“Out with the old and in with the new “ is a cliche used to describe the beginning of a year, commitment, or idea. However, focus this year on “re-new-ing” commitments or relationships or goals. Find contentment with what you have and seek ways to make better.
God desires a re-newal of following Him. “it DOES matter” that we first of all become a “new creation” with a heart changed from following sin to serving Him.
What areas of life do you need to RENEW?
“This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is Thy faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:21-23“Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from Thy presence; and take not Thy Holy Spirit from me. Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with Thy free spirit.” Psalm 51:10-12
How would you describe this past year? Ups and downs, yays and nays, pros and cons?!
“it DOES matter” that we take stock of what has happened in 2021 and what can be improved in 2022.
“Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:13,14

Thankfulness of heart is an awareness of who someone is or what they have done for you. Who or what are you most thankful?
We’re excited for today’s episode as we highlight God’s Person, His Providence, His Presence, and His Provision.

God’s Word the Bible says in Philippians 4:11-13, “Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ which strengetheneth me.”
These verses represent our guests, Daniel and Patty, who have not only lived and traveled in many of the states in America, but they have also experienced God’s provision and enabling grace through various stages of life’s journey. They are exemplifying Proverbs 27:17 from Gods Word, “Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.”Need mentoring or discipleship?

The "Gibson Girl" has been a great American icon since the early 1900's. But in today's special episode, we are in for a treat as we hear from 3 Gibson Girls, Alisha, Kabryn and Kathryn, who are not only American ideals, but also show Christian authenticity as they sing about their love for Christ and country!
On November 11, the United States of America honors the military veterans which are those who have served in the past and are currently serving as airmen, soldiers, or sailors in one of the 6 branches of service: Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine corps, Navy and the Space Force. Veterans Day celebrations give us great opportunies to pay respect and to remember the more than 21 million men and women who have served in the American military.

The LORD has a spiritual table of goodness and mercy prepared for us. Are we allowing the enemy to come in and distract and destroy our fellowship with God? “it DOES matter” that we listen to the lies of the enemy. Choose rather to focus on God and the promises of rest and peace only He can supply!
“1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. 5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.” Psalm 23

God's Word says, “He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.” (Psalm 126:6)
What a great promise from the Lord! This is a perfect example of sowing and reaping. When we put diligent effort into telling others about Jesus, He promises the increase will come. And we will be singing His praises for all the amazing results that come from sowing the seed of the gospel. "it DOES matter" that every person know that God loves them.
Today we are delighted to have Dr. Al Stone with us. He has seen firsthand how God has blessed his efforts in “planting gospel seeds” in not only the country of Canada, but really around the world. "9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; 10 And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb. 11 And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God, 12 Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. One of the world’s best kept secrets is hidden deep within the woods of Wisconsin. Hunters go there to seek out trophy deer, but God has already found dear trophies of His grace in the hearts of people wanting to know Him!
From its infancy to its current-cy, Northland (also lovingly known as Northland Mission Camp and Bible Institute, Northland Baptist Bible College, Northland International University, and Northland Scholars Academy) has had a heartbeat to serve God and others. We are grateful for the godly impact that “Papa and Mimi” Patz and family and many others down through the years have made in numerous lives.
Joining our podcast episode today are Jeff and Carol Kahl who continue to carry that servants’ heartbeat as they have an impact through the Northland Scholars Academy and the Northland Mission Camp.

"Life is a journey....we are going somewhere." My journey of life will look different from yours, however, in many ways we can relate to each others' path of life. Jesus is "the Way, the Truth, and the Life" and He wants you to know that it DOES matter if.....and.....how you follow the plan He has as your Creator God. Sometimes the journey of life takes us places we may be fearful to travel. But in today's episode, your heart will be encouraged as you hear the amazing ways that God provided for Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, and many others in the Bible. The same God who worked then is still working today! You can flounder or you can flourish in your life's journey. Choose God as your Guide!

Are you focused on work, a promotion, maybe yourself, current events, or even family? It’s super easy to become “overcome” with situations in life when our gaze is horizontal. There’s a medical field of study that is called “optics of the heart” that allows professionals to view outside behaviors that can affect the heart organ. I think of the analogy of our spiritual heart that can easily be influenced through the biblical or the worldly views around us.

I’m really glad that Collin and Justin have teamed up with us as we hash through a topic that can sometimes be a sensitive one and yet I think it’s a necessary discussion. Modesty! What does it mean? Why should we be modest? Or maybe it’s not a big deal if we are modest? Who should be modest? Should only women be modest, or can it also be applicable to men? And how should we be modest? Is modesty just an outward showing or is there something deeper? What does the Bible have to say about modesty and appropriateness that go hand in hand?

Remember Eve in the Garden of Eden? When she was tempted by the enemy, he said “hath God not said?” He was trying to cause doubt in her mind and get her to question the truth of God’s Word.
Sometimes in life we may feel like we know so little. Or we may feel like we are just drifting through life with no purpose or reason to live. Psalm 11:3 says, “If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?” The root word for “foundations” in that verse actually means “purpose, reason, basis” and literally means that if our purpose is lacking or destroyed, then it’s easy to become desensitized to the evil that is all around us. It’s easy then to believe lies that satan, our enemy, tries to feed into our minds.

Journeys….there are verses in the Bible that highlight those who tell others about Jesus. In the book of Romans chapter 10 and verses 14-15 we read, 14 How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, ‘How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! God delights in people who are willing to go into all the world and tell others about the saving grace of Jesus.
It’s really an honor to have 3 new friends on our show today who are walking that journey. Elisabeth, Joshua and Bethany have just returned to the States from being missionaries with their parents and we want to hear their perspective on living life in a country other than their parents’ homeland.
Missionary Kids or MK’s are often referred to as TCK’s (Third Culture Kids) and have some amazing character qualities that are developed because of their resiliency and ability to adapt well. However, it may be hard for MK’s to articulate some of the struggles and blessings they face with having to live in countries far from their relatives. But today, we want to hear from these 3 young people who are willing to share a glimpse into their lives so that we can know how best to pray for Third Culture Kids.

Leadership! Have you ever felt alone in a situation….like you were the only one taking a stand for what is right? Maybe you looked around and saw others who were slacking or disregarding a task or a position.
The Lord is looking for men to fill voids in the world. In God’s Word, the Bible, the book of Ezekiel 22:30 says, “And I sought for a man among them that should make up the hedge and stand in the gap before Me for the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found none.” Today's emphasis is on male leadership, but females also can take to heart some truths for taking a stand for the Lord as well.
Collin suggests ways to lead well:
^ Clean your own room (Matthew 7:5)
^ Stand in the gap (Ezekiel 22:30)
^ Contend for the Faith (Galatians 1:8,9)

Today we are delighted to have a homeschool mom on our show with us. Jenn is a BJ Press homeschool consultant and has a fascinating story that she and her family have been weaving together so please welcome her into your hearts and into your home as you listen.
In most parts of the world, schools are taking breaks to sort of reset for the upcoming school terms. That’s also a great time for families to spend extra opportunities to relax, to catch up on other work, and to explore places together. Whether you send your kids to a traditional school or you school them in your home, education is a vital developmental period for young people. The Bible should be our standard for rearing children for the Lord.
Deuteronomy 6:5-95 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. 6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: 7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. 8 And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes. 9 And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.
Education begins in the home. The Lord desires parents to intentionally choose to teach their children God’s Word. And it’s also important that they grow not only in their knowledge of the Bible but also in other areas as we read in Luke 2:52 of our perfect example: “*And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.”

Meditation…. What is it? Who should we meditate on? Why should we meditate? How should we mediate?
We can all relate to times of feeling so overwhelmed with events going on in our lives that our thoughts seem to get the better of us. Sometimes those thoughts can make us happy, or scared, or sad, or even depressed. The Bible talks about meditation that can influence our thoughts. Psalm 19:14 from God’s Word the Bible says, “Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Thy sight, O Lord, my Strength and my Redeemer.” That’s such a powerful verse that reflects just how much God cares about our thoughts and our meditation.

Today’s show kicks off our summer theme of “Fun in the Sun as we Grow in the Son”, and that of course refers to Jesus, Who desires for all people to know Him as their Saviour. At Christian camps we can get away from the noise of city life and into a quiet environment where we we can enjoy God’s creation. It’s also a great place for the Lord to change hearts thru Bible preaching and teaching. Friendships are made and daring acts are exploited. Maybe you would like to create your own camp opportunities for family by hosting a “Grandma’s Camp”.
Today’s episode highlights stories from campers, counselors and directors. Perhaps you feel led to attend or to give so others may attend camp.

“To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.” Isaiah 61:3

Some of you may have friends or family members who are graduating from kindergarten, high school, college or even other levels of higher learning.
Throughout all of the busyness, we hope you will take time to look back and reflect on how God has helped you or that graduate over the course of learning. Today we want to do just that as we are honored to have Michael Huygens with us who is a recent graduate of Bible college.
There is an even higher level of learning which is knowing God’s Word. We want to encourage all our listeners, whether you have attended college or not, you can pursue that higher level of studying God’s Word. Read the Bible, memorize its words, and meditate on the truths that God shows as your heart is changed.

Today we have an exciting episode as we talk about adoption. “For this child I prayed; and the Lord hath given me my petition which I asked of him:” (1 Samuel 1:27) Not all adoptions have happy beginnings or endings, so today we would like to talk about some of those ups and downs. My friends and I are glad to have Vanessa Shaffer joining us today as she shares about the journey God has taken her and her husband through in adopting.
“To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.” Galatians 4:5-7
"For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father." (Romans 8:15)

We are quickly approaching Mother’s Day and in the next couple of episodes you, our listeners, will have the opportunity to hear amazing stories of how moms have influenced their families. Previously in episode 12, we interviewed Amy who shared with us about some tough choices that were presented in her path of life, and yet she made right choices which made a huge impact on the lives of her children. I’m super excited for today’s episode as we are joined by Amy’s son Austin who has been on an incredible journey in his short time on earth. May you also catch Austin's enthusiasm for studying the Bible and for honoring God even while following after business entrepreneurs!

Usually when we have an interview with a guest on our show, we ask them “How are you doing?” But today, we want to ask that question of you, our listeners. “How are you doing?” You can answer that in your mind or even out loud if you want. When someone asks that question of us, we may respond with “Fine”, or “Good”, or I have a friend who usually answers “I’m pretty OK”. But those answers can all give an indication that everything is going smooth and there are no troubles going on in life. Yet deep down there are struggles. You may be in a situation at work, or home, or at school where you do not see any way out of the darkness. You may be feeling pretty scared, lonely, or even despairing about a situation in life. You may even be having suicidal thoughts because you feel that is your only “OUT”. But stay with us, because today we will not only talk about signs and symptoms of stress factors, but we will offer guidance from personal experiences as well as the most needed help from God’s Word, the Bible.
Today the three of us friends would like to talk about things related to stress, worry, fear, depression. And it is our prayerful desire that by the end of this episode you will allow the Prince of Peace to give you a peace that passes all understanding.
"Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you." (1 Peter 5:5-7)
How can we effectively be a witness for Jesus around the world if we ourselves are not able to travel around the world? A scarlet theme runs throughout the entire Bible. From Genesis to Revelation, we can see how God made possible redemption from our sins through the precious shed blood of Jesus Christ on the cross. “it DOES matter” whether you believe that Jesus is alive or not. He is alive and wants to live in your heart. Because Jesus lives, we can also live with Him in heaven for all eternity. Do you know Jesus as your Savior? This Easter weekend would be a wonderful time to put your faith and trust in Jesus alone. 🙏🏽

There are no language barriers with God. He is worthy to be praised in every tongue as the verse Isaiah 12:5 reminds us, “Sing unto the Lord; for he hath done excellent things: this is known in all the earth.”The Bible talks about the importance of good music. In the book of Ephesians from the Bible, we can read about how Christians, followers of Jesus Christ, can mature in their walk with the Lord. Verse 19 says, “Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;”
Colossians 3:16 & 17 from the Bible says,“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.”Psalm 147:1 say,“Praise ye the Lord: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely (or fitting).”
Being vulnerable is hard. Putting your life story out there sometimes is hard too. Yet God can grow others in similar ways that He grows you if you allow your story to be told through the eyes of “His~story” for your life. "Faithful is He that calleth you, who also will do it."
(1 Thessalonians 5:24)
Shelley shares how God’s faithfulness has carried her through years of “wandering” across America and around the world. "For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure." (Philippians 2:13)
Many changes are going on around the world, and especially in America, so how can we respond with godliness? "If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven;" (Colossians 1:23)
In this episode with our guest Pastor Keith Carnahan, terminology will be defined such as progressive, progressive Christianity, critical theory, critical race theory, intersectionality, WOKE Christianity. "it DOES matter" what we the Bible has to say about each of these ideas.
PRAY for our leaders to make wise choices and choose integrity over majority.

Bible References: "But Jesus knew their thoughts, and said to them: “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand." (Matthew 12:25)
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words." 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18

How in the world can we pray for our world? Today we are going to talk about ways to pray for our world. It’s a great big wonderful place. We can pray generally, but we can also pray specifically. Pray alphabetically. If you look on the internet, there are about 200 independent countries, and many territories and sovereign nations. If you prayed for one country per day, you would be able to pray for all of them in a year. On an average you would be praying for 18 countries per month. So maybe on the weekends you could review the ones you prayed for earlier in the week. Pray when you hear the news. You can also pray for people around the world as you hear about their situations that come up in the news. Pray the 60 seconds it takes to brush your teeth. Pray for hearts to be responsive to the Holy Spirit who wants to convict them of sin. Pray for eyes to be opened to the truth of God as Creator of the world. Pray for hearts to receive Jesus as their Savior.
“Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.” Romans 8:26, 27
Ephesians 6:1,2; Romans 10:13; 2 Corinthians 2:15;1 Timothy 2:1-4; James 5:16.
“And David was greatly distressed....but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God.” 1 Samuel 30:6
Our topic of discussion today is not an easy one but definitely necessary if we are going to have complete victory in our Christian lives. Can you think of someone in your life who has wronged you? Maybe to the point that you hope you never see them again because they have hurt you so terribly. More than one person may have wronged us, too.
2 Timothy 4:14; Micah 7:18; Matthew 6:15; Ephesians 4:32; Matthew 18:21,22; Matthew 12:45; Ephesians 1:7; Micah 6:8
“it DOES matter” that we choose to forGIVE.
“And He (God) is before all things, and by Him all things consist.” {Colossians 1:17}
We hear a lot about God, but in reality, why should a person even care if there is a God?Who created God? Why do Christians, those who are followers of the God of the Bible, say there is only one God? Does God exist outside of time?
These questions and more will be answered as our friend Collin Pearson is back with us in this episode as we talk about the existence of God. Collin is a diligent student of the Bible and without apology wants others to know who God is. “it DOES matter” what you believe.
Search the Bible: Revelation 22:13; 10:6; Genesis 20:3; Deuteronomy 6:4; 1 Kings 18; Matthew 7:13-14; John 10:20 and following; John 10:31; Matthew 16:6; 2 Peter 1:15,16

It's great to have Daniel and Bonnie joining us today. We're grateful for their US Air Force military service as family.
Listeners, did you know that Creator God delights in you? You are made in His image and created for a purpose unique only to you. Psalm 37:4,5 says, “Delight thyself also in the Lord: and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in Him; and He shall bring it to pass.”
God has an intentional plan for our lives and He puts desires within us. When we seek the Lord first in salvation and then in surrender to follow His path, then we will see our heart’s desires fulfilled.
“For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not.”
2 Corinthians 8:12
Proverbs 16:9 say, “A man's heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.”
Oftentimes we have a plan for our lives and hope it turns out that way, and yet our Sovereign Lord and Commander in Chief ultimately carries out the plan He wants to accomplish in our lives. The Vidrine family has an amazing story to share about the faithful God who has carried them through military life.
Today we are going back to some basics of our Christian faith in God. Perhaps over time you have heard the words “salvation….saved….faith….grace….sin….Savior” what do these words mean and Who do they refer to? To know the truthful meaning of these words, we need to go to the Bible which is God’s Word, His love letter and His message of hope for all the world. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16

INFLUENCER: a person who has the power to affect others through behavior, development or words. Everyone is an influencer in some way or another, whether positively or negatively. How do you influence people or situations in your life?
Some of you might really get into setting resolutions or goals. And others of you may have an attitude of “c’est la vie”..…more of an attitude of “that’s just life”. But I really believe that as children of the Most High God, He desires more from us than just an attitude of “whatever.” God intentionally created each and every person to be an INFLUENCER. And whatever our sphere of influence, we do influence whether it’s done intentionally or unintentionally.
“....That in all things He {Christ} might have the preeminence.” Colossians 1:18
Pretty amazing that we are recording our final podcast episode for this year of 2020! Today we would like to reflect back on some highlights of this past year and then move forward with some intentional goals that we may have for 2021.
“But the liberal (noble, generous, honourable) deviseth liberal things; and by liberal things shall he stand. And the work of righteousness (goodness, decency, integrity, virtue)shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance (security, confidence) for ever.” (Isaiah 32:8, 17)

Those who have been with us long, have “met” several special people; however, today we want to introduce you to the GREATEST Person ever born….our Savior Jesus Christ. Though we know that December 25th isn’t the actual day in which Christ was born, it is the day that we remember and celebrate His birth. Kind of like when you have a Tuesday birthday and you have the big celebration the following Saturday.
So today we are simply going to read you reason for the season through the Scriptures.
Micah 5:2; Isaiah 7:13, 14; Isaiah 9:6; Matthew 1:18-25; Luke :2:1-20; Matthew 2:1-12; 2 Corinthians 8:9; 2 Corinthians 5:21
The greatest gift you gave give Jesus is a heart that is trusting in and surrendered to Him.
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."Pray today and invite Jesus to be your Savior from your sins. Merry CHRISTmas!!
THANK YOU, Paula, for writing this week's script! Thank you also to Francine, Lori, Michelle, Mary, and Michelle for sharing memories about your Christmas traditions. Thank you to the 2 little voices who also joined in our special birthday celebration for JESUS.
This time of year we are not only wrapping presents to put under Christmas trees, but we are also wrapping up another year of our lives. Looking back over this eventful year, we want to encourage all of our listeners to finish strong and start the next year even stronger in following hard after Jesus.
We are delighted to have Wendy Speake joining our podcast today. She has been following hard after the Lord for many years and we are excited to hear what God has been doing in her life. Wendy is an actress, Bible teacher, author, and a speaker so we are really looking forward to hearing more from her today.

Have you ever had times where you wanted to know God’s will for a specific decision or direction in life. You had several options, and yet there was only the best choice you were desiring to follow. Is God’s will ambiguous? Is His path in life unclear? Does He leave us in confusion as to which choices we should make? I love the verse from Jeremiah 29:13 that says, “And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.”
“it DOES matter” to God what paths we follow in life.
It’s really awesome to have a college friend joining us today who will be sharing about times when she was seeking God’s will for her life and how He gave direction. Lori and the three of us friends here on the podcast went to a Bible college up in the beautiful and sometimes frozen woods near the upper peninsula of Michigan. We made some really fun memories together with Lori.
***"Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert." {Isaiah 43:18,19}
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." {Romans 10:13}***
“Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.” {2 Corinthians 9:15}
As we reminisce about Christmas traditions we hope to inspire all of you who anticipate this special time of year. Not every person has fond memories of Christmas….for some it can bring on mixed emotions…but we hope that after today’s episode, your heart will be a little more merry to step away from tough emotions and to step toward terrific motions of helping others make good memories this year. Lights remind us of the true Light of the world who is Jesus. Let Him shine brightly though your holiday season!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
Listening friends, whether you gather with loved ones this week around the table or through audio or video connections, may you all show intentional gratitude this Thanksgiving as you celebrate God’s intentional grace in your lives.
Psalm 68:19 from the Bible says,“Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah.” There are numerous blessings we can highlight, so as that “selah” reminds us, let’s pause and consider and praise our God.
So sit back and listen up as voices around the world show the gratitude attitude for God’s goodness in their lives.
THANK YOU 💞 to all who participated in giving thanks: Ruth, Mollie, Alissia, Eve, Manami, Patty A., Darla, Eric, Paula (verse), Carrie, Makayla, Cindy, Kate, Carolyn, Paula (verse), Sharon, Carla, Corina, Amelia, Shelley, Michelle, Megan, Merrie, Patty R., Justin, Collin, Paula

Have you ever wondered what your mission in life is? Why are you placed on this earth? Is it to do whatever you want or is it to fulfill a much higher mission…one that will be completely satisfying and glorifying to God? I’m reminded of the verse 1 Samuel 12:24 that says, “Only fear the Lord, and serve Him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things he hath done for you.”
Today we are delighted to have with us on our podcast our friend Michelle who has chosen to follow the higher mission of leaving homeland and going to new lands with the goal of sharing the Good News of Jesus.
Thanks for joining us in this “Pastor Appreciation” episode. The Bible tells us in
I Timothy 5:17 to “Let the elders (leaders, pastors) that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.”
Pastors are called by God and have many responsibilities. They are entrusted by God to lead groups of people through biblical preaching. They are often counselors and teachers. Some pastors are often seen in other capacities as they help with janitorial, landscaping, or musical ministries too. During this time of the global pandemic, pastors have been called upon to continue leading their churches through means of media as they preach services over the internet and to have counseling sessions through various uses of technology. We are very grateful for pastors around the world.
Later in this podcast you will hear shout outs from around the world from many who want to share gratitude for what their pastor means to them.
Special thanks for having a part in our podcast:

We are excited to air our 25th podcast episode today! I am amazed at how the Lord continues to bless this platform of getting the Good News of Jesus out to so many around the world. Today it’s an honor to be joined in this episode by Katie who is an amazing boy mom of three, or four if you count her husband, and her journey of following the Lord is intriguing as she shares the ups and downs of moving family around the world and yet the stability only God can give to hearts that are surrendered to serve Him.
Today we have a fun and practical episode as the three of us friends share tips on keeping house…or rather trying to keep house. Whether we are single or married, “it DOES matter” if we are being a wise steward or not over the things that God has given to us. In this episode we want to get down to the “nitty gritty” and encourage you with some “gritty grace” in being a keeper at home. Titus 2:1-8 "But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine: 2 That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience. 3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; 4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, 5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed. 6 Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded. 7 In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity, 8 Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.recommended website: fly lady

We are living in times of uncharted waters for our generations. As people experience radical changes worldwide it has also caused some radical behavior which leads to questioning God and His concern for things that really matter in life. They may ask questions such as “Where are you God? Do you even see what is going on and do you even care?” Yes, “it DOES matter” whether we know that God cares.

At times we can all feel drained physically, spiritually, mentally and even emotionally. But have you “tapped into your Power Source” today? “it DOES matter” from whom or what we are getting our strength. Even Jesus’ disciples (followers) asked of Him, “Lord, teach us to pray”. (Luke 11)
Today we want to not only talk about Prayer but we want to take time to pray in this episode and we invite you to join us as we use the acrostic ACTS to guide our time together. No matter what country you live in, 2 Chronicles 7:13 and 14 from the Bible remind us that change, revival, restoration must first begin with Christians.
13 If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people;
14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Today we remember those who perished during the 9/11 attacks in America. And we also remember many around the world who are persecuted for their faith in Christ.
Storms are inevitable. They can come at us in the most unexpected time and ways. Are you going through a storm of life…financial; spiritual; marital; emotional? The safest place in the midst of a storm is in the eye. God’s Word says, “I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.” {Psalm 32:8}
“it DOES matter” that we have someone to call upon who will help. Jesus wants to be that Someone to help us.
God’s promise to help: “A land which the Lord thy God careth for: the eyes of the Lord thy God are always upon it, from the beginning of the year even unto the end of the year.” {Deuteronomy 11:12}
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” {Romans 10:13}
During this month of August we are highlighting students who have walked a variety of educational paths. Some have homeschooled, were in a private Christian school, or attended public schools. The Bible tells us in 2 Timothy 2:15 that we should “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” As followers of Jesus, “it DOES matter” how we encourage our young people to stand strong in their faith in God. Not only can they learn from us, but we too must learn from them as they express struggles and victories they may encounter at school or among their peers. Both ladies encourage people to journal their special times with the Lord as it helps to remember His goodness and interactions in our lives that matter to Him. It’s awesome to have friends Michelle and Manami with us and we are so glad you our listening friends are joining us on this journey of discovering what really matters to God from a biblical and a practical perspective.
Luke 2:52 sets the perfect and the well-balanced example of how young lives should be nurtured, “And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.” Parents can influence their children not only in the 3 r’s: reading, ‘riting, and ‘rithmetic, but they can also make a great impact on the minds and hearts of their children. “it DOES matter” how parents, their first teachers, influence the children that God places in their homes. We all have heroes in our lives that we want to emulate. A hero is an example of someone who has outstanding achievements or stellar qualities that you want to follow. And today it’s awesome to have three homeschool heroes joining us who are siblings and who also had the privilege of being homeschooled throughout elementary and high school.
Ashlyn, Justin, and Collin offer great advice on how parents and children can have a growth mindset as they learn together through life’s journey.
Collin also recommends parents reading Your Personality Tree by Florence Littauer.
"But the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits."
{Daniel 11:32b} In our society today, the world wants to hold high athletes, or movie stars, or even business entrepreneurs...but "it DOES matter" who we esteem highly. Not that we put people on a pedestal or on the same level as God, no, but rather God encourages us to give honor to those men and women who are faithfully serving Him with their lives as they serve others. In this special episode we are delighted to interview our very own Paula from here on the podcast. Your heart will be blessed as you hear about how she handled separation from family, second language flubbers, adventurous fun, and enduring faith in God as a missionary.
"For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew Himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him." {1 Chronicles 16:9a}
We are delighted to have Ruth joining us from NASA today. You will learn not only how nuts and bolts interface together, but also how we as image bearers of God can be unified as we interface with one another. As an engineering intern, Ruth has a working knowledge of how God, our Master Designer, has a purpose for us as His creation. “it DOES matter” that we understand our purpose in life is to bring glory to God in the way He has designed us. Ruth reminds us to be a faithful steward: “each area of our life, in the tiny details, such as our everyday interactions with each other and our habits, are important in reflecting the Master Designer. We are to be living testimonies of our Designer by being conformed to the image of Christ.”
CHOSEN! Has there been a time in your life where you felt unwanted? Maybe you were chosen last for a team sport, or not at all. Or perhaps you were passed over for a promotion at work. Our guest interviewed this week went through times in life when she felt unwanted. But she also has a peace that God has “chosen” her to be His! And "it DOES matter" that you realize God has chosen you to be His child...you just need to receive His gift of salvation!

Isaiah 43:2-3; Hebrews 3:13; Proverbs 19:11; Psalm 61:2; Isaiah 30:26; Psalm 23:1; Psalm 145:5; Hebrews 6:10
Today we have a practical topic that all of us will face many times in our lives. How do we handle FEAR? It can come at us from different angles…whether it’s going down a zipline for the first time, or giving a speech in front of a crowd of people, hearing the doctor’s words that a terminal illness has been discovered…the feelings of fear are very real. So today, we would like to share some of our struggles and challenges as well as offer encouragement to each other and the rest of our listening audience.
God wants all of mankind to know Him as a personal Savior from sin.
Admit that you are a sinner who has offended a holy God.
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." {Romans 3:23}
Believe that Jesus Christ, the sinless Son of God is able to pay for the penalty of sin.
"Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved." {Acts 16:31}
Confess your sin to God and Call on Him to save you from that sin.
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." {Romans 10:13}

"Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid; for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song: He also is become my salvation. Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation. And in that day shall ye say, 'Praise the LORD, call upon His name, declare His doings among the people, make mention that His name is exalted.' Sing unto the LORD; for He hath done excellent things; this is known in all the earth." Isaiah 12:2-5Choices…they come at all of us from many sides, right? We choose to get up in the morning, what to wear, eat, or do with our time. No matter how old we are, "it DOES matter" that we make good choices because it will affect not only our lives but also the lives of others.
We are delighted to have with us today our friend, Amy Lostroh, who had to make some tough choices that made a huge impact in her life and in the lives of her family.
"I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well." Psalm 139:14
What is your most important time of the day? Eating? Playing? Working? Sleeping? As we three friends share about our most important time of the day, we hope you will be challenged to make it yours too! "it DOES matter" how every person spends time.
"That the LORD thy God may shew us the way wherein we may walk, and the thing that we may do." {Jeremiah 42:3}

It's an honor to have Justin Pearson with us. You will be blessed and motivated as you listen to his inspirational testimony.
The God of Heaven is looking down from above the clouds to see how He can help those who have a heart to follow Him. God wants to give strength and guidance to all who faithfully obey Him. "it DOES matter" that you too follow the Lord!
"The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and He delighteth in his way." {Psalm 37:23}

Sometimes we want to control the timetable that we are living. Yet through all the buzz of a busy life, God says to us in His calm voice, "Wait...be still...rest."
Verses used in today's episode: Matthew 8:23–27; Mark 4:35–41; Luke 8:22–25; Isaiah 43:2; I Corinthians 10:31; 2 Chronicles 16:9; Isaiah 30:15; Psalm 46:10; Isaiah 40:3; 2 Peter 3:8-11.
Sung at the end of this episode..."Holy Place" words and music by Mac Lynch copyright by THE WILDS, used by permission. https://wilds.org/store/products/printed-music/songbook/
"There is a holy place far from the rapid pace where I seek face to face my God and King.
I must go every day, and that without delay, to read His Word and pray and praises bring.
The Word of God will light the darkest path, its treasures flow with strength anew.
Help me to hide its Words within my heart; take this hour, make me more like You!
So from my holy place back to my rapid pace I bravely run the race He set for me.
He'll lead me all the way if I His Word obey and on the altar lay anxiety.
The Word of God will light the darkest path, its treasures flow with strenght anew.
Help me to hide its Words within my heart; take this hour, make me more like You!
Take this hour, make me more like You!
{Piano played and sung by Shelley}
When is the last time you had a hearty laugh? Stresses and pressures in life can weigh us down, but a good laugh can lift our spirits! Proverbs 17:22 from the Bible says, "A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones." Whatever age or stage you are in life, "it DOES matter" what is happening. God created our bodies and He knows that laughter can be a great stress reliever! So sit back and relax....put your feet up and your cup down...and get ready to laugh with us! Be sure to listen all the way to the end of the podcast for surprise BLOOPERS! :)

Sometimes you may feel like you are left on this earth to muddle with fate. Yet, "it DOES matter" that a merciful Savior is there to help along each twist and turn in life.

Gold is a precious commodity on earth, and is even found in Heaven, but the process that this soft metal must go through to become more pure can be lengthy and involve various techniques. Difficulties in life could be compared to the purification process of gold, and “it DOES matter” how we respond throughout tough times.
Rebecca Vaughn shares her testimony of amazing grace after surviving a house fire when a child. Her family's story is written in "More Precious Than Gold".Miss Vaughn has written a sequel entitled "No Greater Love".Copies of these stories can be purchased through the links below.

“I Shall Come Forth As Gold”
Words and Music by Sharon copyright 1978
(dedicated by her to the Vaughn family)
My faith sometime soon God may test,
But on His dear Word I must rest,
For God always knows what is best,
And I shall come forth as gold.
For I shall come forth as gold.
Yes, I shall come forth as gold.
Though God may test me and try me,
Still I shall come forth as gold.
The way may seem so rough and steep,
And I may go through waters deep,
Sow’ng in tears but in joy I’ll soon reap,
Then I shall come forth as gold.
If your faith were tested today,Go
Would it stand true let come what may?
Could you in your heart with Job say,
“Yes, I shall come forth as gold”?
Faith in Christ must be strong and true.
My courage and strength He’ll renew,
Giving a sweet peace and joy anew,
And I shall come forth as gold.
For I shall come forth as gold.
Yes, I shall come forth as gold.
Though God may test me and try me,
Still I shall come forth as gold.
