Have you ever lost something? We all lose or misplace things, but one thing we never want to lose is our sensitivity to what is right and wrong.
In California, many citrus growers will graft and orange or a grapefruit onto a lemon stalk and produce many types of fruit from one stalk. What a perfect picture of Galatians 5:22-23.
When we compare ourselves to others, especially in what God does for us, we are setting ourselves up for disappointment and this does not come from God, but from the enemy of God. Seek what God has for you and don't try to duplicate what you see others doing.
It's not what goes into a man that defiles him, but what comes out. We turn to Matthew 15:11 today to clear this up.
So what's the final word on repentance and salvation. We will take a closer look at what God has said, but here is a hint. His love is greater than anything you can come up with to over come it.
It is a huge pet peeve of mine when people try to throw piety in as a condition of salvation. That's a kingdom issue, not a salvation issue.
Don't be foolish like the Galatians were. Turning to Galatians 3, Phil shares a testimony about how he thought he was pleasing God with what he did instead of what he believed.
There is a lot to know about prayer but more about what you should not do. Prayer is a fancy word we use for talking to God and it doesn't have to be ritualistic. In fact, he wants it to be a normal conversation.
James chapter 3 speaks of wisdom from above, which we know is from God Hiimself, but what is it that is not from God? When we mix in selfish ambition it is not.
Give me that Old Time Religion, or maybe not. It depends on if it is Biblically true or not. Where do we draw the line between tradition and Bible?
Turning to Acts 18, we look at the story of Apollos. A devout Jew that knew the scriptures well but needed a little extra help to really make an impact.
2 Chronicles 7:14 has a very famous passage and it is often quoted on the National Day of Prayer. But what led us to this saying from God to Solomon? 2 Chronicles chapter 6 is so important in the context. Listen to this and then read that passage.
Coming off the heals of the CrowdStrike computer bug, Chad and Phil discuss how our reliance on things that are not of God can cause us problems and heartache in our lives. God wants us to rely on Him first and everything else second.
I am back from break. We are inherently made to be good. Sin has corrupted us but we were made to be good.
I don't usually talk about the rapture. It's too polarizing and too many people take too much stock in it on both sides. I think only the debate between coke and pepsi is bigger. But in a rare event, to answer a question, I will share my views on the rapture. For many years I believed in a pre-trib rapture because I didn't look to the Bible for the answer. I let others tell me what it was. But when I investigated, I found it to not be true. This is one of the reasons why.
Taking a line from a journal he wrote in 20 years ago, Phil explains how the Holy Spirit really works in a person's life and not how he understood it in 2004.
The rainbow is given to us in Genesis after the flood as a sign of the covenant made with Noah. But what more is it? We will discover how the colors relate to something else Biblically.
Do you throw caution to the wind? Is impulsiveness good or bad? The Bible actually has something to say about both sides of the coin.
When the temple curtain was torn in two, it really changed everything. This is just a gentle reminder of what that "Everything" is that really changed.
With the news of the UMC attempting to alter the word of God to fit their needs, I ask the question if you are willing to give them up? But I also take us to Ecclesiastes 8 for a parallel look at what is going on in this world.
Ephesians 4:22-24 tells us to renew our minds in Spirit and put off the old self. What does this mean for us? Can we really do it? Yes we can.
Deuteronomy 4:2 tells us to not add to nor take away from the Bible. But the Jews did and it and many, if not all, mainline Christian denominations have done it also. Why do we do this? Isn't the word of God enough?
2 Corinthians 4 finishes with a verse about things seen and unseen. Seeing is believing sometimes, but seeing what we cannot see with our eyes takes faith and that takes us a lot further. Show Note: I will be taking a 1 week break on April 24, 2024. See you again May 3, 2024.
With the eclipse two days behind us, what happens next? Let me give you a hint, the sun will rise and set each day and the word of God will still stand forever. The Eclipse was not God trying to give us a message. He gave us a message in His word. This is also the 200th episode.
We compensate all of the time for physical reasons. Have a sore foot, you will favor the other. But when we compensate for spiritual matters, that is where we may fall short.
Trying to determine the faith of someone can be a slippery slope. Yes, we will know they are Christians by their love and if we see the fruit of the spirit, but all have sinned and fall short of God's glory. Passing judgment on someone is forbidden if we look at appearances only.
December 17, 2023 was a significant day in history. A lightning strike in Argentina could have been a message from God. Was it? Or was it just a "coincidence"?

Have you ever noticed how Daniel chapter 6 (Daniel and the Lion's Den) is a type and shadow of the resurrection of Jesus? The parallels are there and some are quite obvious.
What is your priority? Taking a lesson from his training in computer science, Phil looks at what something with a higher priority in your life other than God will do to your relationship with God.
What is so magical about Disney's Magic Kingdom? My answer is simple, absolutely nothing. Join me as I give my take on a recent trip to Florida and the visit I had to the Magic Kingdom.
In Super Bowl 58, the He Gets Us campaign again ran an add but this time it had several people having their feet washed? So what do you think about washing feet? What about the gospel? Where is the gospel in the commercial. Are we being asked to believe in lies or accept a misrepresentation of Jesus?
What do you do when the bright future and plans you thought you saw God leading you to come crashing down at the hands others? We certainly see this happen a lot in the Bible but what do we do? We turn to the Bible that is what and we wait on God's plan for something new. Romans 8:28
Grab your shovel, this one may get deep. How old is the earth and can we know and more importantly, should we take time to try to know? What is more important than having this knowledge?
Words are important and carry a lot of power. But do we let religion in when we use them? Is it okay to pray in the name of Jesus and not in the name of Elohim? What about pronouns? Yeah, I go there.
You may have heard of the concept of the Law of Attraction, but is this a Biblical Concept? Plain and Simple, NO!! Not even close. But how could it be bad? Tune in to this podcast to find out what I think.
What are the high places in the Bible and why did God demand they be torn down? Do we have high places in our lives? If so, we should tear them down.
Last week, we talked about the word Telios and "ironically" it came up again this week. So we turn to Colossians to further study what God means by perfect.
Was Jesus Perfect? He is God so yes, He is perfect, but what about while He was in human form? That's a little different. But the beauty of the gospel is seen in this question from a listener. We turn to Hebrews 5:7-9 for the answer to the question "Was Jesus Perfect?"
This is the last video for Bible Time.....In 2023. How do we set a course for a new life in 2024? Let me give you a hint, you have to start by giving it to God. Part 2 - how does satan mislead us and how can we avoid his lies.
How many times do we limit ourselves because we don't believe something about ourselves that God believes. We can hold ourselves back without even realizing it. Exposing our insecurities can destroy the power the enemy holds over us. NOTE: I said I was a pastor for 34 years. It's actually 24. I can't count well.
Turning to Psalm 77, we ask the question how long God will you hold back from us? We are limited in our knowledge and understanding compared to what God knows and understands. Created in the image of God, but we are not God.
I take a few minutes to give 3 reasons, no four that you can read any Bible you want and not just KJV only. The number one reason will blow you away. Welcome to Phil's first Top 4
Zephaniah chapter 3 speaks of the people of Jerusalem at a terrible time in the nation of Israel's history. Verse 5 makes the statement that the unrighteous know no shame. Wow, that's a power and scary statement.
It's the day before Thanksgiving in America and I thought it would be a good time to once again talk about Rest In God.
When we pray, who should we talk to? Should we talk to The Father? The Son? or The Holy Spirit? Should we talk differently to each? What do we say? I will answer this question as it comes from a viewer.
I take a break from taking your questions and concerns to throwing out something that bothered me. Stick with me, there is still something to learn from this one.
Is God being cruel in Leviticus 21 when He says no one who is blind, lame or has a defect can present a food offering to Him? Not at all. There are two aspects of this that are often missed. We discuss that today on this episode of Bible Time.
In Mark 6, the Bible says the disciples were straining at the oars. Have you been there? Let me encourage you with this podcast today.
5 years ago on this day, I held a Q&A session on Facebook live and what came later is what you are listening to now. From At The Table to Bible Time and UpLift, it all started 5 years ago.
But also, should we be concerned about the war in Israel? Jesus told us not to worry. So should we worry?
Is burning sage effective in keeping evil spirits out? ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! In fact, all you are doing when you burn sage is inviting others in. This is an occultic practice that opens a door or portal for the enemy to enter your life. Other examples are dream catchers, salt lamps, pyramids and there are other talismans that invite the demonic to your life. You may as well be wearing a sign that says "Come on in and afflict me."
Are boundaries good or bad? It depends on who you ask and when you ask. Many times we like them but when they keep us out, we tend to not like them. But did you know God was the one who created boundaries?
No, not the Extra Terrestrial. But rather the Alef and Tav. These two Hebrew letters appear together twice in the Hebrew Bible and clearly point to Jesus.
What makes for an effective witness of our faith? Does scaring someone with hell make a difference? What did Jesus say to do?
The fisher price playset for Noah's Ark has two of each type of animal, but this is not Biblical according to Genesis 7:2. Tune in today for more information.
Should we take time to try to determine how the end times will play out? Didn't God give us this information so we would know? Yes, and No! He gave it to us yes, but not so we would spend valuable time trying to figure it out. He gave it to us so we would know when the time came. But He wants us growing our relationship with Him until then.
Great question! If Jesus died for all of our sins, do we need to ask for forgiveness? What is the difference between repenting and seeking forgiveness? We talk about that today, on Bible Time.
What does it mean to walk in the flesh or walk in the spirit? Paul gives us a good look at this in 2 Corinthians 10.
How do you look at things from the Bible? Do you approach it with preconceived notions? Or do you let God speak to you? For example, do you see Job as suffering only? It's actually a theological turn around. How do you see things? The way you want or the way God explains it?
After taking a couple weeks off, Phil returns with grumbling and complaining. Why do we feel the need to fix one another and grumble and complain when injustices come our way? Paul tells us in Philippians to work out our salvation with trembling and fear. In other words, let's talk to God.
I used to love to watch re-runs of Giligans Island as a kid. But as I got older, re-runs became annoying. But with a lot going on and the amount of time it takes to produce even one 5-10 minute video, I decided to run a re-run from January 2021. Enjoy Episode 90 from January 15, 2021.
Many believe that the Holy Spirit came for the first time at Pentecost and that this is the birthday of the church. This could not be further from the truth. The Holy Spirit is God and is eternal and has no beginning and no end. So what do we do with this mistake? Tune in to find out.
There are some confusing commandments in the Torah and one of them is from Deuteronomy 22:11. Hopefully after watch this, you will be less confused.
Would you consider taking the time to read the Bible and allow it to change your life? It definitely will if you will put your time and effort into it.
Continuing from last week's discussion on Does God Exist, Phil talks about the evidence of a changed life to prove that God does exist.
Does God exist? Can we prove it? With a question that came to me from God, I talk about that today, on Bible Time.
God desires obedience over sacrifice, but man made religious rules teach us it is our actions that get us closer to God. This could not be further from the truth.
Does the concept of the trinity begin only in the New Testament, No! Tune in to this episode for examples of how God was manifesting His presence in the Old Testament in this episode.
Do we truly surrender all to Jesus? When we do, our lives change. Join Phil for a brief discussion on Surrendering to God.
Salt Lamps are quite the craze lately and years ago I too fell into the trap of believing they had health benefits. We take a lesson from Israel about putting our trust in something that is created and not from the creator.
What's really wrong when we say we are "manifesting" something? We take the glory that God deserves and put it on ourselves. It's also dangerous because we could be working with or teaming with the demonic.
Checkout this teaching on this week's Bible Time.
Would satan ever ask us to do something good for someone so that he can then in turn make that person do something bad?
In Mark chapter 6, there is something that Jesus "cannot do". But He is God, how can there be anything he cannot do? Well, a prophet is without honor in His hometown. Thank you for joining Episode number 150!!!!
In Acts chapter 9, Paul has an amazing conversion experience. So amazing that some people want the same thing. But what we have to realize is God deals with everyone individually and our conversion or "God Experience" may not be like his.
God gives us incredible power and authority for our lives, but we must remember our position. Without Him, we would not have such power so we need to remember to not boldly speak without faith backing up our words or we are in trouble. Intention is one thing, faith is another.
Do we join Jesus in Paradise when we die? or do we wait until the dead in Christ rise first? This question comes from a church member and I do my best to answer a concept we as humans cannot fully understand.
In 1 Corinthians 5, Paul makes it clear that someone openly sinning against God and the church should be removed from the congregation. Paul says to judge that man. But I thought we were told by Jesus to not judge? How can both be true? They can and we will discuss this viewer question on Bible Time today.
Unforgiveness! There are a lot of important things that we need to do in our relationship with God, but the concept of forgiving others ranks up there as one of the most important. I will share a couple of testimonies from my experience that will help
Taking a question from a listener about Ananias and Sapphira from Acts chapter 5, we discuss why they died and how Peter did not judge them in his rebuke.
Did God violate Pharaoh's free will when He hardened Pharaoh's heart in Exodus 9. We need to actually go back and look at Exodus 7 and 8 to get the proper answer. Join me on this question from a listener.
What exactly is blasphemy against the holy spirit and if it is unforgiveable, can a Christian actually do it? The simple answer is no. Listen to this podcast for an explanation of what it is and that will lead you to see why it can't be completed by a Christian.
What is Bibliomancy? Stichmomancy? and Rhabomancy and should we stay away from them? The simple and short answer is 100% yes, but why? We will talk about that today on Bible Time.
Too many people walk around thinking God is mad at them or that God hates them for their sins. YOUR SINS ARE FORGIVEN! if you are in Christ Jesus and we need not dwell on them. Find the balance.
We look to John 4 and the woman at the well, we look at what Jesus may have been seeing and what He said instead of what we think He saw and said. He didn't burn the woman by calling out her husbands, He showed He is who He said He is, the Messiah.
The Holiness of God led to many decisions that we may see as mean or unwarranted. But when we consider who we are and who He is, that changes. If not for grace, we would be destroyed and God would remain Holy. We need to rethink what it means to be a Holy God.
I get passionate about a lot of Biblical teachings, but this one is very near and dear to me. I have never lost a loved one nor a really close friend to suicide so I won't pretend to fully grasp the pain it causes. But I did contemplate it myself once and I was very close. But God stopped me and forced me, yes FORCED me, to contemplate the pain I would cause others. Especially my kids. So I did. I didn't do it and now will never contemplate it ever again. But having been there, I can absolutely relate to someone who has come to this point. If you know someone who has died by suicide, please watch. THEY MAY NOT BE IN HELL! That's a false doctrine and I explain it here. If you are contemplating it or ever have, please watch and GET HELP. God bless you all.
Taking a question from a viewer, Phil discusses what it means in Hebrews 10:13 when Jesus has His enemies as his footstool.
Turning to Revelation 21, we look at the precious stones that are mentioned as the foundation of the city and then discover what unique property they all share. This is a colorful look at something that further proves the legitimacy of the Bible.
Can God regret anything? In 1 Samuel 15, He does and a listener asked me how that is possible so here is the answer.
How is the Bible put together? Well it's complicated but I give an overhead view of how it was done. This is not comprehensive by any means, but does give some knowledge and I of course try to encourage you to read it for yourself too.
Don't Be Fooled! Trust in God and learn His word. Let it transform and shape you so when snake charmers and other church leadership try to dissuade you into conforming to societal standards you can stand firm in the truth you know.

JFK said ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country. What if we asked God what we can do for Him instead of the other way around?

Turning to 2 Peter 3, we discuss what is a long time? The discussion then turns to how is it that we become righteous? We serve a mighty God and a relationship with Him brings incredible freedom.

Happy Anniversary! It was two years ago this week that Bible Time started. I sit down with Romans 4 and talk about how God has given us a gift and we should work for Him not out of obligation but out of love.

The controversial scripture verse from 1 Timothy 2:11-15 takes on a new meaning when you consider Paul was saying wife/wives instead of woman/women in this verse. We break it down and explain also why silent is not really meaning keep your mouth shut. This one is for the women!

I recently came across a quote twice in one day so that made me take notice. Is a church a business? If so, is there anything we can do to change that? Should we change that?

Is there any deeper meaning to the fact that Moses brought forth two sets of stone tablets with the Ten Commandments? This goes beyond the fact surface level fact that the first set was destroyed. There was a divine purpose and symbolism in play.

We take a small dive into the mystery of who Israel is in the Bible and in our world today. This is is not about British or Argentinian Israelism, this is what the Bible says. This is a difficult topic and one that deserves much more attention, but you can get a summary here.

Who are the unrighteous? We will look to 1 Corinthians 6 to dispel a very common tactic of the enemy to get them to give up. You are not in the list in Corinthians 6:9-10 if you are in Christ Jesus.

Transferring of debt is acceptable and maintains good economic health, but canceling debt will destroy an economy. That's why God transferred our debt to Jesus instead of cancelling it completely. We will talk about that today, On Bible Time.

Taking a deep dive into Psalm 23, we look at the number of Hebrew words and the significance of them as they relate to our lives.
Turning to 1 Corinthians 8, we will dig into what knowledge is and keeping a knowledge of who God is. It's easy to forget where you came from but in so doing, you can easily mislead someone.

Trying to downplay the notoriety that the prosperity doctrine is getting lately, Phil discusses how God doesn't owe us anything but any promise He makes, always comes through for us. Do you get mad at God when you don't get your way? Tune into this episode for more on that.
Asking God to reveal to us things of the past can help us grow in the future. Don't neglect the old things.
Asking God to reveal to us things of the past can help us grow in the future. Don't neglect the old things.
Taking a question from a friend, I tackle a difficult passage from 1 Peter 3 and 1 Peter 4. Did Jesus descend to hell? Tune into this episode to see what I have to say.
After returning from a break, we talk about Philippians 3 and Paul's discourse and considering all gains to be nothing compared to knowing Christ and the power of His resurrection.

When a branch is broken from a tree, it will wither and die. When we do not stay connected to the true Vine, our LORD Jesus, we too will wither and either be pruned or die. We talk about that today on BibleTime.
NOTE: I will be taking a few weeks off after this one. Returning later in July.
Matthew speaks of seven mountains in his gospel and it is not by accident. He knew what he was doing. We will discuss them today and what they mean.
Taking another question from a viewer we turn to 1 Corinthians 5 and Matthew 7 to talk about what Jesus and Paul both meant in respect their statements on Judging. This is one that will make you think.
I take a question from a listener but it is not a subject I readily tackle. This one will upset a lot of people when they hear what I have to say. There is no pre-tribulation rapture. Tune in for more.
Philippians 4:13 is a popular verse often taken out of context. Some feel they can have super human strength because God provides it. God has shown where He will do this but not always. We take a look at what Paul was saying in context and discuss what it means to be strengthened by Christ.
In John chapter 16, Jesus gives his disciples a warning-Bad times are coming. But then he finishes by telling them that He has overcome the world. When someone comes against us or drags our name through the mud, it can hurt. But God knows the truth. Knowing that God knows can help us be patient and fight that desire to fight back and right what was wronged. It's hard, but when we let God fight our battles, we will always win. A very personal testimony from Phil today.
We live in a fast food world. We have been trained to get things immediately. Credit checks now take seconds instead of days. Movies can be seen the day of release and not in theatres. But there is amazing beauty in waiting on God and in this episode we explore how long God waited to fulfill one promise. Be glad you don't have to wait as long as that promise.
Have you ever felt like you were just stuck? You've prayed, but God doesn't seem to answer. You've asked and asked for Him to use you, but you are still stuck. We turn to James 4 for some advice about how to become unstuck.
Service means many things to many people, but today, we will see what the BIble says about service and talk about how we may be looking at it the wrong way.
When we grow in our relationship with God, we often start telling others that thy "Should", but this can be dangerous. When we "should" on our friends, we can drive them away. Teaching and leading others to God is awesome but we must do it with love. It is not now, never has been, and never will be our job to lead others to conviction. That is the job of the Holy Spirit. If we don't lead with love, we are not doing God's work as much as we may think we are.

Onward to Philippians 3 beginning with verse 13. Onward, not looking behind. That is what Paul teaches us. Too many of us live with regrets. Sure, we make mistakes, but we should not live with Regret. God wants us to move forward to the prize of being like Jesus. No looking back.
Many times we listen to what we are taught or we think we know what the Bible says and may miss something, even if we read it multiple times. It's important to read carefully because we may miss out on something. The Bible is alive and God will help us come to a better understanding of it if we let Him. We will turn to Matthew 21 to learn more.
The Bible speaks of angels in 34 of the 66 books. That's over half of the books of the Bible. Yet, we tend to shy away from things we don't know alot about. I believe it is time to start acknowledging the amount of importance angels play in our lives. We will talk about that today, on Bible Time.
Our pasts do not define us. Too many people feel they cannot outrun their past, but they don't need to. Our pasts do not define us. They do not alter us. They are far from us. Seize this day and move forward with the knowledge that God has freed you from the past.
It's our 100th episode and we talk about Zecheriah 4:10 when God spoke about small beginnings and to not forsake them. A small reflection on the small beginning that was and still is, Bible Time.
Is it possible to displease God with our sins? That's a loaded question. The problem with it is that it focuses on the negative aspects of life, aka sin. Instead, we should ask how can we please God. When we take our negatives and make them positives, our lives shift for the good.
We turn to Psalm 139 to springboard into a discussion on finding one's purpose. This is a good one.
Jesus gave us just two commandments to follow. Love the Lord and love your neighbor. But we too often forget about the love your neighbor part or we don't understand. There are many divisive matters right now in the body of Christ and none of them should divide us but one is more than others and that is the vaccine. But why? Why do we let it divide us? We will talk about that today, On Bible Time.
In John Chapter 15, Jesus talks about pruning branches that don't produce fruit. With an interesting story from his past, Phil explains how being pruned by God is a very good thing. We all have things in our lives that can be pruned. When we no longer are producing fruit, it means we have somehow become disconnected from the true vine. God will prune us, not to harm us, but to help us grow.

Hebrews refers to Jesus as a mediator. A mediator goes between the judge and the defendant and pleads the case to the judge. That's what Jesus is for us. But this mediator brings with Him a great promise. We no longer have to be scorned and feel bad for our sins because we can rest assured Jesus has paid the full price for us. This may be review for some, but it is spiritual food that is worthy of hearing again and again.

What if the consequences of sin were immediate? What if we died the second we committed a sin? Wow, let that one sink in. Well because it is not, satan has his way with us. We talk about that by discussing John 18:28 and going to Acts and Genesis too in order to make the point. Hopefully after listening to this one you will rethink the consequences of sin.

Bible Time 93, as we creep up on the monumental 100th episode of Bible Time, I want to remind everyone of the importance of Love. That four letter word that we all claim to know and have, yet so many speak for God and have not love. We turn to 1 Corinthians 13 for Paul's reminder that if I have the gift of prophecy and all the knowledge of the world but have not love, I am nothing.
I recount a personal story and an item I recently saw and facebook in this "loving" gentle reminder that we need to let God work through us in Love.

"My people perish for lack of knowledge..." Words spoken by God through the prophet Hosea and something we should understand today. In our culture, we have adapted a couple of philosophies. One is the I know it all because I have studied the Word. We will talk about that another time. But the one we will talk about today is the "This is calming me" mentality. Do Crystals calm you? Can burning sage drive out evil spirits? I will explain just exactly what is going on in the Spiritual world when you burn sage or meditate over crystals. You may be a little shocked to know the truth, but the truth will set you free.
