Note: I want to preemptively apologize for the multiple times I burped in this episode and did not re-record.

Thanks for tuning in to The Porch!  This episode covers my thoughts on this year's NFL draft, examining the first 10 picks while also taking a step back and seeing how unique this draft due to the effects of the Coronavirus.  After, I totally fanboy over the Michael Jordan documentary, "The Last Dance," discussing episodes I and II that aired on Sunday night.

I plan on continuing to discuss Michael Jordan over the next weeks, progressing along with the documentary.  If you have any ideas you want me to discuss or questions to answer, let me know and I would be happy to make them part of the upcoming episodes.

Thanks for listening!  I appreciate all of the love and support.

Keep making it happen.

Thanks for sticking with me and tuning in after such a long break in the action. This podcast will continue even with a lack of current sporting events. I have multiple topics I want to cover and the lack of events gives me the space to present my ideas that I may have otherwise not have gotten the time to do so. With all the commotion and craziness surrounding how the world currently looks due to the Coronavirus outbreak, I hope you and all you know are safe and well.

Today's episode covers the most impactful NFL free agency signings and trades through April 8th. I go through each deal with a small snippet for every signing. This takes up most of the podcast, but here are some time markers if there are some specific deals you want my opinion on.

3:00 Quarterbacks, lead by my whiff from the last episode on Tom Brady

10:10 Big name signings for all other positions

12:58 Offseason Trades

16:15 Coronavirus conversation

After the NFL discussion, I have a small section on the coronavirus and the effects it has had on the sports world, but instead of looking at the negatives, I put a spin on it to look at the bright side.

If my mic sounds funny at any point in time or if there are any audio problems, I want to apologize. I am working with a new mic and it took me a bit to figure out the EQ settings that best fit my voice.

I really appreciate your time and support and am looking forward to recording more podcasts soon. Thank you to everyone who messaged me and asked when the next episode was going to go up. The encouragement I have received puts a smile on my face.

Let me know your thoughts and opinions on what was covered in this episode. There is a lot to discuss, but I want to have those discussions. Message me through The Porch Podcast social media platforms, or my personal accounts. Leaving comments on the podcast release posts works too.

Today's episode is far closer to that 20-25 minute mark, but not quite there... I'll keep working on that.

As stated in the title, I take a dive into the intricacies of the number one free agency target this NFL offseason- Tom Brady.  He has many suitors, but questions of his ability to play at an elite level have come into question.  Will he stick with the New England Patriots or will he move on?

Chris Paul has been in the news recently due to an interview on Bleacher Report discussing the attributes that create the best possible point guard using players from around the league.  Some of his choices are, let's say, questionable and require some extra inspection.

The episode ends with a quick recap of some college hoops and an important announcement for Selection Sunday.

Here it is, the inaugural episode!

I've already broken my first rule, seeing that this one ran on for more than 30 minutes, but I have plenty of excuses.  Rest assured, they will not all be this long.

Besides what the title gives, I will also be talking about what tanking NBA teams do to pass the time while checking in on the Stephen Curry injury and his return to play timeline.

Please share with your friends and anyone who you think might be interested.  If you cannot listen through Anchor or Spotify, all of the audio clips have been uploaded to Youtube as well.    Check it out at this link:  https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC0dQShpty4ZkcbsY5rN-okg

Welcome to The Porch!  Thank you for taking some time out of your day to listen to my thoughts on the sporting events from the past week as well as anticipation for the ones to come.  This episode is just an introduction to the podcast where I’m going to go over what The Porch is about and what you should expect in the future.

As a quick overview of this episode, this podcast will be divided into three types of episodes.  The majority of them will cover current professional and collegiate sports, recapping events from the week and discussing the important stories that result.  The second style will focus on George Fox University athletics, covering specific sports while also interviewing an athlete from that sport.  These will have the majority of the content focused on the Bruins and the Northwest Conference, but may dip into some other sports conversation as well.  The final style will be conversations between myself and my friends, talking some about sports but also diving into other topics as well.  These will not be as common, but I want to include the people who mean the most to me.

I am looking forward to the progress of this project and my development through each episode.  Thank you for taking some time to listen and I hope you are just as excited about the process as I am.

Keep Making it Happen.
