We welcome a myriad of guests from the arts and various walks of life for what we hope will be an engaging, thought provoking conversation. The church’s first members were people who had come out of slavery, with its founding around 1869. Since then, West Harpeth has had five pastors, with the most recent being Sawyers since 1983. After going through chemotherapy and radiation for his cancer diagnosis in 2019, he went looking for songs of joy. Frozen drink rentals were widely available back in Texas, but in Tennessee, Beth found herself in the niche market of margarita machine rentals. Bob Bullock began his career in Los Angeles training under legends such as Humberto Gatica, Reggie Dozier, and Roger Nichols. Over the course of his 40-year career, Bob shifted from engineering to producing and co-producing many artists. Bruce Tarletsky is the founder of High Mountain Breezes, a collection of lifelong music friends and behind-the-scenes heroes as legendary songwriters, producers, and players who tour, create, and write for country music royalty. Originally from the Hudson Valley in New York State, artist Michael Johnathon moved to the border town of Laredo, TX to work at KLAR-AM. At the urging of folk singer Pete Seeger, he then moved to Mousie, Kentucky in the Appalachian mountains to learn folk tradition and music. He began his folk career performing at schools and fairs and touring with established artists including David Gates, Odetta, Janis Ian, Tom Paxton, Billy Dean and Judy Collins. Gomez was originally born in England before moving with his family to Uganda, Africa. Making his way to the US in 1971, Gomez started his commercial photography business in Nashville at the age of 24 and has just moved his photography to Westlight Studios in Franklin, Tennessee. While working as a photographer’s assistant, Michael started to gain clients by shooting for local and out of town modeling agencies. With an election right around the corner, Mayor of Franklin, Ken Moore, sits down with PLA Media President Pam Lewis to reflect on his political career. First elected in 2007 as an alderman at large, Moore began to envision Franklin’s future and its challenges. In both 2009 and 2011, Ken was elected Vice-Mayor by his peers. Eventually, in 2011, he was honored to become the 31st Mayor of Franklin and the only second physician to serve in this capacity.

Pam is joined by doctor of epidemiology, Dr. Megan Warren. In this week’s podcast Megan speaks on her journey around the world and her experience in the field of Epidemiology. Dr. Warren has over 20 years of clinical experience as a physical therapist. Her research expertise includes design and statistical analysis of studies, collaborating with colleagues across campus and the local health care community. She also has two primary areas of research: analysis of administrative data for the positive outcomes of physical therapy and association of clinically relevant, functional tests with non-contact injuries in athletes. Dr. Megan Warren is currently a senior program officer at Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute.
Pam is joined by past president of Sister Cities of Franklin and Williamson County, Patricia Kriebel. In this week’s podcast, Patricia will speak upon her involvement in the Sister Cities of Franklin and Williamson Country as well as her life which she has dedicated to service. Patricia has served on the board for Sister Cities for over fifteen years, and within her time, created a relationship with Germany to enable exchange students to have a foreign language component. She is an avid international traveler as she was an international flight attendant for nine years and her family has hosted eight foreign exchange students. Patricia has been involved in preservation and numerous community outreach efforts. She currently sits on the Franklin Sister Cities Board.
Pam is joined by social psychologist and co-founder of the Unity of Faiths Foundation (TUFF), Dr. Shamender Talwar. In this week’s episode, Pam and Dr. Talwar reflect on their personal experience of the aftermath of The Covenant School catastrophe. When Pam was first told by Mark about the Green Hills active shooting situation, she called Dr. Talwar and picked him up in the Green Hills hotel he was staying in, and the two rushed to the scene to lend humanitarian support. Dr. Talwar offers some words of advice for children and families dealing with this horrendous tragedy. Dr. Talwar is available for counseling, workshops, and interviews. Pam is joined by USA Today bestseller & Pulitzer Prize nominated author and historian, Deb Hunter. Hunter is the host of All Things Tudor, a weekly podcast that brings the power, scandals, romance and ruthlessness of the Tudors back to life through interviews and profiles. Deb’s fascination with the Tudors began at an early age. She pursued her love of history and graduated from Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee, with a Bachelor of Arts in History.
Pam is joined by Nashville native, now Franklin resident, Walter Green. Green had graduated from Vanderbilt University and worked in structural engineering, creating the foundation for his love of Franklin and its railroads. This year, Green released his first book, The Nashville and Decatur in the Civil War – History of an Embattled Railroad, detailing the importance of Tennessee railroads during the Civil War.
Pam is joined by Tennessee State Museum Curator and Downtown Presbyterian Church historian, Jim Hoobler. Jim has just released a new book This Used to Be Nashville about what some of Nashville’s old buildings were repurposed into.
Pam is joined by Musicians Hall of Fame Museum founder, Joe Chambers. Joe was a songwriter and producer for CBS records, and he opened a series of retail stores, Chambers Guitars, after moving from Georgia to Middle Tennessee to pursue his music career. Chambers got the idea for the Musicians Hall of Fame in the early 2000's, wanting to recognize session musicians of hit recordings. Since its opening in 2004, the Musicians Hall of Fame has had 6 ceremony's of inductees.
Pam is joined by Billboard Country Update editor Tom Roland. Tom has been a figurehead in the music industry and has written for major publications in the music scene since his early days of college and a was a longtime writer for The Tennessean. He also operates RolandNote.com, a database that catalogs over 60,000 events from country music history. In 2018, Tom was awarded the CMA Media Achievement Award at the 52nd annual CMA Awards. The award is for recognition of outstanding achievements in the media as they relate to country music.
Pam is joined by long time friend Alma McLemore of the African American Historical Society of Williamson County. The AAHS of Williamson County was established in 1997 to share the African American experience with the history, growth, and development of Williamson County. The African-American Heritage Society is a non-profit organization whose mission is to collect, preserve, and interpret artifacts pertaining to Williamson County African American culture and increase understanding and appreciation of our heritage for future generations.The AAHS also operates the education, restorative and preservation efforts for both the McLemore House and the Merrill-Williams Home.

The initiative that kicked off in May is providing an opportunity for singer/songwriters to submit their music with the top 10 finalists being flown to Nashville to perform at the legendary Exit/In. Along the way, any musician that is struggling with mental health issues is connected with 100% free resources with a mental health professional in their area. Over 600 contestants have been provided the resources they need since the kick-off.
