Heritage Church in Moultrie, GA is diverse body of believers in Jesus Christ who want to see everyone saved, healed, restored, and fulfilled by the power of God.
When we grow cold or apathetic to those around us, we are isolated and are an easy target for the devil. Bind together in love with the Father and with each other. Forgive, and allow God's unconditional love to flow into your relationships.

When we've been hurt, forgiveness is difficult. Reconciling that relationship and building it back is even harder. But when we are full of the Holy Spirit, we can surrender, forgive, and learn to value the differences between us.
Pain stores up in our hearts, and it makes us sick inside. Lamenting shame, bitterness, heaviness, and grief allow us to surrender our pain to Christ in order to start the healing process in our hearts.
When storms and challenges come in life (and they will), how do we handle the situations and how do we treat others, even when it hurts? Our goal must be to elevate our Father in the way we value Him and others, living a simple faith of humility and worship.
Life has beautiful moments, but is also filled with extraordinary pain. Each moment of crisis and loss is met with confusion as we try to navigate what to do or say to those who are hurting. Here are some practical ways to care for those in crisis.
Pride influences us whether we think too much or too little of ourselves. God is the one who determines our worth, and it's all about who He is, not who we imagine ourselves to be. He loves us, and there's nothing greater than that. So let us humble ourselves before Him and His majesty.
Being humble, denying what we want and preferring others...it's a task that Jesus modeled for us, and it's a life-long process of walking away from ourselves in order to love and serve others. Let us remember what Jesus has done for us so that we may serve others without pride.
There are areas of our lives that we sometimes hold back from God. Whether we don't fully trust Him or whether we want to try to control it ourselves, we don't fully surrender. But if we knew God's character and His power and let Him shape our lives, His good plans would bring life and hope to us.
Humility kills the pride in our lives, and allows us to acknowledge God for who He truly is...the King. Let us humble ourselves, pray, dance, sing, and cry before the Lord as He makes us new and puts our eyes on His glory.

The Bible has a lot to say about marriage and God. Scripture often has frank talks about sexuality, and in today's culture sex is frequently tied to identity. What does God have to say about us? What are Biblical principles that we can apply to sex, identity, and even marriage?

God's work in us of finishing life well is a process of growth, stretching, and pain. He trains us to rely on him in difficult times in order to be strong when things get tough. Georgia Barber and Robby and Londa Faircloth share their stories of God's faithfulness through the process of life.

In order to finish life well, we have to submit to what God is doing in each and every season of our lives. What He's doing in us at 17 is different than what He's doing at 63, but it all works together for our good if we follow Him, and if we allow Him to do His work, we will finish life well.

Religion is a prison that feels reassuring. It promises us comfort and a sense of security while removing freedom piece by piece. The good news of Jesus is that He took the punishment and wrath of God on sin, and we are free in Him, with no need of religion or false senses of security. We can know we are free if we are in Jesus!

In all of humanity, no person is worth more than the other. God's grace and peace are a free gift to all, and when we receive it freely, we must give it away to all.
In so many stories, a champion or hero rises to fight for freedom and hope. The story of our lives is one with a hero, but it isn't us. Jesus sets us free, gives us hope and purpose, and changes the course of our lives by His amazing grace. We have a hero, and His love rescues us all.
God wants to bring you close and fill you with faith, hope, and love. He wants you to see lost people saved, saved people healed, healed people equipped, and equipped people mobilized to grow the family of God. Who you are and the gifts God gave you determines your role in His family.
Life's pain can trouble our hearts greatly, and Jesus knows it. His sacrifice and resurrection give us hope and joy when things seem at their bleakest.
God's love and mercy are gifts for all mankind, but His wrath is for the enemy and his works of evil. God will utterly destroy the enemy one day, so let us not only submit to God, but love our neighbors and help them to come to God's family as well.
Jesus came to set the captives free, but what if what He wants to free us from is something that we've determined to hold on to? What about our hopes, dreams, or things? Let us be fully and truly set free.
Jesus (quoting the book of Isaiah) declared that He had been anointed to proclaim good news to the poor, and throughout His ministry He touched the lives of the broken, marginalized, and forgotten. As His disciples, it’s important to care for and help humanity around us. If we’ve been blessed, let us be a blessing.
Heaven can and does come to earth and miracles can happen in the here and now. Remembering that heaven is our home and God is big enough to handle our circumstances gives us confidence to trust Him.
When we let go of our plans and surrender to Christ by following Him and His plans, we still can experience the fear of missing out on something in life. Fear that God doesn't see us, doesn't know what we want or need, or is withholding something from us causes a breach in trust. But you absolutely can trust Him.
We can be a selfish people. We often care about things that aren't priority to God. On the other hand, Jesus chose the cross when people expected Him to conquer. We must choose to surrender our desires and follow Jesus.
When life hits us hard, it can get so heavy that we cannot seem to even pray another prayer. When that happens, it's important for all of us to lift each other up in prayer...to intercede with God for one another.
Pain takes many forms, but shame, bitterness, heaviness, and grief are the most common. These weights were not meant to stay on our hearts, and it's important to allow God to take on those weights...all through the process of lamenting.
There are pains that simply don't stop. We just want relief, and long for the absence of that pain. When it becomes intolerable, may God teach us to say "This hurts. Nevertheless...". There is hope in being comforted by God even when the source of that pain endures. God gives us comfort so that we can comfort those who are going through the same things.
All of us have sinned. It's our response to that sin that draws us closer to God or pushes us further away. The enemy would have us crying out in shame and regret, but Jesus paid the price so that our regret lets us lament our sin and draw near to the one who sets us free.
Grief, loss, pain, and doubt come to everyone. Can we get comfortable with the raw unfiltered struggle within ourselves and others as we truly lament the painful things in our lives while looking to God for hope?
As we enter the new year, we should take the time to reflect on ourselves and God. God has many big plans for us, and while we may have a lot of personal dreams and aspirations for ourselves and our personal lives, we need to take time to be mindful of what God has in store for us. As we reflect, we should try and focus on how we can align our own personal goals with God's goals for when these two things are aligned is when we are at our strongest.
Whether you've walked through traumatic events or have had childhood hopes and dreams that haven't been realized yet, God was there. When we know and trust that God will use all things for the good (even when those things are painful), we can know that His plan for our lives will bring life and hope to those around us.
As we prepare to learn from the life of Joseph, it’s important to take a look at our lives to see how God wants us to grow throughout this series. This spiritual check-up involves looking at our habits, our relationships, and our minds and hearts...all to be closer to Jesus!
Being a part of the family of God means doing things together. We’re imperfect, and it’s messy. But uniting in loving each other and our neighbors is what we should be known for. Let us study God’s word and give love to those around us.
One of the miracles Jesus performed was to take a few fish and a little bread and fed 5000 people. But Jesus didn’t just give them scraps! He is generous, and when he pours out love, grace, healing, or blessings it’s more than enough. He is more than enough!
We often look to entertainment or people to fill our lives, but still feel empty. Being in fellowship with Jesus and each other helps us to give love away, and it unites all of us believers together. It all begins with fellowship.
Jesus gave us access to God through His sacrifice, so why don't we use it? Taking the time to talk to God about everything can change everything, but most importantly...God is worth speaking to and waiting on. He's worth it all.
If you rush through an art gallery you'll miss the beauty. and intimacy of the paintings on display. Life, as in art, asks us to slow down to appreciate the glory of God around us and in our own lives, and not just for our benefit.
Paul and Patty underwent a radical transformation through the power of Christ. From drug dealers and hippies to ministers of the gospel who reach out to drug dealers and the homeless, they've been radically saved and changed for the glory of God. But their greatest legacy isn't their church or their ministry...it's God's love in them and their family.
Life has its share of tough moments, but we can trust that God is using every moment, even the hard ones, for our good. Jack Hadley is the owner of the Jack Hadley Black History Museum in Thomasville, Georgia. Jack's life is an example of persevering through injustice and prejudice, but the quality of his character and heart are demonstrated by his love and hope. God's love in Hadley has resulted in a life full of joy and kindness.
As we celebrate our 28th year as a church, it's incredible to look back and see what God has done over the years. But it's equally just as important to look at today and the future, and see how God would have us change and grow.
To be truly free from the things that hold us back, it requires us to know who we are, who our enemy is, and who God is. God's freedom in our lives helps us to hate what is evil and love God...and even love ourselves.
When life is full of trouble and storms, Jesus is still in control. How can we trust Him and make it through the storm with the peace of God?
There are tragic days, painful days, and days where life just stops. There are also days of joy, fun, and hope. With Christ as our Lord, it's important to not just hold on to Him during the tough times, but to fully enjoy the good times too.
Some of our worst decisions come when we put our faith in ourselves and what we can do. If we've developed a path of self-reliance, it's important to break out and trust and rely on God instead.
How do we treat people? In order to be hospitable, we have to know who we are with humility, and we have to value others more than ourselves.
God has given us so much, and He wants us to be obedient and faithful, whether that be in giving, serving, or blessing others. But our wants and desires and mistakes can get in the way of His plan.
As we attempt to parent our children to grow up healthy and godly, we look to inspiration from God's word. But training up our children is so much more than attending church together.
If we're living in extremes we can give in to things that injure our hearts and souls, and it can lead us to block blessings for others and not sacrifice for others. Let us surrender our will to Christ as we live with vision and temperance.
Identity is a huge word in today's world. Whether it's related to your job, your gender, your economic status, or a million other things...your identity can have a huge impact on what you think about God and what you think about yourself.
Jesus is the only one who can rescue us, and while He went to the cross meekly like a lamb, He rose in victory over death and hell like a lion. His power overcomes our failures and sin.
Today we take a day to stop and acknowledge God and His amazing presence and love for us. To thank Him, worship Him, and spend time with Him.
As we grow closer to Jesus, we must learn how to love and care for each other and remember each other's value to the Father. From the cradle to the grave, it's so important to care for our own spirituality as well as those around us.
Jesus said to feed his sheep, and our call is to do the will of God. But a shepherd's job is to help sheep be healthy, and that means helping them feed themselves. But what exactly does that mean?
The devil's scheme is to lie to you and make you feel unlovable, worthless, or hopeless. He wants to turn you from God's family and make you feel like an outcast. But Jesus loves the outcast, and there is hope.
Do we find ourselves being stubborn and not trusting God? When Christ wants access to our hearts and our day to day lives, he is trying to lead us to good things, but sometimes (just like sheep) we go astray.
We all pursue happiness, whether in things, memories, or people. And happiness is good! But it requires something, and God's plan for us is to be content, lacking in nothing as we look to Him for our satisfaction.
Even as Christians our focus can be on our own sense of belonging to something, or the things we value. They can be good things or even temporary things of this world, but they all distract from this simple truth: Our lives and hope must be found in Jesus, our one and only joy.
We all could use a little encouragement. Part of what Christ wants the church to do is to lift each other up, encourage each other, and to put others above yourself. It changes the atmosphere, and helps us to bless each other.
If we are to love one another, serve one another, pray for one another, instruct one another...that's a lot of one anothers! We believe that healing and helping all the one anothers in our lives can be served in a smaller setting. There's valuable connection in a smaller group, so let us connect with one another!
Many believers think that they aren't qualified to lead others, mentor or disciple their friends or family, or to provide love and guidance to other followers of Jesus. But God qualifies us, and it may be easier than you think.
God's heart to bring us in his family includes a plan to see us saved, healed, restored, and fulfilled. He never leaves us to just wander on our own, but welcomes us into the family of God as children who can hope and change.
Families have conflict, arguments, and even grudges. Marriages can get cold as we fight each other. But God wants His family to be united in Jesus, with a purpose to heal and help those in our family while loving and welcoming everyone to the family.
As the world struggles with identity, the church should be a beacon of truth and light as we seek to welcome people into the family of God. And as that family, it's our job to wrestle through tough issues based on what God's word says rather than what culture dictates.
Jesus was referred to as Immanuel - meaning God with us. God's promise to the world was not that bad things wouldn't happen...in fact, Jesus told us that tough times would happen. But God will always, always be with us. Will we be with Him?
God sent His Son to save the world from the darkness of death and sin, and His glory is on display when we live and embrace the light.
Grief is especially strong around holiday seasons as we remember the loss of those we love. But Jesus has a gift for all of us who mourn, paid for by his resurrection. We have hope, even when we grieve. Join us for our Remembrance Sunday as we mourn with those who mourn.
Marriage is a celebration of a powerful gift from God that reflects His love for us, but also his absolute war against the enemy of our souls. This sermon on the significance of marriage culminates with the wedding of Andrew and Ashley Underdown.
We've all been given a gift from God, and no one decides if you can receive it. Not people, not a church...God gives the gift that will change your life, and it is the sweetest and most precious thing you'll ever receive.
As you find closure from the wounds in your heart and draw close to God and your spouse, how do you maintain that healthy heart? It's not a one-time thing, but a series of steps to continue to be healthy and healed.
God is building the foundation of your life brick by brick. But when the devil inserts a lie, it's like having part of your foundation broken. Removing those lies saves you from heartache...before your emotions and thoughts crumble and fall into despair.
Loss and grief bring our hearts turmoil, whether the loss is that of a relationship or a person to death. But God is with us in grief, and He wants to help us be healed through the process.
