Hey friends!

Hope you're all healthy and well!

REALLY excited to share this conversation with you.

This episode was with my friend and someone I now refer to as the "millionaire mindset next door" Johnson Tran. šŸ˜Ž

Johnson and I had a fantastic conversation,
starting with his humble beginnings as a first generation Vietnamese American coming out of a tough upbringing in Houston to being unofficially retired by 36.

He laid out for us the simple money principles his Dad taught him as a young boy that he used to build a life he loves living every day.

Johnson now spends his time with his family and as a sales executive, and he lives by some of the most contagious statements and principles:
*"Be Happy You're 6 Foot Above & Get to Enjoy a Cup of Coffee Today!"

"Do what you love because you can, rather than do what you dread because you are broke."

"Every morning take a bite of humble pie, wash it down with a glass of humility, check ego at the door, and put narcissism in the trash."*

His philosophy on life is the title of this episode, here in his words:

"I plead the F.I.F.T.H.- Faith, Integrity, Family, Time & Health are the only things I care about, and if those are great then life's awesome" -Johnson Tran

I wish I had known Johnson many years ago,
he is a wealth of knowledge and an incredible story teller!

Hope something in this conversation challenged and encouraged you.

Please feel free to share this with someone you know that you think could benefit from this!

Hey friends!

Welcome back to another guest filled episode. šŸ˜Ž

This week I had my friend Anthony Rocca on the podcast.
Anthony has a wild story of health and healing, going from hospitalized at 85lbs, with a crippling diagnosis and close to dead, to now thriving, strong and healthy just a few years later.

We talked about his journey of healing himself outside of the conventional medical system, his advice to those who are sick and seeking answers, the things he's done to figure out the right diet for himself, and the importance of not giving up and continuing to try things and do the work to heal.

Anthony has an inspiring story and has done the work to get to where he is today in his health journey.

One thing that I am super passionate about is us having control over our own health and not outsourcing it to a broken modern health system.

This conversation is filled with great insights for anyone who is seeking or already on their own journey of healing and taking control of their own personal health.

You can't have a thriving life if you don't have thriving health.

Hope something in this episode was helpful or insightful for you or someone you know.

Thanks for listening!

Talk soon, God bless.

Hey friends!

This weeks episode was inspired by a conversation with my Dad last week where we were talking about being strategic in making decisions.

Lets be honest, we all struggle at times to make the best decisions for ourselves and we often wish we could go back and make different decisions in hindsight.
In the moment it can often be hard to make decisions that are strategic for the future as we are often making quick, emotion driven decisions.
That being said, in this episode I wanted to talk about why I think this is so important, how I've seen it go wrong, and some things I've put in place for myself to ensure that I'm making the best decisions for myself, short and long term.

Please hear me, I don't have this all figured out, I still make terrible decisions in certain moments and often act first and think second.
I'm on the journey with you and just want to share my heart and things that I''ve personally found helpful along the way.

Hope something here helped you or someone you know.
Feel free to share it around with someone that could benefit.

Thanks so much for listening.

Talk soon, God bless.

Hey friends!

Have you ever heard the phrase "Your inputs determine your outcomes?"
While I agree with this in many ways, I think a key factor that is often missed in life is our attitude.
I believe that one of the main factors in our happiness and fulfillment in life is our attitude.
So in this weeks episode I wanted to talk about how our Attitude determines our outcomes.

Our attitude effects the majority of our experience in life and our ability or lack thereof to have a positive attitude will greatly impact our outcomes in life.

As someone who had a very negative attitude for years, and now works really hard to have a positive attitude, I can attest to the massive difference our attitude has on our lives and the lives of those around us.

I really hope something here struck you and was helpful for you or someone you know.

Please feel free to share this with someone who you think needs to hear it.

Thanks so much for taking the time to listen, y'all are great!

Hey friends!

Know I haven't had a guest on in awhile so super excited to be back with a guest!

Really enjoyed this conversation with my friend and hip hop artist Derrick Jewell aka Whyte-out.

Derrick and I met many years ago when we were making music and doing shows in Colorado.
Derrick is an incredibly talented artist and has worked with artists like Twista, Jellyroll, Rittz, Krayzie Bone from Bone Thugs n Harmony and a lot more!

In this conversation we got deep,
Derrick talked about his addictions and vices and how he came to a point where he had to choose to change for himself and his kids.
As a father of 5 kids he realized that the #1 thing he needed to do in his life was be a loving and present father to his kids.
We talked about the current culture and their desire to be rich and famous vs authentic and genuine.
Several times we touched on the subject of accountability and realizing that everything in your life, good or bad is something you need to take accountability and ownership for.
When you realize that you are the only one responsible for your life, you are able to take ownership and change it.
Derrick has an awesome perspective around accountability and what it takes to pull yourself out of the mud and the darkness in life and make a change.

I really, really enjoyed catching up and getting to have what I believe was a super meaningful conversation here!

Hope you were inspired or challenged by something you heard.
Please feel free to share this with someone you think this could be helpful for.

As always, thank you for spending your time listening to me.
I know there are endless ways you could spend your time and I'm grateful that you choose to spend some of it with me.

Talk soon, God bless.

Hey friends!

It is election season in America, and you know what that means...

Anger, arguments, division and overall a lack of unity and ability to see those we disagree with as human.

In my opinion, if we were all able to calmly listen and communicate with one another, we would find that 99% of us all want the same things.
Freedom to speak and do as we please, systems of money, healthcare and government that will work for us and to protect us, politicians that will fight for us and make decisions based on whats in our best interest and on and on.
We all want to live happy, healthy and free lives and be protected from anything that would harm us or our loved ones.
The issue then is not that we disagree on having these things, the major things we disagree on are typically HOW to achieve these.

In todays episode I wanted to talk about how I believe we can work on being more united during times like this and how to handle hot topics and communicate maturely and effectively so that we are able to listen, understand and move towards resolution with those we disagree with and not division.

If we can be mature and listen to understand and show those we disagree with that we care about them even when we don't agree, I truly believe we can change the trajectory of our nation and society.

Hope you are encouraged and challenged by this episode like I was.

Please share this with someone you think needs to hear this.

Thanks so much for giving me your time and listening to what I have to say, it's humbling and I'm truly grateful.

Hey friends,

Hope you're all healthy and thriving!

This week I wanted to just unpack some of my thoughts and personal focuses recently around the way I spend my time and how I evaluate the things I'm doing that are moving the ball forward in my life.

Here's the reality, we're all busy.

We live in a busy society that tells us we need to always be going to achieve what we want in life, I've bought into this as well in life and filled my days with busyness.

But the more I live the more I'm convinced its not about how much you do but WHAT you do, which means we need to make sure we are not just moving fast but slowing down and being more intentional with WHAT we are doing and how we are spending our time, energy and resources.

Hence the title "Slow down to speed up."

It's not about moving fast, but more about being intentional with spending our time and energy on the right things that have the greatest impact.

This is a huge focus for me in 2024 as I not only want to achieve a lot in life but I want to do it at a sustainable and enjoyable pace.

I want to be intentional with how I spend my moments and my energy and it starts with just being aware of where we are spending our resources.

Hope something here was helpful for you or someone you know.

Please feel free to share this with someone you think needs to hear this.

Thanks so much for taking the time to tune in, truly grateful for all of you!

Talk soon, God bless

Hey friends,

Welcome back to another episode, I'm FIRED UP!

You and I have believed a LIE and I want to expose it and speak out against it.

The lie comes in many forms but they tell us that we weren't made to be great.
The lies say that we aren't good enough, pretty enough, talented enough, that we should be average, don't be too disruptive, you can't change the world etc, ALL LIES!

We were all created uniquely withe potential to make a huge difference and change the world, the enemy doesn't want us to believe that but its the truth.

For many years of my life I have believed lies about myself and you probably have too.
It's time to fight back with the truth and be reminded that you are capable of amazing things and were born to something incredible!

THAT IS THE TRUTH.

Hope this encouraged you and reminded you of y our potential.

Please feel free to share this with someone else who needs to hear it.

Thanks so much for listening, God bless!

Ayo,

Happy new year friends!

It's pretty wild how fast the time passes in life but here we are.

Hope you're all healthy and well and ready for a year of growth and blessings.

For the first episode of the year I wanted to touch on something that I feel is frequently overlooked, especially as a year ends and everyone is planning for how to do more and be better in the next.

I want to talk about recognizing the progress you're making in life and being PROUD of yourself and how far you've come in life.

It's very easy for most of us to focus on the gap between where we are and where we want to be in the future.
We can easily feel like we're not doing enough, we're not good enough, or we're so far behind etc.

But how about for a second we focus on the gap between where we've been and where we are now.
The truth is, if you zoom out far enough you are probably much further ahead than you used to be and you are most likely making a TON more progress than you feel like, as a person, in your mindset and learnings and I'm sure a bunch of other areas for you.

This thought sparked in me the other day when I was looking through my safe for some paperwork on a car I recently bought and I stumbled onto my binder I kept through my time in rehab in 2015.

I spent some time looking through it and was shocked by how much I've grown and changed since then, it was pretty drastic.

This got me thinking, bc if you asked me on a random day I would tell you I feel behind and like I'm not making as much progress as I should be, or I would tell you I'm far from where I want to be in life and I have so much more to do.

Bc most of us are wired to focus on where we're not vs where we are, I think it's important to take the time to look back and acknowledge the progress we have made and are making, otherwise we will just feel like we're never enough and that can be frustrating and discouraging.

The truth is, we're all doing much better than we think even if our lives aren't exactly where we want them to be.

Give yourself credit for where you are, how much you've grown and learned and BE PROUD of yourself!

You deserve it.

Hope something here will be encouraging and inspiring for you.

Please feel free to share this with someone who needs to hear it.

Thanks for taking the time to listen to me, grateful for each one of you.

Talk soon, God bless!

Hey y'all!

This weeks episode may be a bit convicting for some and I hope it is, it was for me too.

I'm talking about the pain of staying the same vs the pain of changing.
We all have areas of our lives we want to improve or we just aren't satisfied with where our lives are at and we want it to change.

That's a great starting point, wanting more and not being fully satisfied with where we're at, but the problem is, too often we choose to stay in the place we're at bc it's more comfortable than doing the hard work and going through the pain of actually changing.

The reality is, if you stay where you are, and don't go through the pain and discomfort required to get to where you want to go you will eventually still have to deal with the pain of being in the same place you're in now, but now you've experienced that pain twice.
Once when you realized you didn't like where you were and again when you never changed and still have to experience.

Life is painful and uncomfortable, you just have to choose which pain you'd prefer, the pain of change?
Or the pain of regret and staying the same?

One will be uncomfortable but moves you toward where you want to be and the other just keeps you miserable, but you have to choose.

Hope this was motivating for you or someone you know.
Please feel free to share it with someone you think needs to hear this.

Thanks so much for taking the time to listen and support herre, means so much to me.

Hope you're all healthy and well!

Talk soon, God bless

Hey friends, hope all of you are healthy and well.

Let's get right into it, here's my thought.

I don't know about you but I have gotten SO MUCH advice in my life from all kinds of people, especially the people close to me.
While this can be a good thing, this week I wanted to talk about why I believe you actually need to listen to less advice from the people around you, not more.

Most people are giving you advice from a genuinely good place but most often they are telling you what they would do if they were in your shoes.

The problem with that is they aren't in your shoes.
They don't have your goals and dreams,
and they can't see your vision for your life.
Because of this, they may be giving you advice that is actually not going to help you fulfill your vision for yourself and your life and get you to where you need to be.

In this episode I wanted to share my thoughts and my own experiences around learning how to not listen to the advice of even the people closest to me at times.
It's not easy but you have to take control of your life and not always do what others want you to do if you actually want to fulfill the vision you have.
Part of that journey is being misunderstood by others.

Hope something here is helpful to you or someone you know.

Please fr=eel free to share this with someone you think this could help.

Grateful for all of you taking hte time to listen.

Talk soon, God bless!

Hey friends!

I've had a wild past week, from wrecking my car to thinking I killed my sisters cat, I'm glad it's over, haha.

In this episode I wanted to share what all happened the past week, what I learned and the framework I think through when adversity and hard times hit, as they inevitably will.

There are very few things promised in life but adversity and struggle are a few of those things we WILL face over and over.

Learning how to face hard times and move through them is critical and having a framework from which to operate has been a game changer for me in my own life.

Hope that some of the thoughts and things I share here are helpful for you or someone you know.

This week I wanted to share the story if the business I started and shut down 12 months later.

In 2020 I saw and opportunity to start a business and I went for it.

In this episode I share the story of it all, what I learned, what I would change if I could go back and my thoughts on why there is no such thing as failure when you take action, you win or you learn.

Hope you enjoy the story and learn from my experiences.

Hey friends!

This weeks episode I unpack why I think it's important to be able to filter the opinions and advice we get from other people.

ā€œDon't listen to other people's opinions" is pretty typical advice that gets spread around.

But why shouldn’t we listen to them?

Are they stupid or trying to hurt us?

Are they always garbage opinions?

Probably not, I think there’s more to it.

I believe the reason we should often ignore the opinions of others isn’t because they have bad intentions, it’s because their opinions often lack education and context.

Most people are not trying to give bad advice or steer us in a wrong direction, they simply haven’t put in the thought, research, and mental and emotional energy that we have to come to a decision.

It’s impossible for someone who is not you to have all of the context on the thoughts and ideas that go into your decision making process.

Therefore peoples opinions on what you should do will often not align with your internal desires or feelings that you’ve processed.

So most of the time we need to use wisdom and discernment when it comes to who we take advice from and when we take that advice.

There is wisdom in a multitude of counsel, but don’t let that idea become you relieving yourself of your ultimate responsibility to make final decisions and be responsible for those decisions.

Others only have so much context on what we want and need.

People aren’t trying to harm you, they just lack context, don’t hold that against them and also don't overly weigh their opinions.

Be wise, filter advice and opinions through a strict lens, and take action based on what you believe is best, even if it isn’t aligned with the opinions of people you care about.

You get 1 life.

Your choices are up to you.

You have to make the final decisions in your life, choose wisely.

Blessings.

Hey friends, hope you're all healthy and well!

This week I am coming in HOT with an episode on red meat and some of my thoughts on why red meat is under such attack in the US.

Although it’s one of the most nutrient dense foods on the planet, for some reason recently red meat has been more and more demonized,
although we know for a fact it is one of the most nutritious foods humans can consume.

We’ve been eating it for 1,000’s of years all over the world and it has sustained life and allowed humans to thrive.

The recent Harvard study that says red meat can be ā€œassociatedā€ with higher risk of diabetes is straight propaganda.

That’s a perfect example of correlation not causation.

Keep in mind a large # of those people in the study, smoked,
had a diet full of ultra processed foods,
and were sedentary,
just to name a few of their other health related issues that ACTUALLY lead to diabetes.

Here are some of the nutrients we get from red meat:

Protein - needed to grow and repair cells and keep your body working regularly.

Iron - necessary for transportation of oxygen in the blood

Zinc - critical for immune function, wound and sickness healing and DNA synthesis

B12 - essential for nerve function and production of red blood cells

Selenium: an antioxidant mineral that plays a role in protecting cells from damage.

Phosphorus: important for bone health, energy metabolism, and the synthesis of DNA.

Creatine: plays a role in energy production, brain health and muscle repair

Vitamin A: essential for vision, immune function, and skin health.

Vitamin D: important for bone health, immune function, and overall well-being.

Magnesium: involved in many physiological processes, muscle and nerve function, blood glucose control, bone health.

Potassium: an electrolyte that helps regulate fluid balance, muscle contractions, and nerve signals.

The ā€œexpertsā€ agree that these are good things so why would red meat then be bad if it contains them? Doesn’t make logical sense.

Don’t listen to the propaganda.

If mainstream institutions are telling you what to do with your health, you should most likely do the opposite.

Eat red meat, exercise and don’t trust the government or the higher education indoctrination institutions.

Stay safe out there šŸ˜ŽšŸ¤

Hey friends!

That title might have throw you off, so here's some more context...
Recently I've been super frustrated with where I'm at in certain areas of my life bc I'm not where I want to be.
I feel like my back is against the wall in several situations and I'm being forced to take action and go to the next level of my own personal growth and development.
This isn't a bad thing, I think anytime you are seeking to grow and level up in life things will seek to hold you back and make it difficult to go to that next level.
These are the times when we need to embrace the hard, get a little pissed off and take action to continue pushing through to the next level and where we know we ultimately need and want to go.
We all have choices to make in life and many times our choices will be driven by us finding ourselves in situation and circumstances that we don't like and we know we need to change.

In this episode I really just processed some of the feelings I'm experiencing currently and some of my thoughts and strategies around what that is and what I'm doing about it.

Don't cheat yourself out of things in life, it's supposed to be hard, we're supposed to feel challenged and like our back is against the wall.
Take action and do the work to break through to the next level, don't let the hard hold you back, we've got this.

Hope something here was insightful or helpful in some way.

If it was, please share it with someone you think may need it.

Thanks so much for listening, I'm super grateful!

Talk soon, God bless.

Hey friends!

Welcome back to another episode of Inside The Mirror.

In this weeks episode I wanted to touch on a topic I've been challenged on the past few years and something I feel is important for all of us to focus on.

I'll start with a question, are you nice to the people around you, or are you kind?

I've learned there can be a big difference between the two.

Being nice is easy and usually involves keeping the peace with people and not necessarily saying the things that need to be said, just to remain comfortable and to avoid confrontation.

Being kind on the other hand requires telling people the truth, even when it's uncomfortable because that's what is best for them.
We often have a choice between the two and I know I personally tend to lean towards just being nice many times because I don't want conflict or I don't want others to think I'm being mean or difficult.

Being kind means telling the truth, even when it hurts or is uncomfortable.

Let's be honest, being nice is easier but being kind is usually what is more helpful to people, and often people prefer that you tell them the truth and help them even if it's uncomfortable in the moment.

Loving people means we care about them enough to get uncomfortable and do the hard thing if it's best for them.

I'm by no means perfect at this, it's something I'm constantly working on and challenging myself in because I want to be the best I can for the people I care about.

Hope something in this episode is helpful or makes you think.

If it is or you know someone who should hear this, please feel free to share it.

Thanks so much for listening, grateful for all of you.

Talk soon, God bless.

Hey y'all!

I've been thinking a lot recently about how serious I take everything in life, even the things that are somewhat meaningless.

We all have things in our lives that we stress about and spend a lot of time or energy on that ultimately just aren't as important in the long run as they may feel in the moment.

I want to learn to be able to hold things more loosely and not take things so seriously if they really won't be that important in 50 or years when i come to the end of my life.

I want to be able to gauge what's super important and what is more inconsequential when it comes to how I exert my time and energy.

Hope some of these thoughts are helpful or spur you on to think more about it.

Please feel free to share this with someone you think this could be helpful to.

As always, thanks for listening and supporting, appreciate you tons!

Hey y'all!

Been thinking a lot about how my personal growth affects the people around me and the people I influence so wanted to talk through some of that in this weeks episode.

I think many times in life we only think about our personal growth as affecting us and our lives, but what we may not realize is that our personal growth directly affects the lives of those around us, our families, friends, coworkers etc etc.

When we are not growing and becoming better, we can hold those around us back.
The people in our circle are watching us and when we aren't growing they will pick up on our lack of growth and it can influence them negatively.

Also, when we aren't becoming better we aren't able to show up at our fullest capacity and potential which can also hold back the people around us that we have the opportunity to influence.

We have a responsibility to ourselves and the people around us to always be growing and being an example of what it looks like to be the best you can be.

If you aren't striving to be the best you can be, the people around you will be affected, when you are they will also be affected.

The goal here is not perfection but progress, be the example you would want to have and hold yourself to a high standard, for yourself and others, you won't regret it.

Thanks so much for listening. If this was helpful please feel free to share it with someone you think it could help.

Appreciate you tons!

Hey friends!

This week I wanted to talk about something that has been top of mind for me the past week and I've had multiple conversations about it.

The idea is living with excellence.

Excellence is the quality of being outstanding or extremely good at something.

We live in a time where we glorify the achievements of celebrities and sports stars and business people who accomplish grand things, but what about the rest of us who have things every day that we have the opportunity to be excellent at?

What about the conversations with people at the grocery store, your interaction with your neighbors, the way you clean your kitchen or sweep your floors?

Excellence is not just large, grandiose things, we have an opportunity to be excellent in everything that we do in life.

I don't know about you but I want to be remembered as someone who is excellent at all things, even the small things.

In this episode I shared my thoughts around what excellence looks like, how we can do things excellently and what we receive when we do.

Hope something here was helpful. If so please share it with someone you think it could help.

Thanks so much for listening!

Hey friends!

in this week's episode I wanted to talk about an idea and a way of living that has helped me SOOO much when it comes to how I approach life and how I manage my days and my stress.

It's the idea of living one day at a time.

We've all heard that and probably agree with it in theory but are we actually living our lives just one day at a time?
Or are we stuck living in the past with all of the things we can't change, or the future worrying about all of the future worries and problems that we can't change or fix today?

I find myself in both places often, reminiscing over the past and what I would have done differently or in the future worrying about what it will look like and what problems I need to avoid or plan full now.

Neither is leading me towards more peace, joy or fulfillment...

In this episode I shared some of the top ways I think we can practically help ourselves live more presently, one day at a time, letting the past be the past and allowing the problems of the future to not weigh us down in the present.

Hope something here was helpful to you. Please feel free to share it with someone you think it could be helpful for.

Thanks for listening and for all of the support, I'm super grateful

Talk soon, God bless!

Hey friends!

Today's episode is on a topic I have and still struggle with at times, letting my feelings run my life.

One of my favorite quotes about feelings is from Jonathan Pokluda.
He says, "your feelings are real, just not reliable."
I've found this to be so true in life and you may have too.

If I don't feel like exercising so I choose not to, over time I will become unhealthy.
If I don't feel like paying my bills bc they're too expensive, eventually I will not have anything.

The point here is just because you feel a certain way doesn't mean that's a good barometer for wise decision making, it's more than often not.

We have to learn to process our feelings, seek wisdom and make decisions based on what is true and best for us, not just how we fell in a given moment.

Wisdom is doing what's right even when you may not feel like it because you know it's best.

Hope something here was helpful for you or someone you know.

Thanks for taking the time to listen!

Until next time, God bless!

Hey friends!

Lately I've been thinking a lot about the things I run to when life is difficult or uncomfortable, I've been asking myself, "what are the things I seek comfort in?"
Are they good for me?Ā
Are they harmful?Ā
Should I change them?

We all run to certain things when life or situations get hard or uncomfortable, it's normal and natural.
The question is are we running to the right things or are we running to things we probably shouldn't?

Today I shared some of my thoughts and my experience running to the wrong things and also the right things.

Hope something here makes you think and helps you.

Please share this with someone it could potentially be helpful for.

Thanks for tuning in and sharing your time, deeply grateful for you.

Hey friends!

This week wanted to share something that I was told by a leader in my life that has really helped me relax a lot more mentally, at work and with different seasons and decisions in life.

The idea is that of the light post.
When runners are training and get tired they will often make their intention to run to the next light post ahead.
There will then stop, rest and decide where to go from there.

The idea is that when we don't have clear timelines on things in life we will often ruminate over and over in our heads about what to do.
"Should I do this or that?" or
"what if this or what if that."
These types of questions and constant thoughts can distract us from being as effective as we should be with our current roles and responsibilities.

So the idea is to set a light post for when you are going to stop, rest, look around and see if you want top keep going in the same direction or change course.

I'd be curious to hear what light post you are going to set for yourself in an area of life.

Hey friends!

Back this week with something that has been top of mind for me on my journey of looking to always improve and live a life I am proud of.

The thing I've been thinking about is why do we do things we don't want to do or don't do the things we do want to do and how do we reverse that?

What I've found most helpful for myself when it comes to making the right decisions is to focus on the end result and not how I feel in the moment.
Often times we don't do things we should bc we don't "feel like it" in the moment so we let that feeling dictate our decisions.

If we are able to think through the end result of that task or activity, and really feel how it will feel when we accomplish that thing, it's much easier to then let your decisions be driven by the end result that you want.

That same thing works for not doing things you don't want to do.
When you are temped to do something you know you shouldn't do, think through how you will feel when you do that.
Will it bring you shame? Guilt? Embarrassment? Anger?
If you don't want to experience those feelings, let those end results drive your decision making process.

If we only focus on how we feel in the moment we will make short term decisions that we will later regret.

If we are able to focus on the end result and make decisions according to that we will achieve more of what we want and live a life that we can be proud of..

Hope something here was helpful, please share it with someone you think could benefit from hearing this.

Thanks so much for listening!

God bless.

Hey friends!

Hope you're all doing great.

Today I wanted to talk about something that life has taught me the past few years that I'm still learning.
What I've started to realize is that I can't do it alone.

You and I were not created to just live life alone and isolate, moving through it with just ourselves as our guide, that's a hard an impossible task.
We were created to live in community and exist together and learn from one another.
Life is already hard enough but trying to do it all on your own can be crippling.

Leaning into others and not doing it alone can be hard, uncomfortable and really unpleasant at first when its not what we are used to .

But ultimately all of the things we want, desire and should have in life happen when we are in relationships with others, learning from and growing with them, not trying to do it all on our own, that will take you a lifetime and you still wont have it figured out.

If you're isolated and trying to do it on your own I have a lot of compassion for you, I've been there.
But please realize that doing it all on your own is the worst thing for you.
Nothing truly fulfilling happens alone.

Hope something here was helpful for you or someone you know.

Thanks so much for taking the time to listen.

Talk soon, God bless.

Ayo!

Welcome back friends, I'm super passionate about what we're talking about today bc I think so many of us need to hear it, and it's this, "You're doing better than you think."

Most of us are doing much better in life than we think we are. We are our own worst critic and we tend to be super unkind to ourselves in the way we think and speak about ourselves.

The reality is, most of us are doing the best we can with the information and circumstances we have.

So today I wanted to unpack this a little, give some practical tips to help that I'm using and just encourage you to lighten up on yourself because

YOU ARE DOING BETTER THAN YOU THINK.

Hope this was helpful, if so, please share it with someone you think needs to hear it.

Thanks so much for listening!

Hey friends!

Welcome to back to us all, lol. Know I've been off for two weeks so excited to get back into it with this episode.

This comes from something I've been thinking through the last few days personally and thought would be helpful to share here as I'm sure I'm not the only one who needs to hear this,.

Here it is, We don't need more motivation.

We have access to unlimited amounts of motivation through, Youtube, Podcasts, Social Media, etc.

If we're not where we want to be in a certain area of life, the answer is not to just go get motivated, the answer is a clear plan.

As my Dad always says, "you aim for nothing you're sure to hit it."

Your plan is the roadmap to what you want, if you follow it, it will lead you to the treasure, your job is to find the right plan and execute on it.

Motivation is great but it's fleeting and doesn't necessarily lead anywhere.

A plan is the blueprint for what you want, if you can pair that with strong motivation and execution you will be in a great spot!

Hope this was helpful, if so, please share it with someone who you think it could help.

Thanks for listening!

Talk soon, God bless.

Hey friends!

I've been thinking a lot recently about how I treat myself, and honestly, I'm not very kind to me most of the time.

Don't know about you but I really don't want to be so harsh to myself but it's become such a normal way of behavior that I rarely even think about it.

Today I wanted to talk about how we treat ourselves and why it's so important.
Ā I believe there's no one we should treat better than ourselves.

If we aren't able to care for the 1 person we are responsible for forever (us) how are we ever going to know how to truly treat others well?

I know it's not easy for most of us, but we need to be intentional with the way we treat, speak and act towards ourselves, if we don't treat us well, we can't expect others to do it for us.

Hope something here was helpful, if it was, please share it with someone who needs to hear it.

Hey friends!

In today's episode I ask the question that we should all contemplate at some point, "What is our WHY?"

By this I mean, Why do we do the things we do, what drives us?

I've found that without a deep Why that drives my intentions its very difficult to sustain through hard and challenging times.
We must be clear on WHY we do what we do, whether that's our jobs, relationships, dreams, goals etc, WHY do those things matter to us, WHY are they important?

Knowing our why will help us stay grounded through the good and the bad, bc it reminds us of what our intentions are for doing that thing in the first place.

I shared some of my why in this episode and if you don't know yours, I would encourage you to spend some time really thinking about it and putting something down that you can look back to and remind yourself of.

Hope something I'm learning here is helpful, feel free to share it with someone you thin could benefit from this.

Hey friends!

Quick question for you,

Who is the person that you always compare yourself to?

Who do you look at on social media and wish you had their money, their looks, their career, their relationships, their following etc?

We all have specific people that we compare ourselves to and our lives to.

Most all of us realize this is unhealthy but we do it anyways.

It makes us feel like we are behind and need to get the things this person has or be at the place that this person is at.

I get it. I compare myself constantly to people I look up to online.

But recently it has really bothered me that I do this for several reasons:
1. it doesn't make me feel good and
2. I want a healthy comparison, not an unhealthy one.

What I've realized is the greatest comparison I can make is to myself,
to previous versions of me.

Doing this has helped me see that I'm actually making a TON of progress in life and I'm headed towards what I want.

If you compare yourself to previous versions of you, you will quickly realize you are actually making more progress than you thought!

We should be the only person we are trying to keep up with.

Keep growing and being better than you were yesterday and you will always win.

Hope something here was helpful, if so, please share it with someone who it could help.

Thanks so much for listening.

Hey friends!

This episode was inspired by a thought that's been swirling around my head a lot the past week or so.

The thought is this, we will never have things all figured out in life.

We are all chasing a point in life where everything is "perfect" and we've got everything "figured out," the right job, relationships, amount of money, health, etc.

Ideally we would all reach a point in life where we've "figured it all out" and everything is as it should be, that day is unfortunately, never coming...

Life is a constant series of ups and downs, struggles and wins and everything in between.

So as we all seek some perfect version of life where things will "finally be good," I'd encourage you to accept the reality of that day never coming and instead focus your attention on learning how to be content each day while still striving to build a life you can be proud of as you continually level up.

A comfortable and problem free life is unattainable but a life that you fight for and are proud of is.

Hope something here was helpful or encouraging, if it was please share it with someone you think it could help.

Hey friends,

Thanks for stopping by!

In this weeks episode I wanted to talk about something I feel strongly about.

If you saw the title, WE ARE UNDER ATTACK.

From the foods we eat, to the medicines we're prescribed , to the money system we're a part of and more, we are being fed information and products that are not only not good for us, but actually harmful to our lives and our wellbeing.

I want to bring more light to these topics bc as I've done lots of research and unlearning the past few years I realize how much people just don't know what they don't know, especially when it comes to food and physical health.

Most of us want to live happy, healthy and fulfilling lives but there are people in power who are purposely giving us recommendations with out money, food health etc that is directly harming us.

We have to unlearn, relearn and share knowledge that will help us lives healthy and happy lives.

I know some of these things can be concerning or shocking but it would be a disservice to not speak out about things that affect us all.

Love you all and want us all to have the knowledge and information to live the healthiest lives possible.

Hope something here made you live or question something, if you know someone that could benefit from this feel free to share it.

Thanks so much for listening, more to come!

God bless.

Hey friends!

This one is short and sweet.

Wanted to just share my thoughts real quickly on our ability to learn things in life just by watching and garnering learnings from the people around us.

Most of us have people in our lives who have lived a decent amount of life and have made mistakes, had success and have experiences that we can learn from without having to go out and make those same mistakes or have those same experiences ourselves.

There are knowledge, learnings and experiences all around us if we are willing to watch, listen and learn.

I know I've personally learned so much from the people around me, their failures, successes and lessons and I see it as almost a cheat code to life where I can speed up my learnings and knowledge by simply watching and listening to others.

Hope something here was helpful for you, if you think it could be helpful to someone else, feel free to share it.

Thanks so much for listening and supporting, means a ton to me!

Hey friends!

Back this week with a question and thought I've been thinking about a lot the past week, and it's this:

"Am I being what others need me to be?"

I don't know about you, but I've realized that each person or group of people in my life needs something different from me at different times.

Currently a group of people in my life need me to be steady, calm, and in control.
Another individual in my life needs me to be a good listener, ask good questions and offer my advice, another needs me to just be energetic and positive, and the list goes on and on right.

People need different things from us at different times, and we can help love and serve them well by being aware of or asking what those things are that they need, so that we know how to best show up for the people that we care about.

We all have so much to offer, and when we know how to best show up for others we are able to love and support them in the way that best serves them at the time.

This is something I'm actively working on as I don't always do this well and often show up in the way I think they need me and it's not always what others need. (Learn from my mistakes)

Hope something I shared here was helpful for you or someone you know.

Thanks so much for listening, means the world to me!

Hey y'all!

Recently been thinking a lot about what is and what is not in my control in my life.

Find myself stressed, anxious or worried frequently over things I can't control and it's led me to processing a lot about what I can and can't control.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think most of us struggle in some capacity with spending time and energy on things that we can't control, and it causes us to be anxious as well as holds us back from achieving all that we could, if we were just able to focus only on the things within our control.

So in this episode I decided to talk about "Controlling the controllables" aka controlling what is within our control and spednding less time and energy on things outside of our control.

A few things that have helped me are in here as well as my own thoughts and perspectives from failing and succeeding at this at different times.

Hope something here is helpful and encouraging for you or someone you know.

Thanks so much for taking the time to listen, means the world to me!

Talk soon, God bless

Hey friends!

Welcome back to Inside The Mirror.

This week I wanted to share my thoughts and some advice for myself and you all around the idea of getting uncomfortable.

As humans we tend to naturally seek comfort.
The problem with comfort is that it is the enemy of growth and progress.
Therefore, when we seek comfort, we are inadvertently seeking to not grow and move in a direction that is better for us.

Whether it is your fitness, finances, relationships, or any other area of life that you wish to improve, getting uncomfortable is the key to getting to where you want to be.

In this episode I shared my thoughts on comfort now, vs discomfort later and vise versa.

Also shared an example just recently of me choosing comfort over discomfort, which is why I wanted to have a conversation on this topic, it's as much if not more for me than it may be for you.

Anyways, thanks so much for listening and supporting the pod, I hope it's helpful and encouraging for you.

Talk soon, God bless.

Hey friends!

In this weeks episode I wanted to talk about something that I've been thinking a lot about recently, taking the right advice.

We live in a time where information is abundant and there are endless opinions and advice on any topic you can think of, which can make it hard to know which advice to actually listen to and take.

I decided to share a few of my thoughts on how to decide who to listen to and what advice to take.

Hope something I said here was helpful to you or someone you know.

Thanks so much for listening, God bless.

Hey y'all!Ā

This week wanted to share my thoughts around the idea of being resilient.

We all face hard things along the journey of life, adversity, trauma, stress and things we weren't expecting.Ā

With that in mind it's critical that we all learn how to be resilient when unexpected and challenging things happen and be able to bounce back and persevere through the challenging times.

In this episode I shared some of my thoughts on HOW to be resilient and not get stuck when hard things happen.

Hope something here was helpful for you or someone you know.

Thanks so much for listening, I'm super grateful for you.

Hey friends!

Back this week with something I've been thinking about a lot recently,
holding things loosely...

What do I mean?

We all tend to want to control our lives pretty rigidly and that leads to us holding things very tightly in life. When things go away or don't go the way we planned we are often disappointed because we were so sure of something and by doing this, we create our own disappointments.

I'm not saying we shouldn't be committed to things but the more we realize we have very little control over most things in life and that most things are always changing, we can train ourselves to hold situation, outcomes, relationships etc, looser, knowing those things are probably going to change or often not work out as we expected.

The looser we hold things in life the more we open ourselves up to growth, lessons and ultimately good things that we didn't plan for.

Hope this episode is helpful to you.

Thanks so much for listening and supporting, means a ton to me!

Talk soon, God bless

Hey y'all!

Hope everyone is healthy and well.

In this episode I wanted to touch on two things that I believe are critical to living a meaningful and fulfilling life and those things are, Discipline and Vision.

I think both things go hand in hand, first you need a vision and then you need discipline to accomplish that vision, so in this episode I share my thoughts on how vision and discipline work together and why I think they are so critical.Ā

Also shared some practical things I think are important when you are working towards a vision and implementing self discipline.

I don't have all the answers but hope that some of the things I'm learning here on my own journey can be helpful to you on yours.

Thanks so much for taking the time to listen, means the world to me.

Hey y'all!

Back with another episode with just me.

I had a friend tell me recently I need to share my story more so here I am.

This week I decided to talk about my 8 year journey of sobriety.Ā

I checked into rehab on Feb 17, 2015 and it's been a journey of ups and downs ever since, but I'm super grateful for all of it.

Every one of us has a unique story and journey and we also have a responsibility to use that story to help others, so this is a small attempt to hopefully do that.

Thanks so much for listening, it means the world.

Hey y'all!Ā

In this episode I talk about daily habits and how the life we are currently living is a byproduct of our habits.

We all have habits, things we do or don't do, ways we think or don't think, that we do daily that create the life we live.

Each habit we have is moving us somewhere, in a good direction that we want or the opposite, in another direction, creating something we don't want.

In this episode I share my thoughts on the importance of daily habits.

Hope something here was helpful or encouraging.

In this episode I had a conversation with Executive Coach Chuck Whitley.
Chuck works with CEO's and high level business leaders to help them have spiritual connection and direction in their life and business.

The fast paced, high stress, always on, nature of top level leadership can easily lead to burnout and create a negative mindset.
Chuck helps high level leaders align themselves with Gods call on their lives and drive innovation that aligns with Gods plan and ultimately create higher levels of impact in their industry.

This conversation was super intriguing and I learned a lot that I wasn't aware of.

Hey y'all,

Happy New Year!

I'm excited to get this year rocking for you, for myself, and for the podcast.

The first episode of 2023 is with my friend, Emily Harvin.Ā
Emily is the HR Director for a company called Caif. Emily and I met through business but connected instantly over our heart and passion for people in the workplace.Ā
Emily and I share a belief that people are the most important asset a business has and should be treated as such. (which is sadly often not the case in many modern companies.)

Emily and I talked people strategies, how to care for people well in business and her experience growing up with a father as a business owner and what she learned from him about how to treat people.

If you know me you know I'm incredibly passionate about leading from a place of Love so this conversation was a blast for me!

Hope something here resonated and made you think.

Howdy friends!

I was in a meeting this week and there was a conversation that came up around motivation and how to stay motivated when you're in different seasons of life.

I personally don't think motivation is what most people are truly seeking, they are seeking vision.
Motivation is simply a feeling, aka "feeling motivated."
Feelings come and go.
If you want motivation, it's everywhere.
You can turn on a Spotify playlist and feel motivated, you can watch an inspiring Youtube video and feel motivated, the problem is, that feeling doesn't last.

Vision is not a feeling, but rather a future plan.
When the feeling of motivation is not there the vision always is, it is your north star.
When you have a vision for your life and where you are headed, it can sustain you in times where things gets hard, you are tired, lacking motivation etc.
Vision is what sustains.

In this episode I shared some of my perspective on vision and why I believe it's so important.

Hope something here is helpful, thank you all so much for listening to me, I'm truly humbled.

Love to you all, God bless.

Sam opened up about his fitness journey and his journey to overcoming heavy addiction as well as his experience in a church one Sunday where God drastically changed his life.

Sam's story is incredibly inspiring and his heart to "help the one" is something that really resonated with me.

Hey friends!

In this episode I talked about something I've been really focused on lately and if you're close to me you've heard me say this repeatedly, "everything you want is on the other side of hard."

Whatever it is you want in life, money, success, relationships, happiness, etc,
Ā all of it is on the other side of hard things, hard work, hard situations, hard conversations, hard lessons. getting what you want out of life requires that you do hard things, there's no way around it...

If you're already doing the hard things, keep going!

If you've been avoiding hard things, I would encourage you to think about what happens if you just stay where you are, you will never get what you want, take action now.

Hope this was helpful.

What's up y'all!

Welcome back to InsideĀ  The Mirror, thanks for tuning in, LETS GET IT!Ā

In this weeks episode I talked through how we all desire to feel understood and what to do when you feel like others don't understand you.

Most of us have achieved things in life or been through situations, good or bad, that we would like people to know and understand, and the only way for that to happen is to tell them.

The burden to help others understand you is not on them, it's on you.
In my experience one of the most effective ways to become understood by others is to simply ask them if you can share with them some things you would like them to know, HELP THEM understand you.

Hope something I shared here is helpful.

Thanks so much for listening, Love to you all.

What's up friends!

Super excited to share this one with ya!

In this episode I had the pleasure of sitting down and having an awesome conversation with my good friend, Ryan Hoogerwerf.
Ryan is a husband, father, friend, and former Division 1 college athlete from the greatest country in the country, TEXAS!

We talked about Ryan's journey growing up as a high performing athlete and how our identity can so easily get tangled up in what we do, instead of who we are.

Ryan and I discussed everything from identity and purpose,
to his days playing sports with Kyler Murray,
to his dream of one day running a cattle farm, and so much more!

Ryan is one of the most motivated and inspiring people I know, and if you know him, you know you rarely leave a conversation with Ryan without feeling encouraged and motivated.

It's a blessing to get to have real conversations with people like Ryan, I hope this conversation encourages you like it did me.

In this episode I break down some thoughts I have on a passage of scripture I just read.

Ecclesiastes 1:18 says, "...increasing knowledge results in increasing pain."

I don't think this is saying that knowledge is bad,Ā
but I do think that the desire for more and more knowledge is a never ending rabbit holeĀ
and can become an addiction that can do more harm than good for our lives at a certain point.

Knowledge is good but always wanting to know more and more and never being satisfied has been something for me personally that has led to unhealthy things in my life.

I hope something I said here is helpful or makes you think.

Thanks so much for listening, every one of you are a blessing!

God bless

What's up friends!

I'm super pumped to share this conversation I had with my good friend and Colleague, Mason Brozovich.

Mason is an extremely talented leader and a wonderful human!Ā

We talked about everything from million dollar quarters at Leadr,
to insecurity, the need for vulnerability and the pressure for perfection, plus so much more!Ā

I thoroughly enjoyed this conversation and learned A LOT from the wisdom Mason shared.
(I feel a part 2 coming... :))

Thank you all so much for tuning in and listening each week, I'm humbled.

I pray that this podcast impacts you,

God bless.

What's going on friends, I hope you're all healthy and well!

In this weeks episode I was inspired by these words from Chris Heaslip on an episode of theĀ
"One Shot Podcast" with Dallas Cowboy Legend Darren Woodson and Tyler Clutts.

Chris said, "double your rate of failure."

This statement has sat with me since I heard it,
so in this episode,
I unpack what I believe he means by that and why it's so important if you want to succeed at things in life.

This got me fired up and really inspired, if you know Chris, you know he's a really motivating dude.

And if you don't know him well....Ā
Go listen to the One shot Podcast episode with him! :)

Thank you all so much for taking the time to listen to me talk, it's super humbling.

I'm grateful for each one of you and I pray this podcast is of encouragement to you.

Catch you next time,Ā

God Bless!

What's up friends!

It's been 3 weeks since I last released an episode, I'm excited to be back this week with an incredible guest!Ā

In this weeks episode I sat down with my good friend Robyn Corcoran, we talked about life, the journey, the struggles, and how God works all things together for his good, even when we can't see it.

Robyn's story is filled with a lot of struggle and pain as well as a beautiful theme of grace and hope interwoven into WHO she is.

I hope this conversation with Robyn and I inspires someone out there who listens.
Life is hard, we truly care about you and don't want anyone to feel alone in their struggle.

If you're struggling, please reach out to someone, the worst thing you can do to yourself is try to do it alone.

Thank you all so much for listening, I pray this podcast is impactful,

Love to you all, God bless.

What's up friends!

In today's episode I sat down to talk about something I think we need to talk about more in this generation, the idea that winning at things in life happens internally before you see results externally .

Whether it's in your fitness, business, career, relationships etc.
You have to win internally with your daily habits, choices, practices, mindset etc, before you will see the fruit of those choices externally.

Tom Brady is a great example of this, he had to win internally in the way he thought about himself, the way he practiced, his diet, his workout regimen and commitments to himself, before he could ever see the external results.
He had to become a champion internally before he could actually win a championship externally.

Winning is something that happens internally before you see it externally.

This is something that I'm personally working on in several areas of my own life, so I'm very passionate about it and wanted to share my thoughts.

I hope something I said here was helpful in some way and encouraged you to either start doing something or stop beating yourself up and keep doing what you're doing, realizing that the things you are doing now to win internally will eventually pay off externally if you don't give up.

Love to you all,

God bless.

What's up friends!

In this episode I had the privilege of talking with my friend and the VP of sales at Leadr, Jeremy Bohnett.

Jeremy has an inspiring story that includes 3 trips to rehab, hiking across New Zealand and the appalachian trail, as well as working in sales at a software startup, and now being the VP of sales at a hypergrowth tech startup.

Jeremy shared about his past struggles with shame and addiction and the passion he found from getting clean and hiking the appalachian trail.
We also talked about what sales has taught him about life and mindset and the paradigm shift that he's experienced in his career over the past decade as he accomplishes more than he thought possible.

One of my favorite things Jeremy talked about was how small wins compound over time and help you build momentum in life and business.
Those small wins build confidence and lead you to believing you can accomplish more than you had previously thought.

Lastly, we talked about how our paths crossed, my journey to Leadr and Jeremy's first impression of me...

This was an excellent conversation and I hope you are truly encouraged by something that was said.

Thank you all so much for being on this journey with me and listening and supporting the podcast, it means the world to me.

Love to you all,

God bless.

What's up friends!

In this episode I sat down with entrepreneur Becca Gardner, who is the founder of Alt Distilling and the non alcoholic beverages brand NKD LDY.

Becca talked about her journey with alcohol and why she decided to start a non alcoholic beverage brand.
NKD LDY is the first line of non alcoholic products from Alt Distilling, aimed at providing a tasty alternative to traditional alcoholic cocktails.

As someone who enjoys being social but not drinking, hearing about NKD LDY got me really excited for myself and others who want to have a tasty, spirit-like drink without the alcohol!

Becca is an inspiring founder with a massive vision for where her company is going and the positive impact and disruption they will make along the way!

I really enjoyed this conversation and I am super excited to see where NKD LDY goes in the coming years as many seek out alternatives to traditional cocktails and alcohols.

NKD LDY launches in April but you can get on the pre-launch list now by going to drinknkdldy.com/shop

As always, thank you all so much for listening, it means so much to me.

Love to you all,

God bless.

What's up y'all!

In this episode I sat down with my friend Zack Milewski to hear a little bit of his journey in business.
Zack is the Founder and CEO of National Pavement Partners and SpotOnSite, a software that serves contractors and property mangers.

Zack shared his journey from bankruptcy and a failed business to now owning and operating a successful company that generates millions a year in revenue.

Zack talked about the importance of being hungry to learn, seeking out mentors and putting one foot in front of the other each day and not allowing the pressures and worries of life stop you from going after what you want.

I really enjoyed this conversation and I hope you get inspired like I did from hearing Zack's story of success and overcoming obstacles.

What's up friends!

Hope all of you are doing well.

I know last week there was no podcast, I had a stomach virus and really needed to rest, which leads me right to what I wanted to talk about in this episode, which is Rest.
Most of my life I have lived at a very urgent and fast pace and rest has been something that I've avoided and not prioritized in my life up to this point.

I felt like last week was gone giving me a gentle reminder again, that I need to slow down and prioritize resting.

When I say rest, I don't necessarily mean sitting in a chair doing nothing or just sleeping more, I mean identifying, people, places or activities that make you feel refreshed, refueled, rejuvenated etc, and make doing those things or being around those people a frequent priority.

We live in a world and a society that is full of distractions and just moves at an extremely fast pace.
In order to be able to run fast and long in this marathon of life, you need to find things along the way that help you stop and refuel yourself so you can be energized and keep going.

So when I say rest I'm just saying find things that give you energy and make you happy and do those things.

As I continue to seek to be a better person each day, I realize that the next area I need to level up my life in is in the area of rest, If you're anything like me I hope this episode helped you in some way.

Thank you to ever single one of you who listens and supports, it truly means so much to me, thank you.

Love to you all,

God bless.

What's up friends!

I started this episode off with a story from many years ago when my boss told me he wanted to promote me but he wouldn't do it until I started using a planner.
At the time I was driven and passionate (as I still am) but I had no system in place to map out my daily and weekly plans, so a lot of things would fall through the cracks.

As my Dad used to say, "if you aim at nothing you're sure to hit it," or "fail to plan, plan to fail."

We all have things we would like to accomplish on a daily, weekly, monthly, yearly basis.
The difference between those who just hope for things and those who accomplish them, is that those who achieve things have a plan and execute on that plan.

It may sound simple, but if you don't write down your plans or put a visual to them somewhere, the chances of you being able to execute well on them is very small.

This wasn't a real high level thought or deep episode but I just wanted to touch on the importance of simple things like planning.

Hope this episode was helpful, thank you all for listening, I know I say this every week but it truly means a lot!

Love to you all,

God bless.

What's up y'all!

It's just me today and in this episode I talk about Being Kind to other people for just a few minutes a day...

We're all on this journey of life together and it can be filled with pain, trauma, hurt, disappointment etc.
We never truly know what others are going through but we do have opportunities ever day to make an impact on people's lives by just being kind to then.
When I say be kind, I don't mean be fake or be perky or bubbly if that's not your personality, I mean just get outside of yourself and focus on the people around you or those you have the ability to influence in life for just a few minutes.
You never know the impact you can make by just engaging with others for even just a few minutes.

My challenge for myself and for you in this episode is to take 2-3 minutes, 4 or 5 times a day, to engage with other humans and use those few minutes to think about how you can help them in some way, even if its just sending an encouraging text message or talking to the bagger at the grocery store, every person you're around is an opportunity to get outside of yourself and make an impact on another life.

If 7.8 billion people took 10-12 minutes a day to focus on being kind to others think of the difference that would make daily around the world...(I'm not good at math but that's a lot)

I hope this episode challenges you and encourages you to take action for just a small amount of time each day.

Thank you all for listening, it means so much to me, I'm super grateful to be able to communicate with you all each week, I pray this podcast impacts you in some way.

Love to you all, God bless.

In this episode I have on my friend, producer and hip hop artist Broderick Perkins.Ā

Broderick comes from a family of musicians and has produced and put out multiple albums and projects over the past several years with many referring to his sound as reminiscent of a young J.Cole.
Broderick and I had a great conversation around everything from music and relationships, to faith, purpose, sports, and growing up in a bi-racial home.

I really enjoyed this conversation and I hope you do to!

Thank you all so much for listening, it truly means a lot to me.

What's up y'all!

I hope you're a positive start to the new year.

In this episode I wanted to talk about Success and how we define in, especially in America.
It seems to me that most of our culture would say that success is defined as making a lot of money, having a good job, nice car, big house, good relationship etc.
And to be very honest I want all of these things as well, I don't think material possessions in themselves are inherently bad.
I think the problem lies in defining success by these things.
The definition of success that I use in this episode is: "sticking with it through hard things" and "living a life you are proud of."
As we think about how we personally think about success I think it's important to ask ourselves HOW we define success, because the way ewe define success will dictate the way we live on a daily basis, and the way we live on a daily basis will determine the reality of our lives.

I don't know how to perfectly go about viewing success in a less materialistic way, but I believe it starts with determining what a life that you can be proud of looks like and then reverse engineering from there to determine how you will daily live your life.

I hope this episode was helpful and made you think about how you think about success.

"SUCCESS IS LIVING A LIFE YOU CAN BE PROUD OF."

Thank you all so much for supporting and being a part of this podcast, it wouldn't exist without each one of you and I'm extremely grateful.

Love to you all,

God bless.

What's up friends!

This is officially the first episode of 2022 and I couldn't be more excited for what's going to happen for the podcast in the new year!Ā

In this episode I wanted to touch on the power of how we think.
As Tony Robbins says, "your external life is a reflection of your internal life."

The way we think is the most powerful thing we do in life, our thoughts have the power to change our lives, for better or for worse.

In this episode I talked about Why I think we struggle with negative thinking, your ability to change your life by changing your thinking, and some practical thoughts on How to change your thinking and in turn change your life.

I hope this episode was helpful and encouraging to you.

Thank you all so much for listening, it means the world to me!Ā

Love to you all.

Howdy folks!

This is the last episode of the year so I wanted to take some time to reflect on what has happened the past 12 months and also share how I'm preparing for 2022.

2021 was a year of lot's of learning and growth for me personally.
I think it's extremely important to take an inventory of the things that went well for you this year and also the things that you learned and want to improve upon on the new year.
Making a plan for your life and for your year, or whatever time frame you prefer is key to growing and succeeding at anything.
As my father always told me growing up, "if you don't have a plan, you plan to fail."

I hope some of the things I share in this episode help you as you reflect on your year and prepare for the next.

One thing I'm committing to in 2022 is to pray for all of you who listen.
I pray that you will have wisdom and that you will use your gifts and talents to make a positive difference in the world and in the lives of those around you.
May you all have a year filled with growth, peace and joy.

Love to you all,

God bless.

What's up y'all!

There are many things in life you can't control, but what you CAN control is the decision you make on a daily basis.
Those daily decisions are putting you on a path towards success or failure depending on what they look like.
Your future WILL be determined by the choices you make today, make sure you are making choices that will benefit your future self.

I hope something I said was helpful,

What's up y'all!

I'm excited to be back this week with episode 100 of Inside The Mirror Podcast.

In this weeks episode, I sat down with my Father, Jeff Crabtree, as he took over the role of host for a day and interviewed me.
We talked about why I started the podcast, what I've learned since starting it, how it's been going, where it's headed and much, much more!

My Father is the biggest inspiration in my life and it was a pleasure to get to be interviewed by him and get to share about my vision for the podcast and what I plan to accomplish with it.

This episode was special for many reasons, with that being said, I want to thank every single one of you who have listened, watched, or supported me or the show in any way!
I'm extremely grateful to be able to do this and equally as grateful for all of you who support and continue to help it grow as we seek to make a positive impact on the world.

Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your Love and support, this is not MY podcast, it's ours and I'm excited for the next 100 episodes and beyond!

Love to all of you, God bless.

What's up y'all, this weeks episode is interesting because it was unplanned,
so I'm calling this a "half episode" because it's pretty short and sweet!

The reason for the half episode is that I jacked up the audio when recording episode 100 with my Father.
He is out of town most of this week so I wanted to release this half episode to hold you over until we can rerecord episode 100 and release it next week.
Thank you for bearing with me, I'm really excited for episode 100!

Until then, episode 99 and a half is about holding your plans loosely in life.
As you probably have figured out, life is unpredictable and always changing, plans can quickly get derailed or change, in those moments, what do you do?

I propose that you have a plan for problems BEFORE they happen.

Here's something that may be helpful, the 3 P's:

Problem, Process, Pivot.

  1. Identify clearly what the exact Problem is
  2. Process the problem with others who you trust
  3. Pivot from that problem and take the action you decided on after processing

This is how I imperfectly try to approach problems in my life and hopefully it cab help you too if you don't already do this.

Like I said, this one was short and sweet but I hope something I said impacted you.

Episode 100 will be out NEXT WEEK!

Thank you all for listening,

God bless.

In this episode I sit down and have a genuine friend to friend conversation with my good friend Forrest Bischof.

Forrest and I met over a decade ago when we were both making music in my hometown of Fort Collins, Colorado! (shoutout) :)

Forrest and I ended up building teams and leading restaurants together at Taco Bell for several years after that before I cam to Dallas.
Forrest is a kind human, a loyal friend, a loving leader and all around around quality person to have in your life.

Forrest and I sat down and talked about everything from how to handle the deep pains of life to our views on the logic surrounding certain government measures as of late.
This was the same conversation Forrest and I would have had outside the podcast as well,
I say that because I always want this show to be about authentic conversations.
I want you, the listener, to feel like you're sitting down with me as I talk to people I find interesting, helpful or just enjoyable to talk to.

Thank you all for listening, it means so much to me.

Hope you all have a positive and peaceful holiday,

God bless.

In this weeks episode I talk to marketing and branding entrepreneur Bobby Saumell.

Bobby has been working in the social media/branding space for the last 4 years. When Bobby was younger he always knew he wanted to serve and impact people. For the last 5 years while working in branding Bobby has also worked as a teacher for grades ranging from 7th-12th. While working as a sales representative for Vhault32 he has had the opportunity to work with incredible individuals from all different niches to help them to share their story and build their brand. At the end of the day their mission is to empower business owners and entrepreneurs to feel more confident about their brand and message and by doing this see results from growing their audience on social media the right way.

I really enjoyed this conversation with Bobby, this episode was full of gems, not only about branding and marketing but also on life principles and mindset.

Thank you all for tuning in and supporting, I'm extremely grateful for very single of you!

See you next week,

Love to you all.

What's up y'all!

I apologize that I didn't communicate that I wouldn't be releasing an episode last week, I won't do that again.
The reason I didn't release an episode last week is because I was worn down and felt I needed to slow down and try to rest some, I've been going hard at several things this year and I need to make sure I don't forget to rest well, thank you for understanding.

That said, I'm back this week with something that's been on my mind a lot recently which, finding the Good in the bad.
What do I mean by that?
I mean, that life will always be full of hard, painful and difficult situations, so learning how to have a positive perspective and find even ythe smallest amount of good in things will help us live a more fulfilling and productive life.
It's important to be able to step back when hard things happen and really try to find something good in it, even if it's small, this will 100% improve our quality of life and our ability to deal with hard situations.

Thanks you all for listening, I truly appreciate each one of you!

Be back next week,

God bless.

What's up y'all!Ā

In this episode I share some thoughts around the belief that it's ok toĀ  change your mind in life.
I think too many times, we keep doing things that don't serve us well or aren't best for us because we're concerned about other people will think about us, maybe they will think we are "wishy-washy," or uncommitted or whatever it is.
The opinions of others is a very real fear, I face it myself many days, but I know that I don't want to live a life with regret because I didn't make the decisions I needed to based on what other people' think.

God gave you one life, do what he has for you,
Ā don't let the opinions of others stop you from living an impactful life,Ā
we are all capable of doing great things!

Love to you all, be back next week,
Go bless!

What's up y'all!

In this weeks episode I decided to share about something that's been on my mind a lot the past few weeks, and that is this, the power of being vulnerable...

I truly believe that one of the quickest and best ways to build trust with someone is to be vulnerable with them, meaning, tell them your story, show them your flaws, be open about your imperfections, talk about not just the good things in your life but the hard things, overall, just be authentic and REAL.
People want to be around people who are honest about their imperfections, it lets others know that they can also be themselves when they are around you.

I hope this episode helps someone, let others see the whole you and you'll be surprised by how much people start to trust and respect you.

Love to you all,

God bless!

What's up friends!

In this episode I just sat down to talk about my views on AMBITION.

I have massive ambitions in life, some that are so big I've been told, "that'll never happen," "that's crazy," "you need to slow down," "be more realistic," "don't let your calendar rule your life," " and on and on and on...

The truth is, my ambitions ARE big and crazy, I believe that's how ambitious people should think!
In order to achieve big, crazy things you can't slow down, you need to speed up!

Being ambitious is wonderful but being committed to those ambitions means you have to be ready to be misunderstood over and over again, people can't see you vision, you have to build it for them.

This episode is me talking to anyone with massive ambition such as myself, stay focused, stay the course, don't get mad when people don't understand you, let that drive you even more towards what you're going to achieve!

I hope you're all healthy and well, sending Love to each one of you.

God bless!

What's up y'all, I'm back!

Thank you for bearing with me the past two weeks in not putting out a podcast, if you listen to this episode I'll explain where I've been and why.

Also in this episode I talk about what I've been focused on mentally recently, addressing and overcoming my performance/achievement based mentality.

Finding your identity and value in what you do or accomplish in life will ultimately leave you feeling empty...Ā
I did my best here to be vulnerable, honest and helpful, I hope you feel that.

In this episode I talk with activist and business owner Julie Allen.

Julie is an author and sustainability awareness activist, is the CEO of Mary Rose NW Boutique and founder of the Mary Rose Foundation. Julie started Mary Rose NW Boutique because she recognized the need for a clothing shop that focused on body acceptance, self-love, and helping all bodies feel beautiful and confident in their clothes. The three pillars of her boutique include sustainability, inclusion, and social justice. With the fuel from winning ā€œBest Online Boutique in Oregonā€ in 2020, Julie shifted her store into an even better one by implementing sustainability in regards to appropriate wages and ethical treatment given to all people that come in contact with the garments and the end product of eco-friendly clothes in all sizes. Currently, she has reached 50% sustainability within the storefront, not including the refreshed store set up with adjustments down to what type of hangers the clothes are displayed on. With a bachelor’s in psychology and a background in physical therapy, Julie truly understands how the mind affects the body and vice versa. She struggled with anorexia and bulimia for 15 years and as a result, made it her mission to empower people to love and embrace themselves wholeheartedly. The Mary Rose Foundation is a non-profit 501c3 designed to help people who are struggling with the financial burden of eating disorder treatment and works on the prevention side as well with their educational outreach programs. Julie's message is simply one of strength, courage, self-compassion, and most of all, hope. In her downtime, she enjoys lifting weights, going for walks, unplugging, and focusing on her family.

I really enjoyed this conversation with Julie and learned a lot from her!

I hope you enjoyed this conversation and it impacted you in some way.

What's up y'all!

We've all heard the saying, "You become like the people you surround yourself with," and for the most part I think we would all say we agree...
So if we all agree who you spend time with is important, why do so many of us still spend so much time around people who are bad for us???
People are either adding to your life in the time you spend with them, or they are detracting from it.

In this episode I continue with the "LIFE HACK" series talking about the importance of who you spend your time with, why it matters, how to find better people and my views on cutting off "toxic people."

Thanks for tuning in, I hope something that was said helps you or at least challenges you to think more about the people you spend time with.

What's up ya'll!

In this weeks episode I share my thoughts around creating habits and being disciplined for success...

We all have dreams or goals we want to accomplish in life right,
Ā but what separates those who accomplish their goals vs those who don't?

I believe the answer usually comes down to Discipline and Habits.

Are you willing to create daily habits that will lead toward your goals?
Do you have the discipline to execute on those habits daily even when they are hard?
These are some questions to ask yourself if you have dreams and goals.

I really hope this episode helps someone start creating habits that will lead to success.

def. "giving up something for something more important."

Holding others to your own expectations and standards can lead to lots of disappointmentĀ  and frustration.

What's up y'all!
Let me first say that If you're in Texas or anywhere else affected by these wild, frigid winter storms, please know I'm praying for you!

In this weeks episode I sat down and chopped it up with Dallas's own, DJ Uneeq!
Uneeq is a DJ who has become well known in the Dallas hip hop scene after countless years of grinding, doing free shows, showing up to events to shake hands, and even running the dj booth while dj's took breaks.
His relentless hustle eventually led to opportunities to DJ for stars such as DaBaby and Mya as well as being involved in shows featuring Ginuwine, Dizzy Wright, J. Stone, and Twista just to name a few.

This was a energizing conversation and really accentuated the importance of hard work and dedication.
There are three simple but important points that I think sum up this episode;
Work Hard

What's up ya'll!
This episode was inspired by a conversation I had with my Doctor during a recent visit.
I went in to see him about some stomach issues and we were talking about balancing bacteria in the gut, which turned into a conversation about overall balance in life.
My doctor is a wise man and he was talking about the importance of being able to balance your views andĀ  information you listen to in life, too much of one thing becomes bad.
My favorite thing he said was, "progress happens in the center, where there is balance."
I hope this episode helps you think about what area of your life needs to be balanced, we all have them.
I appreciate every single one of you who tunes in to hear me talk, it truly makes me happy and means a lot!
Sending tons of Love to all of you, God bless!

Hey guys, welcome back!
In this episode I decided to talk about something I feel is extremely important and crucial to us as people and a society moving forward, the ability to respectfully disagree.
2020 was a year of strong opinions and extreme division in America, most people seemed to struggle with agreeing to disagree with others.
Life is full of disagreements but part of being mature is learning how to listen and agree to disagree.
It's ok to have strong opinions, I have very strong opinions myself, but what's not ok is becoming hateful and being unwilling to listen to people you disagree with.
When society loses the ability to have open dialogue and respectfully disagree, we will quickly lose our society altogether.
Please take a good look inside yourself and be a person who is willing to listen to those you disagree with and respectfully disagree, that's how we move forward as a culture, by listening to others.
I pray something in this episode is helpful and makes you think.
Lets be people who choose to listen and Love others, even those we disagree with.
Sending lots of love to you all, God bless!

I hope something we said helps you Love yourself more and reminds you that the things that make you different are the things that make you incredible!

In this episode I discuss my opinions, perspectives and frustrations with our current governmental leadership in America.
I have questions:
If the job of politicians is to represent the voice of the people, why are the majority of people not being represented well in Washington?
Why are our choices for president 78 and 74 years old?
Why are there not term limits on the members of congress who pass laws that affect us?
Why are we ok with our lawmakers selling their votes to big corporations and passing laws to benefit the people at the top?
I am personally fed up and very frustrated with the poor leadership we have in our government and I am determined to do something about it!
I hope this episode makes you think more about the people who rule us and pass laws that affect our lives.
Love you all, God bless you and God bless America.

What's up y'all, good to be back!
In this weeks episode I'm flyingĀ  solo and talking about some things that are on my mind,
such as how people behave on the internet.
We all live a large portion of our lives online now and the way you behave as a human on the internet matters, you should hold yourself to the same standard as you would in the real world.
Also I shared my views on things you CAN control in a year when so many things seem out of control, for example, your attitude, your perspective, the way you treat others etc, these are all controllable and we should do our best to control them well.
Thank you all so much for taking the time to listen!
I hope something I said encouraged you or made you think twice, love you all, God bless!

WelcomeĀ  everybody!

I'm also grateful for the opportunity and ability to have this conversation with him recorded to show my children and grandchildren.Ā

| In this episode I have a conversation with my friend Alex White, host of "Lost In Culture podcast."
We talked about the current situation with the death of George Floyd and the outcry and frustration from people who have been affected by racial injustice. Alex gave a great perspective and had some wise words as to how we can continue the conversation and seek reform, not just in our systems but in the hearts of people.
I pray that as you watch this you will be honest with yourself about how you look at people who are different than you and work on fixing anything that is out of place or any area of your heat that is lacking in compassion. Thank you so much for watching! God bless!
