Welcome to Mr. Game Boy. This is a podcast for gamers and anyone who loves video games. Hosted by Gabe Walerysiak, a communications student and a video game enthusiast his entire life, expect a lot of gaming news, opinions, and discussions as I deliver the latest and greatest the gaming world has to offer. Sit back, relax, and enjoy listening to my take on the video game industry.
This week on Mr. Game Boy, Matt Travia and I take a look at the main categories for The Game Awards and we make our predictions on who we think is going to win, and who we want to see win. We also analyze the new platform fighter MultiVersus from Warner Bros!
This week, Matt and I go over the new Halo Infinite campaign overview video from an objective standpoint, discuss Call of Duty and it's interesting history, as well as discuss Netflix's desire to enter the video game market by releasing its game subscription service today.
The Uncharted movie trailer was just announced, "A Quiet Place" is getting a video game series, and last-gen games such as Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3 are getting their next-gen releases delayed. Matt and I discuss all of this and more on this week's episode of Mr. Game Boy!
This week, Matt Travia and I discuss Michelangelo being banned from Super Smash Con, the absurd pricing of the new Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack, the contract negotiations between EA Sports and FIFA about the exclusive rights to the name FIFA, and we go over the awful conditions that are placed on reviewers who have to try and complete games and write a full review by the time the embargo lifts.
This week on Mr. Game Boy, I speak with Matt Travia and Sean Keenan about Sora's long-awaited and near-unlikely arrival to Smash Ultimate as the final DLC character ever. This is a bitter sweet and special moment for the character, and all of us as Smash has been a large part of our lives for the past decade. We talk about our reactions to the character, what we expect, and go down memory lane with some of our favorite Smash Bros. memories.
Welcome back to another week of Mr. Game Boy! Matt and I are back at it again, and with a quick week, we discuss the winner of the IGN gaming bracket as well as have an open discuss about gaming's recent historical accuracy and how that's made an impact on some classroom learning experiences. Do you think video games deserve a spot in the classroom? Watch to listen to our takes!
There was plenty to talk about between Matt and I for this week's episode of Mr. Game Boy. IGN's Best Video Game of All Time bracket has come down to the Final Four, while Nintendo hosted their Nintendo Direct presentation a few days ago. Many games were announced, but among the most unexpected was the casting choices they made for the feature-length animated Mario movie. Matt and I discuss our opinions on those choice and many more in this week's episode!
IGN released a March-madness style bracket of video games that fans vote every few days to determine what is the best video game of all time. Matt and I discuss the current sweet 16, as well as the most likely elite 8 and make our predictions as to what the final four will be. We discuss a few upcoming games coming out this year, as well as have a discussion on what makes a video game considered one of the best of all time.
Join Gabe and Matt as they discuss the 2021 PlayStation Showcase presentation, revealing their favorite games from the event and their most anticipated games heading into the Holiday season. Matt has also acquired a PS5, so we discuss his experiences with the console and what games he looks forward to playing on it.
This was a MAJOR week in gaming! Well, actually two to three weeks, but you get the point. We had Gamescom 2020, the Super Mario Bros. 35th Anniversary Direct, a Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War Multiplayer worldwide reveal, and now we have not only the price and release date for the Xbox Series X, but the reveal, price, and release date for their low budget console, the Xbox Series S! Will Playstation return with prices of their own? Only time can tell, but for now, everything we know so far, and our reactions, are discussed on this week's episode of Mr. Game Boy!
Welcome back to the Mr. Game Boy podcast! This week's episode features a very special guest - my cousin Jesse! He has been around since the days of the Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis, so after I watched the new High Score documentary this week on Netflix, I thought it was the perfect chance to get him on the show to talk about not only that, but a bunch of other gaming news, ranging from Call of Duty to a new Smash Ultimate online mode that has been exclusive to Japan thus far. Will it come to the States?? We don't know. All that and more on this week's podcast!

I am with my trusty guest Matt Travia as we discuss the latest in gaming news across the past two weeks! I have a very special guest on the show with me this week: up-and-comiing hip-hop/rap artist Tmain!! He is such a big music fan and I was really excited to get him on the show to talk about video game music and soundtracks, as they are one of my most favorite aspects of video games. They are so under-appreciated so I felt it was necessary to dedicate an entire episode to talking about them. I hope you enjoy it!
This is a very entertaining episode! We talk all over the realm of gaming - from WWE 2K falling apart to Pokemon Sword and Shield, to Warzone, to the major sports video games and our wish list for the future of gaming. Join us for a very fun discussion!!
This is an entirely Playstation filled episode, containing information on the recent Unreal Engine 5 demo, which I found super exciting, alongside some hype-filled discussion on The Last of Us Part II videos from Sony, some information on Assassin's Creed Valhalla, and a discussion on the State of Play featuring Ghost of Tsushima. All of which coming out later this summer or this year. I hope you enjoy this episode!!
For those of you who know me personally, I am a huge Nintendo fan, so it was very cool to get to talk an entire episode with one of my friends about all things Nintendo and Super Mario. We talk about the Mario games we've played in quarantine, all of the 3D Mario remaster rumors, the brand new Paper Mario Origami King game that was recently announced, and some ideas we'd like to see from a potential future Mario Kart game! If you are a fan of Mario or Nintendo in general, then this is definitely the show to listen to!
This is the first episode where I have more than two people. This week I have 4 people on the show! It is a lot of fun, as we talk about various things, such as the games we're playing in quarantine, RoboCop in Mortal Kombat 11, hackers getting into TLOU2 and old Nintendo consoles, as well as our review of the Inside Xbox "Gameplay" event that happened this past Thursday. Tune in for a very fun show about the latest in gaming news!
For anyone who enjoys Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019) or any Call of Duty game in general, you'll love this discussion as we talk about the supposed new rumors surrounding the new Call of Duty game. I also bring into light the controversy surrounding The Last of Us Part II and Naughty Dog's reported working conditions. Join us for a very interesting discussion on all things gaming!
This episode features a special guest in Isaiah John! Together, we talk about various games, including WWE 2K21 getting cancelled, Super Mario Maker 2 getting its last major update and all of the latest rumors surrounding the Xbox Series X. We also discuss the games we have been playing during our time in isolation. It's a very relaxed episode, so I hope you enjoy it!
Hello! This week I have my brother on as a special guest and I ask him all about the games he is playing today, as well as taking a quick trip down memory lane by discussing the games we used to play when we were kids. I let my brother talk about everything he's playing and why he enjoys playing online multiplayer games with friends over almost any other type of game experience. I hope you all enjoy this episode!
Welcome to the VERY FIRST EPISODE of Mr. Game Boy!! I am beyond excited to start this weekly series with you all, and I hope you have a blast listening to it. Feedback is always welcomed and appreciated! Today, I am talking about the rumors that surfaced about Super Mario's big 35th anniversary plans, as well as listing off the specs we currently know about the PS5 and Xbox Series X. This is a solo episode, but I do plan on getting guests on the show for future episodes. I hope you enjoy!
