corporate world and co-founded Liquis Digital in 2008.

Since we became friends one of the things that Hannah and I have regularly done is to share honest discussions around scripture… and we thought it might be helpful to let you in on our conversations from time to time. We pray that our listeners will hear these “let’s talk about” episodes as just two pals seeking to learn more about the Savior and to grow in their faith. We hope that through hearing our takeaways, questions, difficulties, transparency and often awe of a God who is more than we can think or imagine, you are also encouraged as we all continue to work out our faith this side of Heaven.
Today’s episode comes from John 17 - when Jesus prayed for himself, for his disciples and all future believers during the Last Supper. We hope you’ll take the time to read this passage during your own time with the Lord and share your takeaways with us too! We love to hear from our listeners.

On today's episode we continue our "Let's Talk About" format and have a discussion around 3 considerations for understanding purpose.
1) Purpose starts with a relationship with Jesus
a. Relationships are intentional – Jeremiah 29:13
b. Relationships may be different depending on your season
c. A relationship with Jesus is always available – 2 Timothy 2:13
2) Purpose is discovered when we TAKE NOTICE
a. What is happening around you?
b. What are people saying to you?
c. What is stirring your heart ? (Psalm 37:4)
3) When it comes to purpose we can trust God’s perfect plan
a. Cease striving (Psalm 46:10)
b. Humility is not self-loathing (Romans 9:20)
c. Your gift matters (1 Corinthians 12)

Barb Roose is a popular speaker and author who is passionate about teaching women to live beautifully strong and courageous in spite of their fears so that they can experience God’s great adventure of faith and purpose for their lives.
Barb is a real woman who has experienced depression and anxiety, parenting challenges, family addiction trauma and long seasons of walking by faith in unanswered prayer. Rather than teaching audiences to follow God to get what they want, Barb inspires audiences to discover that God is all they need!
Writing creative and challenging Bible studies brings Barb great joy! She’s the author of multiple Bible studies, including: Surrendered: Letting Go and Living Like Jesus, I’m Waiting, God: Finding Blessing in God’s Delays, Joshua: Winning the Worry Battle and her newest study, Breakthrough: Finding Freedom in Christ
She is also the author of multiple books including Surrendered: 40 Days to Help You Let Go and Live Like JesusDevotional, Winning the Worry Battle: Life Lessons from the Book of Joshua and Enough Already: Winning Your Ugly Struggle with Beauty .
Barb lives in NW Ohio and she is the proud mom to three adult children. Barb enjoys traveling, reading, walking and whenever possible, she prefers to eat dessert first.
During today’s conversation you’ll hear Barb share her strategy for combatting worry. Listen for one of my favorite moments when she shares that the difference between worship and worry is who we’re talking to.

We hope you will be encouraged through our real time discussion of what this story meant then and what it can mean to us now as we all have those places in our hearts we hope no one will see…yet God sees…and loves us all the more.

There are a lot of negative things we can say about social media- but one thing that we do like is the way it can connect us to people we may never have met in “real life” who can actually become new friends to us. That is exactly the way Stephani met today’s guest. When she stumbled across Kristin’s profile (through what she believes was divine intervention) and discovered she was a former school psychologist who now wrote Bible studies and co-hosted a podcast, she knew they had to connect.
Kristin holds a Master’s in Biblical studies and is the author of Wrestling to Trust:The Journey of Lament through the book of Habakkuk. She co-hosts the Abiding Free Podcast.
On today’s episode we talk about women in church leadership, identity and freedom in Christ and much more. Plus, Kristin’s favorite story will give you chills as you hear what God did with two strangers during a train ride.

On this week’s episode, we are doing something a little bit different. Our vision for the podcast has always been to help you see your story as one that has the fingerprint of God all over it. the Bible is full of stories of real life people, just like us…who also run from God’s calling, make bad decisions, try to hide from God, fight with one another, feel shame and guilt and all of the things we might wrestle with when we think about how our lives can bring honor to God. And yet, he uses every single story.
We love Scripture and we want to share some of the Bible stories that we’ve found to be helpful as we navigate life between two gardens and let you listen on on real life conversations that we have frequently as we discuss what God is showing us in His word.
Today we will consider the story of Hagar from Genesis chapters 16 and 21. We encourage you to read through that story on your own and hope that our discussion is helpful as you think about your own story.
Takeaways to consider:
1) Where have you come from and where are you going?
2) Has God given you the green light to keep running or He is calling you back to where you came from?
3) God will open your eyes to a way out. Often it is something you've never seen before or has been there all along and you just haven't noticed.
4) Mean girls aren't a new thing - and God sometimes uses mean girls.
5) Often things are not as they seem. God sees what we do not.

On today’s episode, we are excited to welcome Tracey Webb. Tracey recently published her first book, The Blossom Project, which is a 30 day devotional designed to help the reader spend time with the Master Gardner. Tracey has hosted an in home Bible study called the "Fun Not Boring Bible Study" for more than 10 years and she is the proud mom of adult sons Caleb and Joshua.
Growing up a church girl, Tracey never knew how much she would need to lean on her faith in later years as she would find herself on the outside of the church culture looking in through a divorce and learning the best way to love and support her gay son while still remaining true to her faith.
Today’s conversation is so important around the topics of love, empathy, grace and forgiveness and we are incredibly grateful for Tracey’s transparency and vulnerability as we learn from her.
We also ask for grace as we realize we likely didn’t get everything right in this conversation - but we hope that above all we demonstrated the love of Jesus and our errors will be charged more to our ignorance than anything else.
To connect with Tracey you can e-mail her webbt@apsu.edu. You can purchase The Blossom Project on Amazon using this link:

On today’s episode, in anticipation of Thanksgiving, Hannah and Stephani take the opportunity to reflect on 2021 and to share some dreams God has planted on their hearts for the future.
We had such a great time sharing together and we wanted to give you the opportunity to reflect on some of the same questions we asked one another. So we created a fun PDF that so you too can reflect and give thanks for what God has done in your life this year and maybe even use it as a conversation starter around your own Thanksgiving table.

MomLife began in the fall of 2017 with two moms—Melanie Hill and Christy Crosby—and a team of some fun and creative friends. They had a simple and clear vision in mind: to see groups of moms in all ages and stages connect to God and each other through community. Understanding that being a mom can feel isolating and lonely, they wanted to create a safe space for moms to come together and be seen, cared for, loved, and spurred on in their faith in Christ and who he has created them to be.
After four years in its founding church (Grace Community Church in Clarksville, TN), Melanie and Christy saw the need to expand MomLife. They wanted to reach moms outside of their church, community, and beyond. In the spring of 2021, Melanie decided to launch MomLife Ministries, and she hopes it’s a helpful tool for both churches and individual moms who want to gather with groups of friends to talk about life, faith, and how the two deeply interact.
MomLife Ministries is here to provide teachings, training, ideas, resources, and tools that are adaptable to any group of moms—be it in a home setting, coffee shop, or large church gathering. The first steps in building connections often feel awkward and challenging, so we hope to make it a little easier.
MomLife Ministries is fully led by volunteers who are passionate about loving on and serving other mommas.

With nearly a million book sales, Hallee Bridgeman is a best-selling Christian author who writes action-packed romantic suspense focusing on realistic characters who face real-world problems. Her work has been described as everything from refreshing to heart-stopping exciting and edgy.
An Army brat turned Floridian, Hallee and her husband finally settled in central Kentucky so they could enjoy the beautiful changing of the seasons. Hallee’s oldest daughter is a graduate of the University of Kentucky, her middle son struggles as a hexagonal “autism spectrum” peg in this round world, and her youngest son fills the house with wooshes and bangs as he fights imaginary bad guys while wearing a Spiderman costume and wielding a Ninja sword.
When she’s not penning novels, you will find her in the kitchen, which she considers the ‘heart of the home’. Her passion for cooking spurred her to launch a whole food, real food “Parody” cookbook series. In addition to nutritious, Biblically grounded recipes, readers will find that each cookbook also confronts some controversial aspect of secular pop culture.
Hallee has served as the Director of the Kentucky Christian Writers Conference, President of the Faith-Hope-Love chapter of the Romance Writers of America, is a member of the American Christian Fiction Writers (ACFW), and the American Christian Writers (ACW), and Novelists, Inc. (NINC). An accomplished speaker, Hallee has taught and inspired writers around the globe, from Sydney, Australia, to Dallas, Texas, to Portland, Oregon, to Washington, D.C., and all places in between.
Hallee loves coffee, campy action movies, and regular date nights with her husband. Above all else, she loves God with all of her heart, soul, mind, and strength; has been redeemed by the blood of Christ; and relies on the presence of the Holy Spirit to guide her. She prays her work here on earth is a blessing to you and would love to hear from you. You can reach Hallee at hallee@halleebridgeman.com

The Ohio native graduated from the University of Akron with her BA in Psychology and Master of Social Work. After working as a school-based therapist for three years, Dr. Jazz moved to Nashville to attend Tennessee State University to continue her education and pursue her Doctoral Degree in School Psychology.
Dr. Jazz enjoys being involved in her school, church and community. She started a social skills group at her middle school and is also the head volleyball coach. It all began as a friendship.
Kenny King, pastor of Smith Chapel in Sikeston with a black congregation, and William Marshall of Trinity Baptist with a white congregation struck up a friendship after a Fields of Faith event in October of 2017. The two pastors began meeting for lunch and talking about their beliefs and their views on the word of God.
Now, the two churches have merged, bringing together black and white at the newly named Grace Bible Fellowship.
Hear their story on today's episode as we continue to seek to learn how to be better and do better in the fight against racial injustice in our country.

Hannah Conway is an author of Christian fiction, a speaker and a women's ministry director in her local church. Stephani Cook is an educational psychologist, relationship coach and speaker who helps others deepen personal and professional relationships, live purposefully and discover an abundant life. Both feel called to minister to women and to help lead them to living in freedom and authenticity.
On this episode, Stephani and Hannah interview Rachel Lovingood. Rachel is an author and speaker. Her ministry is primarily to women’s groups and to ministry wives. She and her husband have been involved in ministry for the past 31 years. In light of her student experiences, Rachel also speaks to groups of students from middle school to college age. She firmly believes that God’s Word is transforming and the best way to live the abundant life is by following Christ daily.
Whatever the group, she brings the Truth of Scripture unapologetically and uses every day situations to help the listeners make applications to their lives. Rachel is real and relevant and audience members invariably walk away challenged and changed.

On this episode we host Cynthia Pitts who surrendered to God’s call of full-time ministry in 2008, after a life time of loving God and studying His word. Since that call, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theology, and continued to seek out opportunities to fine-tune her knowledge and understanding of God’s word and His call on her life. She was licensed and ordained as a Minister of the Gospel in 2014.
One of the things God has taught Cynthia and her husband Joe is a need to step into places where He can show His love and healing power to those who don’t necessarily know the love of God in their life. Additionally they believe God also desires for Joe to be a voice for those who don’t have a voice in the community as he currently serves as the mayor of the city of Clarksville, Tennessee.
It is their belief that politics, as strange as it sounds and seems, has become their mission field serving the people in the love of Christ where Christ isn’t seen. It is God who stands in judgment of our actions and they know they have been called to love and live a different way.
You can follow Cynthia on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Please continue to pray for her and Joe as they lead our city during the difficult days of the Covid-19 pandemic.
