It's all over! The culmination of the domestic and international season has passed and it was all a bit weird....
There were lethargic European title wins for Liverpool and Chelsea, which was then followed up with the Nations League where England were poor, The Netherlands were a tad better and Portugal were the eventual winners with everyone's favourite winker CR7 lifting the trophy to put them double European competition holders at the moment. Oh and also, Villa went up in the Championship Play Offs....that's the real quiz!
That's all for us for this season too.....join us next season for a change of scenery and some new ideas.

The FA Cup semi finals served up one classic and one instantly forgettable affair as Watford went through to face Manchester City who are in the hunt for the unprecedented quadruple still! Meanwhile, their rivals in the Premier League had a win down on the South Coast, as did Burnley who look to stave off the relegation vulchers. No such joy for Huddersfield who had Leicester entertaining the masses in West Yorkshire. Another big weekend in The Championship and South-West Europe and a safe effort in the quiz.

We’ve had loads of games since we last spoke. England are brilliant and won their second game of the qualifying campaign as well as moved up to 4th in the world. Harry Kane and Gareth Southgate have received MBE’s and OBE’s respectively and that’s just international football. We’ve got a thrilling title race, a couple of relegation's and battles for the champions league and premier league places hotting up. Not to mention the Championship, a trip to Portugal, a fantasy football round up and of course a no doubt piss poor show in the quiz!

It's only the bloody international break and it's been brilliant! England are flying and started the campaign with a 5-0 win over the Czech's at the home of football, Wembley. Elsewhere, the home nations were a mixed bag. Wales got off to a winning start with the new regime under Ryan Giggs, Northern Ireland won 2 from 2, whilst Big Mick's Green Army grabbed their first 3 points, as did Scotland in the second game, this was after going down embarrassingly in Kazakhstan first.

We're back and we're coming in and around your ears!
It's a week mixed with the FA Cup and Premier League. Plenty of VAR controversy as ever with unfairness smattered all over the place at Swansea and The Den. Wolves, Watford triumph along with City and Brighton to complete the FA Cup semi final line up. What a treat!
In the Premier League, Salah tries his best to keep Liverpool second whilst the ever dependable Jimmy Milner thinks better of those efforts and sinks Fulham who are competing for the wooden spoon with Huddersfield thanks to their capitulation down in the capital, that there London. Newcastle have a gone off Cherry to thank, Leicester thanks Big Wes whilst Richarlison hates charity!
All that and more across Europe, a lively Championship and the 2019 return of future Euro 2020 champions, England Football Club United!

We're back after nearly a month out of the game and we're bouncing into a red hot title race that's down to two, a fight for the Champions League and a scrap to survive and that's just the Premier League! We've had a bit of a break and come back not so fresh following a trip to Burnley, but what we have also brought along with us, is a massive sack of football! We've got a couple of rounds of Premier League, where there's very little movement, but plenty of hot topics. We've also had the FA Cup 4th round which had it all and had us asking, how good is the FA Cup still....very good I hear you cry! There's the Championship, Sporting Lisbon and a return to Blockbusters!

What a weekend! Some fun at the top, in the middle and at the bottom of the Premier League. It's a familiar look at the top, however there was plenty of narrative with angry Italians, diving Egyptians and baby stepped Frenchmen. At the bottom, Southampton and Newcastle pick up big wins, Cardiff and Huddersfield struggle with the latter looking to not employ a random man from Wakefield. Very strange goings-on.
We've also got a variation of action from across the country with trips to Argos, the Snooker and a trip and a slip at The Valley. As ever, we have a Championship round up, a trip to VARtugal and another cracking quiz!

Manchester United continue their fine form with a win at Wembley, Fulham lose without conceding a shot on target and Huddersfield can't buy a win and now they have to contend with finding a new manager as David Wagner graciously steps away. There's also impressive performances from Liverpool and Manchester City at the top, Southampton at the bottom and Everton and West Ham stumble across the line in the middle.
There is of course the Championship, Portugal and the Quiz!

Yippee Ki Aye football lovers! It's a late one, but it meant we got time to digest the biggest story of the week, no not Burton Albion's rise to glory, big Jose Mourinho settling his Lowry bill. He's gone and with that Solskjaer is in.....for a bit.
We've also got Liverpool shining, City and Chelsea are still in there and so are Spurs who laboured to victory under the Wembley arch! There was also a big win for Southampton as Hutch's rabbits came out like they were on the old duracells.

Update Description

We also took a pod weekend out down to London to see The Tinkerman defeat The Saints and also the Second City Derby which saw jubilation, frustration and frankly.....disbelief!

How good is the Nations League? It's amazing right?! If you're an England fan, it's been a superb campaign with famous victories over Spain and more recently, to win the group, Croatia. Wembley erupted, the nation collectively sung Three Lions and we look forward to another tournament (kind of) next summer. At least another semi-final!
There's also a return to club football this weekend with a preview of the Premier League and The Championship including the TSP trip to London and Birmingham for a double header of action as Southampton visit Craven Cottage to face new manager bouncy Fulham and there is the small matter of the Second City Derby between Aston Villa and Birmingham!

Then there's Neil Warnock, the underdog rising up with a drubbing of Fulham in the heart of Wales.

It's international break so there's the annual October mulling over of the England squad and where they are in terms of progression, personnel and personality! Turns out they are way beyond everyone's expectations after a famous win in Seville which followed and impressive, yet eerie experience in Croatia.
As well as this, we went to Ossett United for our annual Non-League Day jaunt and we saw it all.....goals, red cards and a fair amount of shouting!

And just like that, international football is back on the menu and it has served up the Nations League. Nobody really knows how it will work, whether it will help anyone or whether or not it is even real! But so far, it seems to be positive, for some at least, perhaps not so much England. We get stuck into all of the fallout and of course some positives too from England's first Nations League game, a defeat to Spain and then the friendly win which followed, where England were victorious (just about) with a 1-0 victory over the Swiss.
There's also a catch up on other nations, as well as what's been keeping our hosts busy with the lack of football during the international break, sparking discussions of players and how they are treated, wanting to go home after a day with Pep and Wesley Sneijder just chilling.

Elton John was crocodile rocking at Vicarage Road when his Watford side came from behind to beat Spurs, Chelsea and Liverpool are still standing at the top of the pile, whilst Arsenal win on the road at Cardiff to ensure that the Blues do in fact, fade away. Football bloody football! It's early doors, but it's exciting already. Whilst Liverpool have won all three games without conceding, Manchester City falter with a draw at Molineux with the excellent Wolverhampton Wanderers. Meanwhile, Chelsea and more surprisingly Watford are also 3 from 3. Fulham are in the goals and Arsenal are up and running, but still not convincing.
Whilst we're still deliberating over our European side, the Championship continues and is well and truly in full swing with Bielsa's Leeds flying, Pulis and his Boro boys are flying the flag and there's a Lancashire revival in the play offs.

This is it! The final episode of the season and what a belter it is as well! We trawl through the top 10 in the league after last weeks bottom half review and once again we have some top insight from the people that matter....the fans! It's difficult to look past Manchester City when it comes to dishing out praise, but there are a few other worthy mentions, including for Burnley, Wenger and Liverpool and naturally there are also a few pannings in there....

Here we are ladies and gentlemen! We present to you the first half of our end of season review. This week we have worked our way from the bottom up, with the help of a few friends...yes that's right, you lot! The fans, the one's who inevitably know more than us and it was a pleasure to recap on what has been a year of turmoil for most with the scrap for relegation involving virtually everyone we covered and there were plenty of talking points, particularly when it came to the managerial merry-go-round. We can't guarantee we were nice about them all (are you listening Pardew?!)
There's also the penultimate quiz of the season and maybe a glimpse of excitement for the first pod outing to Wembley this weekend to watch the Championship Play Off Final!

The end is upon us and the final curtain closed on the Premier League season with very little last day drama, although Southampton survived despite record breaking Manchester City spoiling the party. We said goodbye to Swansea who were relegated losing to next seasons opponents Stoke City. Liverpool clinched the final Champions League place and Spurs and Leicester had a right old dilly ding dong at Wembley!
We also say Auf Wiedersehn to Hertha Berlin and catch up on the Championship play offs. Oh and also....QUIZ!!

It is the penultimate week of the season and with most teams having played two games, it's all but settled now. Stoke were relegated after a loss in front of their own fans, West Brom battled with a win against Spurs, but it wasn't enough and Southampton more or less relegated Swansea in the head to head. Huddersfield shocked everyone picking up points at Stamford Bridge and The Etihad, where Manchester City put on the celebrations for the league win, whilst down the road Manchester United lose at Brighton.
There was also all the action on the final day of The Championship which saw a scrap between 5 clubs to avoid relegation, this was hand in hand with the play off places being occupied and Cardiff and Fulham battling for the automatic promotion place that was available, with The Bluebirds coming out on top seeing Neil Warnock return to the top flight. Who would have thought?!

Another cracking weekend with the bottom of the Premier League taking center stage. Southampton had a much needed home win, whilst Stoke also applied the pressure with a surprise point at Anfield. Swansea couldn't get anything against Chelsea, along with West Ham and Huddersfield both still looming close to the trap door. West Brom and Crystal Palace are also still fighting too with a pair of superb results.
Elsewhere, Jose ruins Wenger's goodbye parade throwing on the battling ram of Fellaini, it's all cracking off in The Championship with half of the league still having something to play for in the final weekend of the season and Roy Hodgson is having a party. A very weird party (probably).

After having their party spoilt last weekend, Manchester City didn't really get an invite to this weekends, however an impressive win against Spurs and a shock win for West Brom at Old Trafford saw them crowned as champions of the Premier League and they now have the opportunity to break all sorts of records. Meanwhile, Liverpool keep the pressure on for second, there are huge wins for Palace, Huddersfield and Newcastle which should see them all safe, unlike Southampton who gifted Chelsea three points.
The Championship saw another team celebrating with Wolves gaining promotion to the top flight after Fulham couldn't win, which means wins for Cardiff and Villa means the race for the other automatic spot hots up!

This was supposed to be the weekend Manchester City lifted another trophy, but their red rivals were there to spoil the party and spoil it they did. Mourinho and Pogba left grinning, Pep was reeling and the City fans await another tough night in the Champions League. Elsewhere Newcastle have all but clinched safety whilst Southampton, Stoke and Crystal Palace are still very much down there.
The Championship had all the narrative in the game at the top and Wolves were the definite prize winners now. Fulham are hot on the heels for second place whilst Aston Villa falter.

It's a birthday special for one of the Pod, although his team let him down. Aston Villa are crumbling, however there was still plenty to discuss as the FA Cup reached the quarter final stage where everyone who should have won did so, however it wasn't quite so cut and dry where we had some more crumbles for Stoke and West Brom dropping them further down towards the Championship. A weekend of absolute narrative and the boys are all over it! Manchester United used brute force to beat Liverpool, whilst Southampton and West Brom just crumbled to leave themselves in trouble. Everton showed some fight and Arsenal got back to winning ways. In the Championship Villa romped home and put themselves right in the mix with a huge win against top of the table Wolves. There is also the usual dull trip to Germany and an abject performance in the quiz!

The boys are back, but not together!
