Judgment Seat of Christ For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad. 2 Corinthians 5:10For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil. Ecclesiastes 12:14Donald Gray Barnhouse wrote:We can be sure that at the judgment seat of Christ there will be marked difference between the Christian who has lived his life before the Lord clearly discerning what was for the glory of God and another who was saved in a rescue mission at the tag end of a depraved and vicious life. All will be in heaven, but the differences will be eternal.”Judgment Seat RewardsThis is one of the more difficult passages to understand. There seems to be many more questions than answers. Why have rewards? Won’t being in heaven with God, experiencing the joys of heaven will be so wonderful its hard to understand why rewards are needed. Adding to the confusion, the rewards are referred to as crowns and there is some suggestion that we will throw our crowns at his feet.I’ve come to the conclusion that crowns are symbolic and that the rewards are some form responsibility.0 the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne and worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say:11 “You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.”Revelation 4:10,115 Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.1 Corinthians 9:25,264 And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.1 Peter 5:4
