I sat down with director Remsy Attasi and producer Sal Abbinanti who is also Ross’s agent and longtime friend.
We spoke all about the impact Kingdom Come has had on the world of comics and what we can expect to see in this documentary.
As soon as I heard about this documentary I was excited and after hearing Sal and Remsy talk so passionately about Alex’s work, this story and this documentary, I know this project is in very safe hands.

It’s not every day I get to speak with a relative of Joe Shuster but on this episode I did!
The Siegel & Shuster Society is an all volunteer nonprofit organization dedicated to commemorating and celebrating the creation of Superman in Cleveland, Ohio by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster.
On this episode I got to speak with three SUPER board members from the society. Valentino Zullo, Michael Sangiacomo and Leigh Goldie who is Joe Shuster’s cousin!
We had a wonderful chat about the importance of Jerry & Joe, Superman’s legacy and their goal of creating a Tribute Plaza in Cleveland.

My first Podcast with a comic shop!
I sat down with Michael, Paul and Jade from Get Ready Comics to speak about passions, fandoms, collecting and what it’s like to work in a comic shop.
Their love for the world of comics, animation, gaming and pop-culture was fantastic and it was interesting to hear how a shop stays up to date with what customers want.
Get Ready Comics is based in Rochester and I can’t wait to visit them in 2024 and maybe even record an episode live in the shop…Having evolved over the years from a simple stall at markets and conventions, Get Ready Comics opened their first shop in Strood in 2014 and in 2016 moved location to right in the heart of historic Rochester.

Recently I was granted early access to watch this new documentary from DC Comics. Each episode is filled with fascination information, footage and interviews with the talented heroes that have worked for DC Comics over the decades.
Watching this series has given me a closer connection to the heroes and stories I’ve enjoyed over the years. I now have even more respect for the talented creators who have worked behind the scenes.

On July 29th DC League of Super-Pets flies into cinemas around the world.
Recently Warner Bros UK sent me to a special screening to watch this new animated DC Comics adventure and I had a blast!
On this episode I talk about my adventure to London where I met Krypto and watched the movie!
The movie was filled with charm, a fun story, big visuals and has jokes for the whole family.
Soon the exciting new WB online game MultiVersus will be released and Jonathan Lipow will be voicing The Iron Giant. As you know I am a huge fan of this iconic character and I was very excited to speak with the person who would be bringing them to life!
On this episode Jonathan shared his fantastic origin story about how he became a voice artist, we talked about his time on The Simpsons and about how he found his voice for The Iron Giant.
It was great to hear all about Johnathan's work ethic, and the importance of wanting to be remembered for the right reasons, but the highlight for me was hearing The Iron Giant say "The Geek Of Steel...Friend" to me. I was ready to burst! MultiVersus will be available to play very soon!

The Superman In Concert event was one of the greatest nights of my life.
On this podcast I share my review of the event and also share some recordings of my time in London. I couldn’t record whilst I was inside the Royal Albert Hall but I was able to record some of my initial thoughts and feelings about the night.
The Superman in Concert has been postponed a few times over the last few years because of the pandemic but I’m so glad that this event finally happened because it felt like I was destined to be there with so many other superman fans and lovers of music and film.
Since I found out about this event I’ve been working with the Royal Albert Hall to help promote it. To be there on the day when it finally happened, and to feel the excitement in the air, and to just witness everyone turn up in their Superman T-shirts, costumes and merchandise was a memory that I will never forget. That moment when everything was meant to be and the show was about to start has become a core memory.
Thank you to every hero that made this night possible. The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, conductor Anthony Gabriele, all the hard workers of the Royal Albert Hall and every audience member that filled the air with applause and gratitude.

On the 25th of June I’m going to be travelling to london for an evening that will stay with me forever. Superman The Movie is going to be projected inside the magnificent Royal Albert Hall while John Williams’ unforgettable score will be played simultaneously by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

On episode 71 I had the honour of speaking with a fellow Superman ambassador that I have wanted to talk to for the longest time.

He could be taking about the latest comics that get released or comics throughout history that still have relevance today. It’s a page that is helping keep the Superman legacy alive while also providing positivity and information to comic fans all over the world.
I got to ask Adam about his origin story, going to the houses where Superman was created and what his perfect Superman movie would be like. I was very happy to discover that it would be a trilogy! I’m not sure how many times over the years Clark Kent has used a phone box/booth to transform into Superman but I know it’s a lot!
Once upon a time you would see the iconic red phone box on every street corner. These days everyone has a mobile phone so sadly they are not needed as much. I feel this is a real shame as I love that bright red exterior and I would hate them to disappear.
Thanks to the Community HeartBeat Trust though they are helping to keep their memory alive in the most heroic way, by using them to store life-saving defibrillators.
“Defibrillators (also known as AEDs) are medical devices that help and support a rescue for a patient in Cardiac Arrest. They achieve this by applying a current of electricity across the heart to stop it, allowing it to reconfigure automatically. Defibrillators are not "Heart Re-starters" - any sign indicating this is wrong!
Death from Cardiac Arrest if untreated is about 97% of cases. With the correct and rapid treatment, survival to hospital can, in theory, be raised to around the 70% mark, but this assumes rapid action, good CPR (Chest compressions) and also the timely use of a defibrillator.”

Recently I was invited to Park Row. A brand new restaurant in London that has a Batman/DC Comics twist. It’s the first DC-inspired gastronomic restaurant experience found anywhere in the world and I can’t wait to go back.
“With a focus on first-class dining and storytelling, it is home to five restaurant and bar spaces, each taking the guest on a journey from the streets of London to the depths of Gotham’s underworld. James Gunn’s long awaited The Suicide Squad is soon to be released (UK July 30th/USA August 6th) and although we have waited so long for it, none of us are ready for it!
I got to see the movie recently and as soon as it ended all I wanted to do was watch it again! From the start to the finish (wait for the credits to end!) I was taken on a wild adventure that was funny, gory, explosive and with just the right amount of charm. This movie really gives you everything!
After this movie blew my mind I was able to speak with James Gunn about this standalone movie. I wanted to get inside the head that made mine explode! Joining me on #ThePodcastOfSteel this time is Will Highfield. Heroes sometimes have aliases and so does Will! You may have heard of “The Jersey Gorilla” before and if you have not you are in for an inspirational treat.
A few years ago I interviewed Will after I became interested in his origin story. I found out about the Jersey Gorilla after Henry Cavill posted a photo on his Instagram and I knew I had to know more about this primate! I reached out and had a great chat about why the Durrell Challenge and the Jersey Zoo is so important.
The Durrell Challenge is about to begin again soon so I thought it would be a great time to speak with Will and learn some more about his life.
You may remember recently that my mind was blown when Henry Cavill replied to a comment on his Instagram when he was promoting the challenge. Recently I found out about “In Search Of Tomorrow” and I was instantly invested! A four hour + documentary dedicated to sharing the magic that is 1980’s Sci-Fi movies.

The film that the world has been waiting for is finally here!
ZACK SNYDER’S JUSTICE LEAGUE.
I have watched it a few times already and and I am still spotting new things. The scenes that made me an emotional wreck the first time I saw them are still blowing my mind and I can't stop watching it.
On episode 56 I share my thoughts and feelings (I have a few!) about this epic experience and also share a special interview.
I spoke with James Bulmer from Wonderland At Home. The company have created a unique home dining experience based on Zack Snyder's Justice League and it was so much fun!
I was kindly sent a box to review and it arrived on my birthday. I made lots of themed dishes and ate lots of snacks that I watched with the movie!
James was a great guest and he told me all about how this adventure in food began and some of the secrets that are inside the box. It is an ACTUAL Motherbox!
He also told me a lot about his new #Batman themed restaurant that will be opening soon. It sounds so special!

On this episode of #ThePodcastOfSteel I got to speak with a writer, an artist and a monster fan!
Kirk Scroggs was a great guest and I loved hearing his origin story and learning some facts about his career.
As soon as I got lost in his book “We Found A Monster” I knew I had to find out more about Kirk’s imagination and other creations. His latest project combines comics AND science so I was very excited to talk with him about “Flash Facts”. It’s a book aimed at middle-schoolers that teaches the reader about STEM learning and is filled with facts and fun from many writers and artists from DC Comics. It is also curated by Mayim Bialik (actor, neuroscientist author AND Blossom!).
I LOVED the book and felt like a learned a lot while reading and I wanted to wear a white lab coat while enjoying it. I wish I had books like this when I was in school!
We talked about so much on this episode and I had a blast. We chatted about his books, monsters, scary movies, classic video games and how his artistic style concerned his teachers at a young age...
I love speaking with creative souls and Kirk’s charm really shined through in this interview. His passion for his art and love for literature was a joy to listen to and I could have talked with him about 80’s movies and video games for hours.
Also, I have never talked with someone who has an exotic animal named after one of their characters…

I love when I am able to speak with the talented creators who have brought my hero to life. I am not sure how many times I have ready Kingdom Come or Birthright over the years but I know it is a lot. They are two very different stories but that have both had a huge impact on my life so when Mark Wait agreed to be a guest on the show I was very happy!
I wanted to know as much about Mark as I could and the stories that I have enjoyed so much over the years. Kingdom Come and Birthright are on many comic fans Top Ten lists and it was an honour to hear how these stories came to life.
Mark has so much passion for writing and I could have spoken with him for hours and his answer to my favourite question “What Does Superman Mean To You?” almost had me in tears!
In the interview Mark talked a lot about “Birthright” and how it is his love letter to Superman and I could not agree more. To hear him talk so fondly about his work and his partnership with Alex Ross made this a great episode to record and listen back to.

On episode 53 of #ThePodcastOfSteel I was able to speak with someone who was a big part of my origin story.
Nathan Sawaya is an incredible LEGO artist and human being! One of my first reporting jobs was back in 2017 and I got invited to the opening night of “The Art Of The Brick: DC Comics’ exhibition in London. An art exhibit that has toured the world and I was so glad it did! The artwork is insane and when it was in London I visited it many times and always had trouble leaving.
When I attended the opening night I was filled with excitement. I had never attended an event as “Press” before and I had so much fun walking around and picking my jaw up from off the floor! The other highlight of the evening though was getting to speak with Nathan about his art and his passions. After that night, and getting words of advice from Nathan, I knew I wanted to do more with my alter-ego!
I am so glad that Nathan found the time to be on the show as I had so much more to ask him! Hearing more about his inspirational life and what he has achieved over the years made for a great conversation and if you watch the YouTube video I shared some great photos that Nathan sent me to use. Also..keep an eye out for the special cameo appearance!

I love it when I get to speak with people who love Superman as much as me and when that person also loves pop culture as much as me I will have trouble stepping away!
On this episode my special guest was author Mark O’Connell. As well as writing all about how another hero, James Bond, changed his life he also published a book all about pop culture.
“WATCHING SKIES – STAR WARS, SPIELBERG AND US” is an American road trip down memory lane for anyone that appreciates anything that came out of the 1970s/1980s.
Mark has a real way with words and the way he talks about movies and toys from that era is both entertaining and emotional. Nostalgia is big business right now but you can hear Mark’s voice in his writing and I love his style. It’s why I knew I had to get him on #ThePodcastOfSteel.
We talked about our love for classic movies, Mark shared a heartbreaking tale including Star Wars heroes and unlicensed taxis, the time he sneaked into The Daily Planet and how he bumped into Christopher Reeve AND Henry Cavill (not at the same time!).

This episode’s very special guest is Marshall Julius. A blogger, journalist, super-geek, author and so much more! I have been following Marshall online for quote some time and we became internet pals back in 2019 when we were both in London to interview Kevin Smith.

I have interviewed my first President and that's a great guest for my 50th episode!
I have wanted to speak with Paul Levitz for quite some time and I am honoured that he came onto the show to talk about his life in comics and his soon to be released book "DC Through the 80s: The End of Eras".
Hearing about his journey in comics was fascinating and the amount of changes he helped when he was the president at DC was inspiring. Comics as we know them would be a very different medium if it wasn't for Paul.
I also loved finding out how a reconciled relationship with Laura Siegel happened and how Paul owns one of the bricks from Jerry Siegel's house!
"DC Through the 80s: The End of Eras" comes out on December the 15th and I am looking forward to getting lost in the pages. After speaking with Paul about the work that went into it I am ready to dive right in!

Jim Cummings has brought so many characters to life over the years and I’m honoured that he agreed to be a guest on the podcast.

This week on the Podcast Kristopher Meadows is my guest and this show has been a long time coming!
Kristopher and I have been messaging each other for quite some time since our paths crossed. I love his artwork and passion for Superman, especially Christopher Reeve. We are kindred spirits and that shows on this episode as we couldn’t stop talking!
We talk all about our love for our favourite hero but what I really wanted to talk about was Kris’ art and his interactions with Christopher Reeve. I heard some of the anecdotes over the years but I wanted a full rundown!
One of the other reasons I needed Kris to appear on the show was to find out more about his current project. Sideshow Collectibles is currently selling one of Kris’s prints and it is spectacular and the story behind it is just as amazing as the art.
I have shared the artwork all over my social media channel as I can’t get enough it! Here is a link to the Sideshow website and if you have not seen “Someone To Believe In” you will see why the artwork just grabbed a hold of my heart.
On the Podcast Kris also talked about how a fateful encounter with Jim Bowers (from Caped Wonder and Caped Wonder Podcast) literally changed his life and if that meeting hadn’t happened, this artwork and Kris’ life would be completely different.
I had a great time on this episode. Not just because Kris is a wonderful storyteller but it was just so heartwarming to sit down and speak with another Superman Super-fan.
I am so happy that Kris is working side by side with Sideshow and I cannot wait to see what artwork he releases next. His attention to detail combined with his own high standards is a great combination. I can’t wait to have Kris back on the show in the future as I have a feeling we will see a lot more art from him in the future.

As soon as I met Art Baltazar at the 2018 Superman Celebration in Metropolis, Illinois I knew I had to interview him and find out more about his life in comics.
He is a comic artist, writer, comic shop owner and a force to be reckoned with! His art style is as unique as his personality and to be able to listen to his origin story and life in comics was fascinating.
Throughout Art’s life so many hurdles have been put in his way but through sheer determination and faith in himself he has become a world famous cartoonist who is recognised for his talent, tenacity and style! This interview has shown me that by having belief in yourself, and by having people around you who support you, nothing can hold you back.
We talked a lot about Superman (of course!) and I loved hearing about how "Superman Of Smallville" came to be and the moment that Art discovered he would be bringing my hero to life.
I am looking forward to seeing what Art releases next. I REALLY want to see more of "Superman Of Smallville" and "ArkhamManiacs" sounds like it is going to be so much fun!

DC Fandome was an incredibly exciting night for DC Comics fans. There was something for everybody. Movies, games, merchandise, cosplay. It was quite overwhelming the amount of content that was shared but over 8 hours I soaked it all in and tried to compose myself!
I watched the events with friends, bloggers and followers from all over the world and it made the online event feel even more inclusive. At a time where Comic-Cons are not happening, DC Comics put on an event that really helped entertain the world and made us all feel a little bit more connected through our passions.

On this episode of The Podcast Of Steel I had a great chat with artist Christopher Jones. Christopher has worked on many titles and he may even be one of the youngest comic artists ever to be published in print!

It is so insightful to speak with comic creators about their careers is fascinating as you get to dive into their history and how they have grown as both an artist and a fan.

The Death Of Superman is a story that is known around the world and one that is hard to forget. It has been homaged, referenced, parodied and animated. It is one of THE greatest Superman stories ever told and when Dan Jurgens (Comic Book Royalty!) kindly agreed to be a guest on The Podcast Of Steel I already knew what I wanted to ask.

I have been following Tim Sheridan’s writing career for quite some time and I am always happy for him when and exciting opportunities come his way. The man simply gets comics, heroes and story-writing so when we arranged a date for a Podcast chat I had a list of things I wanted to discuss!
On this episode Tim talked so passionately about working on Justice League Action and with so many members of the “Tucker-Verse”. We also talked about Tim’s time working on Reign Of The Supermen and how it was almost meant to be that he was the one who wrote it.
As you all know, Superman is my hero. If you don’t know that, pay attention! Tim and I had spent a lot of time fanboying over our shared love of Supes and hearing him speak so eloquently and passionately about my boy is why I have so much faith in Tim’s future projects.

Earlier this year I began talking with Jimmy Palmiotti on Twitter about his comics, passions and his life in the industry and we finally met in person at the Birds Of Prey world premiere and it was a great moment. Recently I was made aware of a new Superman watch that immediately caught my eye. At first I was tagged in a post on Instagram. It was like a clock counting down but it was in Kryptonian. It reminded me of the Man Of Steel videos that were released to help promote the movie. My attention had been grabbed!
I started researching everything about who posted this mysterious video. It was posted by Undone Watches, a company that I had heard of before as knew about their line of Batman watches. I went to their website and that is when I saw it for the first time…”The Kryptonian Decryptor” . I had never seen a watch like this before that represented my hero so well so I had to know more!
I emailed the company just to find out some information about the watch. Soon I began speaking with more passionate people at Undone and eventually an interview was arrange with Michael Young, “The Bracelet Magician”.
Michael is the Co-Founder of Undone Watches and knows pretty much everything when it comes to how a watch works and how a watch needs to look. From the moment Michael started speaking it was clear that he is not only passionate about his watches, he is also very passionate about making the best watch for his customers.

This week the Superman:Red Son movie was released for Digital Download and I could not have been more ready for it!
Many years ago I read Mark Millar's epic Elseworlds story and as soon as I closed the book I needed it to be made into a movie!
The movie was well worth the wait. WB Animation has released another classic that blew my mind.
As soon as the movie ended I recorded I my "Hot Take". I was overwhelmed, overexcited and overly emotional.
The second part of this episode features my Spoiler-Free review and I give LOTS of warnings towards the end as I finish off talking about the spoilers.
This film was everything I hoped it would be and lots more.

When I first picked up Superman:Red Son many years ago I had no idea of the impact it would have on my life. It blew me away and continues to entertain.
When I found out last year that this Elseworld story would be created as an animated feature I was overjoyed! On this episode of The Podcast Of Steel I talk about my love for the story and the hard work that went into it.
Halfway through the episode I share my trailer reaction and I finish up by talking about the soon to be released movie. I talk about the crew and the voice artists involved and there are a lot!

Last week has been a non-stop adventure so I had to dedicate a whole episode of The Podcast Of Steel to it!
At the beginning of the week I was invited to the launch party of Harley Quinn’s Roller Disco. An exciting event to promote the release of Birds of Prey And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn. There were cocktails, food, games and of course rolling skating!
The next part of the podcast is all about my second trip to London to the world premiere. It was an unbelievable night of excitement which ended with me meeting some comic book royalty!

Recently the world has gone crazy for The Witcher show on Netflix. The action, the music, the locations and the storylines have taken a hold of fans’ hearts, me being one of them!
Another aspect of the show that has gotten a lot of love are the elaborate costumes. They range from armour to gowns to not much at all!
Recently I got the chance to speak with Tim Aslam, the costume designer for the show, on my Podcast and we had a fascinating chat.
