SOM Talk Live is an Entertainment and Talk podcast hosted by Rueben Wood and syndicated on several stations. The podcast/show is the audio form of SOM Talk Live’s Video produced show, a digital television production show based in Atlanta, Ga.Rueben host the 5 at 5 weekly in a format of talk, music, a countdown, and some fun conversations with interviewees. Wood started the show to expand the growing SOM platform with the increasing rise and importance of social media and its connection to billions of people.
Keon Josh Simmons better known as JoshSimmons has the heart of a soldier and the voice of an icon in-the-making.Raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, music has been Simmons’ backbone since he can remember. After being judged by the late rap legend Nipsey Hussle, Simmons was handpicked and won 50 free studio hours at any studio of his choice.Simmons and his collective CDS are just getting started. After making a name for himself in the underground Baton Rouge music scene and using social media to build a following, he’s ready to show the world what he’s been working on. In 2020, he plans to release his debut project, “[Demo]” which will feature original new music about growing up in Baton Rouge, not becoming a product of his environment, being an outcast and having fun doing what he loves: making music.
Dalilah, more known as LaLa, is originally from Columbia, S.C. Served in the U.S. Army and retired after serving our country for seven years as an E5/ sergeant. Hailing from Castel Hill in the Bronx, Jay Griffy saw a lot of movement with his family as they struggled to live the American dream finally settling in New Jersey when Jay Griffy was a teenager. In a rare perfect moment, Jay Griffy got on stage with the Sound Barrier experience and it was of no surprise that Barrier asked Jay Griffy to stay as part of the band. The recent release of his debut album "Gawd Like" has gained over 500k streams.

Rueben Wood interviews Pharaoh Reigns in new epidsode of SOM Talk Live. Atlanta’s rising Pop and EDM star, Pharaoh has quickly become the artist to watch in 2016. Pharaoh’s music bares familiarity to a few billboard classic hits. His music is a unique blend and mixture, reminiscent of Nelly, Chris Brown and T-Pain. Pharaoh’s unique organic sound is comprised of EDM and Electro Urban Pop.

The 2016 A3C Conference saw two music legends dropping jewels on not just their own careers, but also the business of music. Hundreds gathered as Master P spoke with music critics Maurice Garland and Branden Peters during the special A3C Conversation aptly titled, "There Is No Limit."
On a perfect fall day in Atlanta, the 2016 A3C Festival brought the best in old-school and new school talent together for one of the most highly anticipated stages at this year's festival.
"1996 Presented by Mass Appeal" featured a performances by Redman, Bun B, Too $hort and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, who all released groundbreaking albums in 1996. Between performances, DJ Kid Capri, Diamond D and more took turns entertaining the crowd alongside host Dres Tha Beatnik.
The ATLiens Tribute, lead by Outkast's own Mr. DJ featured Nappy Roots, Ras Kass and buzzworthy newcomers including Deante Hitchcock, Scotty ATL, Nick Grant, Forte Bowie, Kelechi, Nick Grant, Goldyard and more performing the classic Outkast album in its entirety.

Hip Hop is no stranger to Canada’s groundbreaking and premier production competition known as “Battle of the Beat Makers,” which has birthed some of today’s hottest producers in the industry. What some people may not know is the man and innovator behind this legendary come up, Clifton Reddick, known as “KLFTN” in the industry.
Now, the originator of the iconic movement has announced today the release of ‘Toronto Sound,’ a memoir devoted to the city’s rising producers.
"Drake's primary producer, Noah "40" Shebib, was quoted as saying that the Toronto Sound began with Boi-1da, and Boi-1da was discovered at Battle of the Beat Makers (BBM), so essentially without BBM there would be no Toronto Sound. We are the foundation of everything major that has come out of Toronto since 2005. This memoir will paint the picture of exactly how it all went down,” says book author KLFTN.
As a cultural ambassador of Canadian Hip-Hop, KLFTN details the role that his famous Battle of the Beat Makers competition played in assisting in the development of careers of familiar artists like Drake,
Boi-1da and T-Minus, while exposing us to a litany of other rappers and producers who have helped to establish Toronto's Hip-Hop scene over the
course of three decades.
Empire I (true name Miriam Moufide, also stage-named The Gangstress) is a singer, songwriter and social activist based in Kingston, Jamaica. Her musical style has been described as a blend of dancehall, reggae, hip hop, pop and World music. She is signed to Monumental Records and distributed by Universal Music Group.
Moufide, having taken the stage name Empire I, began making music while traveling in Jamaica, working with the legendary Jamaican musicians Dean Fraser and Chinna Smith, as well as Miami-based producers The Iconz. She recorded her debut album “Empress Gangstress” in part at Bob Marley's legendary Tuff Gong Studios in Kingston. It featured reggae singers Bushman and Half Pint. Empire I has played in over 20 different countries, including Brazil, Panama, Colombia, Venezuela, Senegal and Canada and the American festivals SXSW and CMJ.
On her more recent albums, Empire I has worked and recorded with world-renowned producers like Prayon and Kovas. As well as songwriting for Empire ISIS, she also writes under the name Miriam Moufide for other musicians and is published by Cherry Lane Music and pigFACTORY Music.
In June 2011, Empire I was voted into the "Wall of Fame" at the Montreal Hip Hop Summit and is now featured in the Montreal deck of "Legend Of The Fame" hip hop trading cards.
In 2012, Empire I relocated to Jamaica where she has been touring and recording, collaborating with a variety of producers including Truckback, J.Hennessy, Sam Diggy, Frassman Brilli and Rebel Camp Entertainment.
In 2016 Moufide changed her stage name to Empire I following issues with public confusion with the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant frequently referred to in the media as "ISIS".

Rampage is back with the release of his highly anticipated, Mixtape "Remington Steele, The Payback" set for release 11/05/2016 and the soundtrack to his upcoming Cartoon Series. Rampage has also launched a new station and music group titled The Heat. Earlier in the year he released the hot new club banger, "Pound Cake" with production by multi-platinum super producer, Felony Muzik.

Now, Luke is opening the doors to ‘Boom Boom Room,’ his newest EP that dropped today.
According to Luke, the project is meant to provide hope. In fact, that’s precisely what inspired the effort’s Boom Boom Room title.
“One of my favorite movies is Life starring Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence,” says Luke. “Eddie had this idea of this club called the Boom Boom Room and it was just his thing that kept him going. It was a dream. What really got inspiring was him telling people about it gave them hope. That’s what I hope my music and movement does,” said Luke.
Baltimore met The Notorious B.I.G. in the summer of 1995, and they became involved in a romantic relationship. B.I.G. introduced her to Lance "Un" Rivera, who signed her and Cam'ron to his new label, Untertainment. She made her first appearance in the music industry in 1995 with Junior M.A.F.I.A.'s "Get Money" playing The Notorious B.I.G's then wife Faith Evans. Her first video was in 1998 with the hit "Money" featured on the Woo movie soundtrack.
With collaborators such as Cam'ron and N.O.R.E., Baltimore recorded her debut album Cold as Ice which featured tracks like "Money", "Pimp Da 1 U Love", "N.B.C." and "Stand Up".
After being delayed several times due to friction between Baltimore and the label, Cold as Ice was eventually released promotionally in 1999 (it was not actually made available to the general public until 2009, for digital download). After a five-year hiatus, she was signed to Murder Inc. Records (later renamed The Inc. Records) by CEO Irv Gotti. After constant album delays, she left the label. In 2006 she became affiliated with The Game and The Black Wall Street Records She was never signed to the label but appeared on mixtapes with the rest of the Black Wall Street dissing 50 Cent and his G-Unit.
Baltimore has made appearances in songs such as "Down 4 U", "We Still Don't Give A F**k", and "No One Does It Better" from Irv Gotti Presents The Inc, Ja Rule tracks "Down Ass Bitch" and "The Last Temptation", the Christina Milian track "Spending Time" and Ashanti's "Rain On Me" (remix). In 2003, she earned a Grammy Award nomination for Best Female Rap Solo Performance, for her single "Diary".

Born in Paramount, California, Curtis Young and his mother moved to the city of Compton when he was an adolescent attending elementary school. Tiffany Foxx (born November 27, 1985) is an American recording artist. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Foxx first garnered recognition in 2005 after appearing on Snoop Dogg's compilation album Welcome to tha Chuuch: Da Album. In 2010, she formed a hip hop group June 5th. They released the mixtape HERstory before Foxx decided to pursue her solo career.
In 2012, rapper Lil' Kim signed Foxx to her record label International Rock Star Records. Since then she has released three mixtapes, Yellow Tape, Goal Diggers and King Foxx. She also stars in the VH1 reality show Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta.
June 5 was a female rap group from St. Louis, Missouri formed in 2009 signed under Mizay Entertainment that included (in addition to Foxx) such as Scar Ladon, and Brooke Holladay. The group came about when all three girls met on June 5, 2009.
Tiffany stated “When we first came together we met because we were all in the business, So we joined forces on June 5th and became the group June 5th.” On March 24, 2010, June 5 released their first mixtape called, HERstory.
In 2012, rapper Lil' Kim signed Tiffany Foxx to her label, International Rock Star Records. Together, the two have released two songs, "Twisted" and "Jay-Z," both of which have accompanying music videos. In the music video for "Twisted", Miley Cyrus supported her friends Lil'Kim and Foxx by appearing in the music video.
On October 15, 2013 Tiffany Foxx appeared on the BET Hip Hop Awards BET cypher. On Christmas Day, Foxx revealed artwork for her upcoming mixtape titled "King Foxx" which is set to be released on Valentine's Day. Tiffany Fox will join the cast of VH1's Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta, which premieres on April 20, 2015.

Born in New Jersey and raised in Waldorf, Maryland, Milian – who is of Cuban descent – knew show business was for her immediately. As a child growing up in Benton Harbor, Michigan, Ernie Hudson wrote short stories, poems and songs, always thinking that his words might one day come to life on stage.
