In his sermon titled "Love is Honouring," Aaron highlighted the transformative power of honouring others, showcasing how small acts of kindness can deeply influence our lives. Drawing from personal experiences, he illustrated how feeling honoured can uplift, inspire, and bring joy, emphasising the profound impact of love and respect in our interactions. Aaron also touched upon the parable of the prodigal son, underlining how honour brings hope and love to those who feel rejected and despised. He pointed out how the father in the story honoured his son, who had dishonoured him by squandering his inheritance, teaching us to honour those who return to us despite having dishonoured us. Furthermore, Aaron stressed that Jesus, our ultimate example, never displayed improper or rude conduct, teaching us to show courtesy in all our interactions, whether in person or through electronic communication. Marco Palmer spoke on the subject of SLOW TO ANGER from 1 CORINTHIANS 13 or the Love Chapter. He used a comedy video about a quick tempered substitute teacher named Mr Garvy before talking about the high standards of handling anger in a godly manner as spoken about through-out Scripture - God is described as SLOW TO ANGER throughout the Bible and therefore we are to be slow to anger in reflection of the character of God. To illustrate this point Marco used the story of Methuselah from Genesis Chapter 5. His name in Hebrew means "When he dies judgment will be sent" and so the longest living human ever according to Scripture was also a prophetic warning and so God slowly waited for 969 years before sending the flood that destroyed all life on Earth apart from Noah, his family and the creatures on the ark. The next illustration was of Moses losing his temper at the second water from the rock miracle. Paul (who wrote the love chapter) became angry when he went to Athens and saw all the idols. However he was able to harness that anger for good, and preach the Gospel of Christ to the people of Athens. Lastly Christ was used as an example; instead of lashing out in anger at those crucifying him he was led like a lamb to the slaughter that was silent before his shearers. God's perfect anger and perfect love collide at the cross of Christ. The Cross is a a picture of both God's love and God's anger.
Easter is a wonderful celebration and full of joy. But what is it really all about? Christians believe the truth of what happened on that first Easter Sunday is the most significant, life changing event that has happened in the whole of history: The resurrection from the dead of Jesus Christ. It is this event that is the heart of the Christian gospel and the power by which it has endured for over 2000 years. Mel shares how she felt God impress the words "radical shift" and "pursue" on her heart, for the year of 2024 and she emphasises how these words can be applied to each of our lives. Because we have a free will to choose right from wrong, the coming Anti-Christ is a form of judgment on an unbelieving world that has rejected Christ as king and therefore gets the king they deserve. We as believers in Christ are not meant to be scared but prepared and this is a time to get busy and bring in souls before all this happens.
So many will tell you that the secret to success in 2024 is BE YOURSELF when in fact, the good book clearly states that the secret to all success is to die to self. What if success all came down to next to nothing about you but WHO IS WITH YOU- THE KING.

We took a look at Mary the Mother of Christ trying to discover some new things about her that people might not know; eg. the meaning of her name. She was actually called Mirriam - the same name as the sister of Moses and the name means bitter. We looked at the Waters of Marah Story and the waters were called Marah because they were bitter. Moses was commanded to throw a piece of wood/or tree in some translations into the waters and they were cured of their bitterness. This foreshadows how the cross of Calvary can make a bitter poison dead heart and make it new. Mirriam the sister of Moses was born into the bitterness of slavery and was delivered into freedom. Mary the Mother of Christ was promised by Simeon that she would have the bitter experience of a sword piercing her heart and yet her obedience in giving birth to Christ would bring millions out of the bitterness of slavery to sin.We then looked at the fact that there are two women in Scripture - that it was said of them: "Blessed are you above Women!" The second woman is well known and the story is told at Christmas time every year when Mary is hailed as Blessed among women. The first however is quite surprising. It was Jael from Judges Chapter 4. She is called blessed among women for driving a tent peg through the head of Sisera, the general of the enemy Army that was attacking and oppressing Israel. that is a very strange pairing in Scripture Mary and Jael. What do they have in common? Why would they both be called Blessed Among Women! Mary gave birth to the one who would fulfil the prophecy of Genesis 3:15 that the seed of the woman would crush the serpent's head. Sisera, Goliath, Jezebel as seeds or offspring of the serpent will have their heads crushed and the stories of the defeat of these villains foreshadow and then culminate in Christ utterly defeating all his enemies including death itself. Even the future beast from the sea, the Anti-Christ or Instead of Christ will suffer a seemingly fatal head wound that he recovers from in an instead of resurrection. Of course when Christ returns the beast and false prophet and ultimately Satan are thrown into the lake of fire. The pairing of Mary and Jael in Scripture is what Christmas Head Crackers was about!
The TABERNACLE that GOD commanded MOSES to build with very precise instructions (including an outer layer of what many Bible scholars believe to be porpoise skin or some other kind of marine mammal) - Everything about the tabernacle in some way represents CHRIST. We will be exploring how that outer layer of porpoise skin on the tabernacle represents Christ.

Anyone else wonder why Jesus pulled off that sleeping through the storm stunt? Looks like he was making it clear to the disciples they had missed the greatest invite ever — the invitation to enter his beautiful rest, especially in the storms of life. Many have accepted the salvation invitation and stopped. God's made it clear that there is one more invitation — the invitation to enter HIS CONFIDENT REST REALM.
At times it feels like darkness surrounds us but the good news of Jesus is that a light has dawned; a light of hope, power, life and goodness. But where can we find it and how can we walk in it? “How do I carry on in a world full of fear?
Better yet - how do I carry on when I’m full of fear?
I don’t get preachers immunity.
Food prices, energy costs, interest rates, war, instability. I live right in the middle of the current circumstances and try to raise my family and run my business even when my heart feels paralysed, my stomach is in knots and my mind is test driving every negative outcome.
I’m in the fire - same as many others. I need to remember there’s another in the fire also.
If I’m going to walk by faith and not fear I’m going to need to walk on something more consistent than shifting sand. I’m going to need to walk on a word
Over the next twenty minutes I’m going to preach this message - to myself - but invite you to come with me because I believe there’s freedom on the other side. Let’s go for a walk…….“
This talk is the last in our 10 week series on "one another's" and concludes with a focus on how we should speak to one another and the source of where our words need to come from. Jesus' words were full of grace and He came to bring grace and truth. As Christians we want to follow His example but need the same heart of grace that Jesus had for all people, everywhere. Miraculously, wonderfully a heart of grace is the very gift Jesus purchased from us on the cross and offers to everyone who comes to Him with open hands.
My message for today is encourage one another. There are many ways to encourage one another from acts of kindness, visiting someone in need, giving of gifts or inviting others for a meal.
However, I want to focus today on the use of our words to follow God's instruction to encourage one another. Words have incredible power. The power of life and death is in the tongue. Our tongues and words have incredible power to do great good or great damage. Your words have the power of life, power to soothe, to heal, to bring hope, to energise, to reroute and are as precious as choice silver.
Today I want to focus on encouraging one another using carefully chosen words. This includes other Christians and others that you come into contact with on a daily basis from people at the checkout, people who you bump into walking the dog to work colleagues to the people you care for or use your services.
Bear With One Another
The eighth talk in our "One Another Series" this week focuses on the challenge to "Bear with one Another". To do this we need to discover the "Power of the Pause".
Jesus came to bring unity. Unity between God and mankind, unity in the church and unity ultimately between all people everywhere. One look at the world around us and it's clear this purpose is yet to be fulfilled.
But we have great hope. With the power of the gospel and the Holy Spirit working in us and through us we can see progress and trust that when Jesus returns the work will be completed.
A key characteristic we need to get us there is to be able to "bear with one another". To be able to respond correctly when we are hurt, let down or frustrated by those around us. To be patient with one another. No one finds it easy. But Jesus bore with us and has given us the wisdom and power to follow his example. Lets find out how!
“Thy Kingdom Calm“
My topic is “comfort“ and it struck me that when someone is in dire straits the need for calm is urgent. The number one missing ingredient from parish to Putin in seeing people comforted is hardly ever taught in schools, universities and even some churches. Jesus saw this coming when he arranged for a COMFORTER to come off the bench in his place. This Sunday my aim is to unlock the floodgates of comfort in our church city and nations in a beautiful way if you :- need comfort badly wish to be a champion comforter know how to cultivate the skill of comforting
Colossians 3:16-17 16 Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. 17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
One of the most powerful ways to show the transforming power of the gospel is for the church to do life well together. We were not designed to live in isolation, to work it all ourselves. God gave us each other, the church community, to help us grow and learn together in love, wisdom and truth.
SERVE ONE ANOTHER
“in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others” Philippians 2
This is how culture is shaped. This is something I want to be part of. This is church. - SH
If Jesus pleaded in prayer for Simon in Luke 22:31-32, we need to pray too. Praying for one another is a privilege, and a joy.
We need one another and we need one another’s prayers. Pray for people until they’re free… pray and love them out of captivity. Pray for their freedom, pray for their healing, pray for their health and pray for their relationship with Jesus to be on fire and to be all consuming!
James 5:16 “The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and wonderful results.”
Prayer is a privilege, prayer is potent, prayer is power.
The kindness of God has been revealed supremely in Jesus Christ. As followers of Christ we are commanded to be kind to one another just as God has been kind to us. And the wonder of God is that through His Holy Spirit he transforms us from the inside out to become not just those who do kind deeds, but those who have become kind in our very nature, just as God himself is kind. As we reflect on the passing of Queen Eiizabeth this week, we see a devoted follower of Christ who personified kindness as an example of how we too are to become people who reflect the kindness of God on everyone we meet.
Last week we started a series on the One Anothers in the Bible looking at what is Biblical community? In the New Testament we see one another commands such as Love One Another, Forgive One Another, Serve One Another, Pray for One Another, Encourage One Another etc.
In today's message we will discover that God intends for us to live in and experience community, connection and compassion in which we can be open and vulnerable with one another. Fear and shame causes us to live in isolation with secrets that keep us locked up and healthy. When we find true courage to connect, confess and pray in community we can find a healing for our shame and soul that is deeper than we have ever experienced before.
Having dived off the high board into Christianity I truly thought this is gonna be a piece of wedding cake. How easy can it be to “love God with all your heart and love your neighbour as yourself“?
Well that was before all the crazy horses showed up - folks who squawked the squawk but walking the walk seemed to be off their radar. The toughest part was that some of them were actually more crazy than me. Joking aside who wouldn’t give anything to please God obeying the two most powerful commands? So is there a way to stay in that zone when 10,000 fall at one side and a thousand on the other?
You bet there is - and I’m buzzing to share the one single secret that will help you smash it and stay at the top of your love game
As we grow in our faith - as we progress - perhaps the big dangers are not the obvious sins and temptations. The Ephesians were commended for knowing right from wrong and hating evil.
But we do have to be careful not to make our methods our messiah, not to love our practices more than the person of Jesus.
We live in a time when we have more resources than ever before. The best teaching, best music, best growth programs are all at our fingertips. All on our screens.
Let us not become so sophisticated in our Christianity that we leave Christ behind.
Identity is important. We hear a lot about it. And I get it. What is more personal, what is more fundamental to us than identity?
How we see ourselves informs how we live our lives. It influences how we respond and react and relate to one another.

Genesis 13 tells a story of an Uncle and nephew who had to face conflict head on. Family tensions, work relationships, friendships and more; are just some areas where tension and conflict can arise. This story in Genesis is packed full of wisdom into how to handle conflict in a Godly manner and teaches us the freedom available when we lay conflict down and walk in God's peace.
There is a battle going on for the bible. We must recognize it, engage in it and win it. If we don't like the followers on the road to Emmaus we might drift away from Jesus. But if we win it, we will find our hearts burning with hope, our lives turned around towards Jesus, and our mouths declaring, "He is alive"!
"My ways are not your ways" the bible says. For you and me to win this game together one of us has to abandon our rules to the game - and it’s not me says the Lord. Experience the most thrilling invitation to live life more full of the spirit than ever before
Walking In Victory
“In today’s message we will look at the battle that rages continuously in every Christian life and how we can have victory.
There is a battle between desires and for your heart’s desires. There is an internal battle going on for your love.
There is good news though. There is a way to love that brings victory. There is a way to live that gives us a solid foundation and internal transformation leading to a life that is like a thriving tree by streams of living water bearing the most beautiful and delicious fruit. “
Religion says if I change God will love me. The gospel says God's love changes everything.
Letting God's love take over and be the centre of all we do, transforms our heart, our soul and our mind. His love realigns, brings stability, and gives us sustainable, true joy and freedom to live an abundant life and make an impact on the world around us.
His love changes everything!
‘Yes Lord - Here I am;’ - it means whatever it is You’re asking, my answer is YES. Before I know what You’re asking … my answer is YES.
Whatever it is God is asking - my answer is YES.
In Genesis 22, God called to Abraham. Abraham’s immediate response:
‘Yes Lord - Here I am;’ - it means whatever it is You’re asking, my answer is YES. Before I know what You’re asking … my answer is YES.
Can we say the same? Are we available for God to use us? Let’s report for duty and say ‘Here I am, I am available.’

We are called, we are united, we are gifted
We become the church together. Made alive in Jesus, united in Spirit. Building up one another in love.
This is where the church is unique. It is inexplicably attractive. It is entirely different from anything else the world offers. (Text block)
We are called to be counter cultural, revolutionary, uniquely beautiful and fully alive!
Before Jesus fed the five thousand in Mark 6:41-43 , He “looked up and gave thanks”. But Jesus was not just giving thanks for the five loaves and two fishes. He was getting the Father’s perspective on the problem He was facing. Jesus had to feed five thousand people with just five loaves and two fishes. His need was greater than His resources. Jesus was giving thanks for what the Heavenly Father was about to do. As Jesus and the Disciples began to distribute the limited food they had, everyone was fed. Not only that, there was more than enough! How did that happen? The Father multiplied the food so that the need was met. Sometimes when we are faced with needs greater than our resources, we need to “look up and give thanks” that your Heavenly father knows what you need. As you regain His perspective, you will find all you need is available.
What is your vision of church? Many in today’s society have a dim view of church and its influence, or lack of it, through history and in today’s world. But Jesus had a remarkable vision for the church He started with his 12 disciples 2000 years ago: A place for all people everywhere to come together and experience and reflect nothing less than the glory, unity and love of God. At its best church is inexplicably attractive because it offers a doorway into heaven itself. This message is a personal testimony of how church has influenced me and my family and encouragement to you, to love church and make it a priority and passion of your life.

It's not difficult to see we live in a hostile world. With Coronavirus and other diseases, earthquakes, famines and financial uncertainty etc.
However, we are reminded in 2 Peter how God has given us 'everything we need' to endure these difficult times which gives you great hope and assurance.
Self isolation and lockdown has brought a sense of hopelessness, a lack of joy and no peace to some of us, but this morning I want to rejoice that God is the source of all of these things and that by placing our trust in him we can stand and celebrate that Jesus...YOU ARE MY KING!
How on earth can you live without fear in these troubling times?
We have been told to stay at home to ptotect the NHS and save lives. For some this is quite a challenge.
Immaculée Ilibagiza was born and raised in a small village in Rwanda, Africa. On April 6 1994, the Rwandan President's plane was shot down over the capital city of Kigali.
This assassination of the Hutu president sparked months of massacres of Tutsi tribe members throughout the country. Not even small, rural communities like Immaculée's were spared from the house-by-house slaughtering of men, women and children.
To protect his only daughter from rape and murder, Immaculée's father told her to run to a local pastor's house for protection. The pastor quickly sheltered Immaculée and seven other women in a hidden 3 x 4 foot bathroom. For the next 91 days, Immaculée and the other women huddled silently in this small room, while the genocide raged outside the home and throughout the country.
This brings our isolation into some perspective. 91 days in isolation in a 3 x 4 foot bathroom with 7 other women while a genocide raged outside! And yet Immaculée was able to teach herself English inside that bathroom to prepare herself to find a job with the U.N. when she got out.
This incredible woman will inspire us in this message on Sunday.

When we feel like it's all ending, it's time to go back to the beginning and remember the never-ending promises of God. REWIND back to the miraculous moment when our uncontainable God displays all his creative glory. REFLECT on the goodness & grace of God and give thanks for all He has done and all He will do. Let Jesus RENEW you - come to Him will all your fears, your doubts and failures - His door is always open!
I can't wait to encourage you this Sunday on how we can use this time to prepare and shake off the dust so we ready for bigger, better things to come.

Is Christianity good or bad for society?
Well what does the evidence suggest over the past 200 years?
Did you know that up until 200 years ago, average life expectancy was about 45-years-old. Up until 200 years ago, less than 10% of the global population could read.
Has Christianity had anything to do with this unbelievable improvement?
Albert Einstein once said, “First, God gave us Newton's laws of motion,” and then the rest of his quote essentially says, “Modern science is the result of that.”
John Ortberg says:
"Through our learning, our work, our culture, our relationships, technology, the arts, medicine; we are with humility to add goodness and beauty to families and societies and creation so that God’s whole project becomes a glorious delight to all who see it”
This is what Christians have been doing for hundreds of years and it's what they are called to continue doing. Unfortunately many give Christianity a bad name but real followers of Jesus are TRANSFORMERS bringing goodness and beauty to families and societies.
20/20 vision is a term used to express normal visual acuity (the clarity or sharpness of vision) measured at a distance of 20 feet. They also are called Snellen fractions, named after Herman Snellen, the Dutch ophthalmologist who developed this eyesight measurement system in 1862.
20/20 vision indicates the sharpness or clarity of vision at a distance.
In this message I want to show how you can have 20/20 spiritual vision. How you can have clarity and sharpness of spiritual vision. Without doubt vision is one of the most valuable gifts you have. Helen Keller who was blind once said: “The only thing worse than being blind is having sight but no vision.”
We will discover how to avoid spiritual short-sightedness. Short-sighted is being unable to see things clearly unless they are close to the eyes. It’s the inability to see things clearly which are far off. It’s used metaphorically to describe lacking imagination or foresight such as describing a “short-sighted government.”
Mark Twain once said: “You cannot depend on your eyes when your imagination is out of focus.”
In this message you will hear one powerful story tomorrow of a man who had his eyes opened and this gave him unbelievable courage and strength to go on an bring major transformation to his culture and nation which had global impacts.
I believe God wants us to portray a new normal to the world and people around us. He wants us to show them His normal. The world is so broken, they see it as normal. Let’s paint a picture of a Heavenly normal and show people God’s character and say ‘Come and know this God!’
God has a purpose for us to be like His Son and represent Heaven and reflect Jesus here and now.
Remember, the enemy can’t take what you have or change who you are ... you belong to Him!
