"Climbing a flight of stairs, by the time you get up you're literally huffing and puffing and gasping for air," Perry said. Last summer, Perry lost health insurance coverage and missed a deadline to enroll in Medicare's Part D drug program. She learned her inhaler would jump from a $50 copay to a staggering $1,000 a month.

SPENCER CRITCHLEY, Democratic Strategist; Communication Advisor, Obama for America '08 and '12; Host, “Dastardly Cleverness in the Service of Good” podcast, willtalka bout: CONGRESS SCRAMBLES TO AGREE ON EMERGENCY BORDER BILL AS WHITE HOUSE, LIBERAL DEMS CLASH

A bill to provide $4.5 billion in emergency funding for the escalating humanitarian crisis at the border was on the rocks Tuesday as the White House threatened to veto over restrictions that would "hamstring" immigration enforcement -- and liberal Democrats complained the bill did not go far enough to rein in the administration's efforts on that front. Both the House and the Senate are scrambling to vote on funding ahead of the July 4 recess, amid reports of poor living conditions in government shelters and even deaths of child migrants as growing migrant flows flood across the border. More than 144,000 migrants were encountered or  apprehended at the border in May, many of them unaccompanied minors or family units, severely complicating efforts to house or deport them. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) says the money to address humanitarian concerns at the border and in detention facilities runs out at the end of the month.

Other states with declining populations were New York (down 48,510), Illinois (45,116), West Virginia (11,216), Louisiana (10,840), Hawaii (3,712), Mississippi (3,133), Alaska (2,348) and Wyoming (1,197), federal officials said. Puerto Rico, a U.S. territory, lost 129,848 people, or 3.9 percent, for the year. Nevada and Idaho were the country's fastest-growing states last year with population increases of about 2.1 percent. Trailing were Utah (up 1.9 percent), Arizona (1.7 percent) and Florida and Washington (1.5 percent).

PROFESSOR, ALLAN SAXE, University of Texas at Arlington Political Science Professor, will talk about: DEMS TAKE HOUSE PUSHING MASSIVE GOVERNMENT EXPANSION, TAXES, FREEBIES AS PARTY LURCHES LEFT : The growing socialist wing of the Democratic Party will flex its muscle with the seating of the new Congress, as more self-described Democratic Socialists join the ranks and dozens of sitting and incoming members – including likely 2020 hopefuls – embrace a massive government expansion that would make FDR look like a penny pincher. The party agenda is increasingly embracing big-government policies like “Medicare-for-all” and guaranteed jobs programs -- as well as an aggressive “Green New Deal” that would include all this and more as part of a fundamental overhaul to America’s economy and specifically its energy sector. It’s unclear when and if any of them will make it to the floor, let alone pass the House.
