FOX NFL insider, Jay Glazer, joins Mark Daniels on camp sidelines to open Camp Cast episode #6. Also, Mike McCarthy speaks at length about how he classifies players when the subject of his two young quarterbacks, Joe Callahan and Taysom Hill was broached and whether they're good enough to become bona fide NFL players. McCarthy also further explained his classification levels when considering young college talent and ultimately, how hard it is to tell many of those young players that they won't be good enough to play for the Green Bay Packers this year.

Wayne Larrivee, the radio voice of the Packers, has our vote for best use ever of the word 'dagger', and our thanks for joining us on Camp sidelines to lead off Camp Cast Ep#5. When we asked what he thinks so far, Wayne said, " It's hard to tell with this team because they kind of put things together step-by-step. You don't get an over exposure to the veterans and what they may be up to. But all-in-all, it looks to me like they are having a very good camp."
Mark Daniels and Wayne Larrivee go on to break down the positions in this episode of Camp Cast.

With increased discussion about the National Anthem and the NFL, the media asked Mike McCarthy lat week how he address it with the team.
"We have a Power Point presentation that's updated. You always try to deliver the message clearly to your team. Our approach has always been to give the history and the understanding of what the National Anthem means. I go through the whole history and what it means to you personally." ~ Mike McCarthy

7,524 filled Fox Cities Stadium in Appleton on August 13th for the Donald Driver Softball game as part of his 'thank you to Wisconsin' tour. On the field, Driver's team got off to a slow start, finished with a rally, but came up one run short of victory, 27 to 26. Feature Story
A conversation with The Gunslinger leads off episode #4.
Brett Favre was back in town last Wednesday night to receive the Distinguished Service Achievement Award at the 19th annual Lee Remmel Sports Awards banquet at the Swan Club in De Pere. The event, put on by the De Pere Rotary Club, raises money for the UW Green Bay and St. Norbert College scholarship funds.
Favre was convinced to come back to town by longtime friend Ed Martin, a Packer Board member. It didn't take much arm twisting as Favre and Remmel had a special relationship as the face of the Packer franchise for 16 years and a man who spent 60 years both covering and working for the organization.
Before the banquet, Favre met with the media for a few minute
Some of the highlights had Favre talk about Packer fans enjoying a generation's worth of Hall of Fame play at the quarterback position, his 16 years in Green Bay and the last 10 from Canton bound Aaron Rodgers.
Yet the franchise has just two Super Bowl victories and three appearances to show for it.
Should there have been at least a couple more? Favre said maybe, but circumstances and the nature of the NFL didn't let it happen.
Favre and his wife Deanna spent only a few hours in town, leaving for what's now an empty nest in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. While his oldest daughter Brittany is about to become a mother for the third time (Grandpa Brett can't wait), his youngest daughter Breileigh has checked in for her freshman year at Southern Mississippi, Favre's alma mater.

In episode #3, our Mark Daniels gives you the story behind the toughest drill in training camp and how it got a little more interesting this year. "It is without question the most physical part of any training camp, it's called the combo, or half-line drill," says Mark. Half of the offensive line, along with a tight end, go up against half of the defensive line and two linebackers. A quarterback hands off to a running back and the collisions are fierce.
How did it get more interesting? David Bakhtiari tells us in this podcast about the WWE style belt with green & gold jewels he bought, that goes to whichever line (the offensive line or the defensive line) that won the most half-line drill reps that day. Mike Daniels adds, "I love it. It's just all about good competition."
