As I mentioned on my last show two weeks ago, hosting and producing The Sports Grill radio program over the last four years at WHRW Binghamton University has been amazing. Having the opportunity to talk about the world of sports on the radio is something that I have always been passionate about I hope you enjoyed hearing my weekly take on the daily happenings in NY Sports. It was quite fitting when the Islanders, which of course you know is my favorite team, seemingly had their team rebuilding project parallel my show. I remember when we covered John Tavares' debut in October 2009 and to end my show this May with the Isles having their first playoff run in 6 years was quite the finish.
First off, I would like to thank all of the guests on the show over the years who took time out of their busy schedules to talk about the teams they cover on a daily basis. They were an integral and informative part of the program and I hope you continue to check out their links on the right sidebar of the blog. I also want to thank my co-hosts Zack and Joe. We had some great sports debates over the years and it was a pleasure to talk sports with each of you. Thanks to the WHRW management and our engineers who volunteered their time every week to ensure that the technical operations of The Sports Grill went smoothly. Last of all, I would like to you...the fans and listeners of this show. The show made quite the transformation from that first show of my freshman year at Binghamton University to this semester and it was great to talk with all of you on the phones on-air. While The Sports Grill radio program on WHRW may be complete, take a listen to all of our archives below to relive some of the great moments and hear the guest interviews. Then, we moved over to previewing the Binghamton Mets seasons and extensively spoke about some of the big Mets prospects in Spring Training. Dom provided insight on the future impact this could have on the franchise from all different aspects. Tommy brought up several great points regarding the Knicks roster. Especially with the NHL currently in the midst of a labor stoppage, the NBA season will receive a lot of attention from our show over the coming months.

As Zack was getting ready to graduate from Binghamton University, the last week of spring programming marked the final episode of the New York Sports Power Hour radio show. Through a look-back at the great moments of the show, Steven and Zack recapped 2 great seasons by playing back old clips and reminiscing about what has occurred in the world of New York Sports over that time. They started the show by comparing the current situation for the Knicks to when the team first acquired Carmelo Anthony. Also, the two gave their inputs on the local baseball teams. The finale concluded with acknowledgments to our guests and WHRW staff members that were vital in keeping our show running week after week. Steven will be bringing back "The Sports Grill" show to WHRW in the Fall, so keep checking this site and his Twitter page for updates. Maybe Zack will even make a cameo or two during football season. For this episode of the New York Sports Power Hour, Steven and Zack were joined by a special guest who formerly announced Binghamton sporting events, former B-Met and BU Women's Basketball Radio Announcer Robert Ford. Robert currently is the Pre/Post Game host on the Kansas City Royals Radio Network. He provided an analysis of the current Royals roster, as well as his transition from the minor league to major league level in broadcasting. Also, Robert spoke about his time covering Binghamton sports teams with some great anecdotes of his times with the B-Mets, BU Women's Basketball team and being a lifelong fan of the New York Mets.
Steven and Zack then provided their weekly "Go-Around the NFL Report" by starting off with the losses by both the Jets and Giants. That conversation continued into some college football BCS talk and then closed it out with Sidney Crosby's return that night against the Islanders.

During the second half, Steven and Zack had a spirited hot stove debate to talk about the New York Mets and Jose Reyes. We illustrated our opinions of what was going on in baseball.

In this Halloween edition of NY Sports Power Hour, Steven and Zack first spoke about the dimension changes to Citi Field and what this means to the Mets team. Then, they did their weekly "go around the NFL" where they spoke about all the big stories from Week 8. Later on, they spoke about the Giants win over the Dolphins and provided a preview to MLB Free Agency. To end the show, sports columnist Neil Best of Newsday called in to talk about everything surrounding sports media from ratings to rights fees to ESPN and much more. In this special edition of the New York Sports Power Hour, Steven "Sports Grill" was back with Zack Arenstein to talk with special guest Matthew Cerrone (MetsBlog.com, SNY). Matthew provided excellent insight into recapping the 2011 season, talking about the Jose Reyes contract situation and other Mets topics. Thanks to Matt for helping us with a great segment for our 2011 Mets season recap.
Afterwards, the duo spoke about Week 5 in the NFL and all the top stories for the Jets, Giants and even the Bills. After losses for the Jets and Giants, there was a lot to talk about regarding these two teams. To end, Steven gave his thoughts on the "NHL Face Off" and the Islanders, Rangers and Devils.

Zack anchored the second episode of the Fall 2011 season with fill-in David Underweiser, as Steven was on assignment. The duo started off by discussing the current state of the MLB playoffs. Of course, they had to start with that crazy season finale where Tampa Bay and St. Louis advanced to the playoffs while Boston and Atlanta went home absolutely heartbroken. Next, they dove into the NFL where the Giants took a game from Arizona controversially, the Jets defense gave up 13 points and yet they lost by a final score of 34-17, and the juggernaut known as the Buffalo Bills were knocked down a peg in Cincinnati. Finally, they caught up on the state of conference realignment in the NCAA with our special guest Kristi Dosh of businessofcollegesports.com.
