Everyone asks me "How do you get such great focus from your dogs?" And the answer is simple. I am LIFE to my dog.

INTRO
How do you train focus?
What is focus? We must remember that focus is unnatural and dogs don't do it straight out the womb.
What do you want your focus to look like ? Do you want to mimic bitework obedience or do you want to mimic the more friendly obedience of the AKC world? You must choose what is important to you!
How you get focus is how you keep focus, you must rehash the basics again and again.
We must be source of all rewards... and allowing people to pet our dogs does the exact opposite.
When I go outside with my dogs, they are asking ME to do something for them, not the other way around.
Bottom line, stop "training" your dog and go play with your dog.
