In today’s episode, Ashley Beaudin, is sharing her knowledge on breaking away from self-sabotage and owning our creativity. In this interview, Ashley defines self-sabotage for us and shows us how it manifests in creative people. Ashley explains that with creativity comes vulnerability, causing creative people to put their whole selves into their work and share it with the world. Our identity as creative people can be wrapped up and blended in our work. Hear about Ashley's personal journey of self-sabotage and what it looked like for her to recover and face the pain it was growing from. Ashley emphasizes that even though our ways of self-sabotage are different, we all have an underlying fear or pain that is at the root. She encourages you to find those roots of pain to work through them and watch how your art changes as you heal.

Early in 2019 I had a case of the blechs. I was going through a lot of transitions and personal struggles. I needed a change of perspectives and the 100 Day Project was the kickstart I needed. For 100 Days I took a photo of something beautiful in my day and then wrote about what I was grateful for. It was the perfect injection of joy in my life that I desperately needed. Listen in on today's episode to learn how I used this project to change my outlook on life to find more joy and celebrate it.

We have to dive deep, fast, and be vulnerable to create a community as an expat. Even if you aren’t an expat, it can feel difficult to find and create community where you live. In this interview, Denise from Taking Route explains that there are a lot of reasons to be worried about making friends but we need to risk being rejected in order to create community. She shares her own experiences as an expat, who had to take the risk of being rejected in order to make lasting friendships. This can be a big project, so I want my students to be prepared to be successful at it and any other big project they tackle. To help you get started I have created a 5 day instagram challenge with prompts similar to the course prompts. 5 photography and 5 journaling prompts that will help you tell the story of your home, neighborhood and city. This is great practice for following through on a big challenge or project and a great sampling from the course. This week is another very important and special episode. I want this podcast to keep shining lights on women who are doing incredible things for the world and this episode is the perfect example of that. This week I am interviewing my, in real life, friend Abby. We taught a Zumba class together in Korea and I fell in love with her and her sweet family. They are kind, generous, selfless and oh so creative! Abby shares all about the creative process when it comes to expressing your creativity through dance. Her wisdom and words transcend all art forms and will inspire you to break a little more free in your creative work and be bold in your self expression. know I say this every week, but this is truly one of my favorite episodes ever. I love being able to elevate and celebrate the real life women in my own life who are doing amazing things and have invaluable knowledge and skills to share. Jennifer Bilton and Karen Gaunt make absolute magic with mixed media and are able to create works of art with materials. We're kind of in awe of them.
