Are the Indianapolis Colts still in the hunt for the division title?
Final Thoughts.
The Indianjapolis Colts were caught reacting instead of imposing their will.
Alec Pierce, Jonathan Taylor and the offensive line, were the only people who played well.
Anthony Richardson's first run was in the 4th quarter. Is that good or bad?
The team seemed to begin 'Bleaving' in themselves at halftime.
Wide Receivers dropping the ball, and Richardson making horrible decisions.
Even with Richardson having problems, the Colts can NOT bench him.
Worst game calling from Shane Steichen, since he's been a head coach.
The defense can obviously stop the run, but the mentality wasn't there to start the game.
Indy is good enough to win games, but the coaching needs to step up.
Feels like it should not even been such a close scoring game.
Where was Zaire Franklin and E.J. Speed?
The defensive line for the Indianapolis Colts weren't eating the blocks in the run game.
The Colts offense can't just be highlight plays. They have to make the average plays also.

Some things don't show up on the field, that go into roster decisions.

Anthony Richardson seems to still have the arm strength, but also now throws with touch more often.

Jonathan Taylor and the running backs looked great.
A lot of dropped passes by AD Mitchell and the wide receivers.

After the initial 3 days, players will probably then be in full pads.
Wednesday August 7th is Salute to Service.

What are your thoughts about the schedule, and charging ticket prices on certain days?
Indianapolis Colts Center: Ryan Kelly is the NFLPA Vice President.
Kelly is not on board for an 18 game NFL season.

Week 1 is a tough game vs the Texans, to break the opening game curse.
Half the Colts first 8 games are division games.
Hosting the Dolphins week 7 will be a big matchup!
Going to the Patriots could be a nasty weather game, but won't have the rivalry feel.
Week 16 versus the Titans could determine the schedule of the last 2 weeks.
This is assuming Anthony Richardson is the Indianapolis Colts starter the full NFL season.
In the RPO system, it is imperative to be able to block, to get more opportunities.
I have Alec Pierce over Adonai Mitchell, and Josh Downs, to be the Wide Receiver breakout player.
Out of 5 possible Tight Ends, I can see 2 having breakout potential.
Kylen Granson does so much, so well, he will be on the field the most.
Andrew Ogletree is who people hoped Mo Alie-Cox would turn out to be.
The Colts are deep with Tight Ends, but they've been hurt the past 2 seasons.

The was a lot in 2023 that held back Anthony Richardson.
Right after being drafted, Anthony had to split 1st team reps with Gardner Minshew.
He was unable to get any reps with probably the best playmaker on the team: Jonathan Taylor.
He drastically improved from weeks 1 & 2, to weeks 4 & 5, in the 2023 NFL season.
He does not have those hurdles to deal with, coming into the 2024 season.
The difference between having Zach Moss, and Taylor, can not be understated!
The Indianapolis Colts have multiple explosive weapons for AR, he did not have last year.
I don't see Richardson's injuries, as him being 'injury prone'.
He has so many weapons around him, he will not need to run the football as much.
How good do you think Anthony Richardson will do this season?
The 53 man cuts for the Indianapolis Colts are going to be tough.
Elite edge pass rush was a need, and Laiatu Latu is definitely a home run.
Adonai Mitchell can absolutely be a dangerous weapon to the Indy offense.
Matt Goncalves is a power tackle, that probably won't do well vs speed rushers.
Tanor Bortolini is a smart, technically sound, center or guard. But needs to get stronger.
Anthony Gould is a burner. Return specialist, who could also back-up slot receiver.
Jaylon Carlies is a traditional body type for Chris Ballard, but needs work at linebacker.
Jaylin Simpson has a lot of versatility when playing defensive back.
Micah Abraham a lot of production, but not a typical Ballard move.
Jonah Laulu is a typical Ballard pick for 3 tech, but needs a lot of improvement in different areas.
It was the second time Asst. Director: Jaime Moore got on a draft call.
Jaylon Carlies was a scout team unanimous decision.
Jaylin Simpson is going to be given a chance at cornerback.
Laiatu Latu was considered a "When a talent line, meets the need line".
Both offensive linemen were picked because of talent & toughness.
The Wide Receivers were selected in part due to the arm strength of Anthony Richardson.
Anthony Gold was specifically selected due to the new kickoff rules.
The Indianapolis Colts are excited about the defensive backs that are coming back.
Running back was not selected, because Jonathan Taylor is their guy.
Laiatu Latu really turned around the UCLA defense immediately after transferring, post surgery.
Latu patterns his game off Aaron Donald and Maxx Crosby.
Latu might be able to shock some people early in the season, and earn opposing offenses respect.
Weak points Laiatu has that could hold him back, or that he needs to work on?
Can Laiatu be a 3 down lineman for the Indianapolis Colts, and stop the run?
Latu can play inside as well, and the defense ran through him.
Latu never missed a game for UCLA, and James never had any worry about his previous neck injury.
He can come in, and learn a lot, from the guys the Colts already have.
Where you can find and follow James Williams.
Donald Thomas is back!
Should the Indianapolis Colts make a move on pass rush, if available at 15?
Is it the receiver corps, or the Quarterback play?
Should Brock Bowers be a target?
The secondary played poor, but is it just inexperience? Where do you draft one?
Do the Colts need to change the DB coach?
How heavily should Chris Ballard be looking to move up?
The 1st pick needs to be an impact player, no matter the position.
Indy still basically has a rookie Quarterback.
@00:14 Intro
@01:20 Rock is very good at man coverage, especially versus big, possession type receivers.
@03:29 He never had a chance in Baltimore to get comfortable with the defense around him.
@05:30 After being traded to the Raiders, he had a solid season, then bet on himself in Free Agency.
@07:25 His last season with the Indianapolis Colts, he was a CB1, and played like it.
@09:40 Ya-Sin's lock down ability will help the 49ers defense get to the Quarterback even more!
Too much smoke, to see the fire.
Marvin Harrison Jr. is my #1 Wide Receiver Prospect, but I doubt Indy moves up to get him.
Malik Nabers is not an 'X' Receiver, but he'll be top receiving target for most teams.
Rome Odunze is a dangerous target on the outside, reminds me of Colts: Michael Pittman Jr.
Brian Thomas Jr. is fast for a big guy, but is a project.
Xavier Worthy is lightning in a bottle, but his size is worrisome to me.
Adonai Mitchell is someone who could be an Indianapolis Colts, if he works on 1 thing, and keeps his diabetes in check.
Xaiver Legette and Keon Coleman round out my 2nd round guys, in the 2024 NFL draft.
The Defensive Back position was not up to par for the Indianapolis Colts last season.
Quinyon Mitchell of Toledo is the best all-around cornerback prospect in this 2024 NFL draft.
Nate Wiggins of Clemson is the biggest boom or bust prospect in the entire draft.
Terrion Arnold out of Alabama has great instincts, but lack of confidence, and top end speed will limit him.
Kool-Aid McKinstry from Bama is not good at zone defense.
Cooper DeJean from Iowa is a Swiss Army knife of defensive backs.
The Indianapolis Colts are trying to get an elite pass rusher.
Picking 15th overall on the 2024 NFL draft, you're hoping for a blue chipper to fall.
Dallas Turner from Alabama probably won't make it to #15, but if he falls, he's a no-brainer pick.
Laiatu Latu from UCLA is absolutely amazing, but his neck surgery is a red flag.
Jared Verse from FSU is a powerhouse, but I don't believe he is an elite pass rusher.
Chop Robinson from Penn State is very fast, but has too many unknowns to pick in round 1.
@00:14 Intro
@02:30 Everyone the Indianapolis Colts have signed/re-signed to date:
@05:05 Kenny Moore II extension is a bargain for his play.
@08:01 Indy signed Joe Flacco in replacement of Gardner Minshew.
@11:10 I never expected the Colts to go for a high priced player, like Sneed, this offseason anyhow.
@17:05 The Colts are exactly where I expeceted them to be right now.
@18:38 Signing a stop gap CB or Safety is the right move, right now, for Indy.
@20:48 Bowers will not available for Ballard, at #15, in the draft.
@23:05 Teams that 'win' Free Agency, rarely win the season.
Indianapolis Colts Tight End: Andrew Ogletree has domestic violence charges dismissed, due to investigation.
How deep are the Colts at TE?
The NFL Free Agent market for tight ends is vast.
Will the Colts make any moves at the position?
Introducing the free agency series
Colts need to fill a Quarterback spot, with only Anthony Richardson and Sam Ehlinger on the roster.
Indianapolis will not be looking at players who are expecting big money.
Gardner Minshew: Colts
Ryan Tannehill: Titans
Jacoby Brissett: Commanders
Tyrod Taylor: Giants
I would not want Marcus Mariotta, Sam Darnold, or Drew Lock, and others.
Tyler Huntley: Ravens.
Joe Flacco: Browns?
You need to be semi-mobile and a decent arm strength to take advantage of Shane Steichen's play design's.
Bringing back Carson Wentz would be very controversial.
Let's try to figure out how Indianapolis Colts General Manager: Chris Ballard will approach this.
There are too many in-house players that need re-signed, to spend big outside the organization.
He'll probably spend mid money on a veteran secondary player.
Where he feels he can get a top player at pick 15, could determine where he spends on a free agent.
Probably not much movement at linebacker.
Gardner Minshew will probably be the top target for back-up quarterback again.
I seriously doubt the Colts sign a big name Wide Receiver, and here is why:
The running back position might get a low money free agent.
The Tight End room is still very talented, and it wasn't their fault the production wasn't there.
There might be a pick-up for a back-up offensive lineman.
The Kansas City Chiefs have evolved over the past 5 years.
If you don't want to see another dynasty win so many Super Bowls, then beat them.
San Francisco 49ers Quarterback Brock Purdy has been impressive his first 2 seasons.
Patrick Mahomes' X-factor, won't let me be comfortable picking the 49ers to win.
The Chiefs have to contain the 49ers running system.
San Fran has to keep Mahomes completely uncomfortable all game.
Force someone other than Travis Kelce to step up.
Game score predictions!
Initial thoughts of the top NFC teams in the NFL.

Mason Rudolph has cemented another year with the Steelers.
Mike Tomlin's defense could force turnovers, and he should not be on the hot seat.
Game outcome?
Should the 4th and 1 pass went to Goodson, or should have Jonathan Taylor been out there?
1 play, 75 yards, and a touchdown, set the tone for the Texans right out the gate.
Colts Quarterback Gardner Minshew had some bad passes, and wide receivers had a lot of drops.
C.J. Stroud looked comfortable, for the most part of the game.
The Indianapolis Colts were fortuitous, and fought hard all season, to end like that.
There is a lot of positives to take from the season.
Indy has had very bad luck with kick returners, the past year.
This season was not completely wasted for Anthony Richardson.
Initial thoughts of the Houston Texans visiting the Indianapolis Colts, Week 18 of the 2023 NFL season.
Houston's injury report is pretty eye opening.
Indy's injury report looks better, they seem to be getting healthier.
C.J. Stroud has the team on his shoulders this week.
These defenses for the Colts and Texans play very differently on the back end.
But the front 4 of these teams are quite similar, they both set the tone for their teams.
Shane Steichen can't hold anything back.
The coaches have to get the players to believe in their strategy this week.
Home field advantage could help out, if Colts fans play their part.
Texans run defense is REALLY good. But don't give up on the run if it is not there immediately.
Game Predictions!
Initial reaction to the Indianapolis Colts handling the Las Vegas Raiders week 17 of the 2023 NFL season.
The Colts had control of the entire game, despite the stats and final score.
Indy needs to cut out those plays that give the other teams momentum(Like E.J. Speed's penalty).
Despite the stats, the Colts secondary did well overall versus Devante Adams, and the Raiders offense.
Gardner Minshew has protected the football the past 5 games.
Braden Smith proved how good he really is, even when not at 100%.
The Indianapolis Colts and the Las Vegas Raiders are on very different trajectories.
Colts get back Michael Pittman Jr. and Braden Smith! Both huge for the upcoming matchup!
Andrew Ogletree arrested for a domestic violence felony charge.
Raiders will not have their number 1 tight end, and probably without Josh Jacobs!
Indy are favorites to win, even though Maxx Crosby has been devastating this season.
The defense needs to play much better, especially with tackling, in order to win.
Aidan O'Connell is a rookie Quarterback, and has played like one.
Devante Adams has not been the best receiving option for the Raiders in my opinion.
The offensive line has got to open up some run lanes for Jonathan Taylor.
Getting important players back changed my opinion on the outcome.
Game prediction!
Reaction to the horrible performance by the Indianapolis Colts at Atlanta Falcons.
The defense could not stop the Falcons offense in any aspect.
The amount of missed tackles by the Colts was shocking.
The Falcons really opened running lanes and ran it well.
How much of the blame is on Defensive Coordinator: Gus Bradley?
Indy's offense line was not blocking effectively.
Can the Colts make the playoff's, after what we say last week?
What is the benefit of making the playoffs, even if you don't make the Super Bowl?
Even wildcard teams can win a championship.
Every player has a ceiling, even top 10 draft picks.
Initial thoughts of the Indianapolis Colts versus the Atlanta Falcons week 16 of the 2023 NFL season.
The Indianapolis Colts have not lost to team with a losing record this year.
Michael Pittman Jr. and Jonathan Taylor clear to play this week.
The Colts can utilize their tight ends in the passing game, instead of using them to help block.
The Falcons defense has been alright, but not much of a pass rush. Perfect for Gardner Minshew.
The Colts defense need to continue improving on their impressive sack numbers.
The Falcons are a scrappy team, and losing the last week could light a fire under them.
Bijan Robinson is what really runs their offense.
Arthur Smith and Shane Steichen are on 2 different trajectories.
This game's importance is very important for Indy's mental state.
Reggie Wayne has been teaching the leaders of the locker room, how to be leaders.
Game predictions!
After the game that Shane Steichen and the Indianapolis Colts showed versus the Pittsburgh Steelers, Indy still in NFL playoff hunt.
Donald Thomas tells us the nature of both teams, from his viewpoint at the game.
The conference playoff race is so jumbled, from seed 3 on down.
Both the Baltimore Ravens, and the Miami Dolphins, have very tough games remaining.
It is too tight to make real playoff predictions right now.
A lot of back-up quarterbacks in the playoff race.
If the Colts lose 1 of the next 3 games, the Falcons are the only team they could, and still have a chance.
How difficult is it to prepare for a game, when you don't know who the Quarterback will be?
Players don't just watch film on the starters of their opponents.
Gus Brandley changed his pass rush, by adding a lot of stunts and twists playing the Steelers.

The self inflicted wounds were absolutely atrocious!
The Colts lost a big opportunity.
Three screen plays gave the Bengals over half their passing yardage, who's to blame?
Does head coach: Shane Steichen deserve blame?

The 4th year running back Holds out, he'd be fined more than he's ever made in the NFL.
Taylor requested a trade, and Jim Irsay immediately denied trading him at all this year.

His best move is to play for the Colts, like he is playing for a contract.
It is possible he will hold out because he knows his ankle isn't the same.
Taylor should play if healthy, and force Chris Ballard's hand.
NFL running backs have not gotten a real raise in the past 10 years.
