Christians are commanded to submit to the authorities over them that God has appointed. This is the general rule to be followed. The exceptions to the command must be clear from Scripture. Submission is believing that God is able to accomplish His will in your life through those He has placed in authority over you. This definition focuses the attention on God, not on the person over you.
There comes a time when Christians must refuse to obey a government order that is a direct violation of God's Word. No Christian should submit when government asks them to sin.
