The Spiritual Gifts listed in Romans 12 are classified as motivational gifts. God, through the work of the Holy Spirit, has given every follower of Jesus at least one of the seven motivational gifts to carry out the work of the ministry.
The Christian Life should be identified as a life of generosity. In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus clearly outlined what it means to live Kingdom Principles--covering almost every area of life including our willingness to give of ourselves.
Definition of Spiritual Momentum: A move of the Holy Spirit in the life of a church family that is awakening to, rallying around, and fulfilling the vision of the Great Commission.
These four verses are very significant when we look at the context of church history. The church today needs a clear vision of how Christ wants His church to be organized and to function.
Suffering is in general part of the human condition and as followers of Jesus it can come at us from many different outlets—consequences, persecution, attacks from the enemy and even testing from God.
Peter is giving survival instructions to those who make up the Church. He is basically instructing us not to be overcome by the dark days and circumstances in which we live but to stay focused on what we have been called to do.
Peter says a lot about time and gives us wisdom on using our time. If we really believe in eternity and if we really believe what we read in God’s Word, we will make the best use of our time. (Psalm 90:12)
The purpose of 1st Peter is to encourage followers of Jesus that they can survive and thrive even in suffering.
Right in the middle of Peter’s letter he addresses the important issue of marriage. It is interesting to note that most all ancient writings do not address how husbands and wives are to interact nor what the relationship should look like. Yet God esteems marriage as the highest of all human relationships. In this letter Peter addresses the wives (3:1-6) and then the husbands (3:7).
Peter begins this passage by reminding us that we are not of this world and that we should not be corrupted by it. So, in a world marked with sin against God and hostility against believers, how should we as followers of Jesus live?
When we place our faith in Jesus Christ there are certain privileges that come with our new reality.
These days are filled with negativity, distrust, and hurt. But God’s Word tells us we can live beyond these realities by living the realities of His instruction.
The purpose of 1st Peter is to encourage followers of Jesus that they can survive and thrive even in suffering.

Peter, the author of 1st Peter, is one of the most complex characters in the Bible. He is a great example of what it means to “survive and thrive” in Christ.
We all have blind spots, character flaws, or certain “Respectable Sins” that seem to go unnoticed in our lives. We can become so Preoccupied with the “major” sins of society that we lose sight of the need to deal with our Own sin.
We all have blind spots, character flaws, or certain “Respectable Sins” that seem to go unnoticed in our lives. Often, these “subtle sins” are never dealt with. We can become so preoccupied with the major sins of society that we can lose sight of the need to deal with our own more subtle sins.
Can anyone, regardless of their past accept Christ as their Lord and Savior and experience a changed life through the power of the Holy Spirit? The answer is “yes”. In fact, some of the worst sinners turn out to be some of the most passionate saints. One of the greatest transformations in the entire Bible is seen in the life of the apostle Paul.
The Biblical account of Peter’s restoration gives the reader one of the clearest pictures of a transformed life.
The challenge for most people is to move from a system of religion and rituals into a relationship with God who loves them.
The time between Jesus first appearance after His resurrection and His ascension (His return to Heaven) is forty days. During this forty-day period He appears to many with messages of hope and instruction.
Jesus' final words on the cross were very calculated, and revealed much about who He was and is and His purpose and mission.
In the gospel accounts of Jesus’ ministry, we read that He had many accusers, as well as admirers. His accusers ranged from surprisingly the religious who maliciously demanded His execution to the political leaders who found no fault in Him, yet still yielded to pressures to execute Him. Jesus’ accusers were blinded by their misplaced expectations, their delusional egos, and their envious spirit.
In the gospel accounts of Jesus’ ministry, we read that He had many accusers, as well as admirers. Many totally misunderstood Jesus’ mission and purpose and even who He was; including many of His admirers even up to the last events and last words just before He was placed on the cross.
Many have speculated and wondered what Heaven will be like: Will it be boring? Will we work? Will we learn? What will be the opportunities in Heaven?
The Scriptures indicate that everyone who has ever lived will be resurrected and will live for eternity—either in Heaven or Hell.
In these chapters the scene is in Heaven at the Throne of God. The Throne of God is the central part of the universe.
How does the Bible describe Heaven? The first question should be, “which phase or juncture of Heaven?”
The only way to escape the sin, suffering, and hopelessness of this world is to follow Jesus to another—a place of perfection and paradise God calls Heaven.
Over 2000 years later God is still inviting us into the Christmas Story. Joseph’s invitation was made possible by his obedience—he was a willing participant.
It is amazing to think that the transformation God desires for you can replace your shame and guilt with His grace and forgiveness. But it only occurs when you encounter Him.
The helmet and the sword of the soldier were both very important in a first century battle. The helmet protected the abilities of the soldier while the sword enabled the soldier to have victory over their opponent.
Faith in God is the only protection for those who are vulnerable and under attack from the enemy. Without faith in God, the follower of Jesus does not stand a chance against the enemy. Faith must be placed, developed, and exercised in the Jesus follower to be able to withstand the weaponry (darts) of the enemy.
There are two main ideas as it relates to “the shoes of the gospel of peace.” First is the idea of taking the gospel to those who need the gospel of peace; second is the idea of living daily in what the gospel of peace has provided us as follower of Jesus.
Righteousness is about the prospect of being right and in fellowship with God. Many even in the church have a misunderstanding as to what is means to be righteous or right before God. Matter of fact, how a person views righteousness determines their eternal destination.
The foundational truth in the Bible is that there is one God, who has revealed truth and one can know Him. However, western culture has rejected God’s truth and has created lies that have produced great deception.
In a spiritual context, peace is not the absence of problems, but the presence of Christ. True peace is not affected by circumstances. It is the opposite of conflict, ungratefulness, and worry. It is the purist path to joy.
In this text Paul is making a sharp contrast between those who live for this world and those who live for the world to come. It appears that both groups were professing Christians but had vastly different perspectives about how they lived their lives--one group ends in destruction while the other group receives the assurance of Heaven.
For growth to take place in a follower of Jesus, it is dependent on both divine sovereignty and human responsibility. This growth is a process of God working in and us working out. Not us working for our salvation—that is God working in us—but us working out our salvation—obediently surrendering and following. This is the path to true joy.
Even though Jesus is Lord of all, He is the greatest example of a servant we can follow. And serving others as Jesus is a path to joy.
We as a church family must be in “koinonia”—which is experiencing the fullest possible partnership and fellowship with God and each other. This requires unity in the vision God has given us and what we believe about Him.
Is it possible to have joy in suffering? The answer is “yes” if we realize whose we are and what our life is truly about. The life of a follower of Jesus is far from easy, however it is a path to real satisfying joy.
A follower of Jesus must learn to live above their circumstances; demonstrating to the world that “the hope” within them is greater than any circumstance they may face. Demonstrating this provides an impactful platform for ministry and mission.
We all have a fundamental emotional need for joy in our lives, yet many of us do not experience it. Life without joy has proven to be overwhelming, and even oppressive. That being understood, the presence of joy in our lives is not determined by our circumstances but in the person of Jesus Christ. Joy is the unshakable assurance that God is in control of all the details of our lives, the confidence that ultimately, we can trust God in everything that comes into our lives, and the determined purpose to praise Him in all things.
The Christian Life should be identified as a life of giving; however, this is not the case for many. For many it is because they are in financial bondage and do not understand the role finances play in their spiritual lives. In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus clearly outlined what it means to live Kingdom Principles--covering almost every area of life including finances.
The Churches with the greatest impact for the Kingdom of God have many similarities with the great work of Nehemiah:
What if your Money could talk, what would it say? Money would say, “I am NOT a Toy, I am a Tool.” What is your perspective on money?
The economy of God seems to be summarized in Philippians 4:19. This verse is one of the greatest promises in the entire Bible. It seems to encompass all other promises.
Few things cause more problems, difficulties, worries, and stress than being in financial bondage. 64 % of all marriages argue about money, while 54 % of all divorces are caused by financial tension.
Our identity as a follower of Jesus is one of transformation, moving from our old life before salvation to our new life now, becoming more like Him.
What if you were told that the hurt you have experienced in your life, could possibly be the best thing to ever have happened to you and those around you. It is true and can be proven with the story of Joseph (OT) in the Bible.
Reasons you do not forgive: the one who hurt you does not deserve forgiveness; the one who hurt you has not suffered enough; and lastly, to forgive them will make you feel vulnerable.v
Hostility in the mind displaces peace in the heart. Peace is a state of untroubled, undisturbed well-being; while hostility is a state of opposition, resistance, and even warfare. Which one rules your mind and heart?
Hurt is hurt; but its impact and depth are determined by the closeness of the relationship with the offender.
What are the Current lies the World is feeding you when you Look in the Mirror? Are you seeing Truth, or just the “Smoke” of Deception?

Being a true follower of Jesus is not just simply keeping a list of dos and don’ts—which is the attempt of legalism. Legalism says, Jesus is not enough; one also needs a series of rules, regulations, and guidelines to achieve God’s desires. Legalism turns the life of a follower of Jesus, into a life of bondage, instead of a joyful blessing.
Mysticism is the attempt to perceive and experience spiritual reality. It is the belief that one can have a direct experience with the spirit world and with God, apart from Jesus and the revelation God has given through His Word. Modern mysticism expresses itself through what today we call the New Age Movement.
A ritual is not bad in and of itself. A ritual is an established form of conducting a ceremony (Marriage, Baptism, etc). A ritual has certain words that are said and certain actions that are carried out. The Old Testament rituals (shadows) pointed to something of reality (substance). Ritualism can be excessive devotion to the rituals instead of the excessive devotion to the reality of Jesus Christ.
The best way not to be taken in by that, which is false, is to know (from facts to experience) that which is true. The false teachers in the first century taught about a four-headed monster that consisted of intellectualism, ritualism, mysticism, and legalism.
The best way not to be taken in by that, which is false, is to know (from facts to experience) that which is true.
How can a baby born 2000 years ago on the other side of the world bring the world to a stop, because it was no ordinary baby. What was God conspiring to do through this Baby? The Bible says, "God loved the world so much that He gave (He sent) His Son."
For a couple to experience God together they must understand and live the roles and responsibilities He has given them.
“Every congregation (church body) should be a world missions strategy center.” (Exp God, p. 226) For this to be a reality, we as a church family must be in “koinonia”—which is experiencing the fullest possible partnership and fellowship with God and each other. This requires unity in the vision God has given us and what we believe about Him.
When a church allows God’s presence and activity to be expressed, a watching world will be drawn to Him. A church needs to hear the whole counsel of God through His Word, prayer, and circumstances. A church must learn to function as a body with Christ as the head if it expects to experience God.
Obedience is the outward expression of our love for God. When we obey God, He will accomplish through us what He has purposed to do. When God sees that we are faithful and obedient with a little, He will entrust us with more.
“A crisis of belief is not calamity but a turning point where you must make a decision. It is a situation that forces you to decide what you truly believe about God. The way you respond at this turning point will determine whether you will become involved with God in something God-sized that only He can do or whether you will continue to go your own way and miss what He purposed for your life.” (Experiencing God p.134)

God speaks Today through the Holy Spirit to reveal Himself, His Purposes, and His Ways. So if God still speaks today, why don’t we Hear from God?
God’s Word (truth) is never discovered; it is revealed. The understanding of spiritual truth is the result of the Holy Spirit at work in our lives. Therefore, understanding spiritual truth does not lead us to an encounter with God; it is the encounter with God.
“…the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” (Romans 5:5b) Our response to God’s Love is not only a reflection of His love for us but also our worship.
“He (Jesus) said to him, ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and most important command.’” (Matthew 22:37-38)
Have you ever seen what God can do with an ordinary person? The Bible is filled with examples, including one named Moses.
Have you ever seen what God can do with an ordinary person? The Bible is filled with examples, including one named Moses. His story is a great illustration of how God prepares and equips those He calls to serve. This can clearly be seen in the three segments of his life. His first forty years in the house of pharaoh; his second forty years in the wilderness; and his third forty years leading God’s people in the wilderness. The first eighty years were preparation for the call of the last forty years.
One’s affection for the things of God is determined by their passions, (what lights their fire?) perceptions, (how they view God?) and priorities (how they prioritize their life?). The same is true for the individual local church.
It takes people from all walks of life with varying gifts at different points on their Christian journey to accomplish the work God has entrusted the Church. God uses ordinary people to accomplish extra-ordinary tasks.
The lifestyle of the New Person in Christ is to have an intimate relationship with Him, while making Him known to others through opportunities and speech.
God has given different and unique roles for the husband and wife as well as parents and children. What it comes down to is playing the position God has designed specifically for you.
Someone has rightly said that life is what we are alive to; what we are truly passionate about. For “Followers of Jesus” this comes from living life with an unimaginable perspective that is found in who we are “in Christ.”
Much of the proof of Jesus’ deity is found in the authority of His words. The extreme measure of His superior intelligence is also found in His simplistic communication with others. No person who ever lived or ever will live, was and is as He.
We believe Jesus is unrivaled in History and Eternity. He is glorious both now and forever and His name is the only name that saves. We believe that people were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin’s penalty.
Why is the virgin birth so important? Does the virgin birth really matter? Why was it so important that Jesus be born of a virgin? Why did Jesus have to become a man?
When we begin to follow Jesus, He gives us a Second and Better Nature that empowers us to love Others well. His desire is that this Second Nature would become “Second Nature” for us.
When we begin to follow Jesus, He gives us a Second and Better Nature that empowers us to love Him wholeheartedly and to love Others sacrificially. His desire is that this Second Nature would become “Second Nature” for us.
In Luke 2:52 we read that Jesus grew in the same four areas we should grow to be fully mature. Just as He, we are expected to mature mentally, physically, spiritually, and relationally. We also find in Luke 10:27 that we should demonstrate our love for God in the same four areas.
The ability to think and act utilizing knowledge, experience, understanding, discernment, insight, and most importantly spiritual illumination from the Holy Spirit in the midst of life’s deceptions, decisions and circumstances.
Do you desire to get back to the place where you once were with God, to a place of joy and fulfillment? Do you need a fresh touch from Him? Brokenness is the only way back, the only path to change which leads to abiding.
Words have a power all their own. More painful than the bumps we suffer in daily life are the words that wound. How much heartache could be spared from relationships simply by saying nothing. But too often, our tongues are the tool of the enemy.
The Christmas narrative is full of stories of doubt, and for good reason, because it is filled with one miracle after another. Yet the true miracles were those in which doubt became belief. (Definition of doubt: to call into question something that is true)
Nothing can steal the truth of Christmas. Yet it’s easy for us to not live in the reality of Christmas. The reality of Christmas is that Jesus has come to set us free from the Penalty of our Sin and the Power of our Hang-Ups.
Our vision here at PCC is to fulfill God’s desire for His Church. We interpret it as Love God, Connect with Others, and Reach the World. So how can we become “rooted” together around this Biblical Vision?
Our vision here at PCC is to fulfill God’s desire for His Church. We interpret it as Love God, Connect with Others, and Reach the World. So how can we become “rooted” together around this Biblical Vision?
God has given PCC the great privilege and responsibility to Reach the World with the Glory and Good News of Jesus. We believe Reaching the World involves both Ministry & Mission.
As a church family, we are called by God to Reach the World with the gospel of Jesus Christ. He accomplishes this through the individuals He places in the local church. He uses five things to shape us for ministry—for service: our Spiritual Gift(s), our Heart, our Abilities, our Personality, and our Experiences. Our purpose and significance in life comes from our serving.
The Holy Spirit’s role in your life is to teach you, convict you, and guide you to become a follower of Jesus. He does this by placing you in a local church with other followers of Jesus that help you become “rooted” (spiritually mature) in His Word and His best for your life. His expectation is that you become “rooted” and then share your life with others that they may become “rooted.”
Throughout Scripture, the mandate is clear: Go and make disciples. Discipleship involves life-on-life…sharing time, passing on truth, and doing life together with the goal of growing fully devoted followers of Christ.
God has wired us for relationships. We find in God’s Word that as a Church Family, we were created to go through life in connection with one another; however, for various reasons it is easy to become disconnected from those God has placed in our lives.
Worship is literally expressing highest value to God through our lives in response to who He is and His love for us.
“Your perspective and attitude—not intelligence, education, talent, ability, opportunity and even hard work—are the main factors that determine whether you will reach your God given potential.”
Most people believe David wrote this psalm later in life. In the psalm God is referenced 36 times and David over 50 times, which speaks to the personal and intimate nature of their relationship. This psalm is evidence that God desires an intimate relationship with you and that He has plans for you in this life. (Jeremiah 29:11)
A Christ-follower is truly content when he honors the God of the Word by meditating and walking in the light of God’s Word. He avoids ungodly fellowship, ungodly counsel, ungodly goals, and ungodly conduct.
King David’s godly character begins to erode into what many call the corrupted years of his life. This did not happen overnight--it involved a steady progression of disobedience, discontentment and lack of discipline that seemed to be motivated by a mid-life crisis.

When we study the lives of King Saul and the soon to be King David, we find a stark contrast in their character. Saul was small in character, while David was large in character.
God is in the process of maturing us into the person He desires us to be. In theological terms this process is called sanctification. This process is clearly scene in the life of David.
When we face fear, we truly find out who and whose we are. The courage to overcome fear is found in faith
1 Corinthians 15 is the clearest chapter in the Bible on the subject of the resurrection of Jesus. It reveals the promises that are kept and fulfilled by God through the His Son.
The resurrection of Jesus Christ is one’s only hope and the only event in history that guarantees and assures salvation. Groups of People Here Today:
If the Incredible Life is based on Inner Choices, then most of the Incredible Life happens in the Secret Places of the Heart. There lies within each Believer this tension to either be Superficially Proud or to be Secretly Incredible.
The “Incredible Life” is not based on our Outer Circumstances, but on our Inner Choices. It’s a God-Centered and Others-Focused Existence. A Family Feud (12:13-14)
The unshakable assurance that God is in control of all the details of my life, the quiet confidence that ultimately everything will be alright, and the determined purpose to praise God in all things.
The incredible life begins with God’s unimaginable love towards us. A love that pursues and is passionate. Our response to His love, conceives the incredible life He has for us.
From the pages of God’s Word, we discover that we are called to not only live a life of faith and courage; but also a life of direction and purpose which in turn will provide us a life of satisfaction and fulfillment. However there are times when we lose focus due to the stressors of life. It is then that our vision becomes blurred with anxiety as seen in the life of the prophet, Elijah.
From the pages of God’s Word, we discover that we are called to not only live a life of faith and courage; but also a life of direction and purpose which in turn will provide us a life of satisfaction and fulfillment.

What is your response to life when you feel everything is closing in on you—when life becomes difficult? Do you feel sorry for yourself and become discouraged or do you face life’s challenges courageously?
Biblical faith is the corrective lens necessary to see God at work in this fallen world.
The Paradox of Christmas: It does not find us in Extraordinary It finds us in Everyday Moments.
The Gift of Christmas: You have been saved from the Guilt of Sin, you are being saved from the Problems of Sin, and when Christ returns, you will be saved from the Punishment for Sin.
As already stated we need to be aware and alert that we are in a battle for our soul. We war against the enemy, the world, and our flesh. These must be fought with the weapons given to us by God.
Someone has said, “The Christian Life is not a playground but a battleground.” We as “Followers of Jesus” are under attack on three fronts
In our world there are many mixed messages regarding salvation as it relates to someone’s eternal destiny—heaven or hell.
The Bible clearly teaches that there are times when we are to believe and live counter-culture. This would include a defense of a Biblical worldview of marriage.
The Bible clearly teaches that there are times when “Followers Of Jesus” are to believe and live counter-culture. For that to happen we must know how to distinguish between the mixed messages of the society in which we live and God’s truth. This would include our views concerning life.
The foundational truth in the Christian faith is that there is one God, who has revealed truth and one can know Him. However the modern western culture has rejected God’s truth and has even reversed good and evil resulting in the unraveling of western society.
How does a “Follower of Jesus” identify truth in a fallen world of mixed messages? The obvious answer is God’s Word and what the “Follower of Jesus” believes about it. Is it truly God’s Word? What does His Word say about Him, you, the world and truth? This is the beginning of determining what is truth in the mixed messages surrounding you.
The Climate of your Relationships Improves when Conflict is Resolved, not Ignored. When conflict is resolved, the resulting climate is called “Unity.” Unity is the “Silver Lining in the Cloud” of Conflict.
You have a Climate- the Environment you Create with your Demeanor / Mood You Usually do NOT Know what Your Climate is Your Climate Dictates the Forecast- “What you Sow, you will Reap”
James closes his letter, written to followers of Jesus, with specific instruction on how they can serve and minister to one another through prayer.
In Scripture, Jesus’ return is described with three words: His Revelation (unveiling), His Appearing, and His Coming. The Bible teaches that as the return of Jesus draws near that those days will be characterized as days of difficulty, deception and defiance. Followers of Jesus and Churches will be tempted and pressured to follow the ways of the world. However James encourages us to be patient, stand firm and endure.
These verses are not saying that wealth is wrong in and of it’s self. This passage is referring to those who have allowed their wealth to be the controlling force in their life and for them James has a warning.
James calls each of us to have souls that are revived. Revival means to live again. It is the idea that faith was once alive and vibrant and then became lifeless and dull. The emphasis we see in this passage today is victory over temptation. And James is giving a strong formula and how we can overcome.
Pleasure in and of it self is not wrong, bad or evil; God Himself created it. However the enemy, as in everything else, seeks to take the normal desire for pleasure and make it corrupt. When pleasure becomes the ultimate pursuit of a person’s life, they lose sight of God’s plan and purpose for their life.
In his letter, James is demonstrating that one’s works, words, and wisdom reveal what a person believes. In this passage he is revealing the difference between two kinds of wisdom; one that is of divine origin and a second that is of a distorted origin.
James carries us from faith and our works to faith and our words. He is careful to say that faith not only produces the right works but also the right words. One of the evidences of true faith is found in the words we use. Our words reveal spiritual immaturity, as well as and spiritual maturity.
Some would argue that this passage proves that Paul and James preached different gospels
Wisdom is not merely knowledge and intelligence. Wisdom is the ability to take the knowledge that you acquire, and apply that knowledge to everyday problems and situations. Biblically it is the ability to apply God’s truth and judgments to your circumstances and trials.
Trials, problems, disappointments all can be expected in this fallen world, but they don’t have to be wasted. God can use these to develop and mature your faith. Those with a mature faith have the potential to live above trials and not under them.
The Fruit of the Spirit is a picture of spiritual qualities that are reflected in the personality and relationships of the believer. The Biblical goal for every believer is for the spiritual fruit to ripen in their lives.

We can really pour our time and focus into Easter - and the amazing gift God gave us!! And we SHOULD! And yet we show our true Love and THANKFULNESS to God by how we WALK each day of our life.
The story that surrounds Easter is one of the most recognized dramas of all time; yet there are many different observations of the story that many do not consider. Including observations concerning the resurrection that can give you a new perspective on the celebration of Easter. The resurrection of Jesus, guarantees the benefits of the salvation He provided through the cross. Which means if you receive the salvation He provides you have two life-stories: before Jesus and after Jesus.

Definition of Harmony: two or more different parts coming together to create a unified sound. Introduction: We as followers of Jesus Christ should desire to be the church that God desires and that best resembles Heaven
The Christian Life should be identified as a life of giving; however this is not the case for many. For many it is because they are in financial bondage and do not understand the role finances play in their spiritual lives. In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus clearly outlined what it means to live Kingdom Principles--covering almost every area of life including finances.
For transformation to take place in the life of a believer, God’s Word and prayer are imperative. Prayer invites the opportunity to turn the insights of God’s Word into a life-changing discussion.

Resolution is defined as the formal expression of intention or the act of a determining action; while transformation is defined as the state or process of being transformed creating a change in nature and character. According to God’s Word the work of the Holy Spirit is best described as transformation
Definition of Biblical Hope: “NOT WISHFUL THINKING; BUT ASSURED, CONFIDENT, EAGERLY ANTICIPATED EXPECTATION; A FIRM ASSURANCE SUPPORTED BY THE PROMISES OF GOD’S WORD REGARDING THINGS THAT ARE UNSEEN, UNCLEAR AND/OR UNKNOWN”
