I walked through this village this past week and all I could do was cry. I looked at the progress being made in this village just beyond the garbage dump where children have been, for the most part, forgotten. But...not by God, and not by Cups partners. Now in this village stands a nice blue building that houses our Sewing Program and a new Bakery Program. Kids were outside playing and some were gathered in the Sewing Center as we showed up that morning; they were anticipating our arrival.As I walked through this community twisting between shanties and little lean-to's, I was overwhelmed with the goodness of God. Seeing children running, smiling, and playing, I could only thank God that each day in this village children are reminded that they are loved by God, that they are not hopeless, and God has a plan for their lives.These messages of hope and truth go out everyday because of our Cups Partners. Every day in every village, children who are in the programs have access to sewing, baking, basketball, discipleship, music classes, and so much more. What's amazing to me is that when you look at what it costs us to reach these children and provide this daily ministry, it's only 75 cents a day! I can't even buy a soda from the drink machine for that.As we continue to serve in each of our villages reaching over 1200 families with hope and truth each day, I am grateful for so many of you who stand with us each month to reach these children. That 75 cents a day, that $23 a month makes a huge eternal, significant impact on the lives of children. We have more and more children that we want to get in to the programs. Greetings Friends of Crossover Cups Mission! I am so proud to be a part of this mission with you. It has always been a team effort, and you have been great team players. When other missionaries come to view the work they are overwhelmed with the quality of the programming and what your team has accomplished in these ten short years. I remember the first days in the first village. We packed into that little 10' X 20' room with fifty kids and did our best to share Jesus with them. The heat was so intense we thought we were dying, but God was bringing life to a community. Over the years so many of you have come and sweated with our team in multiple villages. You know the summer heat too. Best of all you have not forgotten us when you returned home. Thank you for that. Together we move forward into the next season with hope and joy. We still look at big projects like the new sewing business project with fear, but we hold onto faith. We know how this will help rescue and provide employment for so many girls currently in our program. Thank you for your prayers and support. Now for many of you, this paragraph can be your jumping-off point. But if you have a spare minute, let me speak to you about legacy. Walt Disney is known for his generosity and love for children. He was also known in the industry as a film cutter. It did not make any difference how many hundreds of hours his animators put in on a scene, if it did not move the picture forward properly, he cut it. Snip-snip, no regrets! Once his animators worked for 240 days on a 4 1/2 minute Snow White scene... 240 days... and he cut it because it was not needed in the story. Ouch. Disney understood the message he wanted to share and made decisions based on the desired outcome. Often I need to cut things from my life that do not lead me to my desired end. I want my life to be focused on missions of purpose. To do this I have to make choices about how I spend my time and my resources. As a Christian, everything I have comes from the Lord. I am simply a caretaker that is entrusted to grow in value for Him. How about you? We all are investors. We invest our time in mindless television or educational television, mindless literature or literature that builds us up and makes us better people. In the financial world, some of us go for high-risk investments, others for safer low-yield investments. Some of us require a guaranteed rate of return. You all know that I am not big on asking for money. But as I get older I am thinking more about my goals in life. I am thinking more about my legacy. Not only my legacy before man but my legacy before God. Can I encourage you to make the mission you know and love a part of your will and estate planning? Can I encourage you to look into a charitable gift annuity that will pay you great dividends and help rescue little girls for the kingdom? The feeding program in La Union is now underway, with over 70 children being fed every Tuesday and Thursday in the name of Jesus! Samuel and Ysemene have officially opened up the new building in La Union for the Sewing for Souls program and the Bread of Life Bakery program. This bakery serves as a dual-purpose area, not only for teaching baking skills to the children of La Union, but also as a kitchen area to give the children and families of the village food and clean water! Many of you have followed along on the mission's journey for years, so you know that Crossover CUPS has visited the community dump at least 5 days per week to feed those who work there. Since those workers primarily live in La Union, we are transitioning that feeding program to this new building to provide a cleaner, safer environment to feed the people. Eventually, the students who are trained in the baking program will be equipped to make the food for their own community! | February 2022 Training Center Graduation in Zion
We are celebrating today, as seven children have just completed the requirements and graduated from the Bread of Life Training Center in Zion! In this training program, they are taught how to bake things such as bread, pizza, cupcakes, and more! They are not only taught how to physically bake, but also trained in how to use the skill as a means to provide a safe and sustainable income for themselves and their families. They are taught how to run a micro-business. When the students graduate from the training program, they are allowed to rent the bakery, buy the ingredients they use, pay for power usage, and then they calculate how to make a profit off of their baked goods! Most importantly, these children are not just taught practical life skills. All of the CUPS training programs are paired with discipleship classes. These children are spiritually fed by the gospel of Jesus Christ as they are learning how to glorify God with their profession, in their personal life, and in their communities! Please join us in praying for these students as they take what they have learned and put it to use - both in their life skill and in their walk with the Lord. You can help us make this a reality for many other children! Just $23 per month can give another student the opportunity to go through this same program, learn to bake treats and food for his community, and provide for himself and his family financially. Along with the sponsorship for the vocational training, you will provide access to discipleship programs, personal spiritual counseling, and help spread the gospel among communities in the Dominican Republic!

| January 2022 A Year in Review...
Wow, what a year God has blessed us with! Can you believe that it's already 2022? I know we are having a hard time believing it! 2021 was an amazing year for the Crossover Cups Mission. We had a total of 1,085 kids in Bible school! What a number! In addition to the number of kids in Bible school getting the opportunity to hear about Christ, over 1,000 people heard the Gospel! We also had a humbling number of 75 Dominican teenagers that decided to follow the call God put on their lives and help lead the summer Bible school program across 6 villages! Mission trips during the summer are some of our most fun and engaging times as a team! Together, we learn more about the Gospel, how to dive into a deeper relationship with Christ, and how to be a team player all while showing the love of Christ to our friends in the neighboring communities in the Dominican! This past year, 149 people decided to say 'YES' and come on a mission trip! This year, we are hoping to have even more people decide to come with us and make the decision to have Christ impact their lives in this awesome way.

The Unexpected
When I think of Christmas, I think of the unexpected. Who would have expected that the King of the World would be born in a dirty manger in a small town with no pomp and circumstance, just he, his parents, and a few animals? But, God delivered the Redeemer to us in an unexpected way. When I think of how my life changed eleven years ago when I reconnected with my good friend, Mike Williams, I did not expect what would happen. Something great, a renewed friendship with a champion for children, and the merging of two hearts with a passion of ministry and people. The result? More families who are being impacted with the hope of Jesus and lives being transformed. When we, as The Crossover Cups Team, see the magnitude of what God has called us to do, we are sometimes overwhelmed. Until we are reminded that God again moves in unexpected ways. Every week, people like you are praying and giving gifts, many times they are unexpected. God often works in the unexpected. The last 18 months have been a challenge for all of us. And yet during this unexpected time, God is still working. As the Christmas season approaches, the prayer of our team for you is that God would do something unexpected in your heart this holiday season. I hope you are looking for it. What's New in Our Dump Ministry?
How God continues to move in the Dominican Republic! With the growth of ministry in La Union Abajo and the addition of the bakery and sewing center, more impact is happening on a weekly basis in the lives of families in this Cups Village. Since La Union sits just below the dump in Sosua, most of the people that you may have seen rummaging through the garbage over the years have come from that village.
Because of the ministry of the new bakery in La Union, more of the feeding will be happening right there in the village instead of in the garbage dump. That's good news! Our garbage dump feeding ministry continues two days a week, but the more strategic feeding and ministry is happening in the village where the people live under the direction of Samuel and Ysemene, our Cups Missionary family who leads the ministry in that area. Thank you for your continued support that makes an impact here!

Our School Partners Rock!! This month, we wanted to take the time to highlight one of our school partners, Southern Wesleyan University. This partnership has been fruitful in many ways already, one of them being the opportunity the school gave us to showcase the items in their campus store that the girls in the sewing program make! Now, university students can purchase bags, headbands, and jewelry and know that their proceeds are going to support the girls who made them!
In addition to the products in the campus store, another way that this partnership has been fruitful has been through the participation in trips this past summer! Brad Bowen, Director of Campus Safety at Southern Wesleyan, joined us on a trip this past summer! See what he has to say about his trip: "I didn't know what to expect going on the mission trip...it was interesting to me to see the contrast between the tourist areas and then just steps away were poverty. The most memorable thing for me was hiking to the top of the mountain to the village up there...I'm reminded of the passage in the Bible where God takes care of the sparrows. The hardships that some of these people have to endure, the ones that are digging for food in the garbage dumps, but the Lord sees them and the Lord provides for them, the Lord makes a way for them." -Brad Bowen

Church VBS was a Success! This summer, we had the amazing privilege of being able to partner with 9 churches across the states for their summer VBS! Through these church's VBS and their wonderful kids that attended, they helped us raise over $6,500! These generous gifts go directly towards the funding for the mission and help the families and children in need in the DR! Generally at a church VBS, a simple penny drive or VBS offering helps support a child or a missions organization. When your church partners with CUPS, the kids at VBS are raising money to enroll “at-risk” children into our Bible Camps and other vocational programs. When you become a VBS partner, we provide you with coloring pages, puzzles and our “Mission Moment” videos to introduce your children to missions. Each video highlights the 5 different outreaches of our mission: Disciple, Provide, Educate, Serve, Empower. Our partnership is not to replace your church's VBS curriculum, but to enhance it by encouraging and challenging your children to live out missions daily in their own community. One of the churches that partnered with us actually set up their VBS to look like the dumps similar to the DR! This was a great way to engage children and teach them valuable lessons about ministering to the least of these! Our summer has come to an end in the DR! Here's a quick recap from our summer interns... Our summer in the Dominican Republic has come to an end. God has worked in and through the work of our missionaries, donations of our partners and the support of you all. Throughout the summer, we were privileged to share the gospel and the love of Jesus through bible camp, house visitations, prayer walks, feeding our friends at the garbage dump, play time with kids, and family movie nights. Over 1,085 kids participated in Bible Camp, worshipping the LORD through singing and dancing and learning about the transformation that GOD has to offer. Throughout the summer, several children accepted Jesus for the very first time during Bible Camps. We use house visitations as an opportunity to not only get to know people and pray for them, we are also able to plant seeds of the Gospel. Throughout our summer, several people gave their lives to Christ for the very first time during these house visitations. During our free time, we get to spend time playing with kids in the village and host movie nights for the families. These times are always so much fun and give us an opportunity to build relationships and spend quality time with everyone in the villages. It was such a blessing to be able to resume trips for our teams this summer and we had 116 people join us! One of my favorite parts of the summer is being a part of Bible Camps. It’s a time to dance and sing without any care of how you look or sound, to have childlike joy pouring out of each and every person. Outside of Bible Camp, I loved being able to simply spend time with these kids and student leaders, to love others and build relationships. - Lauren King, summer intern Overall, we had an excellent summer and God moved in some big ways. Next summer, consider joining us on a trip to see firsthand what He is doing in the Dominican Republic! Back to School & Sewing Machines! School is just around the corner for us here in the States, and our friends in the Dominican Republic! With school season coming up, there are a couple of needs for the kids to ensure they can attend classes and receive education to help shape their future! We are in need of 200 backpacks for these precious kids! In addition to the backpacks, our sewing program, 'Sewing for Souls' needs 20 sewing machines for the girls to use and learn this beneficial skill on! Partners like you help keep our programs running and the kids receiving education. Exciting things are happening in the Dominican Republic with our new Men of Honor program! In the Dominican Republic, as in many countries, there is a mentality that men are solely meant to make money. The men in these villages are raised in this mindset and oftentimes their families can suffer. Brokenness exists everywhere in our world and Men of Honor exists to to show these men that they are more than just tools for work, they are leaders in their communities, husbands to their wives, fathers to the children, and, most importantly, servants of God. As Daniel, our on-the-ground Director reports, this past December, Men of Honor was able to have its first bi-annual day-long conference to start the conversations to discuss the topic of what it means to be men. Over 80 men participated in this event and since then, more and more men just keep asking "What's next?" "When will we be meeting again?" Coming soon, we will host our second Men of Honor Conference to bring more of these discourses to light. The men coming out of Men of Honor are taking big steps towards a different future and a different culture for their children. We are not satisfied to continue in the way the system says men ought to be and neither are these men, they are seeking after the way Scripture defines how men ought to be. It is not just twice yearly events with Men of Honor either. There is continual discipleship of these men through communication face to face and over messaging systems where there are daily reminders, lessons, and Scriptures bringing up Truth again and again about the proper way to live and treat your families and those around you. The missionaries in the Dominican Republic are coming alongside these men to train up a new mentality - a mentality where men protect their families, a mentality where they cherish their wives as Christ cherishes His church, and a mentality where God comes first in their households. Together, we are fighting for transformation in the lives of these men so that they too can turn and do the same in the lives of the other men they come into contact with. 2 Timothy 2:2 "And what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also." The 5 core values of Crossover Cups Mission are: Disciple Provide Serve Educate Empower Many times, when we discuss our mission, we focus on the physical needs of the Dominican people. We work hard to feed them, teach them a life skill, and help them discover a way out of poverty and exploitation. However, we can't forget the most important aspect of our mission. It's the very reason Mike Williams founded this mission: to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Events like what happened recently in Alto de la Jagua reminds us of the true meaning of what we do daily. Alto de la Jagua is the name of the new village we are serving on the top of a mountain. It is located about an hour and a half from our other villages near Zion. A 3-mile hike on foot used to be the only way to reach this village. There was no road, and no vehicles could travel up the large mountain, so the villagers used donkeys to transport materials up the long trail. Crossover Cups Mission came alongside this village and built a road so that these villagers could have easier access to food, medical supplies, and, in turn, the Gospel. Jose Luis and Dani, a CUPS missionary couple, trained with Daniel for several months to learn the ropes and become the new missionaries in Alto de la Jagua. In December, seven (SEVEN!) residents of Alto de la Jagua accepted Jesus as the Lord of their life and committed to sharing the Gospel with their community. Daniel and Jose Luis shared with this family about the love of Jesus Christ and how God works and does great things through the Holy Spirit. According to Daniel, you could feel the atmosphere of repentance in the air. These people repented of their sins that day: Pedro (he said, "I don't want to walk in darkness anymore") Crismely Maria Ruby Oscar (he said, "I don't want to have to say that I am a Christian. I want other people to say that I am a Christian") Augustín The following week, Daniel and Jose Luis talked with them about remaining in the love of Christ for the rest of their life. This is the result of planting the seed of Jesus Christ as a foundation in homes and staying consistent in sharing the love of Christ. Soon, a community center and basketball court will be built on the mountain to facilitate this discipleship. Lord willing, in the future, there will be a sewing center and bakery. These actions, in just a few short months, are already bearing fruit. Dear Mission Family, As you may know, about a year ago, we discovered a rural mountain village that was highlyimpoverished. We asked a few of our missionaries to begin discipleship programs there. Thevillage is on a mountain and the miles-long journey up is treacherous, at best. Because of itsdifficult incline, it’s not very accessible by vehicle, so we bought a few donkeys to get suppliesto the top. A few months ago, we got word from our on-the-ground missionaries in the DominicanRepublic that they decided to pave the road up to the top. Not only would this make our accesseasier, but it would be an incredible gift to the people who live there. So, with the help ofgenerous donors, we began the process. As our mission has celebrated this good news, we’vecontemplated the concept of roads, but not physical ones. This past year has been a rocky one. Many of us may feel isolated on a mountain, like the one inthe Dominican, as access to normal life has become uncertain and even dangerous. We’ve doneour best to keep climbing, but we are eager to reach the other side. We have seen God’sfaithfulness in small ways as we’ve walked, but we are tired and ready to see His faithfulness infull. If we’re honest, our doubts echo those of Psalm 77: “Has his steadfast love foreverceased? Are his promises at an end for all time? Has God forgotten to be gracious? Has he inanger shut up his compassion?” While suffering is common to us in the first-world, the concept of uncertainty might be new.However, because many Dominicans and Haitians are day-laborers (they depend on a day’swork for that night’s dinner) uncertainty is a part of normal life, especially during a pandemic.Even in the face of uncertainty though, we are still praising God for His faithfulness. In the pastyear, He multiplied the resources you gave us to provide tens of thousands of meals for ourDominican and Haitian brothers and sisters. He shielded our missionaries in the face of violenceand sustained them with good health. Over the years, we’ve learned life-changing lessons in theDominican, but this year’s might be the most important yet: nothing is uncertain to the Godwho knows our needs. We look again to the words of the Psalmist, as he continues on after raising his doubts to theLord: “I will appeal to this, to the years of the right hand of the Most High. I will rememberthe deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your wonders of old. Your way, O God, isholy…Your way was through the sea, your path through the great waters; yet your footprintswere unseen. You led your people like a flock.” This Christmas season and as we head into the new year, we are reminding ourselves toremember how God has been faithful. Though we walk through the sea of uncertainty and arenot always able to see the footprints of God, we’re certain He’s leading us because He hasbefore. He led the shepherds and wise men to find Him, the disciples to follow Him, and He’s been leading us to know Him since. Our good and faithful Shepherd came to earth to give upHis life for us; so, we pray you’re finding Him, following Him, and knowing Him more with eachpassing day. Thank you for helping us pave roads and feed tens of thousands of people this pastyear. Because of you, people in the Dominican Republic are finding Him, following Him, andknowing Him, too. “Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the GreatShepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, equip you with everything goodthat you may do his will, working in us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ,to whom be glory forever and ever.” (Hebrews 13:20-21) Merry Christmas, Jack Eason, Mike Williams, Missionaries, and Staff

Happy Thanksgiving from your friends and missionaries at Crossover Cups Mission in the Dominican Republic. I know that we all have a busy schedule. I appreciate you taking the time to read our updates of what your partnership is accomplishing. I personally have many things to be thankful for this year. Though I have been out of my secular work since March, a few events have come through in the last weeks and my family's needs have been met. I am so very grateful for that. Growing up in a low-income family, I can remember collecting returnable bottles along the roadside. I would return them for a ten-cent deposit to buy cans of Beef-A-Roni for my family to eat for supper. Unless you have been there, it might be hard to imagine being at that point in your life. My memories make me a grateful person. I suppose that is why Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. I am thankful for where I have come from. Perhaps that is part of what drives my desire to serve the poor people of the Dominican Republic. Each year, the mission has a visiting Thanksgiving team, who brings in food for the people and families who live and work in the garbage dump. This year, due to the Coronavirus pandemic, we cannot. The mission is missing the hundreds of jars of peanut butter and tuna that come in every summer from our mission teams. Our food supply closet is dwindling. Since mid-March, we have served only beans and rice, since they are cheap, but those beans and rice have blessed a lot of children and their parents. Those people are very thankful. The feeding program for the 600+ houses in our communities has seen great fruits during the quarantines thanks to your generous donations. Parents who never had time to talk about Christianity or God are now willing to have a chat with Daniel, as they have seen the love of God in action. It has been your continued faithful partnership that has brought this about. Without you, we would have had to say goodbye. Other missions have. On a positive note, through the ministry of the local Dominican leadership students serving the summer Bible Camps, Daniel has felt the need to start a new church for these young people. Amid the most challenging times of our life, God is using it to bring others to Him. Thank you for the prayers and the partnership. I close by asking you to keep up the prayers and support. We must keep focused and stay the course. We must allow people to understand the faithfulness of God, as demonstrated through His people… you. I know that hundreds of feeding ministries in the United States hand out turkeys and boxes of food to anyone blessed with a car to pick it up. | October 2020Recently, I was talking with our Director on the Ground, Daniel Solarez, and he shared with me a story. One of the things that we do for each child in our program is offer them the opportunity to learn a life skill. In the village of Zion, along with the Sewing for Souls program, we have a bakery program. Some of the young ladies and young men are learning to bake cupcakes, pizza, and bread, and some of them have also been set up with micro-businesses to learn how to run their own small business. For two of the young men, they have been doing extremely well and use the bakery on certain hours to make food to sell in their communities.They are “charged” for their use of electricity during the time they use the bakery as well as the supplies they use and they set the prices on the food they sell. They are truly learning some business skills that will help them. These two young men have done very well, and been working very hard building up a business in the community and learning the skill of baking. Not long after they officially started their micro-business, they returned to Daniel with an envelope full of pesos.“Daniel, we want to give this to you,” they both told him.“What is this for?” Daniel asked.“God has blessed our business and we want to give some of the first fruits back to Him for blessing us,” they replied.Daniel was surprised at the maturity of these two young men. When he told me this story, I began to weep thinking about what God is doing in the hearts of young buys and girls in the village.Thank you for your significant impact that you make with every gift that you give. Right now in the United States, school is a large topic of conversation. Because of the Coronavirus, the new year at school may look vastly different for most children. My niece and nephew are supposed to start their first year of school this fall. They have been looking forward to it with great anticipation - new teachers, new friends, and new routines. However, they may not be able to due to the Coronavirus. Some of our high school friends who have come to the DR on a trip with us aren't quite as happy about returning to school, as high school means much homework and many exams. In the Dominican Republic, all children anxiously look forward to the possibility of going to school, no matter their age. For most of them, it's not possible, despite the Covid-19 pandemic. The challenge for attending school in the DR is not the Coronavirus, but having the funds necessary to enter school. School in the Dominican is not free. There is no such thing as public education. There is no government assistance for school. The cost of school fees, uniforms, school supplies, etc. make it nearly impossible for children in the DR to obtain a formal education. Here at the Crossover Cups Mission, EDUCATE is one of our core values. We believe in the education of children. Because of people like you who give, many of the children in the Crossover Cups villages have been going to school, and (Lord willing) will return to school this fall in some fashion. Dominican children study hard because they know that education is the key to escaping poverty. Education is the key to a better future. Education is the escape from a life of imminent exploitation and abuse. Natasha is one of those students who has been able to attend school through the Crossover Cups program. She lives just beyond the garbage dump and has been written off by most of society. but she knows the future that God has for her is very bright. Because someone like you stepped up to cover the cost of her school fees, uniforms, and shoes, Natasha is changing the trajectory of her life. Ingrid's Village Land Expansion Over the years, faithful partners like you have helped propel the mission forward by giving generous gifts to help us complete large projects. In 2017, donors like you gave to purchase land in La Union Abajo. Today on that land sits a large community center and basketball court which is now the hub for discipleship and leadership training in La Union. In 2018, you helped us fund the bakery in Zion. That bakery now provides many young adults with baking skills training, which gives them a life away from exploitation and abuse. In 2019, you helped us build a community center, sewing center, and bakery in Valedor, which is now a village filled with families who desire to break the chain of poverty through the gospel of Jesus Christ. None of these projects would be possible without faithful partners like yourself. Today, we are asking for your generous gifts to help us complete another large project. If you have come with us to the DR, you have seen the land that sits undeveloped in front of Ingrid's Village (pictured above). The Cups Mission team has envisioned that land being a part of our compound for many years, but the landowner was unwilling to sell. This year, we have the opportunity to make it a reality. Visions of the future of that land include a church building where the CUPS missionaries can hold weekly church services. Other plans for this land include a Guest House, which could house mission teams that come to the DR, or be a place for the mission to hold discipleship classes and hospitality classes. This piece of land costs $40,000. We have had a generous donor come forward with the first half. That means we need your help to raise the remaining $20,000. Faith Isn't Enough What good is it dear brothers and sisters if you say you have faith but don’t show it by your actions? James 2:14 I thought I was just meeting a friend for lunch. So, when he invited me to join him on a mission trip to the Dominican Republic, I tried to think of an excuse why I couldn’t go. After all, I thought I was just going to write him a check to show my support and be on way. “Why not join me? You like to travel and you will get a chance to share your faith” he said. Immediately, I was reminded of the verse from James that my pastor had preached the day before. “What good is it dear brothers and sisters if you say you have faith but don’t show it by your actions?” Further on it says,” Unless it (faith)produces good deeds, it is dead and useless.” Reluctantly I said I would go. I left the lunch meeting arguing my case with the Lord. “Lord, you know all that I’m dealing with, a broken marriage, a prodigal son who at this very moment, I don’t have a clue as to where he is. The last few months Lord have taken a toll on me emotionally, physically and spiritually. Each day has been a struggle living moment by moment ready for the next wave of fear to drag me under. How can I share a faith that I’m having trouble believing? I failed miserably teaching my son, look at what’s happened Lord, how can I teach others? “ Later that evening I was challenged by a friend who asked the question; Are they just words in a book to you or are they God’s promises and do you really believe they are true? Your son was brought up in truth, turn him over to the One who created him. Go and tell others of God’s word and his promises. It was as if a light switch had been turned on! Yes! Yes, I believe in His promises! I will be obedient. I will turn my faith in to action as I let go of my worries here in the states and go to the Dominican Republic! That was 8 years ago. Our God is faithful! My marriage has been restored and my son has rededicated his life to the Lord and was baptized in 2015. The seeds that we planted in a little village named Zion back in 2013 have produced much fruit! Many of those children in that first Bible Camp are now Student Leaders. I’ve had the privilege of watching their faith grow and now am honored to serve alongside them as we teach the next generation of God’s promises! Hello Cups Partners! Can you hear me? Maybe I should take my mask off so you can hear me... Wow, these last few months have been interesting! Like many of you, our stateside team has been working remotely, but now we are slowly beginning to regather as a team to move forward. All of our summer trips have been postponed because of Covid-19, but the ministry on the ground continues. Daniel and our phenomenal team of missionaries have not missed a beat meeting the needs of the children and families in the Dominican Republic since this epidemic started. They continue to minister in each village, utilizing small group bible study, phone calling, social media, and other tools to help the children in our programs stay engaged. Additionally, distributing food has been a major priority because of the lockdown and many of our families not being able to work. (For a more detailed update, be sure to tune in to our LIVESTREAM event online on June 7th.) One of the incredible things that is happening during this time is people coming to faith in Jesus as Daniel and the missionaries distribute food. Recently, in our mountain village, the team had the opportunity to hand out Bibles along with food. When the Bibles were handed out, one of the people said, "This Bible is for me??" Daniel replied, "Yes, it is for you." "For me??," the young man replied. "Yes, this Bible is for you!" said Daniel. God is using our team, and you as partners are making it happen. Your gift now is significant when it comes to providing emergency food relief. Thank you for whatever you can do as the team distributes food for the body and the soul in Jesus' name. As things seem to be calming down in the United States, the Coronavirus pandemic is escalating quickly in the Dominican Republic. The nation is on a complete lockdown from 5pm to 8am for everything except emergency services until at least June 1. The usually busy streets are completely empty. While the big cities in the DR saw the first cases of Covid-19, now the smaller villages, like the ones you know and love, are increasing in their numbers of cases. Daniel and the Crossover Cups Mission team are being bombarded with food needs from our six villages. Last month, Daniel and the team gathered food for families, loaded it onto a truck, and delivered it to families in need. Now, it is too dangerous for that. People are desperate, and they will do whatever it takes to get food. Now, Daniel and the team are calling families on the phone to schedule a time to come pick up their ration of food at the mission compound, providing a safe way for our team to get food to the villagers. Our team is keeping good spirits, but the limits that have been placed on buying food for this many people creates all day task, and there are not enough masks for everyone to keep our own team safe. We need your help! Feeding the hungry families in our villages requires $1000 a day right now. We need this from you. Every penny, quarter, dollar, hundred dollars, or thousand dollars makes a difference in our villages. We have a duty to work through this pandemic and feed the hungry children. $100 will provide 120 meals. I ask that you pray this one prayer: "God, should I give to Crossover Cups right now?" | Unfortunately, this is no April Fool's joke. As the Covid-19 Coronavirus panic escalates around the world, everyone is panicking. However, the United States is not facing many of the challenges that third-world countries are currently facing due to the Coronavirus. The Dominican Republic seems to be crumbling before our eyes. Daniel and the Crossover Cups Mission team are being bombarded with food needs from our six villages. On a good week, families in the DR only have one day of food reserve. Because the Dominican Republic is in a country-wide mandatory two-week quarantine, there is no work. The country is on a complete lockdown from 5pm to 8am for everything except emergency services. Those who were day-laborers in the dump are now among the already high number of unemployed. We have an order of food set to arrive in Santo Domingo, which is a 5-6 hour drive. We are working on getting a legal paper from the police to violate the curfew so that we can go get the food. This is food we normally cook for the dump, but the since dump is closed, we will cook it and distribute it among the 600+ houses in our villages. This is good news! However, it would only be a few pounds of rice and beans for each house. That is only a two-day supply of food per family. | With just a few short months left until summer, we are working hard to prepare for the upcoming Bible Camps! As we prepare, it is so easy to get caught up in the logistics of planning (collection of craft materials, registration, scheduling, promotions, etc), to look past the meaning of these Bible Camps, and the preparation God is doing in the hearts of the the young children, DR student leaders, and our own staff members. Please join us in reflecting in thanksgiving of God's handiwork through the testimonies of these young students that have grown up participating in Bible Camp! "The camp for me has helped me to know more about the word of God, I have learned about his sacrifice and this has led me to repent of my sins. One of the most shocking things for me is to listen to the testimonies, sometimes we think that other people do not suffer but when we hear them we see how God is working in their lives." | Bible Camp is a huge part of our Mission in the DR. For just a few weeks of the summer, the children are able to participate in worship, dancing, crafts, bible lessons, memory verses, and hearing testimonials from our trip participants. These weeks are full of fellowship, laughter, joy and spiritual growth! When you partner with $23/month, you are giving a child access to these Bible Camps each year, as well as our year-round discipleship programs.

| Dear Partners:What an incredible Christmas and New Years!I hope you and your family were blessed. I have been blessed by spending New Years and several additional days in the Dominican seeing the growth of the Crossover Cup's work thanks to you! Mike Williams and I had the joy last week and this week of serving with teams from around the country who are pouring their hearts into the families in each village. (If you plan on joining us for a trip, please contact our stateside office. Summer trips are almost full!) Probably one of the highlights of my trip this week was hearing about what God is doing through our missionaries on the ground. Our phenomenal Director, Daniel Solares, and his wife Judith, shared with us about each village and how God was working. In the village of Valedor, a new bakery and sewing program will soon be starting. It's the second bakery and sewing center. The first bakery is in Zion Village. Daniel shared about how some of the girls are beginning to sell the bread they have learned to make at the bakery. He shared with us how they came back after their first week of selling bread and wanted to give Daniel some money. When he asked what it was for, they told him, they wanted to give their "first fruits" from their new bakery business back to God. Wow!Transformation is happening. (Did I mention we have trips for folks to come down and see what is happening?) | It seems like just yesterday we were looking at a barren spot of land with dreams of building houses there for the poor. Today, that community is now full of homes, and the busiest place in the village is the basketball court and community discipleship pavilion built by partners like you. This community center is providing the Gospel to children every week. Thank you for being the hands and feet of Jesus. I know that you have many opportunities to connect with other mission organizations that carry greater name recognition. | It was just eight years ago that we spent our first Thanksgiving in the Dominican Republic serving these impoverished communities. So many beautiful blessings have happened since then, and you all have been there throughout the journey. Thank you. Together we have seen lives transformed, education provided, meals served, children rescued, and people come to know Jesus Christ as their own Lord and Savior. This is truly a great-commission effort we have had together. This year another team will head into the garbage dump on Thanksgiving morning. It is always a special day for us of the American culture, as we serve the poorest of the poor in an attitude of personal thanksgiving for the blessings we have received in simply being born in the United States. We are also thankful for the good news of Jesus that came to us on that greatest of all thanksgiving days over two-thousand years ago. I do my best to never miss a meal without being thankful to God for the blessings of Christ. I want every meal to be a time of remembrance and consecration. As you share meals this Thanksgiving with your family and friends, please remember your friends in the Dominican Republic. Although we are miles apart, we share the same table of partnership in Christ and in this mission. Thanks for whatever special Thanksgiving offering you can send this year for our feeding programs. May your turkey be moist, may your stuffing be tasty, may your gravy be glutton free, and may we always have a place in our hearts for each other in common partnership in saving lives. | When you're leaving to go to the garbage dump, you prepare your mind for what you are going to see. It's going to be full of trash, it's going to smell bad, it's going to be sad to see people living in such destitution. But what I didn't prepare my mind for was the hope that I'd see. Maybe that sounds insensitive since I am not the one living in such dire conditions, but track with me for a moment if you can. If a garbage dump did not sit atop that hill, I think a five-star resort would reside there. The view is unlike any you've ever seen--it's a view people would pay millions for. But many people now would count it worthless because of all the trash that litters that hilltop. In that moment, my first time on that hill, I felt the Father reminding me that this garbage in which I'm standing is not so different from the trash I sort through in my soul on a daily basis. When I focus on that trash, it's easy to get overwhelmed by the sorrows of this world. But, when I lift my eyes a little, I can look past the filth on the ground right in front of me and look ahead to the million-dollar view beyond. The view that reminds me that even though this world brings trouble and sorrows and tribulation, Jesus has overcome all of that (John 16:33). He not only overcame that for me, but for all of us. Through our ministry in the garbage dump, we're inviting people to lift their eyes--to take their focus off the garbage all around them and look forward to the glory that is theirs in Jesus. To grasp onto a hope that may be unseen instead of the trash that is far too easy to see. Would you pray with us that these friends would encounter that radical hope? | School is back in session! Greetings! and Happy September! As our pastor said this past week, some of you are "Boo-who" and some are "Ya-hoo!" Which one are you? Some of you are emotional because your kids are back in school; our oldest one went off to college, so we are empty-nesters. I am the "boo-who" in our house...teary-eyed and emotional while my wife is the "Ya-hoo!" and is excited that we graduated two children! No matter which category you are in, school is back in session, and the fall will soon be upon us. In the Dominican Republic, children are not able to go to school if they are not able to purchase all the supplies needed for school--including their uniforms, correct shoes, and school supplies. Many children are going to school now because of people like you and your partnership! Thank you so much! At the Crossover Cups Mission, we don't want to see a lack of supplies hold children back from their futures, which is why we seek to provide children in our programs with the necessary items for school each year. Thanks to your generosity, in August, we were able to hand out over 500 backpacks to children for school. That's over 500 kids who would otherwise not be given the opportunity of an education without your generosity. With the start of school comes the revamping of our programs--discipleship programs, music classes, and vocational skills. Please be praying for our on-the-ground team and the children they will be pouring into through these outreaches. We believe that the Lord wants to use these programs and these relationships to transform lives! Thank you for the difference you are making by purchasing something as simple as a backpack. | Crossover Cups Shareholders, Thank you! Because of your partnership, we had an incredible summer of ministry. Hundreds of children learned more about Jesus in our Bible camps in all of our villages, many made commitments to Sea La Luz (Be The Light!). God is working amongst our on the ground team as well, and we are excited as the fall approaches. Our goal has been to replicate the spiritual and physical transformation many of you have seen in Zion Village, our initial project. We want to replicate the discipleship programs, athletic programs, sewing programs, and bakery school. Our new bakery now provides all the bread that we serve in the garbage dump program. Teaching these life skills along with the love of Jesus, is the two-fold approach that we must use so that they hear the gospel and learn how to 'feed themselves.' | Mike Williams is the founder of the Cups of Cold Water Project, which merged with The Crossover Cups Mission in 2018. Since 2008, Mike has been working in the Dominican Republic to bring life-change through meeting the physical and spiritual needs of children there. |

| A letter from Mike Williams... Greetings from the Dominican Republic where the feels-like temperature is 140! We are about midway through a beautiful summer of discipleship. We are seeing children and teens make good choices for Christ. Six weeks of Bible school may seem like a lot, but these children would love for our visiting teams to be here twelve weeks! Can you be one of them next year? Along with the weekly VBS programs, we are feeding at the garbage dump five days a week. What an excellent way to fulfill the Great Commission. We deliver the food provided by your generous partnership. We are representing you and Christ with every food truck delivery. Recently, our group prayed for a man in the dump who a year ago was our worst adversary. He was always causing problems, and now he is asking for prayer in front of all the people there! Praise the Lord for transformation. Along with the daily dump feedings, we are going onto the streets to minister to the girls who have already been victimized by traffickers. Last week we went out on a unique night, not knowing that God had ordained our visit. A prostitute who had met us the week before came looking for us. She was going to commit suicide that night but went out looking for us for a dose of Christian hope. Usually, Wednesday is not our night on the streets, but God had other plans. We were able to get her out of her brothel-room apartment and home to her own family five hours away. A life saved for God! This great commission work happens because of your partnership. Thank you. The Crossover Cups mission is you and me, it is Daniel and our summer staff, it is Jack and our church pastors, it is Evan, Jan, Elizabeth, Judith, Guillermo, Freddy, and so many more. This mission is all of us together doing what we can in the Name of Jesus to transform the lives of Dominican and Haitian children. Thanks for being a team player. | Dental Team Trip At the end of May, a dental team from Pennsylvania College of Technology joined us in the Dominican Republic. Thanks to their work, we were able to provide dental cleanings, sealants, and fluoride treatments to children in the villages. They treated 372 children, placed 844 sealants, and provided 720 silver diamine fluoride treatments. There is definitely a need for dental care in the DR, and we are thankful for this team that came and sacrificed their time and resources to brighten the smiles of the children in the DR! |
