Ola Hassan is an international student from Egypt who came to Canada in pursuit of her graduate degree. Whether it was in the café she worked in while living in Canada, or back in her own kitchen in Cairo she constantly saw the ways in which leftover food would go to waist. Because of this she decided to start a new initiative in Windsor known as Kindness Cafe, a not-for-profit business that saves surplus and leftover food for those in less fortunate situations. Her aim wasn’t to create a thriving business model, but to start a conscious movement where people would be aware and limit their own food waste.

Adam Boismier currently works as a consultant and is all about two things: getting out of his comfort zone and helping others. In late 2017, Adam realized that he was not equipped to deal with stress and discomfort and decided to do something about it. The following year was deemed his "Year of Discomfort" and he invited friends, family, and anybody who was interested to participate in activities they found to be uncomfortable or scary. This led Adam to snowboard one of the tallest mountains in the Eastern US, start vlogging on social media, raising $2200+ with 27 other people to complete a mud run, drive a NASCAR at Michigan International Speedway, and even participate in a nude photoshoot! Adam created a brand called Comfort Via Discomfort to share stories of others getting outside their comfort zone in hopes to inspire people around the world to change their relationship with fear. What started as a fun challenge has turned into a lifestyle and, more importantly, a mindset.

Kim Dunwoody started at the gym as an athlete and was quickly taken in by the atmosphere. The intensity, the challenge, the pursuit of excellence. The honesty, patience and grit needed to attain mastery of the sport. CrossFit became her North Star in who she wanted to be.  After half a year or so as a member, she asked if I could start an internship. Five years later, Kim, along side Rick Tomicic, is the new owner of Windsor CrossFit.  The gym changed her life, and she consistently wants to encourage the same kind of change in the athletes around her. She watches people come in on shaky, uncertain legs, and in a handful of weeks they are new masters of themselves.

Dave Feidner is a guy who discovered his purpose in life is to help build great companies, a passion discovered while building a network of international companies and obsessing about how to help entrepreneurs and get leaders to work together. HIs own entrepreneurial leap came from convincing the family owners of a large US business to let him take them global, which led to many years living and working in Europe, Latin America and Canada, launching and building a dozen companies into a global organization with hundreds of millions in revenue and thousands of employees. When a venture firm came along, he joined with them to buy out the family, and later sold to a large PE firm. During the torturous transition out, Dave kept finding entrepreneurs who needed help, and discovered EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System), the cure for business disease! Now he's on a journey to help build 100 great companies over the next 10 years.

Kerri Dunwoody is a language enthusiast who encourages anyone to practice a second language to open them up to new cultures, new ideas and new ways of seeing the world. She has a degree from the University of Windsor in Communications, Media and Film and attempted to obtain a minor in Spanish studies but realized this was not the best avenue to reach fluency. Due to a huge gap in the market, she had to teach herself the language through books, online and with local Spanish speakers. While studying Spanish, she also took an interest in French, Arabic and American Sign Language among others. In 2015 she opened Spectrum Spanish Tutoring  as a way to deal with this gap and help others check off one thing from their bucket list as well as helping foster relationships between the English and Spanish speaking communities.

A gut disorder does not have to be a life sentence. Our talents, passion, love, hopes and desires get buried deep within the chaos of a hectic life when we don't feel our best. This resonates all too well with Neviana as she, too, knows the pain. Getting closer to self-discovery and finding food freedom has been the biggest gift Neviana has given herself, and the important people in her life. Not only has this transformation dramatically improved her health, it has changed the way she perceives life as a mother, wife, daughter and overall human being.  Today she helps women find long lasting freedom through their emotions specifically for gut issues and their relationship to food.

John has over 30 years of experience in operations, loss prevention, health and safety and various leadership roles. While managing an operations shift at a warehouse, one of his staff had a serious forklift accident that fortunately did not result in a serious injury. As a manager responsible for over 30 staff, this was John’s wakeup call about worker health & safety. John has been instrumental in developing health and safety programs not only for this company, he continued to take that experience and passion when he joined an Ontario Health & Safety Association, OSSA, predecessor to Workplace Safety & Prevention Services (WSPS). His role as a consultant and key account manager afforded him the opportunity to work with large national and international employers seeking to building a sustainable health and Safety system. Using his networking skills, John has been effective in connecting employers to resources that helped them achieve this. After working with many talented people at WSPS and his network of customers, John took this experience, knowledge and connections to lead up health and safety for a new retailer coming to Canada, Target. This was an experience of a life time for him allowing him to put into practice his experience with a major employer. John worked with a great team at Target Headquarters in United States and Canada to create and rollout a health and safety system across Canada, in all 10 provinces. John got a bit more than he bargained for when Target decided to cease operations in Canada. John was one of 25 people left at the Canadian headquarters to ensure the smooth operation of closing down the business. This an experience he will never forget or regret. Afterwards, it was only natural for John to take what he calls his “Target MBA” back to his previous employer WSPS. Since returning, John has taken on several leadership roles in field operations and now is Director, Commercial & Strategic Partnerships.

Kyle Gregoire is a mechanical engineer, and has spent the majority of his career involved in automotive polymers and more recently, sustainable initiatives. He graduated from U of Windsor in 1994 and has worked for a number of global companies over the years before purchasing his existing business last year - Granulum Inc. Granulum used to be known as Windsor Rubber Processing but with the change in ownership and his shift in focus to volume production, new processing technologies, and just an overall change in operational planning, he felt a new name was in order.

Today, Kyle has about 15 employees and they are moving towards high-volume tire recycling and crumb production. They supply our products to a number of different manufacturing and construction-focused companies here in Ontario. Once they reach full capacity, they will be able to recycle 2 million passenger car and light truck tires every year. Kyle is also introducing brand-new recycling technology through a partnership with an Italian company to recycle the largest tires in the world. It's an exciting project and he is really excited to bring real innovation to the industry here in North America. COVID has slowed the project down a bit but they are looking forward to having the new equipment here in Windsor in the coming months.

With over 30 years of entrepreneurship experience creating, building, and operating six full service restaurants, a craft brewery and a micro bakery, Chris Ryan brings a wealth of knowledge from the private sector to compliment his time spent in the public sector working in Municipal/Regional tourism and post secondary education. A snapshot of his core strengths and achievements across a variety of industries ranging from: Brand creation/implementation to Team Building.

Chris has created brands to represent the services of companies through strong visual awareness, brand story association and target market connectivity. He has achieved this through the creation of hospitality venues ( Jose’s Noodle Factory, Howl at the Moon Saloon, Patrick O.Ryan’s Irish Pub ), Walkerville Brewery and currently alongside his daughter at Riverside Pie Cafe. Each project was distinctly different, concepts targeted specific demographics, and strong recognizable brands were established within the targeted market. He emphasizes strong focused messaging across a variety of advertising platforms, engagement in community, and superior guest experience.

Chris has also developed the concepts from theme, menu, culture, and customer experience in support of each of his brands. He created entire brand packaging for all restaurants/bakery/brewery as well as consumable packaging on initial product skus for Walkerville Brewery. Behind every successful venture is a strong team. Chris has single handedly cultivated a number of strong teams across a variety of industries. He believes leadership is established through recognition of the strengths and weaknesses of individuals, empowerment, balancing diversity, presenting opportunities for growth, and mutual respect for both the team member and the brand/goal that all are working towards.
