Do software developers have stereotypes? Yes. Everyone has stereotypes. It is how we humans categorize things. We can’t PREVENT stereotypes, so use them to your advantage. We ALL stereotype, but can you let go of it when you see who people really are. John’s Tip: Be “smart” about your appearance for a job interview. You don’t want to be stereotyped negatively. Find the commonality and then break the stereotype. You can reinvent yourself whenever you want. Stop thinking you HAVE to be a certain way.

Popular excuses for avoiding working out and eating healthy: 1. I don’t have time. What is your time need? Where are you spending or wasting your time? Make working out something you want to do. There is a payoff. 2. I don’t like it. Do you have to like it to do it? Your excuses today will determine your future self. Analyze why you do something instead of making excuses. More excuses… I can’t afford to buy healthy food. - Actually frozen fruits and vegetables are cheaper. I don’t have to time to cook at home. - There are quick recipes out there, or just eat raw food. I don’t want to get to big, that’s why I’m not lifting. - Its not going to happen. You have to really try to get big. Tip Of The Week: Realize its an excuse, take responsibility and acknowledge it. Book: How to Win Friends and Infuse People, By Dale Carnegie We want to hear from you. Email us your excuses and/or success stories.
How can you determine if something is a scientific research study or an article?
Look for the following: -Who funded the study? -Validity: external, internal and construct -The study should be on at least 50 people -What is the P value? -Did all participants finish the study? -How are they getting people to sign up? -How is data reported? -Does it have a blind study or at least a control group? -University or Government studies are usually valid
Go to Google Scholar or your university library for full research studies. Use your common sense and test it. You have to do your own research.
Tip Of The Week: Do some research on what research is. Learn a little bit about what makes a good research study.
