1 Peter 3:8-22
8 Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble. 9 Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.
10 For,
“Whoever would love life
and see good days
must keep their tongue from evil
and their lips from deceitful speech.
11 They must turn from evil and do good;
they must seek peace and pursue it.
12 For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous
and his ears are attentive to their prayer,
but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”
13 Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good? 14 But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. “Do not fear their threats; do not be frightened.” 15 But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, 16 keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander. 17 For it is better, if it is God’s will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil. 18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit. 19 After being made alive, he went and made proclamation to the imprisoned spirits— 20 to those who were disobedient long ago when God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being built. In it only a few people, eight in all, were saved through water, 21 and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also—not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ, 22 who has gone into heaven and is at God’s right hand—with angels, authorities and powers in submission to him.
I Peter 2:1-12
"As you come to him, the living Stone—rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him—you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ."
I Peter 1:13-25
"All people are like grass,
and all their glory is like the flowers of the field;
the grass withers and the flowers fall,
but the word of the Lord endures forever."
1 Peter 1:1-12
"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead"
Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations"

We will be heading back into Acts next week! Yew!
We started Acts last year as a church looking at chapters 1 - 7 and now we'll be stepping back into chapters 8 -17. For more info head to anchorchurchcoffs.com.
Hebrews 12:18-24
It's because of Jesus that we can approach the throne of God with confidence!
Psalm 63
Our problem isn't that our desire isn't strong enough, our problem is that we are too easily pleased. We are too easily satisfied with this world. Psalm 63 tells us that God's love is better than life! We are built for more than this world! Don't settle for this world, don't be too easily pleased by this life...settle for the love of God and draw near to him.

Matthew 6:5-15
Our Draw Near series kicked off this week looking into the Lord's Prayer looking into how Jesus instructs us to pray, how to come to God with request in a way that is honouring to him and shaping for us.
Philippians 2:1-11
Darcy digs into Philippians 2:1-11 looking at how and why Jesus shows humility and what that means for us.
Philippians 1:18-30
We had a few technical difficulties so Tim recorded a short summary of his sermon
Philippians 1:1-11
Kicking off our series in Philippians today - Looking at how because Jesus died for us and we can be sure of Jesus’ love for us, we can rejoice in the midst of suffering. How we can be partner and see the gospel go out and how we can seek to encourage each other as brothers and sisters in Christ.
1 Peter 2:24-25
Over the last few weeks we have been going through our Founded series where we look at the foundations of the faith of Christians.
We've looked at God, the Bible, humans and this week Jesus!
Mark 7:14-23 God sent Jesus because we needed a saviour! We need saving from a problem that begins with us and if we never really see the issue with humanity, we won't really be able to celebrate the solution Jesus brings!
2 Timothy 3:14-17 Some say the Bible isn't reliable, that it is a hoax. Some say the Bible has changed over time. Has it changed or is it reliable? Why should we trust tin what the Bible says is reliable?
FOUNDED: The foundations of what we believe. Acts 17:24-31 It is our responsibility to know the God who made us. He made us to know him! Are you seeking him? Have you found him?
Psalm 23
As 2020 comes to a close we reflect on the year and how in 2021 we can be listening and following our Lord.
How great is our God that we have a Lord and Saviour who died for us - it was so good to celebrate this together!
John 3:1-21
God sent his son, Jesus, to save us of our sin on the cross so we can enter a relationship with out God. We have an amazingly loving God!
John 1:15-34
John shows us how we have a trustworthy and dependable God. Let's grow to be a people with spirits of humility, looking to how we can glorify God in all situations.
John 1:1-14
Even though we sinned and turned against our God, in his graciousness and mercy, God comes to us and becomes the man Jesus, not just to reveal himself fully but to also rescue us from the darkness. He takes our sin onto himself and deals with it so that we can now actually recognise and receive the one who made us and loves us.
Why did Jesus die on the cross?
Answer - Titus 2:14
Ultimately...to make a people for himself.
Jesus shed his blood to bring you into his church!
Titus 3:1-15
This is our last week in Titus - it's been a great season digging into it. Get keen to be looking into John in a couple of weeks time.
We have the offer of salvation, not because of what we have done but because of God's love, mercy and compassion. What an awesome God!
Titus 2:11-15
So far through Titus we've heard a bunch of instructions for us as Christians and in this passage we get "'the big why?'".
Titus 2:1-10
The way we live our lives has the ability to attract people to God or repel people from God - That is why our behaviour as Christians matters so much. We find instruction in Titus on how we should live as Christians.
Titus 1:10-16
As we celebrate fathers this weekend we look into Titus to see the importance of teaching the truth and what to do with false teaching.
Jonah 4:5-11
Digging into how we can be spiritually entitled and how we should be concerned about others salvation.
Jonah 4:1-4
Our loving and gracious God shows how he is the ultimate enemy lover. This is shown right through the bible and we see it in Jonah as God shows mercy to Nineveh and we see it for all of us through Jesus' sacrifice on the cross.
Jonah 3
Our God is amazing! He is determined to go after those who don't know him. He will judge sin because he is righteous and holy and he must, but he would far prefer to relent!
Jonah 1:17 - 2:10
Excited to be back in the hall together!
We have a great and loving God that can sympathise with our pain and struggles. We can call out to him about where we are at, cling to him, cry out to him and commit ourselves to him.
Jonah 1:1-16
Still live streaming but back at the hall and hopefully we will have everyone with us next week!
This term we are looking into Jonah for 5 weeks followed by Titus for 5 weeks.
James 3:2-12
During lockdown Dave has been recording and uploading small sermons to YouTube and this week Dave joined us and provided us with a couple of his short sermons from James. So a little bit different this week, you'll first hear a short interview between Tim and Dave followed by 2 short sermons looking at James 3:2-12.
