Mother's Day is a great day to celebrate. Mom's bring so much to our life! When I think of my mom I think of how show taught me to communicate from my heart and also that the words that I speak can affect my heart. As we have been remembering Tina Turner's song, "What's Love Got To Do With It?" we have come to see the importance of having a heart. Unlike Tina's words "who needs a heart when a heart can be broken" God tells us to hold on to our heart and to invite Him into it! That is what this message is all about as we find ourselves trying to communicate in a world that does not seem to have a heart.

Great challenges to love like Jesus
Jesus shows us that we are to value our relationship above everything.
Relationship are like competing in the Indy 500. We are not talking about a lazy trip down some quiet country road. Relationships are complicated, high speed stuff. The smallest misjudgment can send us flying off course and spin out! To be successful at Indy you need a professional driver! When it comes to relationships there is only one professional out there that you can count on and His name is Jesus!

This week we take last week's message a little further as we talk about bad habits. Let's talk about breaking free from our bad habits. How do you do that? God's Word gives us the advice and power we need.

Love is what we long for! Love is what I need to change my life! Love is what I can pass on to others to leave a legacy.

I can recall going to visit my little Heather in the hospital again and again and again as a child. Her kidneys were failing and we were waiting for a kidney to be donated and transplanted. She was 7 years old. The same thing happened when she was in her teens. She was always in the hospital. I made up my mind that the most important thing I could bring to her was HOPE! Not just any kind of hope, but hope that was rooted in God and His promises. Today we are going to talk about it.

It is not a good feeling to be stuck - stuck at the airport, stuck in a ditch, stuck in a relationship, stuck with the bill, but have you ever been stuck in "unforgiveness". Most of us have and it is not a good place to be. Pastor Al will explain and will allow the Word of God to sort it all out for you.

We all face trouble. It surrounds us. What is the old saying? “If something can go wrong, it will!” Sometimes we feel that “difficulty” is our middle name. What we need to remember is that God can use our difficulties for great good, ever for greater things than we ever dreamed. God uses difficulties in our life to grow our faith! That is today’s message.

Sometimes we are so “on fire” for our dream and so “gong ho” for our decisions that we just cannot understand why things are not moving along. We expect that things would be happening, but they are not. It is a difficult time but it is a time that God uses to develop our faith. Today we talk about it!

"For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future!"
Like the 2 disciples walking the road of Emmaus depressed and despairing and feeling their dreams are crushed, so we find ourselves to be when our dreams do not seem to be coming true. What Jesus brings to those disciple He comes to bring to you today so that your dream will be fulfilled.

Our journey on earth ends sooner or later. What is our final destination? Death is inevitable. But life extends to eternity—which means the journey is endless. Join us as we dive into the final destination of all mankind and the hope that God gives us regarding the End.

Envy will destroy you and rob you of what you do have. It happens all the time. People become so focused on getting what someone else has and then they lose what they did have. Envy drains you of the energy you need to keep what you have got. It also makes you miserable. This Sunday I will hold out to you what God says about envy and how to get rid of it in your life.

Few things can destroy us like anger can. It grabs us and takes us to places we don’t want to go. This week you will find the strength you need so that you can get a grip on your anger. You don’t have to be the incredible hulk anymore! God can channel your anger to greatness. In fact, that is what even happened to the incredible hulk as I recall in the Avengers. David had his Bathsheba. Samson had his Delilah. Potiphar’s wife had her Joseph. But today we are not going to just talk about our sexual desires that can ruin us, but other things as well. Life is filled with temptations. They are everywhere. But that does not mean that they are fatal. God comes our way that we might deal with temptation. You can’t keep the birds from flying across your head, but you can keep them from making a nest in your hair.

Are you in debt? Why do we end up in debt? How do you get out of it? What is going on that makes us spend more than we have? How do we break free from all this spending? What is going on? Who wants to be in debt? What can I buy to get be out of debt?

Too many things control us and rob us of the life that God has created us to live. We call these things addictions. If not drugs or alcohol, then it is food, cigarettes, exercise, sex, shopping, even work. Sometimes video games! And the list goes on! These things we can steal life away from us! This Sunday we are going to talk about how you can break free from the addictions.

One of the greatest reasons we do not feel good about ourselves and one of the greatest reasons that we are not accomplishing all that we could accomplish is that we procrastinate. This Sunday we will look at the causes of procrastination, the cost of procrastination, and the cure for procrastination. Friend, now is the day of salvation! Come to worship this Sunday.

Nothing will destroy a person quicker than pride. “Pride goes before the fall.” Our biggest problem at times is an “I” problem. It blurs our vision and we end up walking in the dark. God comes so we can see life more clearly and enjoy the light of the world.

Paul asked that question. The good I want to do, I don’t do. The evil that I should not do, I find myself doing. As we begin this new series, this message will set the stage for the messages that follow. Certain things are controlling us and it is not good. We need to face up to those things and place our lives before God so we can be all that he wants us to be.

The burdens of life of varied. They come in all kinds of shapes and sizes, but there is one burden that can really wipe us out and that is what I want to talk about today. It is a spiritual burden that can really weigh us down. It is for this that Jesus says, "Come to Me, all who are weak and heavy laden and I will give you rest."
One of the great ways to deal with the difficulties of life is to come before God and praise Him! Often times we just do not even think about the importance of this during hard times, but it can be just what we need. There are tremendous benefits to praising God! Nothing is seen more clearly from the cross then the humanity of Jesus. Jesus, as God’s Son, becomes one with man completely and totally and with very good reason. It is this truth that we will share this Sunday as witness all that God has accomplished for us upon the cross.

Pouring out from the cross is not just blood, but love. With every ounce of blood Jesus shed on the cross comes tons of love for people like you and me. The most beautiful picture of this is seen as Jesus looks out and sees his mother and the disciple the Bible says Jesus loved the most. As we allow our hearts to be open to tenderness of Jesus words from the cross we witness his overwhelming care for each of us as His brothers and sisters.

Throughout this Lenten series we will be focusing on the most important messages that come to us “From The Cross”. Today we hear Jesus not only speaking to the people who crucified him, but to us: “Father forgive them for they know not what they are doing!” We all need forgiveness in our life! Have you ever had a big splash of snow or mud on your windshield while driving? It is very scary and dangerous. You can't see the road. You don't know where you are going. Jesus came to heal blindness, but not just the physical kind as you will see in the story this morning. He came so that everyone can see the path to God. Pray that God will open the eyes of your heart this morning.

Some of the hardest stumbles in our life come when our pride gets in the way. Companies, families and kingdoms fall based on pride and prejudice. We are only one step away from this happening to you. We will explore the antidote to pride, and Jesus' explanation of a different approach to life that pleases God.

God knows how to prepare us for the big events in our lives, including our most difficult moments. Jesus was on a path to glory, but it was a path that included suffering and death. God is preparing us, today, to walk in His footsteps. Are you ready?

Jonah is obedient to God's will is for his mission, but Jonah's heart is not in it because God is not doing what he likes. Things are not happening the way Jonah wants it all to happen. He is filled with resentment! What do you do when things don't go your way? The life of Jonah is representative of God's people Israel! That is the big picture as we will see and Jonah is far from being Jesus!

We all know when Christmas is going to be, but not all of us know what the time is for? Christmas is a time for some pretty important things to happen in us! The angels in the Christmas tell us that Christmas is the time to do 4 things and that is what the message is about today.

Advent is the season of preparation for the promise and purposes of God in our life. Advent calls us to get ready! It reminds us of the Second Coming of Jesus, the importance of repentance, and how God chooses to use us for His purposes so the Christmas will come to the world.

The First Sunday of Advent Jesus is the King of kings that the Bible talked about from the very beginning of time. Ever since man fell into sin God has spoken about a Messiah. He was to be a king from the lineage of David. Herod feared that a king was coming to Israel so much that he ordered the slaughter of infant boys at the time of Jesus' birth. The Wise Men knew about the coming of the king as they prepared to make their journey. The King comes!

We are all different! We are different for a great purpose! Each of us is unique and God has a reason for it. It is one of the 5 purposes God has for us in life. Today we discuss how you are called by God to fulfill your purpose of service.

God calls us to a life of discipleship. To show us what He wants us to be like He sends us His very own Son, Jesus. To be a disciple of Jesus is to be disciplined to be like Him.
