The baptism of the Holy Spirit is a foundational truth in the Word of God. This was expressed in the life of Jesus when He got water baptised and the Holy Spirit descended on Him like a dove after He came out of the water, launching Him into a ministry of miracles, signs and wonders. Any attempt to please God in our own strength or in our own way is very laborious and cannot produce a lasting fruit. In fact, our righteousness is like filthy rags before God.
