Ideal Self, Ideal Client [1:32] Taco talk and the importance of self-development

[3:40] Why you are who you surround yourself with

[5:50] The value of identifying your future-self

[12:00] How your ideal client is a higher version of yourself

[17:50] How to identify your dream clientThis week, Shane and Melissa chat over their taco board dinner about the connection between your ideal self and your ideal client. Self-development is key in not only finding yourself but also in finding your dream clientele. They also cover exactly how to identify your dream client, and action steps you can take to start with bettering your future self, first.

Self-development not only requires consistency but also involves surrounding yourself with others who align with your goals. If you envision your future self, what do you see? Do your clients align with this vision? Mimic what you want your future self to be in the clientele that you are pursuing. You are what you surround yourself with, so surround yourself with what you hope your future to be. And always remember when you start out doing things, it doesn’t have to be pretty! Sometimes you have to just start and work through the “ugly” to get to where you want to be. Never get too caught up in the end goal to forget to even start.

A money date is a monthly meeting with whomever you share finances with (even yourself!) to look at where you are at in the areas discussed.

The goal is to make this fun! Go to your favorite restaurant or coffee shop, our biggest piece of advice is to approach these without emotions but with the data.

Areas to evaluate:

  • Loans balances
  • credit cards
  • bank accounts
  • cash
  • investments
  • Income
    • savings, giving and investing from the prior month

Overall net worth (assets-liabilities = net worth)

Having unmet expectations leads to bitterness and frustrationNot only of others but of yourself ESPECIALLY
Ask each other 3 questions to determine expectations:1. What do I expect of me?
2. What do I think YOU expect of me?
3. What do I expect from you?

Excercise:- Write down answers separately
- Come together and review the answers, are they similar?
- If you need additional help (aka you disagree) find an uninterested 3rd party to be a part of the conversation

How having a sense of urgency leads to taking action in your life.
Ask yourself 3 questions to determine how to find urgency in your life:1. What am I wanting to accomplish and in what time frame?
2. Why does it matter to me to accomplish that goal within that time frame?
3. At this moment, how much time do I have to achieve it?

Excercise:- Write down current age expectancy for male or female (depending on which it is)
- Take current age and determine how many years you have left (life expectancy
- current age = years left)
- How many days do you have to remain? (Years remaining x 365 days)
