Clinton and Charity Muñoz are the founders of Restored 2 More, a Christ-centered nonprofit ministry helping couples heal after betrayal, pornography/sexual addiction, and broken trust. After walking through their own story of betrayal, trauma, repentance, recovery, and restoration, they felt called to create a safe and hope-filled pathway for other couples who are longing for healing.
Through their podcast, courses, coaching, resources, and ambassador program, Clinton and Charity equip couples, churches, and leaders with practical tools to restore safety, rebuild trust, process pain with Jesus, and move toward deeper connection. Their heart is to see marriages not simply survive betrayal, but become restored to more.

The UnFragmented Bible looks at Galileo being branded a heretic by the Church for a scientific discovery that disagreed with their "video camera footage" view of the Bible. Much of the Church still views the Bible and science in this combative, mutually exclusive fashion, even though the Bible doesn't present itself in this way.
These unbiblical distractions, manufactured by the Church, create crises of faith, add to the gospel, and keep many educated people from putting their faith in Jesus.
This episode concludes by diving into what the message of the Bible actually is when we strip away these unbiblical and unnecessary additives.

The UnFragmented Bible breaks down the modern value of precision and how the Bible makes it clear that the ancient biblical authors (and God!) did not share this value when they wrote Genesis.
When we force our human demands onto God's word, it becomes our word instead of His. We end up missing the message He has for us, creating unnecessary crises of faith and competitions with modern science and archeology.

There's an error starting between 23:44 and 24:01 (timelines vary based on podcast player) where I say "each star is the sun of its own galaxy, with planets encircling it like the Milky Way."
Correction:
-Each star is the sun of its own solar system.
-Planets don't circle the Milky Way / galaxies, they circle their sun, which we call a solar system.
-There are an estimated 100-400 billion suns in our galaxy, the Milky Way.
-There are an estimated 2 trillion galaxies like the Milky Way.
-The Andromeda Galaxy is one we can see with the naked eye. Hundreds of billions of galaxies have been observed through The Hubble Space Telescope and James Webb Space Telescope.
The point in the podcast remains the same, I just said the wrong word accidentally, and now you have much more (amazing) scientific information about the universe than you asked for!

The plain text of Genesis 1:1-2 show that the early chapters of Genesis aren't meant by the authors (or God) to be read as video camera footage, or what Answers in Genesis defines as "real history."
This approach isn't supported by the text and rather than accept the Bible on its terms, forces unbiblical human terms onto it, forcing it to answer questions it was never intended to answer. This has caused us to miss the biblical meaning and purpose of the creation account, but even more concerning, they've been added onto the gospel of Jesus. This has caused many to throw out their faith altogether when they learn scientific and archeological facts later in life that contradict what they were raised in as the inerrant Word of God.
The choice doesn't have to be doubling down on extrabiblical concepts like humans riding dinosaurs and belief in fire-breathing dragons in order to keep the Bible "real history" or throwing the whole Bible (and faith) out as nonsense.

Dale shares as a pastor from a biblical, non-partisan perspective on what's happening with ICE, immigrant arrests, what our laws are and how they're used, and the process immigrants go through at detention centers. Dale Dalman is a retired missionary and pastor with the Evangelical Covenant Church denomination. He served as a missionary to Venezuela and senior pastor to a Hispanic church in Michigan. He currently serves with the Clergy on Patrol program with the Grand Rapids Police Department and is Mayor Pro Tem of the city of Rockford, MI. He's been married to his wife Sheryl for 43 years and has 3 married children and 7 grandchildren. He has a bachelor's degree from Moody Bible Institute and a master's degree from Calvin Theological Seminary. Mark’s training in recovery work includes a Master’s Degree with a focus on recovery. He is a trained PSAP and member of the American Association of Christian Counselors.
Beth Denison has been working with women for over 40 years. She has been a church Women’s Ministry Leader, mentor, and popular speaker. She has taught at Asbury Theological Seminary, Wesley Biblical Seminary, and Wheaton College. As her many students will tell you, Sandy’s particular gift is bringing the real people and real places of the biblical narrative to life. Richter is a member of the New International Version (NIV) Translation Committee, she has spent many years bringing student groups to Israel to study historical geography and field archaeology, and in her technical work often writes on the intersections between Syro-Palestinian archaeology, linguistics and Bible. Juanita most recently teamed up with Tina Knowles Lawson and Beyoncé to help forty thousand flood victims recover in the wake of Hurricane Harvey in Houston. In addition to addressing issues of health and disaster relief, Juanita launched the Temenos Community Development Corporation in 2006, which recently completed over thirty million dollars in housing development projects for the previously homeless in downtown Houston. She also founded The Art Project-Houston to empower the city's homeless to become hope-filled painters and artisans who craft their own livelihood and create lives filled with new possibilities.

Peter is an ICF-certified (International Coaching Federation) PCC-level (Professional Certified Coach) executive coach, has a doctorate in performance and organizational psychology, teaches family systems theory, and is an ordained minister with a master’s in divinity. He has worked for almost three decades in the start-up church and organizational leadership world. At 18 years old, Cameron experienced a diving accident in which he broke his neck and was left permanently paralyzed. Now, from a wheelchair, he shares his story of God’s faithfulness to him through his disability.
Cameron has shared in a variety of spaces including radio ministry, three speaking tours around Ireland and in India, along with numerous engagements around the United States. Cameron‘s heart is for believers and nonbelievers alike to think accurately about suffering and disabilities and what great benefits these things bring to the church.
Cameron is an alumni from Southeastern University where he earned a degree in biblical studies. When he is not speaking, Cameron enjoys wheelchair rugby, Adaptive CrossFit, and many other activities that keep him active and engaged with his community.

Noah interviews Drs. Glenn Bracey and Michael Emerson on their national research project where they interviewed practicing white Christians on matters of race. What they found was that practicing white Christians hold some unique views on race that are not shared by any other demographic in the United States. Their views differ from practicing black or Latino Christians, as well as from white non-Christians.
This research is being compiled into Bracey and Emerson's upcoming book from Oxford University Press titled The Religion of Whiteness: How Racism Distorts American Christianity (February 2024).

Noah interviews Pastor Laura Tarro, who is planting Bethany Covenant Church in St. Charles, Illinois. Noah and Laura were in a 6-month church planting cohort together with their denomination, the Evangelical Covenant Church. Church planting is rigorous and full of challenges. Laura talks through some of the additional, unique challenges she has faced as a woman lead church planting pastor.
Laura is a 1997 graduate of Wheaton College with a B.A. in Art and Philosophy. She holds a Master of Arts in Religion from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. She is currently completing her Master of Divinity from Northern Seminary. The Tarros have been deeply involved in the life and leadership of their local church and in their community. They have two teenagers. In 2020, Laura began a two-year pastoral internship at Batavia Covenant Church in order to complete her supervised ministry requirement for her Master of Divinity. She is also the co-host of the Kingdom Roots Podcast with Scot McKnight. She became a licensed pastor with the Evangelical Covenant Church in 2021. She is planting Bethany Covenant Church in St. Charles, Illinois.

For the first 23 years of marriage, Jack desperately wanted to believe he was "ex-gay". Similar marriages often end in divorce. Jack Sytsema is lead pastor at Lake Effect Church in Grand Rapids, MI. As a native of Grand Rapids it would be easy to think he didn’t venture far from home. But he’s lived in California, where he graduated from Fuller Theological Seminary; Colorado Springs, where he interned and eventually became Dean of Wagner Leadership Institute; Melbourne, FL where he was CFO of a large medical practice and non-profit for individuals with developmental disabilities. God eventually brought him back to West Michigan where he and his wife, Becky, planted Lake Effect Church in 2016. Jack and Becky have been married for 25 years and live with their three sons in Zeeland, Michigan.

As Christians, we often think (or are told) that we aren't allowed to feel disappointment, worry, anxiety, and sadness. We are implored by friends to have "the joy of the Lord" instead, or to remember how much God loves you. If God loves you, you should feel happy and not sad. These platitudes make us feel like we have to be robots or angels instead of humans. Meanwhile, God created us to experience emotion. He created us human. Nate was born in Texas, but spent most of his childhood living overseas in South America where his parents served as missionaries. After graduating from Moody Bible Institute in 2003 with a BA in Bible and Theology, he moved to Louisville, KY to attend the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He graduated with an MDiv in 2009, and then earned a PhD in New Testament in 2017. He has presented papers at academic conferences on the subjects of gender, sexuality, the Greco-Roman background of the New Testament, and related topics. He is a member of The Society for Biblical Literature, Institute for Biblical Research, and the Evangelical Theological Society.

After wrapping up the Flip Side Book Club's reading of Spiritual Friendship, Noah interviews author Wes Hill on the book's subject of providing a path of love for celibate gay Christians. A path that still follows the Bible's command for sex to be within the marriage of a man and a woman. Kevin's story includes two divorces, climbing huge mountains, looking for Noah's Ark, skiing to the North Pole, and more. Kevin was confronted with the emptiness inside of him, which led him to a path of vulnerability and letting Jesus' grace meet him in his brokenness. He went on to be a 4-year starter at the University of Dayton (3x all conference), as well as a career in professional basketball. Noah just moved to Grand Rapids and is living with his gracious in-laws until his house in Lansing sells. As a result, there's not yet a quiet place to record so this is a bonus episode of a sermon Noah preached on January 20th, 2019. It is on 1 Peter 1:3-12 and is the last sermon he preached at Crossroads and the most recent sermon he has preached to date! Be encouraged by the true source of our hope, whatever our circumstances.
The last few Flip Side episodes have had the theme of the Father's love healing our shame. Shame being the feeling that we aren't good enough, that we don't measure up. Last episode focused in on what truths to remind ourselves of (vs. the lies of shame). This episode follows up with the key step 2 of the process, and that is having brothers and sisters in Christ who model the Father's love to us. We take a look at what this looks like, including opening up the mailbag to hear how people have experienced this in real time. The mailbag entries also give some thoughts about church small groups. Noah then weighs in on what he thinks of church small groups, and gives listeners a layered plan for finding healing community in their lives.
Episode 12 provides a practical path to walk to fill the hole inside of us that screams out for approval and to be told we are valuable. We typically attempt to fill this hole with sexual sin and fantasy, as well as anything from money, our reputation, to our last three Facebook posts.

A great question from the mailbag brings up why a lot of accountability is ineffective. Noah gives his thoughts on what you must have for accountability to work. There's a new segment on breaking down a piece of Scripture as a guide for how to spend your daily time with the Lord. This episode's scripture passage is Psalm 131:1-2. The topic of the day is on the importance of emphasizing both God's wrath/judgment and his grace/mercy in order to be freed from sexual temptation. These are two wings on an airplane and one without the other won't cut it.
In episode 8, Noah unpacks what the Bible means by "One Flesh" as it relates to sex. Many thing "One Flesh" is talking about what happens when two people get married, but it's what happens when two people have sex. This understanding is a big piece of the puzzle in understanding why we should not objectify people or think that sex is only about body parts.

Noah then draws out how to spend daily rhythm time with Jesus, making sure we understand how essential this type of time is in order to quench the desire for sexual sin.

We look at Psalm 139 and discover who women really are, rather than the lie our oversexualized culture has taught both men and women to believe.

The idea of this episode is that men look to women to give them what only God can, which is always (whether that's in porn, fantasy, or even marriage) going to end in disappointment. The same holds true for women looking to this from men. The episode looks at what it is we are truly looking for in relationships and sex, and the only guaranteed way to have that need met. This episode also looks at several Christian purity or marriage books which set marriage up as an idol and cater to our self-seeking sin nature in order to produce short-term results that have long term repercussions.
In the inaugural episode, Noah breaks down the first video of the Beyond the Battle free small group curriculum, "Entitlement is Your Worst Enemy," giving an expanded explanation of the video. He looks at Exodus 19, Romans 2:5, and Matthew 18:21-35 to look at how holy God is and how when we grasp this in balance with his grace, it brings tangible freedom to our struggles with sexual and relational sin.

Nowadays, the only thing that will get someone published is popularity (called "platform" in the publishing industry). Noah Filipiak interviews his faith hero Dr. John Perkins, focusing in on Dr. Perkins' emphasis on the need for multi-ethnic churches in America as one of the top solutions to our race problems.
Dr. Perkins is 87 years old and has been a leader in the racial reconciliation movement as a Christian for many years. His autobiography Let Justice Roll Down is a must-read. Among many other incredible stories, Perkins describes how he was tortured and beaten within an inch of his life in the Brandon, Mississippi jail by white police officers. He was put in jail for a peaceful demonstration he was leading along with some youth. He describes how if he hated the white officers back that were beating him, he would become just like them: full of hate. Instead his life became based on the redemption and reconciliation that Jesus shows us as his lead example in bringing justice and love to the racial injustices of our country.
Dr. Perkins co-founded the Christian Community Development Association and is the President of the John and Vera Mae Perkins Foundation.

Noah Filipiak interviews longtime worship leader Rory Noland about key ways worship music leaders need to care for their souls in order to keep their motives and priorities straight. They talk about the importance of lyrics, the problem of celebrityism, and the impact the Transforming Center has had on them.
Rory Noland is the director of Heart of the Artist Ministries. He leads retreats for artists, speaks at workshops and conferences, mentors worship leaders, and consults with churches in the areas of worship and the arts. Rory currently leads worship for the Transforming Center and is Head of the Worship Department at Nebraska Christian College where he teaches courses in worship and spiritual formation for artists.
Rory previously served as the music director at Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington, Illinois, for twenty years and most recently as Pastor of Worship for Harvest Bible Chapel in Rolling Meadows, Illinois.
