We are called to submit to the authorities, who are established by God - but there are rare exceptions.
Bondservants - and all workers - are to work in a manner that adorns the doctrines of God.
3 Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good,4 and so train the young women to love their husbands and children,5 to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled.
How should our older men be? Sober minded, dignified, self-controlled, sound in faith, sound in love, and steadfast.
Just as we celebrate the preparation of Jesus's entry into the world this Advent season, we must prepare for the trimphant return of Christ.

Contrary to what our individualistic society promotes, the spiritual life is far more than independent devotion or personal experience - thats where it starts.
