Hey Outlaws, as mentioned, today is the last episode of Entrepreneurial Outlaws! I have been trying to record this final episode for the previous two weeks, and it’s been hard to figure out how to do this. It’s been emotional as well. But here I am, ready to say goodbye to podcasting, but not to you, my beloved community. Even if you do not hear me weekly in our podcast conversations or on Instagram, there are several ways we can continue our fruitful discussions. So today, I will focus on introducing to you what is coming up for the Entrepreneurial Outlaws, as I’m finally ready to concentrate on who I was always supposed to be, the creative version of myself.  Also, I want to thank each of you for your listenership and for making this a reality because I would not have been able to do this without you.

So if you’re a perfectionist and overthinker, this episode is for you. Tune in to hear more insights.

Note from Nina:  ‘’I’ve been reflecting on our recording and realized that the way I talked about spoon theory and managing our mental energy is really appropriating language/concepts used by the chronic illness community, and that’s not ok.’’

Hey Outlaws, welcome to this week's episode. Today I will cover a topic I never discussed before - mindset shifts and manifesting. Efia Sulter is joining us today to share her journey to becoming a mindset and manifestation coach. Hey Outlaws, as promised, we have a different episode for you today on the show because Entrepreneurial Outlaws turns TWO this month! Since starting Entrepreneurial Outlaws back in 2020, a lot has changed and in some ways nothing has changed. Currently my business is so close to my heart and soul and I remain in self audit mode, making adjustments to ensure I’m doing business on my own terms and I’ve been so grateful to have you here on this journey with me. I’ve learned so much and today I want to share the three lessons I’ve learned from podcasting as well as a big (kind of heavy) announcement about the show. Enjoy!

Outlaws, hustling actually isn't in our DNA, it is nurtured. This means we have got to collectively rethink and reframe self nurturing. We know that self-care is important, we know that it's not always a bubble bath and Netflix, we know that self-care can be tough. It can be heavy and involve hard conversations with ourselves and with others. Self-care can look like creating boundaries and then actually having to honor them, it can look like saying no ending relationships and it can even hurt us in the moment. Self-care requires us to self nurture, to take care of our needs in micro ways on a daily basis, and allows us to take care of ourselves in the long term.

Autumn seems to be the season of hustle culture messaging – we’re coming up on the end of the year and are often told that we need to make a final push whilst also planning for success in the new year. This mindset is a huge catalyst for entrepreneurial burnout. For me personally, this led to me not trusting myself as a business owner or creative. I remember asking for opinions from everyone around me instead of listening to my intuition. So today we are going to talk about self trust, learning to listen to your intuition, and how to protect your energy no matter the direction you choose to go in as the end of the year approaches us.

Hey Outlaws, welcome to episode 81. Thank you for joining me for the penultimate episode of our summer series.

Before we dive in, I want you to know that we are going to be taking a little break over here at the Outlaw headquarters in August. We're not going to be releasing any new episodes during that month, but we will be planning and working behind the scenes because, let me tell you, there is some exciting stuff coming.

Be sure to join the email list or connect with me on Instagram for all the updates!

Now, today, as we finish up our summer series over the next couple of episodes, we're going to be talking about what we could essentially do now to get ready for autumn. This episode serves as a reminder to listen to yourself and what you need rather than attaching to hustle culture. Enjoy!

Hey, Outlaws. Welcome to this brand-new episode of our summer series!

At the time of this episode airing, we have just experienced the summer solstice in the northern hemisphere – the longest day of the year. This is often known as “midsummer” for those of you who have warm summertimes, and some of us call it the beginning of summer because we’re in very wet and rainy countries.

We’ve also entered into Cancer season, and Cancer is a water sign – it can be associated with high emotions and I like to think of it as being a water/summertime energy.

As I plan for my business and downtime in the summer months, I will often look at the cycles that are around me and I will reflect on personal experience with each season to make sure I’m planning in a way that suits the season best.

In this episode we’re going to explore that cyclical nature of business and I’ll share some journal prompts that will help you to plan for this season. Let’s dive in!

Hey Outlaws, welcome to episode 79. Today we are continuing with our summer series and this week we're gonna be getting a little bit strategic – we're going to look at planning out your business' needs for the summer. This is something that is so important when we are looking to take time off, whether it is in the summer or any other time of year.

Last week, I introduced you to some questions that I've used in my own business to help me get ready for downtime, like what do I want my summer to look like? How much time do I want to take off? When do I want to work? Do you want to work every day?

You get to set that tone for your summer, so let’s expand on that in today’s episode.

Today we are starting a five-part mini series! It's going to be a summer series that is going to take us right through to August, and we are going to be looking at how you can get your business summer ready.

It’s really important for us to identify as individuals what it is that we really want to get from each season of our business, whether it's a physical season or winter spring summer, or whether chapter it is.

How can you allow your business to actually give you the life that you want? I want to explore today how we can really navigate this, how we can prepare for it and be really intentional about that time we take off.

We're also going to be looking at challenging what slow business is over the next five episodes – we’re going to be challenging the fact that slow business is slow, but it is not lazy. It's also not always on the fly.

We can have a season of planning and creativity, and this can work for all of us and the way we wanna run our business and the way we want to live our lives.

So grab out your journals and let’s find some clarity together today.

Welcome to a brand new guest episode, Outlaws. You’ve probably heard me talk about the book, I Don’t Want to be an Empath Anymore. I absolutely loved the way it has resonated with my own experiences as an online business owner and connected with the author, Ora North online. So, to have Ora on the podcast today feels like a huge honour.

As someone who’s always felt very deeply and who also lives with Bipolar Disorder, Ora has become an expert at creating systems to manage, lessen, or amplify the emotional experience.

I’m excited for you to learn more about how she runs her business as an emotional strategist and allows herself to put her emotions and needs first in her business. I hope you’re excited as I am!

This month we are going to be talking about seasons -- not just seasons from the year point of view or in terms of weather and things like that -- we're actually going to be talking about seasons of business.

This is an episode I've wanted to record for a while, so this month we're going to explore this idea over two episodes. The reason I want to talk about this is because we've talked a lot about cycles -- lunar and creative -- but there are so many different cycles around us.

One of the things that's really important to me as I go through this season and chapter of my own business, and I teach this and I use this myself to optimise and honour my own energy, is to recognize every season that surrounds us since we all experience energy differently.

So let’s dive in!

“She believed she could, so she did,” I used to love and live by this quote, or at least I used to try and live by. I used to believe that this was who I was meant to be.

I was faking it till I made it. I was pretending because I desperately wanted to believe in myself. But in reality, this just created trauma for me as a business owner, and I quickly suffered from comparisonitis and a loss of direction.

So instead, I decided to do business how I wanted to do it. I believed I could, but I didn’t have to – I didn’t have to do what bro marketing and business coaches were telling me. This is when Entrepreneurial Outlaws was born.

I’m breaking down this saying and where we can go from here on this last episode in our special Mindset Myth series. Enjoy!

Hey Outlaws, welcome to episode 69.  Today we are continuing our Mindset Myth series, and as promised, we are gonna be talking about hustle.

Today on the podcast, I have sourced many of the most common clichés, girl boss quotes, statements, phrases, whatever you want to call them – these things designed to inspire us and motivate us, but to be truthful are very toxic and a little bit dangerous to our energy and mental health.

I know that many of you have probably heard these quotes and you've probably been inspired by them at some point (as have I), but as we start to see through that and really start to honor our time and our energy more and more, I think that most of us are probably rolling our eyes at them.

So today I'm gonna share with you a few of these toxic quotes and we're going to talk about how they can be really detrimental to our businesses and some of the ways we can challenge and reframe this idea that we'd rather be tired all the time than broke.

Last week on the show we introduced our newest series, Mindset Myths, where we’re breaking down some of the biggest myths that we are constantly taught as online business owners. We started with the idea that nothing can grow in our comfort zones, and today we’re going to talk about how boundaries have been weaponised in the online space, how people use them to shirk their responsibilities, and then how we can actually honor our boundaries in a healthy and mindfully productive way.

Please know that setting boundaries isn’t always easy to do and it’s important to believe that whatever journey you’re currently on is the right one.

Hey Outlaws, welcome to episode 67 of the podcast. Recently on Instagram, I asked the Outlaw community what they believed some of the biggest clichés of growing an online business were and I got a lot of really great responses. So, from that feedback we are embarking on a new series where we break down these clichés, where they come from, and how to move away from them.

First up, we’re covering the whole idea of comfort zones and the push to step outside of them. In this episode we’re going to talk about how to reframe how you think about your comfort zone and learning to believe that you actually can grow within it.

Hey there, beautiful Outlaws, welcome to today's episode. I am really looking forward to continuing our conversation around slow business.

Today, as we continue the series, I am going to be exploring and potentially answering the question of how to make a slow business that is sustainable.

I think this is really important because we associate making money with hard work, and I'm not talking about somebody having a good work ethic. I 100% value that in people. However, I don't think your work ethic relates to how many hours you work and I think that's a really important distinction to make.

So I want to share my journey of how that mindset has changed for me so that you can maybe take steps to grow your slow business today, too.

Hey Outlaws, welcome to episode 59 of the podcast!

In today's episode, and the episodes in the coming weeks, we are gonna be talking about slow business.

So I want to start by putting this out there, by drawing my line in the sand and challenging the status quo ever so slightly, which I enjoy doing, and I'm gonna say this: you don't have to grow your business this year. We’re pushed to hustle at the start of a new year, to scale for six or seven figures, but I’m here to tell you that you don’t have to do that and this doesn’t make you inadequate or incapable.

So, I’m sharing my own journey with creating a slow business and choosing nurturing over hustling. I hope it encourages you to maybe do the same, too.

There were so many good things in 2021, but there were also some really hard moments, too. I want to share with you those challenges, but also the lessons that I took from them, because I think that's really important.

There are also some really positive lessons too, even through the rollercoaster of emotions that I experienced in my business.

Reflecting back has allowed me to more easily decide how I want to run and lead my business 2022. Maybe this episode will help you do the same. Enjoy!

As an online business owner, we all have people we’ve met online that we get to know beyond the business.

Lindley Ashline, fat positive photographer, writer, and activist, is one of those people for me. She’s the true definition of an Entrepreneurial Outlaw, and you’ll hear why in our conversation today.

We’re talking about how she fights weight stigma every day and her experience of creating a space that is diverse and authentic for marginalized business owners. You’ll also hear how we can all create more inclusive business in the online space and beyond.

Today's episode is going to be a little bit different, and I know I saw that often, but I'm really excited about this one. I’m doing something that I haven’t done before - I’m taking you through a day in the life.

Of course I'm not going to be carrying my microphone around with me all day long, but what I want to focus on in terms of my day in the life is really how I plan my business, how I plan my week, my days, and what I think about when I'm doing that planning.

I'm also going to take you through kind of how I work and my personal ways of working on different types of tasks, because I realized as I was preparing for this episode, I approach all of my tasks in different ways.

I hope this gets you thinking about how you can make planning and your business work for you!

Hey Outlaws, welcome to this cozy chat that is episode 51 of Entrepreneurial Outlaws.

In 2020, my income grew rapidly and it grew in ways I just could not even comprehend. This led me to feeling burnt out and low on passion and inspiration.

So today I wanted to share how and why I took a complete step back from my business to restructure things so that I was truly doing the work that I love the most while also creating a sustainable income.

Yes, we are going to be talking about passive/multiple streams of income, but we’re going to outlaw it of course. So, grab your journal and tune in.

I’ve found this newfound energy of wanting to get back into planning again as life feels a bit more predictable now. However, this time around, I will be intentional about aligning my planning with the moon cycle, which I’m going to share all about today. So get cozy and enjoy!

Hey Outlaws, this is episode 48 of the podcast, and today we are doing something a little bit different, I am going to be exploring a general prompt from the Outlaw Journal with you.

In this episode, I had planned originally to choose a prompt ahead of time, but I think it's going to be more fun for me to just pick a prompt at random and for us to dig in together, almost as if we are doing a live coaching or mentoring session.

So get comfy wherever you’re at with a cup of hot coffee or tea, grab your favorite pen, and open up your Outlaw Journal, and let’s explore together.

Hey, Outlaws. Welcome to episode 37! Today we are going to be diving into the topic of boundaries. Now I don't claim to be an expert in this topic, and there are some boundaries that I'm really still trying to work on because my boundaries in certain areas kind of stink and I'm going to be sharing what those boundaries are with you.

I truly believe in creating boundaries with others, we must first create them with ourselves. That's what I want to get into specifically in today's episode. I want to talk about those boundaries that we need to create with ourselves and how they can compulsively impact our business, our growth, our business decisions, and the relationships that we create.

Welcome to episode 35, today we are talking about the controversy behind pricing. Recently I found a note that I left on my notes app from the end of 2019 and I was talking about pricing, why we struggle so much as online business owners to price our own work, why we struggle to know what our hourly rate should be. We get really stuck in the question of what will people pay for this?

Today I'm going to share how I price my work and give you some ideas of how I use my intuition in the process. If you struggle to know whether your pricing is the right thing, or maybe you are ready to rid yourself of the toxic narratives around pricing, this episode is for you.

Hey Outlaws, today on Entrepreneurial Outlaws we are going to be exploring the power of self-inquiry. Self-inquiry is a tool that I have been using in my business for a while, but what I've discovered is when we approach self-inquiry with the focus on business, our own online businesses, what can happen is we are able to be better leaders. We're able to be more engaged leaders or engaged content creators.

So in today's episode, we're going to look at what self-inquiry is, how we can use it in our businesses, why it is so powerful, and how it helps us to reframe some of these situations I've mentioned. I'm also going to talk about what the opposite of self-inquiry is, and again, why we can use self-inquiry to tap into our intuition and to really make those business decisions from a place of value. Grab your journal, especially your Outlaw Journal if you have it, and join me on the newest episode of the show!

Welcome to episode 33 of Entrepreneurial Outlaws, in today's episode we are going to be going through some of the common phrases and narratives that we see in the online business community-- phrases that have been weaponized, phrases that we frequently see being used during promotions and launches and on sales pages to create an illusion that this investment, this purchase, this program offer, whatever it might be is going to not only give you exactly what you want to need, it's going to continue to provide you with safety or it's going to be different than everything else.

This comes from my own experience, but what I also want to say is that you might find some or all of this conversation to be triggering. I want to give you permission right now to just pause and it's okay, come back when you feel ready, but at the same time, if you do feel that you're ready to listen to this episode, that you're ready to dig into some of these phrases and really look at ways in which we can improve our relationship with this terminology and actually do the work and not just use them as a marketing ploy, then this episode is definitely for you. So get comfortable, get your earbuds, and let's get into episode 33.

Welcome to episode 31 of Entrepreneurial Outlaw, today I'm taking you on a journey into the parallels between songwriting and content writing (which is a constant loop in my head). When you see someone singing a song and you believe every single word that they are saying, and this is really what it's like to be a content creator, right? When you're creating content that engages your audience, this is what's happening.

Also, in researching this episode, I’ve found that self-awareness is the thing that is missing from the methodical and rigid steps we tend to follow when we sit down to create, whether it’s a song or a piece of content, and this is because self-awareness is a practice, it’s something that we as individuals need to lean into. So that is what we're going to talk about today along with the 5 stages of creating engaging content.

Hey friends, welcome to episode 27 of Entrepreneurial Outlaws. In today's episode, we are going to be looking at the business coaching echo chamber, which is this environment that many entrepreneurs, myself included, have found ourselves in when we have invested in coaching. This coaching is often feeding into not just bro marketing, but is this narrative that success looks a certain way. It is a narrative full of smoke and mirrors. It's a place where the truth is not always honored. There are also a lot of mindset and wellness techniques that are weaponized within these spaces.

I'm going to be coming to this from my own experience, what I experienced both while I was within the echo chamber and when I left. Listen in!

A few days ago I asked the question, “What is the business phrase that chafes your ass the most?” on Instagram and I was really blown away by a lot of the responses (that were all so accurate), but one really stuck out. Hey friends, welcome to episode number 22 of Entrepreneurial Outlaws. Today's episode is really a permission slip to not plan and batch your content in advance.

Welcome to this week's episode of Entrepreneurial Outlaws. We have a really hot conversation this week. It is a necessary conversation, it's relevant, it's timely, it's something I have certainly felt in the past six or seven weeks. I know I’m not the only one feeling this way too because I've had this conversation with a number of clients, friends, and peers. Hey Outlaws, I have a question and it doesn't have to be rhetorical-- why do you create content?

No matter your reason, ultimately we all create content to be of use to other people, to advertise our skills, to build a brand and a business so that people who need our help can find us. Then, they ultimately make the decision whether or not they're going to exchange money for our services or products.

It sounds so simple, right? But in reality it is far from easy when you are the content creator. The online space is noisy, but there is one thing that you have that other people don't, and that's you. So, on today's episode we're going to talk about storytelling and how to attract and engage with your audience on Instagram, even if you have a small audience.

So today we're going to dive into three reasons you're overthinking Instagram and his doesn't just apply to your business and your marketing, it applies to your content too and we're going to talk a little bit about this as well, but for now get comfy and let's dive in!

Welcome to episode number 16 of entrepreneurial Outlaws. In today's episode, we are going to be diving into intuition. We're going to be having a conversation about why your intuition is your best business strategy in 2021.

This past week I’ve noticed when my external world feels uncontrollable, I allow my own world to become uncontrollable. I procrastinate, I get distracted. I let all my boundaries down and I spiral into this place where I'm left, exhausted and drained by my own, my own toxic routine. And what I realized by the end of the week was that it comes back to intuition.

Welcome to episode number 14 of Entrepreneurial Outlaws. We made it through this year and this tomorrow is January 1st of 2021 (if you're listening in real time), and I've been doing a lot of thinking. A lot of people will tell you not to look back, but I think if there was ever a time to look back and reflect, this is it. If you don't look back, if we don't reflect on the past year or even the past few years, sometimes we continue with the same intentions, the same energy, and maybe those things aren't working for us. Maybe those things are kind of routine cycles, rituals, things that we continue to do, even though they're no longer serving us.

As we are heading into 2021, there is definitely a time for reflection and intention setting. So, during the episode today I'm going to be sharing with you four journaling prompts that I have been using to really help me get clear on my intentions for 2021 and I hope they help you, too.

Hey friends, welcome to episode number 12 of Entrepreneurial Outlaws. Today, as promised, we're going to be talking about the Entrepreneurial Outlaws Mentorship. This isn't a sales pitch or an episode where I'm going to even be able to invite you to join at the end of this, because I am still pulling all of this together.

Instead, today's episode is a recap of what I've learned in my own journey so far, what it is to truly be an Entrepreneurial Outlaw. Some of the things I've learned since launching this podcast and how I see this community evolving in a mentorship is going to be a huge part of that, but I'm still pulling it together, and truth be told, this is one of the most exciting projects I have worked on in my business besides the podcast. In today's episode I want to focus on where we are looking for inspiration in our professional and personal lives so that we can get clearer on creating a business that reflects our values and how we want to live our lives. So often we lose ourselves (and our joy) in our business. But now, personally, that's now how I want to live anymore. I've been forced to ask who am I without my business? Without my Instagram? Without my email marketing?

It's time for us to reclaim the joy, ease, and power back from our businesses.
