Fibromyalgia has been a big problem for Dominique McQuade. She has tried many different methods to relieve the pain. She also developed an acute spinal injury, which exacerbated her overall pain. She saw the iFloat brochure at a local hospital in May 2015 and she thought floating would help. Dominique participated in iFloat's 12 week research program where people with chronic symptoms, such as anxiety and pain, float once a week and fill out surveys before and after their float. David Conneely, in the very first iFloat Radio podcast, interviews iFloat client Mike Seabrook who has been floating awhile, and recently took the Introduction to the Rewrite class in Westport, CT. Mike was introduced to floating by his fiancée, but was skeptical until he tried it for himself. Says Mike: "It let me know what real relaxation was. When you're in that space there is no other option, you just become relaxed. That addictive in and of itself to be able to calm down that much."
Mike is a Mechanical Engineer at GE by day, and by night is a jiu jitsu practitioner and an instructor at 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu in Hartford. After taking the Intro class he realized that before the class he was seeing the world in 2D, and after the class he could see the third dimension.
